Brilliant carvery great food and great value, our 3rd visit and the same every time,fab

Nice pub well located, paid car park but after paying at machine the staff said they could give us a ticket, but it was too late by then. No biggy though. Beer was very nice but a tat expensive, we mixed a few starters for light lunch, all very nice. Shame you have to go to bar now unless you qr code your orders, last time i came it was table service which was a nice touch and justified the elevated prices. Overall good pub.

Busy pub with great deals..especially for older folk..had the carvery which was lovely and hubby had fish and chips that was lovely too. Staff were attentive and friendly. Only change would be that the furniture was a little tired and would be nice to see an update . Car Park is chargeable but if you ask at the pub you can get a free ticket.

Great place for people watching

Came for breakfast. All you can eat breakfast but only serve u limited. The food was horrible, with no fresh eggs. All dried up, nothing for the kids apart from a luke-warm breakfast, no juice for kids, which is extra. What are they supposed to drink when u buy ur self unlimited hot drinks??? Service was crap. Pay for parking too.

Good food great service great price

We had a carvery last Sunday for £12, we found that the Yorkshire puddings, roast potatoes, stuffing balls(so tiny) and sausage which were also tiny, were all frozen. The mash tasted like it was powdered and the cauliflower cheese was definitely made from mostly water and hardly any cheese. We had to search for the sauce in the dish. Terrible. Would never go there again.

Called in today, Saturday. No staff. Ordered two coffees. Half hour wait as one member of staff behind bar. Dreadful service, refunded.

I've only been here for a drink whilst my partner did shopping but service has always been great and they are always accommodating to my disabled mother.

Disappointing breakfast, with instant coffee instead of real coffee. No juice. Otherwise a decent breakfast.

Wow what a great place to eat, well worth a visit, I can highly recommend the mix grill

Forty of us just had are Christmas meal at the Cook House everyone if us were very happy with the lovely meal we had after a beautiful walk.

Nice place, food was excellent & very reasonably priced.nice atmosphere to the place. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Only downside was parking, you have to pay & display. Not sure if you get refunded if you use the pub we didn't get to find out as there is ample free parking for your first 3 owners on the retail park across the road which is a 2 minute walk. Great experience & will definitely be calling in again.

My partner and I had the senior citizens mid week carvery, brilliant great choice of food for only £7-50 everything was nicely cooked and piping hot we will be eating there again regularly 👍

Just had a carvery and partner had Scampi. Treated like a queen, nothing was too much trouble. Felt relaxed and happy, both chef and young man attending to us were fabulous, I didn’t get the young man’s name but he really deserves recognition, you know who you, remember two old fogies and a chihuahua (throughly spoilt by you). Thank you so much.

Very polite, attentive staff, as soon as we walked in with 2 dogs, a very kind gentleman, asked if he could give the dogs some scraps from the carvery, he also brought over water for the dogs. The staff were extremely polite and professional. The larger, was extremely well kept and a very nice pint. My wife and friend had the carvery and thoroughly enjoyed it, it does say go large for an extra couple of pounds, my wife was very pleased she didn't choose this as she had more than enough. I had pasta which was very tasty. It was so good we returned the next day for my wife's birthday and again we were not disappointed. I would highly recommend the Cookhouse.

Good value carvery and good quality food. Family friendly, and a nice beer garden at the front. Nice and clean inside, but it looks very grotty at the back. When walking down the stairs from the railway station, it looks a mess. Shame as it doesn't leave a good 1st impression.

Not a big fan of little pots with chips or anything else in them , it doesn't work as you feel restricted to having small portions, not good when ya a big eater, please don't ask me what the black things where on the little silver pot are , but I think they were mushroom s Which I left. Ps the food was hot.

Good service from the staff. The ladies on the bar were genuinely friendly and all the staff were helpful. Definitely will visit again if I'm in Prestatyn.

Visited for the carvery. Decent food,hot and tasty. Really good value for money. No frills ,you get what you pay for. Pleasant staff, dog friendly seating in one area which is fantastic.

4 of us and baby came for carney Sunday lunch. Didn't have to book plenty room available. Food was delicious 😋 really enjoyed it definitely go again

Food is standard, allows dogs inside which is always an off put to me, service was average not too long but long enough. One guy that served me was nice and polite and understanding. Wouldn't go again personally but it seems to be a very busy popular place

Went in first time with family had carvery no roster beef left was not informed when ordering 😕

The worst mixed grill I have ever had it was only just warmer than cold, meat was dry the few chips served were cold egg was solid only decent part was the sausages although cold were a good quality. My wife's roast dinner was no better. I won't be spending any more of my hard earned there again.

On a very very rainy day,we were welcomed by super friendly staff. I had simple sausages and onion gravy and it was perfect. My partner had a beautiful lasagne. Lovely friendly pub. The reason I didn't score the highest mark for atmosphere was simply because it was fairly quiet due to the weather. Nothing the pub could about that. This is a genuine little gem of a pub. Cheers. It's OK for a roast dinner . Busy when we went to obviously popular . Free parking near by in retail park . Worth prebooking a table if you want Sunday dinner

One meal was not available after ordering and despite the alternative being cheaper, no refund was made. An additional side ordered and paid after the initial order did arrive, but the original side never arrived despite being paid for. The cheese bites were so overcooked that even the dog wouldn't eat them. Hanging kebabs were tasty but really tough and dry....the hand cooked chips were undercooked and hard. Thoroughly disappointing meal and the service wasn't great, nobody checked satisfaction or offered any welcome. Maybe Monday isn't the best day to go? Shame because it's a lovely looking bar.

