Continental Eaterie in Newport

Booked for a family of 5 to eat lunch. The lady who seated & served us was really friendly. She interacted with everyone as if they were family. The food was beautifully flavourful and hot when it came out. There are specials, cakes and other items available. The garlic mushrooms were delicious as was the moussaka. Can’t wait to come back and try the other items on the menu.

Fantastic Food, Great Service and made to feel really welcome. This was our first visit but definitely won’t be our last. Highly recommended

Atmosphere okay, service good but the food is overpriced and appalling. Avoid except for coffee. The moussaka was okay but portion was too small for price, salad was brown.

Obviously took too long with our coffee. Was asked to go as table needed for someone to have lunch. We were on our way anyway. But really ? Realize it's a small area. But you do not ask someone to leave.

Popped in yesterday after for a meal. Had not been there before and had never eaten Cypriot food either. Very pleasantly surprised. A friendly place with a good selection, The food was well presented and delicious. Greek wine is lovely too, it turns out! The changes to the meal items I requested were done as needed. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Not too expensive either,

I used the take away service due to covid restrictions but was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. The staff was friendly and hospitable explaining the different dishes on offer. Hopefully Iwill be going back myself soon.

Lovely fresh food, a little taste of the Mediterranean in the centre of Newport. Try the stuffed vine leaves 👍

I love this place. Have been visiting this place for many years. Julie and Michael are both lovely people, who I am now proud to call good friends. I usually have Greek food and wine as I love Greek food and visit Greece at least once a year. Michael is Greek Cypriot and although he prefers to cook French food, his Greek food just takes me back to Greece. There is a large variety of Greek wines and beer. The majority of customers are regulars and are known by name by both Julie and Mike, it's like an extension of your family. Always recommend this place and meet friends here for lunch/coffee regularly.

Came with friends for tea and cake, we all had tea and different homemade cakes which were very nice and we enjoyed and the price very reasonable The owner was very friendly and we will be back to try the lunch menu.

Delicious Greek cuisine in a delightful setting. Excellent choice of wines. Julie and Michael are fabulous hosts, very helpful and attentive. A perfect evening! Can't recommend this little gem highly enough!

We had a lovely meze lunch for 14 of us today. We had a warm and friendly welcome. Food was fab and just kept coming. Everyone had a great time and we will be returning.

We visited today, a total of ten friends and were served the meze option! Wonderful food and service. Every plate of food was delicious, freshly cooked and tasty. Very pleasant, efficient service but completely unrushed . We will definitely visit again.

I took my 6 year old daughter for lunch here today, couldn’t recommend highly enough! The service was really friendly and informative and the food ( I had moussaka, she had meatballs) was home cooked, authentic and delicious 😋 they went out of the way to accommodate us, bringing extra portions of food for my six year old ( which they did not charge for!) and basically proving my point as to why I always choose to use independents over chains! Lovely atmosphere, definitely recommend!
