Every time we travel across the border back to Glasgow we always try and get ourselves along to Coias for a breakfast before heading back south. And every time it is 100% worth it. Just the best. The restaurant is full of character. The staff are just spot on. But this time, whilst the others went for lovely fancy options. I was feeing homesick and had to just have two morning rolls with square sausage. Epic. The food is immense. Too many nice things to choose from. Coffee is cracking as well. Please don’t change a thing.

It was my 21st birthday and booked weeks in advance to make sure it could accommodate 7 people. But had to wait up to 45 minutes (outside in the cold, where they kept telling us to move back) due to “someone paying the bill” and “kids being kids.” I will note it was Mother’s Day weekend so I wasn’t expecting it to be quiet. Just assumed if I had booked a table for a certain time I would get one. I think the handing of tables needs to be a bit better organised and it wasn’t the waiters fault. It just threw of all the other plans I had organised. But the food is always lovely!!!!

Good food although the top of my steak pie was overcooked.

As always, it’s a great experience. The only thing I’d suggest is spacing the tables out a bit - it felt a bit close with no privacy and congested around chairs.

Turned up to a very busy cafe for breakfast. . Seated in the most awkward position in the restaurant! Had to stand up every time either staff or customers wanted past. Eventually was moved to an adjacent table, which was mildly better. Requested my tea when breakfast was being served. Twice the tea came out by two different staff members before the breakfast was served, and was promptly sent back. Not good. The food was then served and was well below the standard I was expecting. The bacon was too fatty and salty. The scrambled eggs were too milky and the black pudding was tasteless. I’m led to believe their Italian food is very nice but sadly I won’t be back to try out!

7th of December 2024 was the first time trying coias cafe for my birthday meal. The food was amazing and was so tasty. Both food and drinks menus have so much choice to choose from plus extras on the menu as in cakes and milkshakes. The service was really quick and the atmosphere was great to was really busy. I highly recommend coias cafe to anyone who hasn't tried it yet, I will definitely be back over and over again.

Just lovely, book, very busy, but they didn't miss a beat. However, tables are a bit squashed together and no turkey dinner choice on the Xmas lunch time menu, which seems like a mistake. The food was well presented and tasty and reasonably priced. Not suitable for wheelchairs as they are so tight on space.

Coia’s is an absolutely beautiful restaurant & such delicious food as always , the staff also went out their way & sang happy birthday to my mum & made her feel so special, thank you for a lovely night & great service.

Had a lovely meal here at the weekend, food fab and service excellent. Portions very generous but managed to eat the lot! Pasta is best in Glasgow hands down. Ditto apple crumble. Great atmosphere n lovely surroundings - relaxed not at all stuffy or formal. Fav place

Returned after a let down on our previous visit Bang bang shrimp excellent Pollo in batter and chilli lovely Lasagne was excellent, best ever tasted Mixed grill was again fantastic Wine was great and again I was on the Soda water and lime, nominated driver again Far better then previous visit, keep it up Alberto

There was an understandable delay of around 15 minutes in reaching our reserved table as the restaurant was so busy. Thereafter we enjoyed a lovely meal in friendly, comfortable surroundings. Thank you very much!

The place has a lot of history and is very busy with good staff, but for me the food was not very warm and what I had was not the best but I know lots of people have a great love for it so maybe I was unlucky

Took my mum there for her birthday, we didn't order anything fancy pizzas and pasta and it was not great. Very disappointed if you are looking for lovely surroundings and mediocre food then you will love it.

Popped in on my own for a breakfast and opted for the cowboys breakfast and I was sensational. A latte,OJ n double espresso all for 25 quid.

Traditional restaurant, with varied food and well-kept facilities. The pasta was especially good and the staff was attentive at all times.

Unbelievably busy restaurant, staff are efficient, friendly, courteous and professional, cuisine is competitively priced and our selections were tasty and portion sizes were generous.i would recommend Coia's to anyone.

Damn, that was a disappointment. "Fresh cream & garlic" carbonara is enough to put most people off, but given the price, this one really got to me. Unfortunately, they didn't have the wine in stock we wanted, but gave us a more expensive one without saying it was more expensive...The waiter was terribly awkward. We were also given a gin glasses for our wine? Given this place is meant to be quite fancy, given the price and fantastic decor, there were so many fruit flies! Genuinely shocking. Again, on the menu they have a bit of an odd situation where you can order a margarita pizza and a simple pasta as two separate dishes, OR you can pay an extra £6 in their "Half and Half deal" to have both dishes cut in half and served together....why?? The redeeming factor was the pizza being excellent. I also go to the takeaway frequently which produces some great ice-cream and nice hot chocolate. I previously had breakfast here and that was a better experience, though the prices still shocked.

