Dined in yesterday and had probably one of the worst food experiences to date eating in a restaurant. Ordered the jollof rice with beef and was seated at a table that appeared to have not been wiped down properly. It was a cold night and was really raining outside so was pretty soaked. The restaurant was stone cold with no heaters on to my dismay. Food arrived promptly but had noticed something off about the rice and quickly realised it was gone off. I then complained of the smell and the taste as it was sour and clearly gone bad to the host who proceeded to use a spare knife in front of me to taste the foul rice for himself. I was actually quite shocked by this as you can imagine. After realising I was in fact right he whisked my plate away to come back some minutes later with a fresh plate, and explained that it was a gone off ball of fresh pepper that was added to the rice not the batch itself. I find it very hard to believe anyone can cook with ‘fresh’ ingredients and not notice when they are spoilt and have never experienced anything like this. This second plate was without the spoilt taste , however was completely lacking in any flavour the rice just tasted of salt no seasoning or typical jollof flavour and the beef stew tasted like a gravy you would put on a cheap Sunday roast. Nothing Nigerian or authentic about the food here at all. I honestly would have refused to pay for the main however I had read a review of a woman below who had a another negative experience who was locked inside of the restaurant so paid my bill and have made a mental note to never come back. They should really close this place down.

BEWARE. I ABSOLUTELY DO NOT RECOMMEND. I am going to the police to deposit a complaint. I ordered a meal that was absolutely disgusting and quite spicy for me. Had NO idea that jollof rice required a whole bowl of spice. I have ULCER and kindly told him I couldn't eat it. I BARELY touched it. The person I assume who owns the restaurant requested that I pay for a meal I BARELY touched. I asked him if I could order something else at that price, he refused and proceeded to LOCKING ME INSIDE THE RESTAURANT!!!!!!!!!! WITH KEYS. I was ALONE with 2 men!!!!! I eventually paid as I was quite scared of my safety. He also approached me and asked if I knew who he was. I will deposit a claim. And will plaster this all over Nigerian blogs. Locking a woman in a restaurant for HORRIBLE food is insane. DO NOT GO HERE. You've been warned.

DO NOT GO HERE. Horrible customer service. I ordered jollof rice, it was way too spicy for me. I asked him if I could order something else at the same price, the man serving me refused and proceeded to LOCKING ME INSIDE THE RESTAURANT WITH KEYS. I am on my way to the police station to deposit a complaint. I was locked in with 2 men! He then approached me yelling "do you know who I am". The most horrid experience I've ever had in a restaurant. If you value your palette and your safety, DO NOT GO HERE.

Well, I just purchased a pickup meal £3.30 for the very 1st time yesterday Tues 7th 2023 from Planet Organic Tottenham Court Road London as I am a Vegan. I cycled from Victoria to picked up a bag of their food at around 8.30in the evening, and when I got home to my surprise I saw there was 4 tubes, 2 of which were plain really oily cold rice another limp and tasteless cold cabbage and the last a small portion of eggplant which had some flavour but was still too oily. I heated up the food but it tasted like slop. I honestly thought most of it was filler the rice & cabbage part and tasted bordering stale. There was no thought given to the variety & quality which I had assumed would be of a better quality as Planet Organic title is misleading... I was deeply disappointed by this 1st try of the app & can not honestly bring myself to try it again after this experience which doesn't give a good example ...so I'm a bit weary of using it again. I'm used to eating healthy and avoid coffee, cakes , starch etc, thinking my 1st ever choice would be at least healthier...I was wrong and felt palmed off with substandard food! I have no intention of using this app again or ever shop at Planet Organic - that's for sure and will warn others to avoid doing likewise ( especially the Planet organic purchase) I just wasted my journey, time & money on a substandard experience! if you are a Vegetarian or Vegan or if not, it still adds up to food I wouldn't give to an homeless person to tell you the truth , when I got home I attempt to eat this garbage but had to bin the rest leaving a bitter after- taste and a feeling of eating something soiled - unfortunately! Avoid!!!

The interior is quite boring and dim. The customer service is quite stern. Food wise, it was not at all impressive. There are certain standards you'd expect of Nigerian dishes, but this place doesn't meet the lowest threshold. The 'asun' is just fried meat, 'suya' was just fried meat dusted with paprika. This restaurant wouldn't survive in London. When I was there, there was only one person taking orders, cleaning and serving. All in all, it should take the work serious or just pack it in.

I must tell you they cook very good, a reasonable menu prices and well packaged!! OMG a big thanks to the owner, God bless you for the people of Glasgow. Worst experience ever! To start with, the restaurant is supposed to open at 3pm (as per their official opening times) but they open as they please, of course after 3pm. The prices are outrageous - they charge 3GBP for a little extra stew on your soup. The egusi that I had was brown not yellow. I cook better egusi and I'm not even African. All the Nigerians at the table were complaining about the taste. The owner is very rude and not aware that this is not Naija, it's UK and they should work on their customer service skills as per the standard they see elsewhere in this country.

First and LAST time ever going there. The stew tastes of butter, the chicken was stale and the rice had no taste nor did any of the food have any spice added. Customer service is really poor. Guess that's why they don't really get patronised. I hope they improve and get to attract many more folks x.

The waitress was very rude and told us to hurry up and order because she was too busy. She even refused to take a drinks order first saying she would rather do it all at once coz she cant be bothered going up and down. When she didn't have what we ordered she gave us an alternative dish which was double the price without even telling us. The chicken was not fresh at all it was stale. The egusi dish was good though and the owner of the restaurant is nice. If a child drops something she gives them horrible looks and make them uncomfortable. I will not be going back there i will just stick to Calabash where the children can be happy and the atmosphere is better.

My guess is because of the limited access to Nigerian restaurants in Glasgow, Comforters is over hyped. With calabash (a very rubbish restaurant) being a their only competition, they can get away with most things. The restaurant is hidden and very poorly decorated. There is no form of ventilation and the chairs are worn out. The menu is poorly written and presented. My food was not bad although it wasn't fresh. I have had better nkwobi. My friend ordered grilled catfish and plantain. Unfortunately the fish was stale. It was not my worse dining experience but definitely not close to the best.

This is one of my favourite places to eat in Glasgow. Comforters has a very authentic African feel to it. If you just want to go to another American style sports bar for burger and chips this not for you! But if you want a big bottle of Guinness from Lagos, friendly atmosphere, amazing Grilled Tilapia, Suya, Plantain and Jollof rice this is the place to go.

I've been here twice and each time had a fabulous meal. The tilapia and plantain dish was delicious, as was the jollof rice. The staff are very friendly and happy to chat. The surroundings are no frills by western standards but that makes no odds, the food is fantastic and great value for the size of the servings. I will definitely return and have been recommending to friends and family.

It was our first time trying African foods, and I believe that we made the perfect choice. I tried the pounded yam and egusi soup and husband tried the nyama choma. Wow. We ended up ordering extra portions to take home! The lady taking our orders (I think she's also one of the chefs?) was very warm and helpful. She even gave us a plate of fried yam chips, on the house. We LOVE this place. We will definitely return.
