Coriander in Harrow

Really sad to see what used to be a favourite restaurant, go downhill. Used to be a great local Indian restaurant - both eat-in and takeaway but sad to see the complaints around food hygiene and decreasing ratings. Customers deserve to know that their food hygiene rating sits surprisingly at 3/5 across the board.

Fantastic food and always a pleasure to dine here. Staff are attentive and efficient. Salim is always a wonderful host. We've been several times for family special occasions over many years. Today we went in honour of my Dad (RIP) as it was the ninth anniversary of his passing and Coriander was his favourite restaurant. It's always nostalgic dining here but in a good way. We have wonderful memories of many delicious meals here. We will continue to return.

Absolutely loved it :)Went for my sisters birthday meal and we had such a great time. Food was amazing and definitely one of the best meals i have had in a long time. The service by the 2 lovely men working there was just amazing, and they really looked after us. Would highly recommend

I’m not one to leave bad reviews but please please avoid- I ordered takeaway from here on Thursday and have had such severe food poisoning I have almost been hospitalised. It’s 4 days later and I’m still incredibly sick- I ate here before and was slightly unwell and (not by choice) ordered butter chicken again from here. It is insanely expensive for below average Indian food in any case, but their food hygiene standards are clearly below par as I have never been this sick. PLEASE AVOID.

If you know Indian food and appreciate the variation of the different dishes within Indian cuisine then this place is not for you, everything tastes the same and the 3 times I've been there (not out of choice) , it's given me an upset stomach. If it is genuine Indian food you desire there are other Indian restaurants a stones throw away that can offer you this. Choose wisely.

It's probably one of our worst restaurant experiences ever. Went with 3 others, we all had a drink and starters. We all agreed starters were very basic and not very tasty. Had no choice but to leave. Seriously, the owners need to eat at other restaurants and they will happily give their own a 1 star. Goodluck, your gonna need it.

The dishes are tasty. This is my first time here. Like all the dishes we ordered. But the service was a bit slow. Was busy on Saturday night.

Ordered butter chicken.. Literally a few stringy pieces in each serving with too much gravy. Not proportionate at all. It was really bland too. You’d expect an Indian dish to have adequate spice levels but their food levels had clearly been tweaked for the western market as another customer said below (glad I’m not the only one who thought this). Yes I complained. The manager has no care for customer service. Very ignorant to say the least. He did not wish to rectify my dissatisfaction and brought in contractual legalities such as”go and raise your complaint via the delivery app you ordered through”. I told him I’m well versed the legalities and to stop hiding behind the loopholes to avoid giving me another dish or a refund. He said he’ll give me 10% off my next order. “Why on earth should I EVER order again?” Please do not waste your money on bad food which came with even worse customer care/service. We are spoilt for amazing Indian food in Hatch End and I would never go back to Coriander! As another 1 star reviewer said below, take your business to Social Dhaba. I think the feeling was mutual as they could not seem to care less either about customer retention. I did threaten to take a public consensus on Pinner Parents Facebook group but writing this review was equally satisfying. You have lost my custom and also the custom of my network. Go and take a course in customer service and learn how to cook a non bland, generous, butter chicken whilst you’re at it!

Arrived at 2220 place was empty.kept being told we close at 2300 when it's 2330 on the website.didnt want me to order a starter as closing at 2300 . Felt under pressure to leave. Paid for what I had 1 drink and 2 poppadoms and left.even hard the nerve to charge a gratuity Went nextdoor to the Social Dhaba Welcomed with open arms albeit very busy Food excellent Social Dhaba from now on is my only choice in Hatch End

My partner and I ate here earlier this month and we really enjoyed it. We had chicken passanda, lamb bhuna, Bombay aloo, onion bhajis, and special fried rice. We also had cocktails. Everything was good quality, very tasty, and the portions were decent. I didn't particularly enjoy the dessert which was doughnut balls in syrup but it was OK. Next time, I'll try a different one. Service was very good, too; they were friendly, attentive, and responsive without being overbearing. I only gave the atmosphere 4/5 because we had an annoyingly loud group sitting near us but that isn't the restaurant's fault. This place will become one of our regulars.

