Coast Cafe in Worthing

Blown away by service and breakfast today at coast cafe. Sun shining beautiful scenes across at the sea and good music playing upbeat . Very trendy decor inside and upcoming . Would definitely recommend seems to have really improved in recent months . Great breakfast menu. Had warm crossiants with smoked salmon , cream cheese and added scrambled egg. Great presentation and coffee too ! Wil be back

Just had a cappuccino and bacon roll. No additional filling. So lightly toasted roll and bacon. It was delicious. Will I go back. 100%

We came across this place by chance. Nice vibe, nice staff. We sat outside close to the sea, lovely location with a wind break which is helpful. We ordered Scampi and chips which was delicious and not over priced and the portion was decent too! The beer was delicious as well. I will definitely go there again when I am next in Worthing. In fact this place would encourage me to visit Worthing again.

Slow bar staff, you stand waiting for ages and they seem stressed even though it's not that busy. Telling people to line up single file at the bar, just odd.

Terrible service took 25 minutes to get a cappuccino and even then I had to go to the counter and ask about my order arrived eventually with an apology but then server forgot I had ordered a croissant avoid if you value good service !!!!!!!

Nice to stop by for a coffee. Sitting upstairs to see the sea view.

Have been here before to eat and been very pleased with the food and tried again to eat and checked the website to see what time they stopped food. Disappointed to be told they had stopped serving food and said the times change in half term.

An amazing, comfortable cafe on the seafront. Prices are fair and staff very welcoming.

Counter staff needs sorting out. When cappuccino coffees arrived at our table they were barely warm. Seemed expensive for that little cup !!!!

Attended an event night 80's music - free entry event. Enjoyable evening.

Changed since I was last there. All I had was a coffee which was fine. Will need to go back and try the food. It must be over five years since we used to eat in there every Sunday

Second visit in 5 years. My memories are vague, but I get the impression that the cafe has matured and is more relaxed and busier. The coffee was great and the strange-looking pastry (I had to ask what it was) was quite tasty. I can remember going to a cafe on this site in the 1970s. I think it was above the present cafe and much smaller.

Wicked night, "Sessions" hosted a winter wonderland event which was amazing and had a great vibe, the atmosphere was electric and very friendly, I caught up with some old skool ravers who lived locally who frequently attend the coast cafe and its events, my first time at Coast and will certainly not be my last, thanks for a great night and for having us❤

Popped in for a coffee mid afternoon and thought the cafe had a very relaxed vibe and trendy / cool decor. The venue turns into a music hub in the evening playing hip music and even as an oldy I love drum and base 🤔 Great idea and it would be my regular place to go if I lived in Worthing. Alas only visiting. Have not been to Worthing in years and wow hasn’t it changed

Popped in for take away latte on 15th October. After waiting 30 mins gave up, despite asking member of staff to advise me how much longer I would have to wait Couldnt be bothered to ask for a refund.

Great food, fabulous music and really friendly staff. Especially good to take children as it's easily accessible and has a little playground with a sandpit right outside. Lovely location, right on the beach. Dog friendly too, so it really has everything!!!!!

Today I went to this café and I ordered a large hot chocolate for £3.20 and cream and marshmallows were 45p extra and I ordered a large hot chocolate with cream this ended up being £3.65 and a kids hot chocolate is £2.20 well I was going there with my school and I got given a kids hot chocolate and I said "hold on I paid £3.65 for a large hot chocolate not a kids size, can I have a large please" the women proceeded to say "I gave everyone in ur school group a small because its cheaper" but that was a lie, all my friends all got larges apart from about 5 of us and there was 27 of us in total. The man was telling everyone that they had no larges but there were large cups right infront of our faces and he was being quite loud about it . When I said I paid for a large they didn't give my money back. Also the prices are really expensive! My hot chocolate wasn't even hot it was luke warm !!!! I wouldn't recommend coming here if you want to loose your money but if u want to pay very expensive prices then go ahead and come here but I really do not recommend this place! So I give it 1 star!!!!

