Brilliant nice and clean good coffee

Always great coffee and friendly service

Not so good here when we visited, I think they must have had an exceptionally busy time. There wasn't any gluten-free cakes, the cabinets had hardly anything in them. The Staff were still working hard and there was plenty of clean tables.

My cortado was more like a latte

I popped into Costa for a coffee and catch up with a friend. The staff were friendly and welcoming. It was busy but we managed to find a table inside. The cakes were nice and the atmosphere was calm.

Lovely sitting outside to enjoy one of those frapa thingies.

Just had coffee but I try not to go here anymore because it's so expensive

It's my favourite place for coffee, beats Starbucks any day.

Standard Costa It's gettingg boring now. Needs a revamp on food , design and layout.

Food was the best we have eaten at a Costa recently, service was efficient and the staff friendly. They lost a star for atmosphere but this is more down to other customers not everyone is respectful of others.

Drab and empty. Tollgate going down the tubes, not the fault of costa. Coffee was very weak. Assistant almost filled the cup with hot water and then added the coffee by placing it under the machine. I wouldn't go again...

Toilets had no toilet paper. Tables were full of trays and mess.

"Totally average coffee at totally premium prices". Dec 2023 Another lack lustre experience at Costa today in Tollgate. Medium latte just tasted of warm milk. No flavour. Took me ages to address this with 4 staff as they steadfastly ignored me. It was re-made, skimmed across the counter at me and again tasted of warm milk. Asked for a refund. No idea why people come to Costa. On the positive side, I got a refund for my warm brown milk.

My friend and I went here for a catchup today and the seats looked disgusting. My friend said she saw flies in there too. Couldn’t complain about food or drinks. The barista and server were very good.

I had a spare couple of hours to spend and thought me and my mum would have Lovely little snacks/meal with some drinks and the drinks and snacks where really nice then when my mum went to the bathroom there was no toilet paper and the rude and Arrogant staff member refused to put some in then proceeded to go to the staff toilet and ignore us so we asked her name and she replied with “none of your business” then she took her name badge off and started to chat about us to her collage who wasn’t listening and was busy actually working . Not sure of the rude girls name but she had long black hair with a full face of makeup on and because of her I will never be returning to this Costa .

Food is good. It's a shame that it's so expensive.

You’d be quicker to go to Kenya and get the beans yourself.

Went to get a coffee and was shocked seeing a barista (Olivia) with a horrible attitude towards me and other clients, I even saw her hitting boxes behind the counter quite violently! A hazard to people. I understand they are understaffed but you can’t be acting in such a way in front of clients. Terrible terrible place.

Great coffee and also are other hot drinks. Their muffins are yummy too

We have waited 45 mins and still not got our drinks on Sunday afternoon, tables are not even being cleared, inside premises is dirty cobwebs everywhere, this seriously is the worse Costa I have been to

If they had the same batista all the time (a young man with a beard) then I would rate it 5 stars but he seems be the only one that can make a consistently perfect cup of coffee

A good Costa Coffee. Generally, drinks have been served quickly. Sometimes it is busy and it isn't as productive as it could be. I recently brought an iced drink here and was given good service and spoke to a lovely woman who served me.

Ordered for 1.30 delivery and it arrive at 1.50 meaning my daughter didn’t have time to eat/drink items on her lunch break

Driver drove past house 10 mins and then was rude on his phone

Great Flat White. Makes me wonder why different Costas aren't consistent? For example Tollgate Costa make a better flat white than Clacton shopping Village and the Coster in Waterglade Park? Love M& S food and excited to see salads.

Over priced, a cup of warm milk pretending to be coffee

Staff are absolutely brilliant, very friendly and extremely polite and just give a great service

I asked for the Victoria sponge cake but this store didn’t have it in stock but instead of clearing it off, Ruby phoned me to ask if there’s something else I would rather have instead. I was very pleased with this customer service

I didn’t get everything in my prder!!

Absolutely terrible. We ordered a small decaf latte which was a cup of milk, literally. A small cappuccino, which was also a cup fill of weak milky coffee and a cheese and ham toastie which was stale and went straight in the bin. Why say we’re baristas when you can’t even make a cappuccino?! It should be: A cappuccino contains equal parts of espresso, steamed and milk froth. McDonald’s coffee is a 100 times better. We will not be back! Really sh&t!

