Definitivamente recomendaré a mis amigos aquí:)!

Situated on the first floor of the Victoria Square Shopping Mall, the facility suffers from a lack of interested staff. With just two persons serving, another on break and a fourth staff member clearing and preparing, queues stretched to 14 customers at times, giving a waiting time of 10 minutes. No apology from staff for the wait and no smiles; just automatons doing their job. With an absence of any customer service, nearby facilities offer a welcome alternative for drinks and snacks.

I called into my local Costa Coffee store in ballymena today as I had received a voucher for a free drink. As a regular here who enjoys their coffee I looked forward to this. However when I presented the voucher I was told that this was for Costa UK and not Costa Ireland...! N. Ireland is in the UK I said only to be told it's not my fault! Unbelievable! So it seems Costa needs a geography lesson. In any event untill such time as they recognise N. Ireland as part of the UK I have destroyed my loyalty card as I will no longer drink at any of their stores.

Have been using this particular coffee dock for some period of time - generally quite good for a coffee and snack - but have complained in the past about general tidiness and the tardiness in clearing tables. Experiences since have shown a marked improvement in this area. So it was interesting to see what improvements have been made with the recent refurbishment project. Initial impressions very favourable - subtle changes to decor and chairs/settees re-vamped adding to a very relaxed atmosphere. Coffee still good.On a more general note about Costa coffee shops,I am not sure if they are franchises or one group- but there is quite a variance in the individual cafes. Victoria Square is very acceptable, as previously stated, Lisburn Road (opposite M&S) has an unique Chelsea feel butttt!!!! Lisburn Bow Street needs to be rubbed out and start all over again - untidy, dirty tables, staff issues etc.

One of the Female Barista Maestros tried to make a Frothy Cappuccino Three Times Without Success, so in the end we left and certainly will Not Be Returning. Arrived at 1745 and was served promptly. Sitting at the doors was a poor choice as the sensors picked up every movement outside the coffee shop resulting in the constant opening and closing of the doors. 3rd friend arrived at 1815. Leila, staff member was busy mopping & dragging furniture from the time we entered. After a while Leila was now checking the sandwich stock for what I can assume was the removal of best before date items off the shelf by placing in a brown paper bag. I am glad we didn't purchase any of this 30 mins earlier. The toilets were closed due to a leak with no alternative. My Italian friend is unfamiliar with Victoria Square. I am, so we decided to leave for her to use other facilities. My other friend went up to the counter and asked for a customer comment form to be told that there was none. I took a picture (as I always do to tweet when out). Leila approach me to ask, why are you taking a picture? and asked what the problem was? My friend explained about the persistent dragging of furniture for the duration of our visit and the lack of toilet facilities...Her response: it was a deep clean 'I am sure you have deep cleaned after Christmas' and if we had asked her to stop, she would have, She clicked her fingers as she was saying this! The toilets were closed because it was leaking into another store below. When I suggested that a notice would have been useful to customers on entry - her response: 'so you wouldn't have got coffee if you couldn't have a wee wee' (totally inappropriate)I explained that firstly from a customer view we should not have had to ask for the dragging to stop as this should have been something staff should consider when customers are still present and thanked her (Leila) for coming to talk to us.Her response: I look forward to hearing about your visit... IMy friends and I shall not set foot into Costa Coffee in Victoria Square ever again and we will tell all our friends.

Can't fault the comfortable seating and spacious establishment.I get the impression with only 30minutes wifi on freetime that costa want customers to have a rush hour.It only encourages costa punters to go into another coffee shop which offers continuous free WiFi.A fault at Costa Victoria Square is that customers shiver with the cold draft the sliding doors let in when the public outside walk past the entrance door.I've heard folk sitting close to door being so cold they go somewhere else that s warmer.costa has its good points, but it's definitely average.

