You come here for the atmosphere, the coffee and food is nice too (although a bit pricy) but the environment is really what brings people in id say, its a lovely place to have casual conversations at .

A must visit, I know I’m coming back, easy music playing and the atmosphere is perfect, friendly helpful staff and coffee options and cakes food. Had to be my top three coffee shops of all times. Kids drinks so the family can come and even some good board games incase you fancy being competitive with friends and family. Decor is amazing. Well done to whoever designed it. 👌

I had an incredibly tasty chicken burger here along with a matcha latte. The chicken burger was lovely but the matcha latte was perfect. Really love the eclectic design of the cafe.

Best coffee I've ever had in the UK. The coffee shop is also a good mix of quirky and cozy. It just manages to stay under the line of hipster cool. A great place to put your feet up and enjoy a tasty drink.

Great place to go for food or coffee and to relax

I visited here yesterday and found the lady at the till to be very unhelpful and grumpy. Didn’t smile or say thank you or anything at all. She was very dismissive and seemed like she didn’t want to be there. The vegetarian breakfast was so oily and the mushrooms were burnt to a crisp. The chips were also dripping in oil and to top it off, together with drinks cost £20. Unfortunately I wouldn’t recommend this place.

This delightful cafe is my favourite haunt in Bedford. Opens 8.30am which is great for an early riser. Staff all very good. Coffee is fantastic.

Despite repeatedly trying to call and email and getting no response, we still tried to visit to eat here, as we prefer to support independent cafe's. The website and reviews looked good and there was something for everyone on the menu. It was busy enough as we walked in, and we floundered trying to find a table. Christmas decorations were only just being taken down (on the 20th January!). The only table which was free was beside a member of staff, standing on a chair, trying to remove baubles from the ceiling (at what must be the busiest time of day for the café). She moved off just as we started to sit at the table, we cleaned the chair she had been using to stand on and I sat on it. Suddenly, she returned, advising us that she had been using that chair to take decorations down, we assured her that we had cleaned it, thinking this was her primary concern, but no, she just wanted HER chair back and said that we should move, to the table adjacent which was dirty and only just vacated by other customers. She stropped off in a bit of a huff and we sat for a few minutes, reeling from this experience and then the five of us got up and left. We were planning on having burgers and drinks, probably dessert too, so the café would have been at least £100 short of potential turnover for the day. Unfortunately, for us, this was a really bad first experience and whilst it is clearly a popular café, service (and in particular, attitude) fell far short of what we normally experience. We wont be trying to eat there again.

Fun place with cool atmosphere and nice music and the drinks are fabulous

Absolutely love the coffees here, I will go out my way to ensure I can get a coffee here when I am in Bedford. The atmosphere is great, it can get busy but when you get a seat you can stay here for hours! The decor is pretty cool and they have a good amount of veggie options for food.

My girlfriend came here for her lunch, the service was horrible she had the chicken pesto the portion size was so small and she even had to go back and ask for the side salad and the crisps she had we’re stale, not worth the £6.50 it cost her, even worst than that the next day she was very sick and vomiting, she got food poisoning from here, we know this as that was the only thing she had to eat after 12pm, 100% would not recommend anyone going here

Had hot chocolate poured on me by the barista when I was sat down. While it was an accident, can’t say that the complimentary cake or £4.30 refund offered really made up for the 3 items of damaged clothing, or the pain of the boiling water, or the discomfort of having to get home in soggy brown stained clothes.

Nice cafe but vastly overpriced, £12 for a full English breakfast id expect decent butchers style sausages instead of cheap mass produced one's and also a cup of tea or coffee to go with the meal for that price but this has to be paid for separately, It would of also been nicer if the food was hot instead of barely warm.

