The place is quite large and there are several seats, the staff is very kind. The coffee is a little too watery

Cafe latte tasted like the espresso shot missed the cup. Still, better than the other major chain. Nowhere near as good as the local guys though.

Waiting on a friend to finish her meeting, I looked forward to a cosy Costa coffee. Air Con was on, despite really cool weather, so it didn’t feel like a place I wanted to stay even though I love other Costa Coffees. It’s too big for me personally but great for those who want a spacious cafe.

My favourite Costa in Edinburgh. Great place to study - good wifi, loads of spacious sitting area and very quiet in the weekend. 2 minutes walk from Waverley Train Station.

We preordered one order the night before (this one) and ordered another in the morning. This one that was preordered turned up 25 minutes after the other one which means the preorder system is floored

Bap Deal ended up more expensive than I expected, staff wasn't helpful and welcoming at all.

This Costa seems to have had a change of management recently which has seen an incredible swing on the emphasis of customer service. Until recently there wasn't any real engagement from the crew and the whole customer experience lacked luster but now you actually feel welcomed and that your custom is important. The store itself is spacious, light and importantly clean. Tables are cleared away quickly. Without a doubt it is now one of the best Costa coffee shops to visit in Scotland.

Substituted sandwich order, far too late for the recipient anyway who had to leave. Arrived stone cold and barely toasted. Arrived about an hour after first estimate posted. If I’d known what my friend wanted wasn’t available and that it would take so long I would’ve gone elsewhere. By far, my worst experience of Costa. Certainly won’t be ordering from this branch again. Waste of money.

The original time window was delayed 3 times due to Hogmanay shortage of drivers busier than usual. Also add bosh vegetarian wrap on the menu as new titles for new year just available in store?

Amazing store, pleasant service, tasty food and excellent drinks. I recommend!

There's nothing wrong with Costa in general, and the staff here are mostly great. However, there is one women, with dark hair and tattoos who really should not be in the job. She is extremely unpleasant, rude and frankly does not have the right attitude for the service industry. And the way she treated one of the other staff who was training....wow! There was simply no need. It actually made me angry enough to write this review after seeing her speak to a staff member who was clearly in training. There are lots of Costas in Edinburgh city centre and I would recommend them all, just not this one because of the rude, hostile female member of staff.

Just wish you had quorn vegan wrap back in just like January 2023 new release vegan chicken panini as well.

Coffee was all over bag.i only got half a cup bottom of bag leaking

Sadly as the driver released the paper bag the hot drinks spilled all over the door entry floor as I did try to get a refund but didn’t realise that it was a 24 hour window and refund and complaints section was not clearly visible to make a claim at the time so lost money for poor packaging and not clear guidelines on when to reclaim a refund 🤬

Typical chain coffee place that left a lot to be desired. It was clean and orderly but the coffee was not great and the staff member making the coffee had noticeably dirty hands. I wouldn't go back.

It's not actually been delivered, but has been marked delivered. I gave it a while just to be sure but nope, nothing :((

Delivery driver sat in his car and stared at me for like 10 mins. I was in crutches and he watched me struggle down the stairs when he could of walked 1 min as a delivery driver to bring it to me. He never even said hi he just handed it to me. Food was good

More vegan options needed for me.

The 2 hot chocolate drinks in the paper bag spilled out on the doorstep please 🙏 can I get a refund for £11 for lost items hot food was delivered but drinks dropped by accident by driver?

The moustache man that served me was very nice and welcoming, recommending a Cortado which was also very nice! Highly recommended and service was fast and efficient

All of the staff were brilliant except some guy with a moustache. Passed my franchise discount card to a colleague who was lovely and took my order (still training) and was unsure what to do - for reference I visit this store most mornings and never had an issue until now - told that they don’t accept it by this moustache guy who didn’t take any time to explain this nonsensical comment even when I highlighted it’s still valid and was just given to me a few weeks ago - he then said nah we don’t take it im going to have to check and put through a discount anyway? He didn’t take the time to help teach his training employee about the situation or the card for future reference and instead turned away and rolled his eyes Really quite shocking to be honest - I’ve worked for over a decade in the services industry and never have I treated someone with such contempt for no reason I’ll reiterate everyone else was brilliant and the trainee has a fantastic manner towards customers and is attentive- he made a mistake with my order but you know what it didn’t even bother me because he was so nice Moustache on the other hand, has a chip on his shoulder Think I’ll startrt going to Nero for my regular coffees from now on

Let’s have More vegetarian options like vegan chicken panini and vegan sausage bap roll on the online menu as limited options available as opposed to in store café visit. Cream available with marshmallows for delivery not on menu. New hot food titles as current menu needs refreshed.

I ordered a frappe with Decaff coffee, oat milk I asked for cream and chocolate sauce. Whatever that is I don’t know. Tried to call store and no answer. Half of it missing.

Great atmosphere-nice place and we'll situated, coffees as per the chain standards. Staff was friendly but busier talking to each other than assisting. This on both occasions... Food choice is limited and what I had wasn't great... I'll come back for the place and a coffee tho

Nice friendly clean coffee shop.