These days great service AND great food can be hard to come by, but the service and good is ALWAYS impeccable from Coriander! Staff are always so polite and attentive and make sure you are well fed and happy by the time you leave! Came here for the first time after a few years and so pleased that this is still the case. Thank you for being so accommodating and making a night out for my Mum's birthday a lovely one!

The tandoori lamp chops. The duck breasts (Hashi Rani). Perfection every time. Plenty of fish and veggie dishes too.

One of the best Indian food restaurant. I am local at hatch end so going to coriander is convenient as well. Their food is delicious and well presented. Customer service is on point. Very respectful staff. Definitely recommend this place.

Last week they got our order wrong and true to the managers word this week he compensated us for it, with a brilliant delivery on time and a bit extra , and as always the food was delicious , thank you for honouring your commitment

Not what it used to be! The food is still great (albeit at higher prices), and service is okay. But what irked me this time is that in addition to the service charge, they now charge separately for the condiments (that are usually included with the poppadoms)! That brings the cost of poppadoms to 5£ per person.

Ordered tonight, driver did NOT even come down my road let alone deliver. Road and number was clearly marked! Was delivered elsewhere. No answer on phone, went straight to line busy for an hour. Then I gave up. NOT HAPPY.

Always heard great things about this place, today I got to experience it. Attentive, friendly staff, food was yum and lovely atmosphere . The aloo imli puri was yummy as was the other food but that was top notch!

Not authentic Indian,poor service too.

Had dinner here with a few friends. Food isn’t really spicy and i found it rather bland. It’s Indian food made to cater for the British audience I think. My English friends loved it as they don’t eat really spice food. My Gujarati friends felt the same as me. That authentic chilli kick was missing. The dishes were lovely. The tadka dal was well made and not lumpy and thick. Paneer was nice and soft. Naans were melt in mouth. Service was a bit up and down. After a warm welcome we had to get the attention of the waiter several times. Overall a nice evening out. Just wish the food was more spicy.

Amazing restaurant- i wouldn't go anywhere else in Hatch End. The service is exceptional. The waiters are polite, professional and go above and beyond to meet your expectations. The food is always superb- hot, tasty and varied. i would highly recommend this local restaurant.

Delicious Daal and Lamb curries, my favourite place in Pinner. Only request: please consider using plastic containers, paper/foil ones can get messy.

We were so disappointed with our last night's meal. It wasn't all bad, sadly, just our mains. My Shisika was not the beautiful tender chicken it normally is and my husband's Chicken Dansak had no flavour and tiny off-cuts of meat. Plus I forgot to use my 20% off text. Why are so many restaurants just not consistent any more.

Very bland food is designed for English people is not a good curry, no spices even tho asked extra hot was like a chicken soup, place is very overrated so many better options worst curry in Harrow don’t waste your time you’ll be massively disappointed

First time in the restaurant, one of the more pleasant experiences I had when it comes to Indian Restaurants. Food was on point, most hospitable staff, pleasant environment and most importantly amazing food, floor manger was really nice always looking on how to provide the best service. Highly recommended.

Ordered a slow cooked lamb shank. Had to wait. Came to the table later than rest of our order. Apparently still cooking. When it arrived could not cut realising lamb shank was frozen!!! So much for slow cooked! No apology, no discount and 10% service charge right!

First time getting a takeaway from this restaurant and was very impressed! The lamb bhoona was particularly delicious, will definitely come back.

I went in this restaurant 3 times years back. Nice place with car park,staff very friendly and tasty food with good prices.

The food is great, but the order has not been correct in 3 or 4 attempts. Wrong rice, or missing rice, missing dish. Extremely sloppy.

Wow, loved it so much, I forgot to take pictures. On this occasion this was a takeaway. The aroma coming from the bag was to live for 😆 Hoping, that the next time will be a dine in.

Staff are very kind and always around, should you need anything. Food is always tasting fresh and spicy. Definitely be an often place to dine.

Overrated undercooked chicken curry with no taste of methi. Chapati is more like a roomali roti with too much white flour. Paneer sabzi was full of cream and biryani was actually pulao. Not going to order again.