The staff don’t seem to care anymore. Ordered hot chocolate and latte extra hot. Neither were. Asked about it and he just shrugged and said that’s how it comes. Drank it straight down as it was Luke warm. Seems to be the attitude for everything in there now. Asked them to turn the music down once as you couldn’t hear yourself think and they ignored us. And freezing cold due to air con. Shame, always loved the place but not now

Visited with some friends this morning Found a table which had not been cleared , took the items to them to help out , not even a thank you from a male server who was very miserable ,myself and my friend ordered scrambled eggs on toast , very tiny amount of scrambled eggs , very disappointing , when we went back up to desk to order more drinks and cake , girl that took our order was also very miserable , only one server who removed our cups etc at the end was friendly , does not take much to smile . Won’t return

Flat white came out in a large cup, and had far too much milk in it. Had another try, but came out the same. They didn't seem to understand the issue, and later told me what I should have ordered was a small flat white. Wasn't given the option when we ordered. Staff felt really unhelpful and didn't try to help, was told I could order a small flat white but I'd have to pay for it as well as the one I'd rejected!

Great place to chill in town with a decent coffee. Tuna melt panini is proper bo!

WOW wow wowzers what a place!!!! The atmosphere is something you won't generally see with such a modern old school feeling and intuitive out of the box solutions, I'm amazed. Coffee and service quality exceeded all expectations and it's surprisingly cheap compared to most coffeeshops. Shame I'm not local, would visit every day

This modern style coffee shop is located on the High Street in the centre of town. It has a pleasant quirky interior. The prices were reasonable at £5.80 for two flat white coffees and the quality was good.

After only a couple of visits this is my go-to coffee spot when in Bedford as it ticks all the boxes: cool, quirky venue; comfy sofas; decent eclectic music selection always playing; and most importantly great coffee - did I mention it does the best chai latte in town? :)

I visited Coffee with Art with a friend a few weeks ago and just loved the atmosphere. I ordered an iced chai latte which was huge and definitely good value for the size of the drink. They also offer a variety of non-dairy milks. There are plenty of spaces to sit in the cafe with a variety of options ranging from comfy sofas to window stools. I saw plenty of people working in the café and the ambience was very positive and welcoming. I hope to come back for another visit, thank you!

Great fresh scones and muffins. Coffee milk was steamed for too long, lacked the smooth micro foam they have in other photos.

I'm no coffee expert but this is the place where I enjoy my soy latte with vanilla most. Quirky decor. Friendly caring service although staff slightly distracted at times. Cakes and Bagels (they have much more) always enjoyable. Recommended.

Really enjoyed my latte, no sugar needed as coffee quality was so good. We had toasted teacakes. Service excellent, only waited around 10 minutes after ordering, they were busy & every table was full. Highly recommended

Went there as a new customer today and I must say the decorations and decor was fabulous including the art and the people where so welcoming and lovely and allowed me and my friends to stay there for a good amount of time to get some college work done. This quiry cafe gives a unique spin on coffee shops. It literally is coffee with art. The style is unique and looks different which is a bresh of fresh air from all the samey chains out there. The drinks were very nice as was the food. They have a variety of other drinks that you don't often get in the other coffee shops so it truly is a good find. The only negative is the loud music playing, it felt like it was a coffee shop night club at times. But if they turned it down a little bit it would get the full ratings it deserves. The staff were really friendly also.

The interior design of this place is beautiful 😍, really eye pleasing and it gives a comfortable vibe. You can work, chat, be on your own, it just feels like you could fit in regardless of your needs. You should have seen the Christmas tree made out of books or the book wall, quite an interesting approach 👍🏻 The coffee was OK, I had a coconut latte 🥥☕️🖤 A nice latte art on one of the drinks, but not as good as in other coffee shops I have been to. Customer service was OK, felt like they were understaffed. I did not have any food but it looked delicious from what I have seen. Finally, one good aspect is the variety of hot drinks from flavoured hot chocolate 🍫 to match Christmas season to a lot of non-dairy options and even matcha. I was impressed with that. I guess I will have to go back and try something else.

