Coppa Club, Clifton in Bristol, City of

An extremely disappointing experience this lunchtime with the non-existent service. We waited an age to be served, then ordered drinks and asked about food. The drinks took forever to arrive and no offer to take our food order. Again an age passed by and we had to ask for someone to take our food order. After waiting for another inextricable wait, circa 1 hour in total now, we decided against eating here and paid and ate elsewhere. What a shame as it promised so much but delivered very little. Thanks for taking 2 years to reply!

Food was okay but disappointing, and service was very slow during a quiet period

Visited with my family today. Service was poor, despite being greeted nicely by a guy who said he was going to look after us, we ordered with someone else and our food was served by another. No one asked if we needed anything or if our food was ok until we had finished. The garlic prawns were served on soggy bread and had no garlic. The kids meal for £14.50 was tiny and the starter was brought out with the main meal. The carbonara was so salty my daughter drank a large bottle of water with it. We then waited so long for the bill we had to ask at the bar if we could pay! Sadly, the food quality does not match the price point and the service needs a lot of work, not impressed Coppa!!

TERRIBLE FOOD!!! 4 prawns on a dry slice of bread with a lot of dry onion and fennel, horrible for our starters. DRY CHICKEN for main meal and a looootttt of red cabbage, that no one ate!! I will not recommend that place for food. Service was the only thing that was good about this place. Walk away, so many better places to eat in Clifton.

Lets start with the postiives, lovely surroundings, nicely decorated, feels lovely inside. Food is well presented and tasty but portions are small and pricey. You have to ask for tap water, they wont bring you a jug, unless you pay £1.50, so you have to ask to be topped up. We had booked a table, but they were surpised to see us and the table had to be set up before we could sit down. THe wine is nice, but is expensive and overall I feel the place is expensive for what it is. The server was very pleasant and did her job well, but It grates me that we are charged service on top which was £17. no one tips me to do my job well. Had a lovely evening, but I dont think I would rush back.

great food , service wasn’t great as we asked for all the food to come out at same time , brought half our meal half n hour before the rest , so it went cold , we made a complaint about this and were told a manager would come out , half n hour later still no one spoke to us , till grace who brought us our food helped , very lovely

We were in for brunch as a family group. As a venue it’s quite appealing and quite spacious. However our food order was lost, so there was a long delay before our order was re-taken. I opted for poached eggs on toast. When my meal arrived it was literally two small poached eggs on a piece of sliced-bread toast. I had thought it might be presented a bit more attractively or dressed up a little, but no. To say I was underwhelmed with my meal would be an understatement. It’s a shame because it’s a nice place and our table staff were quite attentive - the food just didn’t deliver.

Had a nice experience in this chain of Coppa Club. It was first time here and I had some great service from Harrison. The food came quickly and I was most impressed with the Coppa Club burger and a great selection of cocktails. I will be coming back again when I’m next in Bristol! Thank you Coppa Club.

Very delicious food and great service. Very kind and attentive waitress called Dani who made my birthday experience that much better. The sticky toffee pudding was unreal and so so tasty!! Would definitely come here again, thank you all at Coppa Club and particularly Dani :)

Lovely place to eat at. Food is always consistent, never had anything less than wonderful here. It’s a little on the pricey side but definitely worth it. They have some absolutely wonderful staff who are an assets to the restaurant but also others who I can see are clearly unhappy & would rather be anywhere else which really does make it quite uncomfortable. Overall definitely worth the visit, especially for drinks & nibbles ☺️

Came here for breakfast this morning and had the gorgeous Greek yoghurt bowl while getting some uni work done upstairs. I was served by the lovely Keira who had the friendliest smile and was very accommodating. Will definitely be back!

It is a great relaxed venue; pop in for a coffee, drink, or snack meal. No forced up saling. Plenty of room, miss the old Pizza Express and the huge picture of Peter Boizot on the wall.

Stella was a lovely and friendly waitress, we had a lovely experience will come again!!!

