Absolute rubbish, overpriced junk food that represents poor value for money. Really disappointing experience. It amazes me that Cote has not gone out of business.

We come here often, and Svet Boykinov always makes us feel welcome and looks after us very well. The food is always incredible, and the portions and pricing is fair. Best restaurant in the area, we look forward to coming here again!

Sea food broth with no prawns ? Really not good enough.

I went to have lunch with a group from the company, and I ordered a well-done steak. However, when the food arrived, the steak was dry as a sole, accompanied by wilted lettuce and potatoes. The meal seemed like it had been cooked for hours and reheated. The service was not very professional, and the taste of the food was awful – tough and old meat.

This place REFUSES to take cash!!! I just hope that they experience a decently long power supply outage of a few weeks minimum. Then they might have regretted being completely CASHLESS. Come on, Mon Ami, you can seriously do better than that.

Was pleasantly surprised when visiting this restaurant with a group of friends. Service was very good and efficient and the food quality was much better than expected.

Have been a few times the quality of food has gone down but the price has increased was going to have a birthday party for 12 family but have changed venue

Excellent restaurant. Service and friendliness of all staff first class. Delivery of courses perfectly timed and not rushed. Very enjoyable relaxed atmosphere. Perfectly tender Calamari and excellent Ribeye Steak. An overall excellent experience and significantly ahead of the mediocrity of other restaurants.

French style restaurant chain. Decent interiors, good menu, wine and beer at not mad money.

A massive thanks to this restaurant. I came here for a friends wedding meal. The staff are awesome, and the cook is amazing. Due to dietary needs, i never eat steak, but today, i made an exception for the first time in 17 years (yes, seriously!). Kasper made an awesome mean steak with fries, so tasty well cooked (my preference, i can't do medium) and tender. Made my day. Thank you, Kasper. Emilia and Andreea, awesome service. On point. Well organised and we were warm welcomes. Thank you both. Cosy and clean restaurant. Def a new favourite for myself in the future.

Cote Watford is our favourite town centre restaurant - lovely team and we enjoyed the Alpine menu.

This was my first visit to Cote in ten years. My previous experiences were not great. We eat out a lot and it was suggested we go to Cote. I begrudgingly agreed. It was excellent. Service superb, menu so much better than all the other chain restaurants. Prices sensible which meant we had a nicer bottle of wine! Will be returning. And soon. Ps only marked atmosphere as a 3* as it was a wet, miserable Tuesday in January when we visited.

We consistently choose the Watford and St Albans branches of Cote for family outings, as they consistently provide exceptional food and a delightful atmosphere. Additionally, the Windsor branch has become our preferred destination for quarterly ladies' nights with friends, offering superb cuisine and a charming riverside setting. We highly recommend these branches for a memorable dining experience.

Came here for a company Christmas meal. I controversially got the steak and it was cooked to perfection. Portions were on the small side but that is to be expected with the quality. Only real issue was we felt mislead when choosing the wine and ended up buying several bottles that were alot more expensive than what we thought which was a shock at the end. Great food and good service though, was impressed.

Well looked after, nothing too much trouble and birthday pudding for my daughter was a lovely surprise and a nice touch.

My son has a nut allergy, the lady serving our table was called Neringa, she was very careful to check the allergen detail of my son food and equally ensured the food was clearly identified when brought to our table as some of his choses were the same as his sisters. Neringa was equally warm, friendly and looked after my family brilliantly. A good night and this branch is one I would happily recommend

This place is the jewel of the crown of Watford dining. We have tried many places but we keep coming back here. Staff are always happy to see us and attentive to our needs. We cannot recommend this place enough.

We were served by Ed today, who was an absolute charming sweetheart! This was the best service we ever received in Watford. The atmosphere in here was so cozy and elegant, it was like escaping to another reality, which is exactly what we did after a day of hard work. With such high quality of gourmet dishes and beverages, this was no longer just a simple dining out, it was an experience. We are definitely coming back here again and inviting our family over to share this wonderful experience of what seems like a 5 star restaurant for a very reasonable price.

We had a great meal. Lamb was delicious. We really enjoyed the beet salad and the chicken liver pate as starters.

Came here on a Sunday morning for brunch with my 6 year old son for a vegetarian big breakfast. My first visit here and was deciding between this place or second visit to Cassio Lounge. I couldn’t fault the staff, they were friendly and helpful and the ambience was good. The food however, I’m sorry to say was poor. I was expecting a yokey fried egg (not dried and shrivelled up). The potato fritte was a shameful stingy small size and and the breakfast was missing baked beans (which they don’t serve). I get that this is a French restaurant but by no means was this a better standard than something non-French. I genuinely expected better. My son didn’t like his vegan burger but ok that’s him, I thought it was ok with the chips. The starter croquettes with salmon was also poor and I struggled to see or taste any salmon. Unlikely I’ll eat here again. I left feeling hungry and unsatisfied. Ed the manager was really good and acknowledged the feedback and offered to discount the croquettes which I appreciated.

Superb quality ingredients and delicious food. The service was impeccable, my friend arrived a few minutes after us and her glass was immediately filled with fizz when she arrived. Very attentive and friendly service.

No idea how I've missed such restaurant all this time since its opening. Didn't read any reviews or recommended by anyone. Both me and my wife decided to give it a try and we became regulars. Simply the best place to eat in Watford. At least the most delicious food I ate around the area. Fine cuisine, most close experience you will get to fine dining without paying a fortune. Atmosphere is great and service spot on.

