A gem on Blackwood High Street. The Pearl is a worthy place for a substantial and very tasty meal. The meals we had were excellent value (two chicken shish and two lamb kofte) Both came with starters. We had all the cold option available; humous, tzatzike and mixed salad.so fresh and tasty. Salad was cut to order, not stored in the fridge and dished out. Lashings of olive oil and generous amount of bread. Extra portion at no charge. Main courses just kept being added yo. Came under a dome over the plate, a classy touch. Two kebabs sat on a tortilla style wrap with grilled chillies and a ball of rice. Chips were plentiful but a bit soggy. Then came a side salad platter with pickled red cabbage, cucumber, shredded carrot, tomatoe, onion salad. A generous side of homemade coleslaw also appeared. Service was very prompt and courteous, except removing stuff so that we could enjoy coffee (which was very good). Spotlessly clean with the staff appearing similarly. All told, a gem to be discovered

Food turned up early but was missing a curry sauce. The battered sausage had seen better days

They opened ten minutes early for us and were so super friendly to us. We will definitely be back again.

Shame as the food was all soggy. The trays are rubbish for this type of food. Onion rings and sausage in batter was wet and soggy, not crispy. A lot of it went in the bin :(

Don't usually have a takeaway but thought we'd treat ourselves. Absolutely rubbish every chip was black and fish was flat 2 cod and chips 1 curry sauce £35.50 gutted as it went in the bin .

Had sausage and chips takeaway from godfather blackwood today 31.3.25 chips cold sausages under cook and one peace of fish that was ok . But £ 14.70 was far to expensive and will not go there again it is not value for money

Id just left lloyds bank a few doors down. Handed my £10 note to the chip shop for a small chips and they gave me a fake £5 note in change. I didnt notice at the time because of the way I was handed my change. Was too late after I left the shop... SO WATCH your change in this chip shop. They knew what they were doing to a pensioner. After reading their reply my advice is ALWAYS pay by card here

I love the Pearl restaurant in Blackwood! The food is absolutely delicious there and the portion sizes are so generous! I particularly enjoy the salad that is offered with the main dishes. It's open until 9pm and so it was ideal for a meal and drink before we went to Blackwood Miner's institute for a show. A great night out!

Order took just over 2 hours to arrive and quality not up to usual standard.

Wanted too have a nice English breakfast me & my son in a Saturday morning looked at the menu only option was eat all you can for £9.90 which I thought was expensive compared too other local cafe’s I ordered my boy that option because they didn’t do small breakfast or medium breakfast which was a stupid very disappointed because I only wanted 1 sausage 2 bacon. 1 egg & beans wasn’t going too pay £9.90 for that . So I thought I’ll have a nice mug of tea while my boy eat is breakfast so i asked for 2 mugs of tea one for me & one for my boy what turns was too little cups of tea . I asked these are not mugs the reply I had was they are the same I said so a pint is the same as half of pint he looked very confused . Very disappointed rant over .

First time having bad experience here. Over 2 hrs to deliver and food was cold when delivered despite 3 calls to restaurant. I do appreciate they were busy and usually they are fantastic but really let themselves down tonight

Completely missed my lunch break

Lovely fresh food but not much sauce on the tray meals also wrong bottle of pop sent.

Cold burgers warm chips and the patties were stodgy as anything wafer thin potatoes stuffing about 5 x the thickness of the potatoes so the ratio was all wrong.

The food at the Pearl is so good, highly recommend.

food was supposed to be delivered between 18.10 - 19.30.i called the resteraunt at 18.20 because the app still didnt say dispached. called again an hour later . food was delivered after 19.30

I ordered food at 7pm that turned up at 9:40! Freezing cold and chips all full of oil as if they haven’t been drained tidy, I rang to find out where my food was I was told it had left another half hour when by still no food delivery time is shocking

First time here trying The Pearl/Godfather and it did not disappoint, the staff are really welcoming and friendly, and lovely and clean... We went for the all you can eat breakfast and it was stunning... We will definitely be back 🤙

I had an exceptional dining experience thanks to the outstanding service provided by waiters Hakan and Devrim. From the moment we were seated, they were both attentive, friendly, and incredibly professional. Hakan’s knowledge of the menu and his customers orders are great and this enhanced our meal, while Devrim’s warm and welcoming demeanor made us feel right at home (he loves a chuckle). They made sure we had everything we needed without being intrusive, and their positive attitudes really made the evening special. Highly recommend both of them for anyone looking for top-notch service and a jolly good laugh

We have eaten here twice now and it's a really clean restaurant with really friendly and accommodating staff who can't do enough for you. The food is very tasty with a great price as well where you can watch it being cooked in front of you. I would highly recommend visiting. ♥️

Disappointed last few times here.