The Coast Cafe is a cafe/restaurant/event bar situated on the promenade and beach, east of Worthing pier. There is seating available on the beach or inside their premises. If you are sitting at the beach tables you get wonderful views of the beach and sea. The food and drinks were excellent quality, reasonable prices and tasty. The waiting time was not too long either, considering that it was busy. The staff were friendly and efficient too. Overall it was a good experience.

A great location, right on the beach. They do a great breakfast. There is a good range of beers. Service is a tricky one to comment on. Some of the staff are friendly and efficient, and some are not. I go to Coast Cafe fairly regularly, and it's not uncommon to be standing in a long queue waiting to be served. Some staff are right on it, efficiently dealing with customers to clear the queue. Others display no sense of urgency or interest in what they are doing and will be chatting away to other staff behind the bar whilst the queue snakes down further toward the toilets. Some staff display great customer service and are friendly, welcoming, and efficient. Others come across as sullen with a 'couldn't care less' attitude.

Great food, drinks and atmosphere. Handy having bike locks outside and seating area on the beach. The upstairs seating offers great views. The evening vibe is fun and relaxed.

Delicious food and friendly attentive staff. Dog and child friendly which makes for a lovely family breakfast trip out.

First time visiting. Had a bap with avocado, hashbrown, sweet chili jam & a fried egg. Delicious! Will definitely visit again.

Gone really down hill, food burnt last two times I've been, staff said this is normal. What can you do? Won't come back sadly.

Location outside lovely, service 30 minute wait, I ordered the Full English, sausage beautiful and rest of breakfast ok, however the poached egg was dry, a huge disappointment as I love a poached egg, one butter given under toast so was warm and runny. I didn't think it was worth £12 in all honesty. My husband enjoyed his bap with sausage, hash brown and bacon so mixed reviews from us. at £7, still on the steep side.

The rooftop patio is a great spot in the sunshine. Service a bit slow , but fair range of craft beers on offer.

I really struggle with Coast's queueing system, and have often just walked out and gone elsewhere. On Wednesday we went there just for drinks with a view and got stuck in the very long queue. The single que was for both food AND drink. Then they decided to split it into 2 queues, 1 for drinks, and 1 for food, but unfortunately they had someone new working the drinks queue and the queue took longer than the food queue. I asked a member of staff why we queue and she said it was so that the kitchen staff didn't get overwhelmed with orders. Now I'm sorry, but surely table service with where you are in the scheme of things and a predicted possible wait would be better than endless queuing. One of my friends wanted another drink at Coast but I point blank refused, just because of the queue, although £24 for 4 drinks also put me off slightly. All that being said, I absolutely love Coast, and love the music and the vibe. Just such a shame about the queue.

Great location by the beach. High prices. For example, £14.95 for fish, chips, and peas which was also onsale for just £6 at a local chippy. The fish was not cod or haddock, with too much batter.

Stopped here for breakfast one weekday morning. Sat out the front watching the waves with a delicious bacon and egg bap and flat white. Perfect! I had noticed this place the day before and it was heaving at lunchtime so I am glad I came back when it was quiet (9.45am)

Good location but can get busy, frequently waiting 30 minutes plus for a coffee, they don’t offer an option of filter coffee which could save a wait. When you finally get food it is always presented well and tasty.

We always stop at this cafe when riding to Brighton. Such good atmosphere, and perfect place for some beer and light lunch by the sea.

You have to try their buddha bowls. Oh my Christ!! 🤪❤

Delightful Family Cafe, serving pleasant food and drinks. Roof Terrace and Beach Front Seating, with indoor dining too. Great customer service. Next to park grounds of Beach Mansion, East Beach, Worthing.

Love this venue, which is directly on the beach. This evening, they had a samba dj, which was great. The food looked amazing! 👌

As we seated ourselves outside with a lovely view of the Channel, I was suddenly struck by deja vu. I had been here once before! (while on a shoot many, many years ago). But I digress. Wonderful breakfasts were served. D opted for the Coast Breakfast Special, me? Eggs Benedict of course (habits of a lifetime and all that). The eggs were poached perfectly! Not an easy thing to do. Solid whites, runny yolks. We were house-hunting in Worthing - this could become our local weekend-walk diversion!