We came to the coppa club for brunch today, I had the skillet breakfast which was delicious and my partner had the garden breakfast which he loved. The service was great, attentive yet personable from Keira. Would highly recommend.

Great place to eat and drink with friends and family, we had brunch today, the food was delicious and our server was very knowledgeable and was happy to talk us through the menu and make some recommendations. We will definitely be back soon the staff in particular Harrison, made us feel extremely welcome and very well looked after.

First time here for lunch. Great food, the courgette fries were particularly good and it was a calm, relaxed atmosphere. Our waitress, Stella, was warm, friendly and very professional. Can’t fault the service.

Beautiful looking space, great furniture decor, we visited Sunday morning for breakfast, we had 2 flat whites which were good, a latte which was fine and a cortardo which was awful. Food was a granola bowl, really nice but not a lot of granola, eggs with avocado on toast was lovely, and 2 skillet breakfasts …. These were poor quality ingredients rushed onto a plate, Luke warm, and at £15.50 not good value for money. We had a good time but, I wouldn’t rush back.

We came for coffee. They reluctantly seated us. It was very quiet and there were six of us otherwise we would have gone elsewhere. The Matcha Latte was undrinkable - not mixed enough só big clumps of green tea powder were floating within waiting to surprise. The replacement drink took AGES. The croissant was like one you get from Tesco. Nice enough to chuck in a paper bag and eat with your take away machine coffee but not the standard you expect from a posh (looking) restaurant. I suspect the meals here are probably better but there are far better places in Clifton for coffee if you are fewer in number. This place looks lovely but my experience showed it was style over substance. Definitely a case of fur coat no knickers if my experience is anything to go by.

Really disappointed by the experience I have just had. Came previously and loved it but this evening we were served the wrong food and drinks and had the staff and manager argue with us. DO NOT RECOMMEND

I was a guest of a friend who footed the bill - which was oddly expensive for our small portions of unexceptional food and ordinary Shiraz. There was one exception... The greens salad was great - and generous! Coppa was pretty empty on a Wednesday lunchtime - no fires burning in the hearths. All a bit slack and complacent.

Food is good but the service is bafflingly bad. Bring your own water unless you want to keep asking the waiting staff to top up your glass from the only jug that serves the whole restaurant. Lovely architecture. Great coffee.

Went here for valentines day, even though it was busy the service was still amazing ! Great food and atmosphere. We had Harrison as our server and he was great from start to finish!

Great Italian/British food. Very busy, which did impact service time (lovely and personable servers!) but lovely decor and not too loud! The fresh pasta was good, albeit expensive for the portion size (even though it was labelled as a large). Can’t speak for any other dishes but had a lovely date night here.

More tapas choices would be great ...

Firstly got shoved in the corner by the swinging kitchen door. Food was mid at best. Majorly overpriced. Will never go to this chain ever again. Left feeling ripped off and really disappointed. Should have gone Taco Bell 🛎️

Popped in on Christmas Eve for a quick drink with the wife. Had an Iced Latte and it was one of the best I've had. Service was great, amazing atmosphere and had an excellent time overall. Also ordered olives and they were alright.

I go to Coppa every now and then as it’s a nice place in general.However, I went out for few drinks with my partner on a Saturday ( we didn’t dine there this time) and one of the waiters spilled the drinks all over us, my shoes, my partners trousers, my coat… it wouldn’t be that big of a deal, after all it’s not the end of the world. But how it was handled was very poor and unacceptable. The waiter did apologise but then he said, I’ll get you free drinks because he spilled them. Bear in mind that we already paid for those drinks that he spilled so he only replaced them. When I went to claim those free drinks we were offered as an apology for our soiled clothes, they said that we got free drinks already, even though I explained we paid for them. He said that you paid for the spilled drinks, we served you new drinks that you didn’t paid for so you got them for free and that they can’t offer ‘another’ round for free. I think anyone would agree that if a waiter spills drinks while serving that you already paid for, then replacing those drinks isn’t for free, since we paid for them. I now need to get my coat to dry cleaners cause it has Prosecco all over it. I don’t know what COPPA thinks customer service is but the least you could have done is to offer actual free drinks as an apology or offer the dry cleaning service for clothes you have spilled those drinks on. Customer service is clearly not on a Coppa’s Staff priority list, you will pay for dinner or drinks even if it ends up all over your clothes apparently. So rude.