Absolutely shocking - delivery arrived 40 minutes after courier left store (food was cold) so sent food back, then had to wait again for fresh food to be delivered. Delivery driver was rude. Bottle of Pepsi sent instead of Coke. Overall waited over 2 hours for food. Usually good service from here but today was abysmal.

Absolutely disgusting waiting 2 and half hours for half of our food that wasn’t delivered. Not a huge order either. Phone manner and customer service is the the worst I have experienced

Our first visit. Both meals were delicious 😋 Cod and chips and chicken pie and chips. Very generous portions and very good service. A container and carrier bag were supplied to take some fish home for a very appreciative dog.😋. Very pleasant staff and reasonable prices for good quality food. Great opening hours. 👏

Great Breakfast Buffet - little pricey So passed and seen an Eat as much as you like breakfast buffet. So went in and sat in The Pearl. In fairness there's a great selection and the food was hot and freshly cooked. Service was fantastic as well. However I'm still trying to get my head around self service food but table service drinks. Not a criticism just an observation. If I'm getting up to get my food I might as well get my drink, of if I have to order my drink and you bring it to the table, then may as well do the same for food. How I get side tracked. The Gents serving us were great. Breakfast is basically £10 and a latte was £3. My friend had breakfast and tea which was also £3. So £26 for 2 people to have breakfast. It was lovely, but for about £5-7 cheaper I can have a similar breakfast same quality (admittedly not eat as much as you can but I am still full). My personal opinion as the food was lovely but the cafe was empty. Just a little on expensive side for a cafe in blackwood for breakfast, do a full breakfast and drink for about £7.50 - £8 similar to everywhere else. However most likely be back when I need a full feed to last 2 days.

The Pearl is Blackwood's best kept secret. We always have a great meal. The staff are attentive, friendly and helpful. The food is absolutely excellent 10/10, very keenly priced and worth every penny. The lamb shish is out of this world. I recommend you pay them a visit and have a meal there, you will not regret it.

Just bought 2 cod bites n chips, chips were lovely, cod bite were terrible taste and awful texture, seemed they were warmed up from yesterday, wont be going here at miday on a monday ever again.🤮😡😡

Food was hot and fresh. We had one meal delivered with the wrong sauce and a missing drink but a simple call and we had a new meal delivered, drink delivered and a bottle of pop as an apology. Great service and much appreciated.

gorgeous food as per usual! the lamb was so lovely and tender, the best it's ever been (kudos to whoever cooked the lamb! so underrated for their shish kebabs, absolutely gorgeous hummus, chilli sauce, meat always lovely and good quality, me and my partner have ordered a few times now because they always deliver! highly recommend trying their kebabs, they are so very tasty and also the salad is high quality! absolutely lovely, thank you to your chefs

Placed an order at 1-30 for delivery told 2-55 for our order turned up 4-10 totally unacceptable. Was a given a bottle of Pepsi as compensations I would of cancelled and asked for a refund. Food on the cold side. Wouldn't recommend this chippy to anyone. Funny how they never comment on a bad review!!

Brilliant food all fresh, really enjoyed

It was actually 25 mins but it was the busiest time of the day 4_30 with traffic so we did expect it food was amazing well worth the wait we have tried a few around our area and this place is the best we have had in ages definitely will be our regular from now on

We ordered here at 12.15 midday. At 13.25 we rang the shop to say that we hadn't received our delivery to be told it had just left the shop. After ringing back again at 13.45 we received it 5 mins later. Over an hour and a half.....

my new default takeaway. really great experience from ordering to consuming a hot and tasty Haddock ( huge fish, not including the nice tasting crispy batter) and freshly cooked chips ( no hard tiny chip ends either ). Cod Father always provides fantastic food, in my humble opinion.

Ordered quite a large order and surprised to see it arrive early. But the food was outstanding. Very good quality and tasted delicious. Proper grilled chicken skewers. The lamb chops were amazing. Everything beautifully presented. You have to try it!

Soon as you walk in the diner has such a calming atmosphere the service is amazing all employees are so polite and have a massive smile 😃 😊 the food was excellently presented and it looked as good as it tasted I didnt take any pics of the dinner as it was so good I just dug straight in i did manage to remember to take a photo of the desert which is fluffy and tastes amazing !!

Food piping hot fantastic! Great portion sizes cannot fault it. Only one gripe the chips. These chips look like they have been standing around for so long and just reheated. Not fresh at all . If this could be rectified and a better quality of fresh chips it would be top knotch chip shop.