Flat white was excellent. But the sandwiches were a let down. I had a breakfast ciabatta but it was basically an egg mayo sandwich 🤢 the other sandwiches were ok but quite reserved in the bacon, Brie and sausage components. Have a look at the picture below and tell me if you would finish it 😅

They do some lovely products, atmosphere is nice and a really unique setting. It's very cosy, and like I said, has a great feel to it. I've been a couple of times now- first experience was lovely and no issues. Unfortunately, the girl who was serving at my most recent experience was not particularly friendly, nor do I think really that suitable for customer service. I worked in customer service for nearly 5 years, and now deal with clients on a regular basis; I get that people have bad days and that customers can be really rude sometimes, but the girl serving at the till and who ultimately brought my stuff over was so unfriendly and the experience was borderline uncomfortable. I didn't find it too bad at the till (definitely not great but not awful); what was a bit uncomfortable was when she came over to the table to clear some plates from the previous customer. It was really busy and that was the only table available so they hadn't had time to clear anything. There were table numbers already there, and I'd told her this when she'd served me at the till (she said they didn't have any numbers and I said it was ok because we'd just use one that was already on the table). I guess she forgot because she came over collecting them, and when she picked up the one I'd said we'd use, she almost slammed it back down on the table, saying nothing, and walked off. It was so uncomfortable, the person I was with (who hadn't been to the till with me) noticed how unfriendly it was and mentioned it to me. I also raised my eyebrows and just said to them that I thought she was maybe having a bad day. A bit unfair though as I'm always polite to staff and behaved perfectly respectfully towards her. If she wasn't having a bad day then I'd suggest she needs more training or reassess whether this is the right environment for her. I have seen at least one other review here about who I believe is the same girl as their experience sounds pretty similar. It's one of those ones where I would go back, but wouldn't if she was serving that day

Visited on a Sunday afternoon for late lunch. Quite a few food options were not available, so we had paninis and drinks, which were very nice. There was an incident between the owner and a disgruntled customer, which could have been handled better, with more discretion. Nice place to visit, though.

I love the cosy interior and look forward to a hot chocolate in the cold winter months ahead. They have gluten free and vegan/plant-based options available.

Great coffee and very nice home made cake. I found the place very funky. It is very unusual style. Great music playing on the PA system. More of a place for walkers and casual passers by, rather than formal meeting place.

The first time I was willing to let it slide, but this is the second time I've received horrendous customer service in CWA. I get to the counter and the lady server stares straight through my soul and says nothing. I was polite and ordered my tea. She then proceeded to walk away from the counter without saying the price or anything, I tapped my card and said thank you and smiled, and again she basically stared straight through me, whilst appearing very visibly disinterested. In the end I felt so uncomfortable that I walked out without receiving my tea. I almost never write reviews, but this was awful service. The owner also strikes me as a massive ring piece. I think your experience here will largely depend on who serves you and the kind of service you're willing to accept

After a previous good experience, we wanted to return to this cafe recently. After carefully checking their opening hours on their website and social media platforms, we took a train and travelled there, just to find out that they decided to close 2 hours earlier on that day. It was not even communicated on the entrance or anywhere. While digesting this situation, several other people wanted to enter who were all sent away immediately just like us. They clearly do not care about their customers. If you do not want a similar disappointment, go to a different cafe by all means.

I've come to enjoy this place over the years, good atmosphere, good service, although the staff they had previously were a lot more friendly. I find this new set of staff a bit rude, one in particular who I won't name. Only thing I don't like is they over do it with the AC when it's not even hot outside, so sometimes it feels a bit cold in there. If it wasn't for that I'd give it a 5 star rating!

There's two simple reasons as to why this place has become an institution for café experiences in Bedford: great produce and great atmosphere. The decor is chic, with multiple homages to classic cinema, retro technology and literature, which also includes a "wall of books". If only we could see the spines of those books to see what titles they were... The music was nice and mellow as well. All coffee is 100% fair trade, and there are dairy alternatives available, making most hot drinks suitable for vegetarians, vegans and lactose intolerant. Their cappuccino and latte are both delicious, and you can taste that the coffee beans are roasted to perfection. Gluten free options are also readily available for nearly all the food options, so my partner (who has coeliac disease) was most relieved to be able to get a bacon and egg sandwich! ✅️ It hit the spot perfectly for her. I ordered the full English and was most impressed. Piping hot, well balanced and not too greasy. Perfection! 👍 We'll be back as soon as we can.