Breakfast was excellent, very good quality produce, lovely caring and efficient staff. Great atmosphere. Would highly recommend. Definitely will go back, and really good coffee.

As a regular customer at Coia's, once again I can say everything about this restaurant is perfect. Very busy when myself and friends went there on Saturday, so we had a short wait before being seated. One of the lovely waiters asked us to wait in the delicatessen part of the restaurant so that we didn't have to wait outside. We didn't have to wait too long and then placed our order. To our surprise and delight, a waiter came with a bowl full of lovely crusty bread, and a great spicy dip - it must have been because of the wait - how lovely and generous ! The meals as always were delicious and worth every penny. The service is always unbelievably great and the staff can't please you enough, always making sure you're happy. I can't say enough about this brilliant family run place and would highly recommend to anyone. Thanks to all at Coia's !

Party of 3. We have been before last year and it was absolutely great so excited to go again when revisiting Glasgow. We ordered the same as last time. Big difference in quality and quantity was apparent. Fish was good enough but not as good as last time. Apple pie was miles apart. Last year we were served a lovely (felt like homemade) apple pie square with lovely vanilla ice cream. This time it was like a Mr Kipling apple round served with tinned squirt my cream. Edible and mediocre at best. Service was ok but not warm. After leaving and paying realised the overcharged as well (which was probably an accident and I now should have checked the receipt more carefully before paying). Won’t rush back sadly.

Only my second time here, it's got to be the best cafė (too small a word, doesn't remotely do it justice) in Glasgow. The food is great, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming and the service, especially, is 5-star. Can't wait to go back.

A great, very busy restaurant situated in the Dennistoun area in Glasgow. Coias has been serving customers for decades and it's as popular as ever. For my main course I had the Salami, Pepperoni and Sausage Pizza which was very tasty (sorry no pics of it) For my desert, I had the Chocolate Chip Cheesecake with a Cappuccino (pics below) Big shout out to the waiting staff, the service provided was excellent. We went early afternoon on a Saturday and it was packed so booking a table is recommended.

Total shocking tonight ask to move I’ve so a member of staff could stand on my seat to get to some wine stored above the seating. Then 20 before the end of the meal there manager clearly told us porkies as they had another booking and needed our table we have a email from the booking our meal finished the table booking 7.15 we where asked to move at 6.50 after spending £255 and £60 at the take away to take home total farce and your manager you certainly are not your father we will not darken your door ever again don’t think your attitude was very professional not even saying the two deserts being comped it was your fault we did not go over our booking time .. in the simple words shocking hope the people that book the table after only book off your special menu times must be good when you treat paying clients like this you horrible horrible little obnoxious little small man enjoy you restaurant.you book at table go get a watch and time your food as they are so desperate to get you out everything is rushed

As I only came here for a fish supper, I can't comment on the wide selection of Italian food Coia's has to offer, but if it is anything like the fish supper we had then it's likely to be very good. White, flaky, fried to perfection and not in the least bit greasy. As for the chips, they were also cooked to perfection. The place itself, although always busy, has a nice ambience. The service we received was professional and not over the top. I will update this review once I've been for dinner, but for now, 5 stars. The fish supper was outstanding.

First time dining here. The food was beautifully presented and tasted amazing. There were plenty of choices. Surroundings are beautiful. Staff could have possibly been more attentive but no major issues.

Was visiting from london a few weeks ago and came here for the first time. Food was excellent lots of choice and the ice cream was delicious. We came back up this week so had to pay another visit wasn’t disappointed food was excellent again. This will definitely be our regular place anytime we are visiting scotland.

Family lunch fabulous food & service

Booked the restaurant for my Dad's birthday. Got a great booth seat by the window. The food was delicious. My Dad enjoyed the seabass. My mum and I had traditional fish and chips. My husband had a regular pasta dish. So there is great variety on the menu. The staff were welcoming and attentive. We went on a Friday evening, so there was a nice vibe. It was busy without being noisy.

A fabulous dining experience, food amazing, excellent service, great ambience, our new favourite place to eat, will be returning with friends