The girl taking the orders could take the money far quicker than the poor lad trying to make all the coffees. A long queue built up between till and service, but no one with the common sense to see the issue.

I have been to better Costa, I thought the day I went there the member of staff doing the coffee didn't care. The coffee cup they was using has seen better days and with the dirty cloths on show to the public and using them to clean. Will not rush back.

Very very slowly staff, more than 40 minutes to have your coffee ready.

You couldn't even eat the crust if the sandwich. It was rock hard /stale

We love going to Costa, but we find that the one at Waterglade industrial estate dont get their delivery until late and quite often have no food so we travel to the big shopping centre at the common.

Being more seen than the counterparts ( café Nero, Starbucks ) in shopping centres, malls, high streets, Costa is handy for a break, a refresh after shopping, or a boost for a start in this way. So, Costa is above ranking here at Tollgate because you have no other options in terms of cafes. Please, don't say anything about McDonald's coffee, that's a second hand tea.....imo.

Short staffed and disorganised , drinks were wrong when they came but they did re make them much to the annoyance of the queue behind us

Couldn’t get through to the costa to say I’d put wrong address even though this app suggests that’s what you do. I tried 2 stores (trying to get the correct number from one). No answer at 1. Dead line at the other. We were working outside today on the vaccinations. No buildings nearby. Costa gave us sugar but no stirrers.

Absolutely awful, food was missing items, coffee was half full!!!

I ordered a hot chocolate with a flake, but there was no flake, the bacon in the roll was dry and there was no code to scan to add beans to my account. Apart from delivery, which was excellent, I’m very disappointed.

Love this costa staff are nice its always clean and tidy and dont ever wait long to be served or food to be brought over 😀

Excellent as usual. The billionaires shortbread is to die for. Didn't use any of my rewards on this visit but was asked if I wanted too. Toilets were spotlessly clean.

Alway look forward to a mug of Costa coffee when shopping at Tollgate, we tried their sandwiches for the first time, we were surprised at how fresh and tasty they were. Never had a bad experience in any of the coffee shops.

Not to good! Had to wait ages for eating in then when finally got served there's no spaces to sit as staff had let people who hadn't been served sit first! Plus missed an item of my order. Joke really!

Always a fresh hot coffee professionally prepared. Gerry (Jerry) has been working with different tops of drinks including pokemon and Mario bros etc. Helpful and friendly

Late and drinks luke warm as a consequence

I ordered Tomato Mozrella Panini but they sent croissants, saying we have run out of Panini. But those contain eggs. I am allergic to eggs, so they should have called and asked before making the change. Thankfully, I google and confirmed or I'll have a big problem.

Most clients wearing masks, I think the staff should be encouraged to as well.

Instead of croissant was given a maple syrup plait. Not great when someone doesn’t like it

The store was operating on take away only, I assume because of lack of staff. There were large queues, no air conditioning and customers were giving up and leaving.

Love a Costa latte and their carrot cake.

Overpriced poor quality too many coffee shops not enough pride

My frappuchino was completely melted, there was no cream on the top and it was supposed to be delivered at 12.45 and didn't arrive till 1.18. complete waste of money

My latte tasted like salt, and the hot chocolate was missing the marshmallow and flake that I paid an extra £1 for so unhappy

Drinks were good but my croissant was burnt

The drinks were ok, however, maybe the staff could be a bit more welcoming. You can still smile even with a mask on!!! Also barking orders at customers as to where to stand is really unnecessary!!

Only a take away but still lovely

Lovely coffee on a chilly day but wish they didn't have to put plastic lids on the drinks, as we all know single use plastics are what causes the environmental problems...

Rude member.of staff. Spoke to us in a very aggressive way that we needed stand on the spot outside and became frustrated when we couldn't see it even though it was around the side and she never directed us to it. I became very angry and yes I swore as I walked away, but covid or not I'm still a customer and deserve to be spoke to as one. I'll never drink there again.

Great clean and efficient system in place due to current Covid restrictions. Had to queue for a short while but not long. Staff are friendly, coffee really tasty and a nice atmosphere.

I know these are troubled times but store was un organised and left got fed up waiting

Service was very good but the cleaning for outside was very poor had to ask to get the table cleaned ,they clean the table but not the chairs had clean ourselves.

Great atmosphere, despite the social distancing, pleasant staff.

The same as any other Costa, good coffee and clean. That's why I use Costa because you are sure of what you are going to get
