Costa Coffee in Christchurch

Kayleigh, Ellie and Yasmin were amazing (I asked their names so I could write this review) This is the first time visiting and won't be my last Kayleigh sold me cake I didn't know I wanted! They worked so well as a team and were very welcoming. Their knowledge of allergies was incredible , highly recommend Thank you 😊

The Christchurch Costa is excellent and has a good team. It serves good coffee

A good location, particularly in the afternoon sunshine. Friendly staff, great flat white coffee, hot chocolate and mince pie (gluten free).

I didn't eat, just had a drink.

food and drink were great. sadly the staff were rude... whilst taking my order the lady kept turning round and speaking to her colleagues and other customers. I had to keep repeating my order. I had keep reminding the man making the drink that I had oat milk as he gave me normal cows milk which I can not drink. eventually my order was correct. staff need be aware and pay attention with milk which was worrying

Very poor service. Very slow. Only half seating available yet busy. When asked to sit in other section they told me to sit outside! Drinks only available in paper cups. Plus no brown sugar Avoid!!

It is one of the old squares with different kind of high street shops. In sunny day Nero or Costa have outside sitting and one can enjoy people watching.

Our coffees were very good but the staff were unprofessional making lots of noise shouting to each other. No wonder there were few customers during our visit.

I have never been in a costa coffee and never will overpriced by the look of it over £4 for a coffee many of which have a third of the recommended daily calories so unhealthy for you and your wallet

The drinks are now rather expensive. Christchurch Shop had no jugs for milk nor pots for water and instead used takeaway cups as the dishwasher was 'broken' but the tables were cleared efficiently, unlike the Southbourne Shop which always has trays full of empty cups, mugs, plates etc., left on the tables for a great deal of time and their toilets seem to be constantly dirty.

I want my money back my food took over an hour and 20 minutes appalling service and unhelpful driver

Honestly this Costa was dreadful, dirty tea cup, no milk provided and a greasy muffin. Don't visit here!

A good atmosphere with all staff, especially Lola. Friendly and efficient. There's nothing not to like.

Ordered a chai latte, received a latte.

Coffee always the same with the odd seasonal drink, pricey but sometimes good. Hot or cold sandwiches or rolls and some delicious cakes. Very popular.

On arrival I asked staff if I could bring my golden retriever inside to sit by the door as it was very hot outside. I was told no problem and ordered drinks and food. On sitting down another staff member told us to get the dog outside. No customer empathy, I informed staff member I had gained permission to sit inside before purchase made, but to no prevail. Had to leave coffees as too hot to drink in sun and cruel to the dog as outside no shade. Good location in Saxon Square, but clearly not dog friendly. Poor atmosphere unlikely to visit again with Neros nearby.

Solid Costa with friendly staff and good coffee

Quiet and great service this time of the year. During the summer months it can get a lot busier although the quality of thw service, coffee and cakes never go down. If visiting Christchurch and feel like a coffee and cake then you could do no wrong by viaiting this coata coffee. Ive also always experienced friendly and experienced staff at this, and to bw honest most, costa coffee shop. Location wise its not the moat scenic, but just down the road is Christchurch quay.

2 cups of tea ordered, asked for one cup to be changed as was stained, swopped for one less stained, waiter placed order on tray, sat at table and realised how filthy tray was!

I ordered marshmallows and didn’t receive them. My hot chocolate was half full and my muffin was stale. Not happy

Cluttered, uncleared tables, unhelpful member when asking for serviettes. Disappointed on this visit. Then 2 lattes and a shared hot food slice for £12.30, doesn't make for a cheap lunchtime visit. Come on Costa does your Coffees need to be so expensive ?

Costa in Saxon Square is the best! After trying to order from the christchurch retail park, and given the run around trying to phone them, they then cancelled the order. Contacted Costa Saxon Square they were able to help brilliantly! The manager was very polite and helped with everything. Order delivered perfectly. Thank you so so much!

Watched the driver go around several housing estates not even that close to us, not sure how they got it so wrong, and as a result, the food wasn’t very warm when it arrived so wasn’t the best experience.

The drinks were cold when they finally were delivered late. It’s not a big order and the drink should’ve been hot not cold. The Service really is awful.

Got told to leave by a server as I had not purchased any confectionery, I was told I needed to buy to be seated. After I had purchased said confectionery I was told I still could not stay!

The shop itself feels very comfortable and has great seating. Making drinks too longer than expected but was so worth it. The staff are normally quite friendly and handle the lunchtime rush with amazing professionalism!

Overall bad experience with Costa, we spent a lot within the franchise and today we experienced a quite unsettling approach from the staff in Christchurch. Young chap proceeded to laugh and chuckle at a complex order due to us being unable to drink a huge amount of dairy (not vegan) but can only handle it in small doses. Felt rather mocked within a very short time as the branch and will no longer be coming back.