Haven’t had for around 8 months as I do feel had changed slightly ? Although I must state they are amazing , I was blown away tonight , wow , I’m in heaven . Worst Indian food we have ever tried,we have ordered vegetarian food, but didnt have any taste and onion bhajee was undercooked, and it was oilyyy and portion was so small and didnt have anyyyy taste, so disappointed.

Worst waiter service ever! Didn't attend to our table without us calling them everytime. Didn't do anything about a bad dish we got. And had the nerve to say reason for bad service was because they were busy! Waiters have zero customer service ability. And food was mediocre Wouldn't go there again!

They were able to sit us at short notice in spite of the fact that they were quite busy; also they are one of the few restaurants that have their staff wearing face covering

5 star service, amazing food, generous portions, nice atmosphere, covid safe. Faultless.

My friend and I visited Coriander in Hatch End at 9:15pm on Wednesday 19th August 2020. This was our first visit; we were looking to try out a new restaurant in our locality. The restaurant was full to capacity because of reduced seating due to Covid-19 social distancing implementation and the government’s Covid-19 £10 per person discount during August. 1) The poppadoms were very small, possibly the smallest I have ever eaten in 30 years of eating at Indian restaurants. 2) My friend ordered an onion bhaji as a starter, I skipped a starter, but 2 onion bhaji starters arrived. 3) My main course was Khulna King Prawn. The dish was tasty, but it had only 4 prawns for £15.90! 4) I wished to have an IPA ale from their menu – not available 5) Finally when we paid the bill in cash, they automatically added the service charge, and we were due £3 to £4 back in change. They took the receipt, the notes and never returned with the change. The staff had disappeared out the back as we were the last in the restaurant. We let ourselves out. In summary, the food was of good quality (7.5 / 10) but the quantities and service were poor. We left disappointed knowing that this will not be on our list of favourite restaurants and one we cannot recommend to our AirBnB guests.

I placed an order online for food to be delivered by 8:27 pm, payment made online-only that food never arrived, such a scam you pay for something as basic as food and the restaurant swindles your money. I am not just hangry I feel conned-to top it all the restaurant is taking advantage of government funded scheme of ‘Eat out to help out’ when you dine in. I’d never want to be a patron to such a place.

It was a Tuesday evening, the restaurant welcomed us without having a table booking. As Corona safety measures they did the temperature check first and then offered us table. All staff were wearing masks and the order took a little more than considered time but that is ok. Food was delicious , I recommend this restaurant.

Almost the same as before "C" day. They have worked hard to make it a safe experience and I believe it has been successful - food and drink was as good as before, only the table arrangement modified.

Really like going to coriander the food is always excellent the staff are attentive friendly the atmosphere is always buzzing.....cannot wait for it to open again... had A takeaway this week and yes it took 1 & 1/2 hrs but well worth the wait .

Dined there today and food wasn't as I expected. Ordered starters, chilli paneer and chilli garlic Mogo, the food wasn't "chilli", more sweet. Paneer tasted a bit bland compared to others I've had. Had to get the bill early as I wasn't willing to pay for mains if it was going to be the same. With that being said, staff was absolutely amazing and very accommodating, I did indeed feel bad that I had to get an early bill and explain my issues with the food because they were very nice! From the reviews I read alot of people have given good reviews so perhaps I came on an off day for the chef, may be willing to try it again in the future to see if they live up to all the positive reviews.

Living in NW London we are not short on choice when it comes to Indian Restaurants/Pubs but have to say that Coriander is amongst the best. Friendly service and excellent food . My Lamb was delicious.

One of the best Indian restaurants I've been to on a very long while

I have been to Coriander several times in the last 2 years and have always found it very good. Last Tuesday I had a take away and it was awful! The food had obviously been left over from the day before. I phoned up and complained, and they agreed that they would replace it. This is not the point, the evening was ruined

Plain Popadoms were old oil tasting tho spicy ones were ok. Good selection of sauces/pickles to go with. Waiter should have stayed at home rather than coughing over us. Be very careful when ordering sparkling water - £5.50 a bottle and no its nothing special. Onion bhajis were lovely, chicken dhansak is definitely one of the hottest I've had in the area, but very tasty. Rice is good, saag aloo delicious. Overall pleasant evening.
