This restaurant has been closed for some time. Does anyone know when it will re-open?

This place doesn't deserve even a 1 star!!! The fish was so small and i ordered a regular... It was rock hard and just not edible at all!! The chips tasted like it was fried twice like it was made yesterday. Very disappointed and will definitely not be ordering from here again.

I ordered via UberEats, and it was a disappointing experience. The food arrived stone cold and inedible. It seemed the food had been prepared and left sitting for a long time before being picked up by the delivery driver. To make matters worse, the food had a strange petrol or chemical taste that made it unpalatable. I would not recommend ordering from this establishment. The food quality was poor, and the delivery service failed to deliver the food in a timely manner and in an edible condition.

Nice and small restaurant in Finchley. The Google reviews say it closes at 21:30 on Sunday. However, we weren't offered a seat around 20:35, so plan accordingly. The regular chips box has a big portion of chips, also for the Cod fish, and their homemade sauce is good.

Thought I'd give this place ago and was pretty much disappointed in the food received. The wait for the cod was like 20 mins, I'm thinking surely it's going to be amazing. It was awful, literally ruined my Friday. The cod batter was insanely eggy to the point it was sickening. The chips were average and worst of all I got charged standard price for a multi pack coke. The price was quite expensive considering places in central London don't charge as much.

Had gone into this fish and chippy and ordered the classic fish and chips with a side of mushy peas, must say this place in terms of taste and quality is exceptional as one should expect for where it is located, the batter was nice and crispy as was the chips, not sure if they used a drying rack for the fish but there was no signs of it being too oily or greasy considering the fact that it was made fresh and not a premade one that some fish and chippies push out. The fish was nicely cooked and the texture of the fish was nice and tender; the chips was nice and crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside (similar to the fish). This place is nice and clean and you could tell that the chefs are hygienic in their food preps seeing as they follow the colour coding for the various types of food such as dairy, meat, fish and vegetables which if not followed would cause cross contamination. The decor is bright and not too much in your face; the setting up of the tables also has enough space to maneuver and is not cramped up full of tables and chairs. The atmosphere is quite quiet with a tranquil feel to it, personally I feel that this fish and chippy could benefit from hosting sports events on their television sets as the location seems to consist of young working professionals that would be up for a meal and some entertainment. If you look closely on their windows they also have an allergen and intolerance sign which would be very helpful for someone with specific dietary needs. Overall the fish and chip meal I received from this venue was gorgeous and cooked very well to my liking. A quick note, chips does not come with the fish and is a seperate item on their menu list that has to be ordered with the fish.

I’ve ordered fish and chips for the first time on Ubereats and I didn’t realise I had to order chips separately, they were kind enough to send me a portion of chips with a note to make me aware of that. The food was delicious and represented perfectly. Thank you for doing your job with passion 🙏🏻

Ordered food from here via a delivery service. Service was fast, but the food quality was terrible. The fish was really small size for the price. Compared to other fish and chip shops it looked pathetic. Fish was fishy tasting and clearly not fresh. Chips portion was small also and tasteless. Also peas and mushy peas were not available. Skip this place!

This is very disrespectful thing that i ever seen. I ordered only fish and they was thinking i didn’t want to pay for chips as well and as a result they write on top of the box that fish doesn’t come with chips. Very bad customer service

I am a vegetarian and it was important to me that the chips were cooked in a separate oil to the other food. Recomended.

Read the reviews a few days ago and decided to skip this place and went to another closer to me with better reviews.Boy was i wrong to do so. Best fish and chips place ever,ok maybe the second best,but definitely the most atmospheric one. Like the time has stopped in 1984. I get it why people give it bad reviews in this time and age. Service is slow,the place looks well used to put it mildly and I am pretty sure they dont have all the ingredients for all the dishes on the menu.Asked the guy for fried onion rings and he had to go in the back and check if there were any onions in stock,more on that in a second. So after a 20ish minute wait the food was ready, no hot storage fried fish and chips sitting there since who knows when,everything was cooked right there and then. The haddock was a good size ordered the large one and very tasty and the chips were soft and fresh as well. But am I glad he found that lone onion at the back,the BEST ONION RINGS ever, freshly made. I almost went back to get more but then remembered that I probably got the last one. So next time you go there to get your fish and chips, order the battered onion rings,but dont forget to bring an onion or two with you just in case they are out or you will be missing out 😀

Exelent local chippy. Home made tartare sauce.

