Good quality food at an amazing price, full breakfast with tea and toast for £7 the meat was excellent quality all from the local butcher. Friendly service that I can only describe as proper highland hospitality.

My wife and I were visiting the area and read the reviews. Very glad we did. The shop has nice simple meals that are filling. The people who are there make it an enjoyable time. The photos and other items from locals were reasonably priced and supported the mission of the cafe. I do regret to say I’ve almost eaten the complete bag of fudge in one sitting. Lady’s this is all your fault😃. I only wish I had a big glass of milk to top it off. It was so nice to learn about the area from such nice folks. We can’t wait to try the plum jam.

Cornerstone is a non profit making little cafe and thrift/second hand book shop in the village. It also holds a wealth of historical information about the village and its past. It hosts little local groups such as knitting and sewing, even diet classes and local walking groups meet here. The food is very reasonably priced and all the baking is home made baked on the premises and delicious. All the ladies that work in cornerstone are delightful, helpful and friendly. Fab place for a cuppa some great home made food and a catch up.

I popped in here by chance whilst visiting black rock gorge close by and I'm glad I did. The cafe it's self is simple but The staff were welcoming and very friendly and the food was lovely for the very cheap price paid. In addition to being a regular cafe it appears to operate as a community hub and also contains a small charity shop selling books and small gifts :)

We were tipped off about this Church of Scotland cafe/thrift store while we were in Inverness and decided to make sure that our lunch stop was in Evanton. The lentil soup and fruit scones were delicious and were priced for those on a budget -- in keeping with its mission to provide a welcoming, caring presence in Christ's name in the community. We were touched by the helpfulness of the staff in sharing their local knowledge with us. This type of help doesn't come on-line or in guidebooks. A wonderful place with amazing people.

Agree with the other reviews. This is an unlikely place to find at the end of the world. We felt welcomed and in the main enjoyed our stay. The only downside was the cost for the 2 of us. £200 for a snack, breakfast, plate of curry and a bunkhouse bed with no shower and a outside toilet seemed breathtaking expensive. To put this into perspective, we go to a nice hotel each year for a winter break, that's more than we pay per day at the hotel with vastly more civilized amenities. I do understand there are logistics involved at Cape wrath. However for an 'ordinary' local Scottish person I'd be looking to stay at sandwood bay and make a lunch trip to the cafe as I simply can't justify the cost/value. However, it is altogether improbably situated and a must experience if you are doing a long walk. Just be prepae your expectations.

This Subway has always been great; extremely friendly customer service, great food (sandwiches at other Subway’s are usually a bit burnt) and just an overall friendly Subway. However, since last year, this Subway has been closed; every time we walk by it is always empty, as in lights never on, same drinks left in fridge ect. You know it’s been closed a while when you see COVID guidelines telling you to wear a mask and that it’s mandatory; as well as other posters and such laying all over the floor. When searched on Google, it says “Temporarily closed”, however, it’s been well over a year at this point and it shows no signs of re-opening. We know some of the people who uses to work there and they just said that it’s “closed”. It’s a shame; the Subway should be sold if they don’t want to maintain or open it. Here’s to hoping that we ever see Subway Aviemore open again — I’m hoping 🤞
