Comptoir Libanais Gloucester Road in Kensington and Chelsea

I’ve visited Comptoir Libanais on Gloucester Road and in Chelsea, and both locations are fantastic. The atmosphere is really warm and inviting, with lovely, colorful décor that makes the whole place feel vibrant and unique. The food is incredible—packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. I had the mixed grill, and it was just right. The portions weren’t too big, unlike what you might get at other Lebanese restaurants, which I much preferred. Everything tasted so fresh and beautifully balanced. The staff were friendly and attentive, making the experience even better. The service was quick and efficient, but you never felt rushed. Overall, it’s a great spot for anyone who loves good food and a relaxed, welcoming vibe. Definitely a 10/10—I’ll be coming back for sure!

Very expensive, bland food with small portions. So close to many London attractions, they are not short of customers so one would expect a better experience

We went to Comptoir Libanais in Gloucester Road on Saturday. The food was absolutely delicious. There is no availability to book on line but we hadn't realised we could have made a reservation over the phone ( our mistake!). As a result the restaurant was full. However, Daniel, I assume the manager that day, couldn't have been aand more helpful and found us a table in the lower level. The service was excellent and the staff were very friendly. We would highly recommend.

This is my go to place for food!! Me and my brother had Ashish as our waiter and he made sure to deliver some amazing and fast service. The aesthetics of the restaurant are also really warm and inviting, so it’s easy to get comfortable- not only that the food was incredible, really filling portions and had diverse flavours.

Good experience. I recommend. I really liked the chich taouk, not dry at all, on the contrary very tender, a soft rice pilaf and very well seasoned raw vegetables, as I don't usually like raw vegetables. I liked it too much.

Apart from the decoration which mixes the countries of the Maghreb as well as Lebanon with the floral decoration which is not to everyone's taste, I find that it is too busy and it also reflects the tastes of the dishes and their identities. A tagine if you don't know how to make it, don't make it or do it correctly. I'm not teaching you how to do it but I just want you to respect the culinary art of each traditional dish to put it in the spotlight. It’s about mixing specialties but you have to know how to master them. I was very disappointed.

disappointed with the service, a chicken tajine that looks more like the remains of a stew served in bowls of soup....only the decor, as in the advertisement, is disappointing and I apologize to my dear guest for the bad choice I made in choosing this restaurant.

A diverse Arabic restaurant with a distinctive taste in the Kensington area

The restaurant is nice and functionally furnished. You shouldn't expect pink, elegant or hip furnishings. This doesn't make the food any better if it were. But the food is really great. The soup was super hot, the main course was also freshly cooked and hot. Service was very nice. We had two waiters who took turns. When it came to tipping (10%) I was asked if I was really sure. I answered yes. The waiter thanked us 4 times. Overall a great experience. I would like to go there again.

The lebanese servant was rude and aggressive. Uncalled for behavior when my family and I were just trying to order some food. We cancelled our order and left. Never returning to this place again. It seems from other reviews that this is how he normally behaves with customers and management isn’t doing anything about it.

When you hop off a tour bus and the first thing that greets you is a Lebanese restaurant and you have been dying to try Lebanese food, it’s fate! The vibe here is very welcoming, and the decor places you in an outdoor restaurant overlooking a desert view except you are inside. Foliage and flowers hang and decorate as well as colorful art and unique furniture. This is a place where I felt like taking off my shoes, grabbing a pillow, putting my legs up with a platter of something warm, drinking mint tea, chatting with friends while the meal was cooking. The hospitality was amazing, and the food even better. Start with the Mezze Platter, a nice combination of hommos, baba ghanouj, tabbouleh, falafel, natural labne, cheese sambousek, warm flatbread, and hot pickles. This pairs well with the Kiara Clos St. Alphonse Rouge and hot Fresh Rose Mint Tea. This meal begins with the eyes, everything on the plate is a work of art, and the mix of flavors is a tantalizing experience for your taste buds. If you have always wanted to try a Tagine, have the Chicken & Green Olive. It’s chicken, carrots, lemon confit, green olives and I prefer couscous over quinoa whenever I have the option. For those looking for a meat free meal, the Aubergine & Chickpea is eggplant, tomato, onion and chickpeas over quinoa. My only mistake was not ordering kebabs, I saw them float by and land on other tables and the smell had my eyes following and my mouth watering. Since I would enjoy nothing more than to visit this restaurant on my next trip to London, I will make sure I complete that mission with the next meal. I really had no idea what to expect, I figured Lebanese food would have some similarities to Persian food but wasn’t really sure, and I am glad we made the decision to give Comptoir a “go” as they say in England! Yes guys, the service charge is already included on the ticket, but since the hospitality was wonderful, we left an additional tip, but it’s not expected. You will also see VAT (value added tax) included, so no need to question the staff like they are over charging you. If you are looking to expand your culinary adventures, this is a great place to start. The restaurant is a work of art, the food is amazing, the service staff welcoming and warm. A meal that satisfies you and at the same time is delicious. I ordered chicken kofta (kebab) and spicy potatoes, and the food came quickly and hot 👏.

VERY EXPENSIVE compared to the tiny portion size. One tiny flat bread costs more than 2 pounds, and this is a Lebanese/Arab restaurant, so most visitors expect to order bread. I would never go back.

My oldest and dearest friend introduced me to this absolutely amazing food as he has been recently travelling extensively all over the world. The food is fantastic and the service and atmosphere was above and beyond any expectation I might have had. Not only that, you would have thought that being in one of the most expensive areas of London, the prices would be ridiculous but no, very very reasonable. They come HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Interesting place, mixture between Lebanese and Moroccan style. Tasty lebanese food, probably also the Tajine, but I didn't tried it this time. Staff is friendly and helpful. For sure again.

We stopped in for a bite and happened to arrive at happy hour. We were able to pick and choose a few menu for a really great price. Everything was so good, but the potatoes and hummus really stood out. The decor inside the restaurant was super cute and casual and everyone was so friendly as well. I would definitely recommend checking them out.

Good food Cosy atmosphere Bad point they charge you 12% for the service, you figure it out at the end when it comes to pay. Am not even sure it's written somewhere I did not see it to be fair and I find this absolutely nonsense and a lack of honesty. Be true and honest towards your clients and for your prices it's abusive. Try to review that charge or at least make sure your clients get the info.

Comptoir Libanais in London is a gem of a Lebanese restaurant that both my wife and I absolutely love. The vibrant, colorful décor instantly transports you to the Middle East, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. We ordered the mixed grill and the mezze platter, and both were simply delicious. The mixed grill was perfectly cooked, with tender, flavorful meats, while the mezze platter offered a wonderful variety of traditional Lebanese dishes, each bursting with authentic flavors. The service was friendly and efficient, adding to the overall excellent dining experience. Highly recommend for anyone craving a taste of Lebanon

Had the friendliest manager take my order. He was so kind and cheerful he really made my day. Plus the food is delicious. I absolutely love their lamb wrap and lemonade. Great place for both a meal and a takeaway.

The best part of my meal was the water. I ate roasted salmon with traditional salad, fattoush. The fish was nicely cooked, but I didn't like the creamy sauce it was bathing in. The salad, on the other hand, was inedible, way too salty and bitter. Even when I told this to the waiter, I still had to pay for both this terrible salad and the service. All the waiter had to say was like, "Oh, I will let the schef know."