This is a simple fish and chip restaurant you would expect. The calamari is freshly fried and the portion of the chips is even a little too big for me(an average size guy) which is very good in value. The only downside is you might have to wait for a while(~20 minutes) since it is a small restaurant run by the owner himself.

świetne jedzenie, bardzo tłuste, bardzo chrupiące i dlatego wspaniałe. Coraz rzadziej można spotkać autentyczne frytki z ziemniaków krojonych na miejscu. Polecam każdemu z dużym apetytem na fast food w starym dobrym stylu. 5 gwiazdek 👍

Ordered on uber eats from them, expecting to get battered cod fish instead i have, this the taste is bad smells horrible, all soggy. Worst of all wont refund

Excellent. We get from there most Friday nights and the fish is beautifully cooked in a crispy batter (that survives the journey home). Chips are hot and delicious and portions extremely generous.

Gone downhill. Used to be an okay place, but now you get your food home to find your mushy peas are freezing, items missing from the order, and stale chips. I literally reminded the guy 4 times about 3 items I never saw him pack, and he still missed 2 of them after sheepishly declaring it was already there, guy was clearly not cut out for the very simple job of compiling and charging for an order. Won’t be going here again.

I didn't enjoy my chips. They tasted of stale oil. In fact, I was very unimpressed with everything I could see. It's quite a narrow shop which feels a bit odd. I've not been back as I didn't like the taste of the chips.

ABSOLUTE DISGRACE ! If it were possible to give a negative star review then I would. Having decided to try a different fish shop (because our normal shop was closed) we order our usual Friday order which normally costs us around £25. Uber delivery included. The total cost from this VASTLY OVERPRICED shop was £47.74. Uber's delivery charge was only £1.79 after our discount (confirmed by the company receipt). The shop had the front to send a menu with our order which confirmed that the actual cost should have been £27.00. Believing that there may have been a mistake I called the shop asking for clarification regarding the price difference. Well...... The person answering the phone was the most arrogant, disconcerted and uninterested person it has been my unfortunate privilege to speak to. They had absolutely NO interest in listening to any question I had. Their only answer was "It's UBER's issue"' Which it wasn't. But to ensure this I called UBER. The OVERCHARGING is definitely only down to CODFATHER. So Having confirmed the extortionate price in writing, I called this shop back. Luckily the same person answered. He was dismissive, completely arrogant and disinterested. It was not reasonable nor good business to tell customers "Its your fault, you used UBER, you should have collected". Fortunately I recorded this conversation. Working as a presenter on a London Radio Station I will certainly NOT be endorsing this place. The staff's attitude is the worse I have encountered in a long time. DO NOT waste your money ordering from here. There are much better close by.

Excellent chips and curry sauce and very friendly service. Finding The Codfather open when everywhere else was closed felt like finding an oasis in the middle of a desert.

Really wanted some lovely fish and chips, and I am so happy to have come across CODFATHER, cooked fresh when you order, so 10/15min wait is worth the wait.

Ordered fish and chips and the fish arrived unbattered. No option to select battered on Uber Eats. Called up to ask if they could do anything, and they said it was all our fault.

Cooked to order, was fresh and the medium Cod was huge. Good value.

Good food fast delivery fresh food

We’ve dined in and taken away many times and the friendliness, service and quality of food is consistent. The cod is divine! The oil is always fresh. Yes, the cost is a little pricey ..but the location is Greater London and the portions are generous. My only feedback would be an option for French fries as well as chips; the chips are quite thick and could be a little crispier but that may be my personal opinion. Will always return.

Rubbish food. First and last time

Tried the chips from here again this evening are a mediocre first time previous. The chips were again undercooked and still tasted of potato inside, as a worker with chips, maybe try them before you serve them?

We had food missing in our order,they send us small piece instead of large and charge us for large.The plaice was a mediocre size and as for we called them they just brushed us off as if nothing and told us to contact Uber Eat for a refund....Dishonest people!Avoid at all cost! Fish (Cod) was excellent, some other items not so good. We ordered 3 cod, phoned ahead, when we got it home it was two cod and one rock (we think). Could not go back as everyone was waiting. The chips, although plentiful were very pale and anaemic, clearly not cooked twice or enough. Mushy peas very good, Shame have always had great products in the past.

I had a rather disappointing cod and chips. The fish had no 'zing' to it and the chips tasted reheated. They were not freshly out of the frier. All in all it was a let down for me.

I liked to eat here, friendly staff, good price, quality food, quiet at afternoon with `90 `00 radio pop songs. But a cold day I went to eat and warm up, the customer area not even heated, mostly freeze there, it was funny, because the workers are sweated next to the oven.