Visited Costa at Victoria Square just about a week after it opened and as expected, it was packed! A queue had formed, (with about 10 people in front of us), but after waiting 30 minutes, (yes, 30 minutes!), we eventually got coffee and a table near the door. The coffee was ok, (not worth the 30 min wait), but the problem was the main set of doors were automatic. This meant every time someone walked past outside, the doors opened and, as you would imagine, this resulted in us freezing in the draught. Anyway, we put it down to teething problems and decided not to write it off at that stage. So, on Saturday past, after a hectic afternoon Christmas shopping, we decided to venture back at around 5pm for a hot, relaxing coffee, (or so we thought). The queue didn't look too bad, (around 8 people), so I joined it and decided to order the gingerbread cream lattes (we needed 2 of those for my mum and myself, and an orange hot chocolate for my 13 year old daughter). Once again however the queue moved really slowly, (there were 2 guys making the hot drinks, 1 on the till, also serving cakes, 1 doing hot food and 1 girl clearing tables - definitely not enough for a busy coffee shop on a Saturday afternoon, never mind the day after Black Friday!) The staff were doing their best, but it just wasn't going to happen! Eventually it was my turn. I ordered and paid for the drinks and then waited. The guys were completely frazzled and handed me an ok looking orange hot chocolate and 2 gingerbread lattes WITHOUT the cream, ginger sprinkles or mini gingerbread men! They had even forgotten to put the ginger syrup in one of them! When asked, they told me they had run out of everything, but didn't offer any alternative, or a partial refund. What I had paid £3.30 for, was actually no more than a normal latte, costing £2.20. It really wasn't so much about the rip off price, but the fact no one had taken the time to tell customers they had run out of things and allow them to choose an alternative. I was not impressed, but couldn't even complain because the staff were so rushed off their feet there was no one to complain to!So come on Costa, get your act together - Employ more staff and make sure you've ordered enough supplies, especially during the busiest time of the year! I'll not be back to find out, but at least don't let other customers have to put up with such dire service.

I called into Costa - Victoria Square for breakfast the other week. The café was very spacious & clean with only a few customers sitting-in but lots taking away. Good range of sandwiches/paninis on offer. The staff were friendly & brought my cheese & tomato toastie over when it was heated – which tasted really good. I have to say that Costa's Strawberry & Lime Cooler is delicious & I highly recommend it – the lime gives a real zing to the drink! My only problem with this Costa is the automatic doors! They are quite sensitive & open up whenever a shopper is browsing passed (they don't need to be walking that close to the doors either). As there is a large amount of shoppers walking through Victoria Square you can imagine how many times the doors open. I was tortured with the sound not to mention the draughts! I would advise if sitting-in that you choose a seat at the far left side of the café unless it is a very warm day & you need some air!

Three male staff on and none of them knew the words PLEASE or THANK YOU. The tables and chairs where dirty and the floor looked like it hadn't seen a hoover in quiet sometime. When they where bringing heated food out to people they had no clue where to find the people as they didn't bother giving any off the customers a number. I love Costa for several reasons. Firstly their coffee is delicious. It is my little treat to take my daughter there, sit down with a caramel latte and a sweet bun and relax for a while watching the world go by. As a breastfeeding mum, the staff are always very accommodating and make me feel very comfortable on their premises. I also once left a purse behind with a large sum of money inside and the staff were very honest and kept it safe for me. The experience from start to finish was excellent! I was greeted with a smile by a young girl and my order was taken quickly. The quality of the flat white that the barista made was second to none. He gave me my drink, asked if I needed anything else and smiled throughout. The manager seems to have a great group of staff here. I would recommend it to anyone!

Great coffee, reasonable prices and comfortable venue, and right where you can see the person picking you up, who needs more?

We ate at Costa in the Jurys Inn where we were staying. The Irish stew was a very small portion, not particularly nice and a very hefty £8+. I chose the chicken curry and rice at £9. 95 again a tiny portion in an oversized wide rimmed dish. It lacked in taste and the chicken curry was bulked out with potatoes! I won't be eating there again. There is an excellent upstairs bistro opposite which serves tastier food at a better price, better sized portion and in a better ambience. One to avoid!

Popped in for a quick toastie and a cup of tea at your Victoria Square.Greeted by a friendly barista with blonde hair; about the highlight of my visit. Toastie was ok, ham verging on the rubbery but served piping hot at an advantage. The interior was very cold and I felt I couldn't relax. Definitely needed the temperature turning up on the thermostat considering what a cold day it was.The staff are very chatty and very immature I've found on my visit. The female barista left momentarily to go outside and was followed by another male barista who muttered several lovely expletives underneath is breath. I wasn't very impressed by this.

Food and service is fantastic. Can be pricey but definitely worth it. Go here all the time when in Belfast. My recent visit for a graduation meal, the staff put tables together for us to have our meal which was nice.

I like coffee at GBP2.50 and good service-Costa Belfast delivers even when busy at Christmas. Well done all at Costa-much better than Frankie & Bennies (see other review!).

