Curry sauce is banging as I prefer original chip shop curry sauce. Chips Could’ve been fresher but abit dry, woman was lovely.

Very friendly chatty women, who are very welcoming! The food is delicious, but I could honestly stand there for hours just talking. The customer service is phenomenal. We frequently drive out of our way because the food is that worth it.

This is my favourite chippy to go to, always welcoming and down to earth staff, and the food is always top quality also would deffinatley recommend this place to anyone

I've been working in fish and chips for the last 20 years and this is by far the worst food I've ever seen.The food tastes horrible cause you never change your oil.It was worth £25 to know never to go back

Fresh, scalding hot oily goodness. I like the light crisp batter which has a good flavour, and the chips have always been nicely cooked. Looking forward to trying the rest of the menu but I keep coming back for the fish and chips. Friendly service, fair price, hub of the community.

Made a homesick Scotman feel very welcome and at home with an exceptional (haddock) fish supper. Lovely people, great food. Pay them a visit!

Fresh, hot and yummy fish and chips. My daughter loves donner kebab, just melt in mouth. Service was quick and always get welcome smile. Nice and clean family run business , local to me and worth a try if you like authentic fish and chips. 🤩👍

As always this family run chippy is without a dealt the most welcoming I've experienced. They clearly are a big part of the community as every customer is treated as an individual with respect and kindness. Food is amazing, always meeting the expectations.

Very unpleasant experience.The red chicken kebab thy serve smelled off and the lamb one was tasteless and dry .Salad added was shocking. Nothing to it just few pieces of lettuce and soggy cucumber . No tomato at all. Whole family had runs for 2 days and upset stomachs so obviously something wasn't right there. But that's not all. They give fake receipts with wrong date printed on. I actually got in trouble with my employer by claiming my meal allowance with the receipt that had a fake old date on it . . . So if you're a contractor and planning on claiming meal allowance back stay away from them! And you'll have runs for two days !! Stay away from them!!!!!!

Food was very good apart from the large kebab being small. Older lady behind counter very rude no manners at all younger lady the complete opposite. I will not use again the attitude is something I would expect of a thirteen year old and u ain't the only person to say it

Stoped at this chip shop while waiting to meet a friend ,was hungry so I went in,prices were decent and reasonable had a simple large cod chips and let me tell u the food was amazing I never tasted a perfectly cooked fish in a long time chips also perfectly cooked let's face it we all have gone in to a chippy just to be dispointed this chippy shouls be five star plus and the service was also excellent family run business carnr wait to bring some friends around to try their food try your self I paid just under ,£8 for my food enjoy people.

This is takeaway only but wow food is freshly prepared and cooked and is very good value for money . I would recommend it to anyone

Went for the first time just before it closed on a Friday night. The food was great and the staff very friendly.

Been working in the area for 6 weeks, in the first week I came to The Codfather and I tried the Fish, it was the nicest thing I’ve ever tasted. 6 weeks later I’m still going every day! Just can’t get enough of the food and the staff!!! Definitely recommend.

Poor chip quality, chicken and doner were okay. Large fish was tiny compared to other chippys in the area.

Absolutely brilliant fish and chip shop, mini fish and chips is my regular order, and as soon as I walk in I'm greeted with a lovely big smile and hello, and your usual, I'm asked, they always remember me, I love this place( no pun intended) it's the best and the food is first glass 😀

Chippy Tea is a must from the Cod Father - the food is always perfect, freshly cooked and a family treat. The staff are so engaging with the children while the food is being prepared. How lucky are we to have a chip shop like this local x

If you're looking to treat yourself to some lovely food tonight look no further than Codfather (awesome name btw). This is a very important point to make as a person who doesn't consume halal meat it has been a struggle to find a chippy that accommodates for this dietary requirement. You get some Punjabi or 'indian owned' establishments that serve half halal and half non halal and believe me when I say ive checked almost every chippy within a 5 mile radius of this one and this is the only that can accomodate for this requirement so thank you Codfather for your integrity. In my very honest opinion the food is really nice the meat is succulent and chips are moreish and not dry, the portion sizes are plenty, you get amazing value for money and most importantly the whole place is very hygenic rated 5*. Codfather is a family owned and run business so they take pride in what they do and it shows. The staff are welcoming and friendly. If you're lucky enough to meet Aunty you will be sure to have a few laughs whilst you wait for your food. The telephone service is always polite and they never rush you. Their attention to detail is on point ive ordered a few times now for collection and everything has always been in the bag nicely packed and labelled. I cannot recommend these guys anymore please give them a try if you havent, you wont be dissapointed. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