Since the Amersham Cote closed, this is now our nearest. Unpretentious traditional French cuisine, at a very reasonable price. The pork cassoulet, fish parmentier, and belly pork are superb - better than we've eaten in France. Friendly attentive staff, attractive surroundings, plenty of parking nearby. We love it.

Excellent food, French onion soup, cheese soufflé always delicious, and the desserts!! Salted caramel tart was outstanding. Service friendly but a bit slow and they made a small mistake but it didn't impact our enjoyment.

The staff and ambience is great. The food is average and below my expectations for the Cote. Ordered a flat white coffee and eggs Florentine. Coffey tasted okay but presentation was below what most coffee houses provide. The Eggs were lacking in taste and the hollandaise sauce was bland.

What a delightful lunch menu they have 👍 dragged my hubby out of a meeting to meet me for lunch and we had great time . All gluten free starter and main course freshly prepared and presented with good service. What not to like !!!

Good place to grab breakfast. Love all the pictures on the walls and the different wooden chairs and tables. The coffee was one of the better ones I have had in England. Reasonably priced.

Absolutely appalling service- they could not be any slower if they tried. Had to ask for order to be taken. They did not at any point ask if we wanted a drink or how our food was. Trying to get their attention was ridiculous- the place wasn't even that busy.There were 4 of us booked in for 1pm and we were having the fixed menu. We left just before 4pm and even when we asked for the bill they were so slow taking payment. We did not pay the service charge as the service was dreadful. I regularly go to Cote St Albans which always does a good job so I am particularly disappointed as I expected so much more. I will not be going back to this restaurant as they clearly do not have any idea of how to make customers feel valued or any idea of customer service. A shame I cannot give zero stars!

Customer service is perfect. The food is cooked to perfection and the atmosphere is also lovely. Would come back in a heart beat. Steak and Calamari is our recommendation. Haven't a bad word to say.. Thank you. We'll be back!

We met up with extended family and enjoyed supper here. Great location and the usual good-choice menu. My sea bass was delicious and we were all spoilt for choice on desserts!

Excellent service and great food. Denisea and Svet were excellent hosts. Slightly disappointed the the 1664 was not imported but the Cote de Boeuf was superb. As was was the St Emilion grand cru. Glad to see Cote still have customers at heart and are open with enough staff on a Monday evening to deliver great service. Thank you!

Average European cuisine. Disappointing tomato tartlet. Quite insubstantial and lacking in any excitement. Vegetarian options a little limited compared to meat and fish. We shared starters which were as expected olives, sourdough bread which were nicely presented. We didn't bother with pudding as there wasn't any exotic ice cream eg pistachio or anything else that seemed inspired to tickle our taste buds. Decent wine choices and all drinks good value.

I didn't go there, not because I didn't want to, I just had no need. I was actually on my way to Boots to buy . . . well, never mind. Anyway, there are three very nice London Plain trees outside of Côte. I guess I must have stopped to admire them. I've given the trees a 5☆ rating because I like trees. As for Côte, I really couldn't say.

Excellent surprise with this place . They have a great value lunch meal 15£ for starter and main before 7pm and it’s well worth it . No substitute on the quality. Soup and salad were excellent , sea bass was one of the best I had in a long time and truffle chips were just the way I liked them. Bread and olives were very tidy too . Only negatives are - the croutons in the salad are not ok and sliding the olives and bread into the bill without notification was abit of a surprise. Because we was offered bread like it was complimentary. However ! Excellent place to go and will defiantly go again, worth every £

The staff are lovely and service was great. The food was awful the toughest steak I've ever had and my rocket had seen better days.

Been going to Cote for many years, firstly in St Albans, then in Watford when they opened a branch here and was our go-to reasonably priced restaurant with nice table service. Certainly a step up from the local Indian. The past several times though I can't help but feel a bit disappointed. The food is not quite as nice as it used to be and the portion sizes have visibly shrunk a considerable amount. I understand that restaurants have overheads, but in the end - you sell food - this is what customers come for. The food is not something you should overly tinker with as it is the first thing customers will notice. I'd certainly think twice before going again. I think that "chain" restaurants have had their day to be honest. Perhaps best to seek out a local family run restaurant, though I suspect they are far and few between these days.

The place had a very nice atmosphere, spacious, plenty of space at the table. The food was excellent very tasty, only quibble, there could have been a little more food on the plate. Staff were attentive, knowledgeable and quick to respond. All in all a very enjoyable experience.

Very nice food in decent portions, typically French, I’d say. Tuna Niçoise salad and the fish stew in particular are great (I’m a seafood and fish lover, so I may be biased). The wine selection is pretty extensive, not on the cheap side, but you pay for quality. The waiters are friendly and professional at the same time. The indoors sitting area is very generous snd the outdoors one is really decent. The staff makes you feel respected and welcomed. A medium-priced place in my opinion, but they never lack clients

My daughter is turning 12 years old this month. We decided to come and have a nice family meal to celebrate her birthday. It felt nice and special. The ambience in the restaurant is very nice. The decor is modern and fresh and makes you feel like you’re having a very good experience. The food is cooked extremely well , you can tell that the chefs know what they are doing. The staff are extremely friendly and attentive . I would say that my favourite place to eat in Watford is now Côte.

The Burger was hard, and although I asked the staff, if it was fresh or frozen, it felt so overcooked, and unedible. My wife had this supposedly, french pastry with grilled tomatoes that it was neither tasty nor french and it felt like a big biscuit with some tomatoes on top and so hard it felt like a burnt toastie. Incidentally my wife is french and she'd never had this food before. I am not sure where Cote is going with their menu, bit I will never go there again. Sorry I used to like this restaurant 😔