Standard cup of Costa coffee but the place was filthy. Dirty plates and cups on the tables. Not a smile to be had from any member of staff...clearly not enjoying their jobs!Coffee hit the spot though, can't really go wrong with Costa coffee in that respect.

Always call into Costa when we visit Vic Square and never fail to be impressed by the staff. Always really efficient and wonderfully pleasant. We were visiting Belfast for weekend and called in Sat & Sun both times serves by a lovely girl named Karen. I noticed how good she was on the Saturday and decided to look at her name tag on Sunday so we could send a comment. She definitely made a really good impression and Costa should be very proud of how well they train their staff.

I am a big coffee drinker. I used to always go to Starbucks, but in order to get a great tasting coffee & not just watery froth you have to ask for extra shots. Now I only go to Costa Coffee, no shots required for a great tasting coffee, serviced by friendly, helpfull people.

Decided to go for a quick cup of coffee and a snack. The place, inside and out was filthy. The tables, most were covered I used cups and plates and food. Our table was dirty and sticky, and the seats were the same. We watched one other lady walk around for ages trying to find a clean table, and there were only about 6 people in the whole restaurant. The staff were very slowly(only 2 to be seen in the whole shop), and seemed distracted. It was a total disgrace...in the end I didn't actually eat anything...couldn't wait to, leave...NOT a good image for Victoria Square or Belfast.

Great Coffee here; I use this place to meet up with friends and have a chinwag; for a quick burst of energy or when I'm in town by myself and need a good Lunch. Great service and not too pricy (unlike some coffee chains)

Decided to have a Chicken and Bacon Club heated sandwich today. After a few bites a realised something was not what it should be. I opened the sandwich to see, yes, some small slices of chicken, but also a reddish/pinkish paste type fine mince...with hard bits which I realise now was probably bacon grizzle. The taste and texture was disgusting. Certainly not value for money. Will never get it again. And will think twice about going to Costa again.

Costa - Belfast City Airport. As expected, good coffee. But, not as expected, terrible service – slow, wrong orders given to customers and, tables left piled with dirty cups and dishes. Not a lot of seats, and many taken up with folk “working” or even holding meetings. Extra seats available up a rather tight stairway which is not good for older or even mildly incapacitated customers, attempting to carry cups of hot liquid. My advice – bypass this COSTA and use the larger, more user friendly café’s through security airside

Costa is another chain, but it is a good alternative to Insomnia and Starbucks. Its coffee is a little bitter for me, but there is a decent selection of snacks. Not cheap but handy place to go for a snack and a coffee.

I recently went into a Costa purely because it was the only coffee shop around as I usually use independent coffee shops. Situated on the Boucher Road in Belfast, it's perfectly located for shoppers as there is no competition within walking distance, so I had no choice. It was a Sunday morning and since they open earlier than the retailers, I was left with little option but to go in. I didn't regret it though as I was pleasantly surprised by how friendly the staff were and there were none of the pretentious customers and staff I've witnessed on previous occasions in various coffee houses. I must just mention the lemon drizzle cake, it was amazing! I might just go back, simply to have another slice! Well done Costa, and your staff.

Visited a very busy Costa Abbeycentre three times over Christmas. Despite being so busy the staff where extremely pleasant and more than willing to help. My older daughter asked for something not on the menu and they where more than willing to oblige.

I'm a costa regular so went there on my trip to Belfast. It was as good as any other costa apart from the fact that not only did they not take my loyalty card, there was no sign about this on the window or in any kind of obvious way elsewhere. I know this is maybe a picky point, but I wasn't happy about it.

Having come from an Italian background I can tell you that good coffee is hard to find in Belfast. My drink of choice is caffe doppio macchiato. Believe me, getting a place that actually knows how to make it is not easy. Just because they say they sell it does not by any means mean they know how to make it. I have found that even for a chain, Costa Coffee are the best place in Belfast for a macchiato and that is what I set my standard by.

The temperature of the food was not very hot, and the choice was quite limited. Should consider serving smaller portions / light bites

The main chef was actually in the restaurant when we visited so perhaps that made a difference. The meal we had was terrific. Great choice of food. Their was 6 of us and we all had a great experience. Can’t fault it. Worth a try.

When will Costa ever get it right? Cafe Latte is NOT FLAT WHITE!! Flat White is a small non frothy double expresso coffee with just double the amount of milk to coffee. If I wanted a mainly milk coffee I would ask for a Latte or a Cappuccino.