Cappuccino was definitely not a cappuccino. More like a latte. My husband changed it for me

On my visit I found Costa Coffee very clean,tidy and the staff were very polite

"I recently visited Costa and was extremely impressed by the delicious hot chocolate and latte, both of which were topped with a light dairy swirl and a festive twinkle topper. The added bonus of a wrapped Toblerone tiny bar was the cherry on top! In my opinion, Costa has the best coffee in the UK. The croissants and pastries were also good, but the prices could be more reasonable. That being said, I was able to get a great deal with the Costa rewards scheme and only paid £4.20 for two Toblerone lattes. The service at the Christchurch Costa Coffee location was excellent and the atmosphere and decor were top-notch. I would definitely give this location a solid 5 stars."

This Costa is great with a brilliant manager and friendly staff. It's a relaxing place for an early Coffee with a nice atmosphere.

1st time in this Costa, friendly staff, had a chat while the Barista made my drinks, no complaints here, as I had a takeaway I can't comment on the atmosphere other than it was fine for the short time I was there!

Our drinks leaked everywhere as there were no caps to stop it happening like we had before. Food was Luke warm but the driver was very good

Friendly staff reasonable priced

I came in here to finish some school work and have some lunch, my friend friend had a foot resting on the sofa and was rudely approached by a member of staff shouting for her to move it (‘get your feet off the sofa more than anything’) This has happened to other people we know aswell. I understand that this may be a rule however I do not appreciate the angry tone of voice he approached us with and the way he spoke down to us. This is absolutely unacceptable and I think there was a politer way to ask. Other members of staff behind the counter were lovely and very polite.

Friendly staff and efficient service. I took a star off as many of the seats outside contained pools of water from earlier rain. As it was sunny and warm when I arrived, many people were opting to be outside, but over half of the seats were unavailable because of this, Stafff need to be more aware of this. My coffee was great.

Spent £50 on an order for them to get 2 of the coffees wrong, forget another coffee and both toasties are cold. Very very angry

Typical Costa coffee, normal selection of products available. Some seating. Prices same as nationwide.

Was busy, only a couple of spare seats inside. Minor queueing inside to order. Was seating outside however these were wet due to early rain. Pretty clean and same for toilets.

Helpfull staff, specially Bader is a best barista at Costa shops so far ever seen. Cake varieties needs to be upgraded to premium quality as well as additional flavoured brownies needed.

The staff are friendly and helpful, and the drinks are great too. I came here to study with my friends and they were really nice despite how long we stayed!! We sat in the area around the back as it had more privacy. Will definitely be coming again!

Nice refuge in the wind and rain. Bright and spacious. Friendly. Very nice hot chocolate and latte. Shame the choice of cake etc was rather limited.

I get that Christchurch has a high proportion of more mature residents who probably don’t mind dawdling but the service I received here was totally unacceptable. About 6 members of staff behind the counter, all more interested in going out to buy a mop and pinning a badge on another member of the team who was celebrating a birthday. I ordered 2 coffees, the first must have stood waiting at least 5 minutes before the second was ready, unsurprising it was lukewarm by the time I sat down, now I understand why other orders were requested as extra hot, obviously locals who have learnt from previous experience. Very disappointing, will try elsewhere next time I am in town.

Costa coffee in Christchurch was lovely. Coffee nice and hot. Lemon muffin was delicious.

This shop has been my go-to Coffee shop for at least 10 years! I’m assuming it’s a franchise because if it was part of a proper chain they would be horrified. It’s run by a bunch of ‘trainees’ proudly emblazoned all over their T-Shirts, why are trainees, sometimes 4 at a time allowed to be running the counter on their own? None of them can make a decent coffee, they are all falling over themselves and looking stressed and confused behind the counter, occasionally who I’m assuming is the (new) shop manager is in there, he literally stands there trying to look busy stacking cups and staring at an iPad and very rarely serves, and when he does his coffee is equally as bad as the trainees and served with such bad grace and without a smile, just slammed on top of the counter so it slops everywhere! I understand that trainees have to be trained somehow but not on my time and certainly NOT on my money! I’m fed up with being served a not only a miserable coffee but a miserable experience, the shop is filthy and run-down and the staff all look miserable and couldn’t care less, if I’m paying anything between £4 - £8 a day on coffee and a sandwich.. more if I meet a friend, that £30+ a week which can be spent better elsewhere, especially as there is a busy, thriving Costa directly opposite, my advice to anyone looking for a decent Coffee in Christchurch is to avoid this one like the Plague

New year's Day, it was fairly quiet, the staff were polite and competent

Worst experience at a Costa Coffee shop EVER!! Half hour wait for coffee and filthy tables everywhere! One older lady had to clean her own table and take tray full of crockery into shop?! Awful….😏