My type of place, beautifully furnished and decorated it's an up market establishment lovely for breakfast lunch or a coffee and cake.

Place was very nice, some hiccup on the service (had to ask several times few things) but that really didn't prevent us from having a very nice evening

Been here twice, atmosphere and vibe always A1. Perfect for lunch and the low lighting in the evening makes for the perfect date night. Although our food took longer than they expected and there was an allergy issue that I forgot to mention because it’s quite an unusual one, they were super apologetic and attentive. Customer service from the manager and the gentlemen serving us was top tier. Food was banging as per usual and they even gave us a discount for our troubles, even though in my eyes, there was none. 100% recommend!

We stopped here on a midweek visit to the theatre in Bristol and thought we,d have some lunch. There is plenty to choose from in Clifton and all seemed good , but this seemed busier midweek and so had a nice atmosphere. The decor is lovely and the staff ate very friendly, we had the pizzette, calamari ,,lamb kofta and shin Ragu pasta and all was very tasty Would definitely revisit .

Lovely relaxed place for a bite to eat and a drink.

No idea what part of the cow it was. Looked weird, almost like ground beef but full of sinue and tendons. Couldn't cut it never mind chew it. Good service and comped one of steaks. Soooo, don't know, You might have better luck than us. But £80 for 2 of the cheapest steaks on the menu (both inedible) and a drink each... go elsewhere.

Coppa Clubs are hit and miss but this one is definitely a hit. The staff were really friendly and helpful , the location is great and we sat outside. We had the full english brunch which was great value for money and really good quality ingredients. Will be definitely coming back - one of the best we have been to.

Beautiful restaurant, great ambience and lovely staff. I went with my friend and we ordered a steak, a pizza, & calamari as a starter. Calamari and pizza were delicious! Incredibly fresh & well balanced. Salad with the steak had a tangy honey mustard goodness about it and fries were well-salted. Steak itself tasted okay, despite the chimichuri sauce.

Lovely surroundings and excellent service

Waited 10 minutes for 3 pints to be delivered to our table, after ordering at the bar. The place was at about 20% capacity so no reason for it to take this long. I went back up to the bar to collect the drinks in the end.

Food was lovely but the cocktails were terrible.

A quick, simple lunch before flying and it hit the spot. The food was a little disappointing, tasty but not authentic e.g carbonara had been put on steroids rather than kept to the simple Italian egg recipe. Staff were polite and attentive and the place was comfortable with a good atmosphere considering it wasn’t full.

Visited Thursday night just gone, squid tasted of rubber and stunk! Service was awful, too busy chatting among themselves. Given the price it was a experience we would rather forget.

**don’t normally write reviews but this was a horrible experience** Stopped for a midweek lunch date with my hubby and the main courses were by far some of the worst if the not the worst I’ve had in Cardiff! Being a foodie, I’ve been to most restaurants in the city!! Absolutely disappointing lunch! As you can see in the photos, the prawn linguine looked like it was instant ramen noodles with tiny pieces of frozen shrimp. Tasted as bad as it looked. My husband had the ragu pasta, looked much better than mine but still lacked in taste and seasoning. Major red flag!!! I will say though, the Parmesan croquettes were really really good for our starter. The service and vibes were top tier too. Probably won’t be visiting this place any time soon. Such a shame

Coppa Club provides a very relaxing vibe, the seatings are comfortable , food and drinks are great. Price value is good. Definitely visit again.

Quite disappointing. I sat for a long time waiting to order a drink outside and ordered inside in the end. Afterwards, the wait staff was quite good but my cocktail, despite being tasty, was more like a mocktail.

We had an early evening drink here and then came back for breakfast the following day. Highly recommend, the food was good, the staff friendly and the atmosphere very pleasant.
