This has to be one of the best establishments for hospitality I’ve ever been in. Today we arrived at lunchtime for a reservation I’d made and the promise of gluten and dairy free pancakes they’d said they’d make especially ( gluten and dairy free) only to be told they were closed —- BUT this is where a bad thing became an amazing thing.Instead of turning us away the owner checked the booking and realised an error had been made and they thought we were going tomorrow. He didn’t turn us away but welcomed us in and offered to rectify the booking error by still serving us. Oh wow did we all laugh and have some fun ( my husband simply stated he was waiting for me to get cross and walk out!). Instead we were treated to excellent service, delicious food ,choice of table, lol and marvellous hospitality. People never cease to amaze me with their actions and these owners deserve nothing but success in their relatively new venture. Perfect for special dietary needs and I should also mention the slice of gluten and dairy free cake I brought back with me,I literally waited for her to finish icing it ;can’t get much fresher than that. Thank you so much for having us,we will be back - on a day you’re actually open for customers.

I would rate our spontaneous visit today 5 out of 5. The greeting was very welcoming and made you feel at home. The service and quality of food was fantastic. I even helped out with the decoration advising where the busy bee 🐝 sticker would go on the wall. 😉👍

I love Coffee Chameleon. It is run by a wonderful family team, who really understand people. Always smiling and friendly, welcoming, it is great eating here. A small menu but they cater for everyone, breakfast and lunches always served so well. My favourite is the American Breakfast, always served on a hot plate, to my taste. I highly recommend the homemade cakes and biscuits, which are an ever changing menu, week to week. Always buzzing with the best energy. Visit here if you're passing through Sandown, it's a gem. Thank you & see you soon, Chameleon.

Went here this morning with a group of friends. I had a piece of amazing Raspberry and White Chocolate Cheesecake served with cream, it was wonderful. To drink I had a lovely Chocolate Milkshake. Only a small establishment but they coped with a (pre-booked) group of 9 ladies, who each ordered a variety of dishes and drinks.

Really enjoyed my visit to this lovely coffee shop! Very friendly welcome and felt a nice relaxed comfortable atmosphere. Had coffee and tea and a piece of their delicious cake. Nice little menu, with toasties, wraps and breakfasts, and a kids menu too. I would definitely recommend and If you love homemade cake it’s a must!!!! 🤤

My brother and I stopped here for lunch . We both ordered the omelette and fries . We were very impressed. The staff were nice and yes there is a friendly dog who follows everyone around. It is quite family orientated and it appears by the photos around they have sadly lost someone close. We ate in the garden as it was a nice day. B Overall , yes a bit hickledepicklede. But we loved it. Probably not for you if you don’t like dogs .

As Aussies we are critical of coffee as our culture is addicted to it. Here we had a coffee we were amazingly thrilled with. It was a REAL COFFEE with flavour, depth, texture and truly made with love thank you Emma for creating the best coffee we have had in the entirety of the UK xx

Being a local I did not stay at the hotel but I thought I'd try the food as eating out in Newport is limited to say the least (unless you like pizza/pasta, there are at least 4 of these). I fancied traditional pub food which today is a scarce as all the pubs seem to be in the Gordon Ramsey mode, posh food, very little of it and expensive. The Wheatsheaf’s menu included real pub classics including Steak and Ale pie, Pork Belly, Steak and Chips, Lamb Shank to name a few. For starter’s I opted for the chilli prawns, a generous portion, cooked perfect and presented shell off which saves all that peeling and messy fingers! Starters are all priced at £5.00. I followed this with a perfectly cooked 8oz sirloin steak (med-rare) with lovely crispy chips and a blue cheese sauce accompanied by a nice crisp fresh salad, (which was not just a bowl of leaves like in most places). Although the chips were frozen they were crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, perfect, I almost mistook them for the latest fad (3 times cooked chips). The chef must have a trick up his sleeve. The steak was cooked perfect. A field mushroom would have been a nice touch. Here's the good bit, all main dishes are only £10, if you fancy steak you do pay a £4.00 supplement which is fair. Even though I was stuffed I could not resist the homemade Rhubarb Crumble with cream. I managed to eat ¾ of it. Again, all the desserts were priced at £5.00. All I can say is although this pub has had a bad reputation for food in the past this is certainly not the case now, it’s really worth giving it a try.