First visit here. Nice friendly staff. One of the best carvery's I have had. Hot, cooked. Good size portions. Monday to Friday £9.95. Car park at the rear of the pub. Very good value. I will definitely be making more visits

My wife and I had the carvery and the food was excellent served by a very pleasant member of staff and the bar staff were very friendly.We arrived at about 1-30 very busy but had no problem getting a table, will definitely be going again.

It's okay here! Brekky good and service okay too.Sadly the car park at the rear has events on regularly such as face painting and cake stalls which closes the car park to customers and on a sunny day it's a nightmare so ... check what's on before you head in.

The food was overcooked and hard. It was lacking taste. It was swimming in oil The vegetables was dry. Not much selection of vegetables. The seeds was dirty

Place does a really nice Carvery, myself and the wife came on the motorbike from Liverpool since the food is that nice. Staff are amazing, always want to help when they can.

Went for a drink at bar for my sister n said I looked wobbly so they would not serve me after having 2 pints myself plus my sister is disabled who I went to the bar for u no what they say disabled ppl come last I think u need to book up ur ideas cook house because I am fuming with this being disabled

Great pub, food very nice! Friendly and excellent service, would certainly come again if in Prestatyn again. Background music nice too and toilets too.

Dogs walking around eating food from tables, hot dog was disgusting, chicken burger rock hard as burnt to a crisp. Moving guests to suit people who got there after us and put us with young children next to a group of noisy pissheads. Never again!

Visited The Cookhouse because they allowed dogs inside as long as they are well behaved and stay only in the uncarpeted dining areas. Food was nice although we had a bit of a wait to order food and drinks at the bar. We had also pre-booked a table but when we arrived and asked a member staff where our table was they just said they didn't know but would get someone to help us. Anyway after 20 mins waiting for someone to advise where our allocated table was we got fed up of waiting and just decided to sit at an empty table in the uncarpeted area for people with dogs. The staff were pleasant and welcoming, food was your usual pub food so we would recommend a visit if you are in the area. You do have to pay for parking!

Went here today last minute after the car show staff were not friendly at the bar ignored what you said . We had the carvery the chef who served was miserable as anything turkey was pink so asked to swap it over made the chef even more grumpy will not be coming here again

Food 8/10, gammon and chips needed more chips!! Carvery and fish and chips 10/10 Atmosphere was ok, music jumped up a few decibels at one point and made a few people jump!! Toilets were clean and had good acoustics, may have had some issues with the plumbing after my brother visited.

Food very good, service good, clean, down side the music was much to loud for a restaurant.

Absolutely stunning food. It's rare to find a carvery where the roast potatoes are as good as home made but they were perfect, as was the mash and the meat was delicious and succulent. The scampi was both decent quality and generous portions and the chips were proper twice cooked chips not the oven chips you get elsewhere. The Chicken tikka masala was cooked to perfection with a cute little naan bread. The service was exceptional, shout out to Cassie, Matt & Ryan for an excellent job that made us feel well looked after. Can't wait to visit again.

Steak under cooked, not how I asked for it and portion sizes like child portions. Wouldn't go back in a hurry.

Went here 3 times in a week with my mom and my hubby. Everyone very happy with food and prices on each visit. We will be back.

Had the carvery on a Sunday. It was amazing. Best carvery I have had out.

Came here just to look at what gluten free options there were, good selection so ordered the salt and pepper chicken wing box with extra hand cooked chips, was absolutely lovely. On this basis came back later and ordered a hanging kebab and the penne Mexicano my god the contrast was awful, my penne was so swimming in grease it was impossible to eat, the ciabatta 'toast' was just warm bread , I cook myself and know that pesto and chorizo contain oil but I don't want my food swimming in it (kitchen paper guys) also my partners gluten free meals was certainly not as he's been in agony all night after eating his meal and have had nothing to eat other than from cookhouse all day .......complained to the waitress who could clearly see we hadn't had more than two mouthfuls and was just met with 'sorry' took our plates then left. We are locals and would never eat here again

Had a great meal there with all the family,easy ordering at the bar and the food was delicious and came out quickly.Everyone enjoyed what they got,my 11 yr old got steak and loved it-was done perfectly the way he asked for it, burger i got was perfect too.Will definitely be back if on holidays there again

Went for carvery and it was good value for money. Everything tasted grate, but they ran out of gravy and it was over 15 minutes to bring some to the table after having to ask 3 times for some, food was going cold at this point.

It's a lovely place, we didn't realise parking was free until we went in as it didn't say anywhere outside. Really nice place. the food was great. Prices are very expensive. 5 meals and 5 drinks for 70.55 (3 being kids). Play area is better for big kids not so much the young ☺️

Went for a meal with friends 3 of us had fish & fried roast potatoes sold as chips fish batter was burnt and 2 of us waiting for food while the other 4 guests are half way through their meal no where as nice as the last meal we had there..

We were down on a break in the area and decided to pop down for breakfast. The building was closed with no sign’s up explaining why. Very disappointed after we needed to pay for parking before approaching the premesis.

We ate here last minute after arriving at prestatyn in the evening. The staff were lovely the food was outstanding and well worth what we paid. We ordered from the menu but the carvery looked and smelled beautiful. The chips were delicious with a roast potato vibe and the ice cream sundaes were the nicest we've ever had, our waitress was friendly and so efficient and professional even though the poor girl had hiccups 😆 we'll definitely eat here again next time we visit.

Been for carvery today. Its not the best carvery. However my review is the carvery chef today had a proper chip on his shoulder. He should not be in this job if he can't even be polite without huffing and puffing. Not impressed.