We were staying at the Premier Inn hub next door to this Costa. On the way back to the hotel we stopped in for a cuppa. We decided to treat ourselves to something sweet to boost energy levels to find the sweet counter desimated! I realised why when I opened my app and realised it was Friday treat day and you could get a cake for £1. I managed to get one of the last Sicilian lemon muffins which we shared and it was delicious. Moist, sweet and just the right amount of tangy. My tea cup was pre warmed without asking and I was given extra milk when asked without question. The staff were very polite, service was quick and efficient. The tables were all cleared and floors cleaned. No complaints from this customer. Thankyou!

I ordered a toastie, which was burnt inside & out, crammed into a panini box which had caused it to completely fall apart. Definitely not worth the money, definitely won't be back.

Great Coffee, shame about customer service - this branch is staffed by the most miserable and sullen barista's in the city. No one likes the morning shift, but the phrase, "start the day with a smile..." has not appeared in a staff memo at this branch of Costa

It is a pleasure that the waitress (Emily) attends me with such a beautiful smile and such kindness.The products, as always when you go to a franchise, leave a lot to be desired.But just for the service it is worth going to this Costa cafe and not another.

Loads of space, loads of seats, almost no one in (went during the fringe, this place was empty every time). Pretty standard Costa things to eat. Nice staff.

Used this branch a couple of times for breakfast as it's handy when staying at the adjoining Premier Inn. Very spacious and usually quite quiet. My only gripe really was about their pre 11am breakfast deals advertised on a screen behind the counter where you could not actually read the small print! The first time we hadn't seen these until we were sitting down and it appeared if we had ordered medium coffees instead of small we would have paid only about £6 instead of £17. The second time we paid £12 instead of £6 and can only think that was because we paid for the two breakfasts together so probably only one counted as a deal? We should probably have paid separately. On both occasions we felt the staff could have mentioned that if we ordered slightly differently we would pay a lot less. Otherwise very good.

However much you pay Vicky & Mo, it isn’t enough. Drinks always full and cheery notes written on bag or napkins. Great service!

Our Mocha tasted burnt (like the coffee beans were burnt) and the caramel shot we ordered for the mocha was put into the hot chocolate making it taste weird.

They left a lovely note on the bag but our large hot chocolate and mocha were only half full. We checked the bag and nothing was spilled during delivery so when the drinks were made, they were only filled to half the portion of what we paid for.

On two occasions now I’ve heard the staff gossiping about customers. Coffee ok. Staff rude and insincere.

Order and charged correctly but the person making the coffee got our order wrong for both coffees ordered. We did not complain but very disappointed.

I'm not sure what's up with the opening hours. At 4 pm, I attempted to get coffee with a friend here, but it was closed! Despite the fact that Google stated that it was open till 6 pm. It is quite inconvenient.

Food was dispatched from Costa on time but the delivery driver was late. He couldn’t find us but didn’t call. Food and drink were cold by the time he delivered.

Pretty much like other Costa places though this one may have had a bad drain nearby to account for the wafts of sulphur compounds where we sat.

Gets your order wrong even though you’ve ordered through the app and they have clear instructions. Putting the wrong milk in someone’s drink is not taken seriously enough people can have severe allergic reactions!

Okay, so I know Costa is everywhere but I am obsessed with this place. It’s so spacious, airy, clean toilets, nice seating areas, and a great location. Would recommend for quiet meeting places or first date coffees. It’s also in a good location if you’re visiting and need a place close by your hotel for a morning coffee. Staff could be a little nicer but overall it’s a nicely done Costa.

WiFi isn't very reliable if you are trying to do some work there, iced coffee was delicious though especially in this heat!

Comfortable, good coffee. Nice easy breakfast rolls and coffee, great way to start the day.

Covid coping measures all in place, staff pleasant and decent coffee.

Good coffee and hot chocolate. White hot chocolate wasn’t available that day though. And the options of cakes and sandwiches were quite limited (perhaps a rush earlier and they hadn’t managed to restock yet?). Spacious with lots of tables, many with blocked off seats to enforce distancing. Hand sanitiser was provided and posters everywhere with QR codes to ‘check in’ for the track and trace scheme — it does mean you need a smartphone to use (though they asked you to do it at the till, so they might be able to help if you aren’t able to scan a QR code or have no phone). The bathrooms were easy to find and clean and tidy.

Wonderfully helpful and cheery staff, had a very early lunch today and found that I can order ahead, win win for quick lunch breaks! Panini was so good it was gone before I could get a photo...

One of the best coffee experiences. The place is huge with a wide selection of choices. If you are looking for something similar to south Indian filter coffee try the Flat White. Trust me. You will not be disappointed. Enjoy your stay in Edinburgh.

East mart street is certainly one of the more beautiful Costas in Edinburgh

This Costa house was not full when I went there on passing. The coffee was great as per normal. The place however was larger than most and facilities were very clean and modern. I would go back.