Popular beachside café. Dog-friendly. Option to eat inside or out - even on the beach! Each time I've had eggs, they've been perfectly poached. Looking forward to attending music events this summer.

Went on Sunday . Spent 10 minutes queuing for coffee being ignored then told I was in the wrong queue . Sorry Coast no longer

Great for a coffee during the day, or after Parkrun 🙂 Have also been in the evening and it is a great place to go for a beer.

Food was really good, great location, be nice if they had more sun shades, but still love this place 😀

Lovely venue, unfortunately the food and slow service let it down. It took 50 mins for our breakfast to arrive and another 5 mins to have clean cutlery to eat it with (staff had to hand wash some) The food was cold, the butter dripped out of the package, the spinach had grit in it, the eggs were overcooked and no sourdough toast as requested. Such a shame. Queued 10 minutes to share our feedback!

Cool place, hosts some nice events, worth a visit

Went for one of their great music nights. What could be better in the summer a stones throw from the beach, cool vibes and tunes!

Although there's a great vibe at this place, the food that I had on this occasion wasn't anywhere as good as my previous visit a few weeks beforehand (even tho I ordered the exact same meal) and was in all honesty quite disappointing...

Only 3 stars for food. Stopped here recently for coffee and was really disappointed. Coast café used to sell illy coffee when it was the artists café but the coffee on Monday was tasteless sadly

Great tasting food. Friendly Service. Very clean establishment. Bit pricey, but worth it.

Waited for 30 minutes in the queue to be told the coffee machine was shut off when I got to ordering. Why they didn’t tell people waiting it was being shut off…. Waste of time. Open until 1am though! Machine turned off at 16:30

Edit 5 years later: Still going strong! G and T at 4pm with husband, lovely waiter. Great views. Can't fault it. Caters for all! We are beyond kids now so out front on the beach with the dogs is the fave spot. Out back though, right on play park for those with families. Dog friendly inside too. We go mostly in the week but I have been weekends and it can get busy with queues sometimes. Patience required. We haven't eaten here yet.

Lovely place, great location, great events and very good food (though the beer is a bit expensive). No better place to hang out in Worthing EXCEPT that the service - as opposed to the staff, who are lovely - is dreadful. What I mean is that they have a queueing system for normally one person to be served at a time, meaning that if there's more than a few people queueing you're going to be in that queue for around about 10 minutes. It's a downer. Three times in the last three weeks we've looked in, seen the queue, and said 'nah'. It's a real shame (and I don't know why they didn't fix it during their recent closure), cos they're losing our money, and we don't encourage people to drop by. Again, this isn't the staff's fault, it's the system...

Good spot by beach with good amount of outdoor seating. Food good value and portions not too large. Service slow but was a busy sunny Saturday lunchtime.

Came across this place by accident today and boy are we glad we did. Great place. Staff were excellent and on it. We all had breakfasts and mine was absolutely incredible. I went for the vegetarian option and I am stuffed. My husband and son had poached eggs with there’s and they were perfect. We will defiantly be returning and telling our friends

Great location. And if you're on a diet I recommend paying £6 for the vegan breakfast bap. One mini bread roll. One hash brown and a slice of avocado. No wonder vegans are so thin.

Stopped here on a bike ride. Very nice coffee shop. Great selection of cakes. Coffee was very nice also. Staff are very friendly. Tap water on offer too.

Where ibiza comes to worthing. Great place. And even better when the weather is great as the cafe extends onto the beach.

The person serving on the till was friendly enough but he did make an error with our order which meant that one meal did not go though and therefore did not arrive. When I asked about the meal the female member of staff was not very helpful and nobody apologised for the error. The food itself was overpriced, cold and bland. £11.50 for overcooked halloumi, cold tomatoes and mushrooms, overly saucy beans and some wet spinach is not okay. The coffee was nice but I would not go here again.

Loved the maps on the wall of the corridor and the pictures on the walls of the loo. Very friendly. Brilliant view of the storm yesterday. Will definitely go again.

What a find! Right on the beach. We had brunch which was both high quality and plentiful. Try the eggs benedict or a full English complete with sourdough toast. Highly recommended.

Out for a walk along the front with dog and family. Being a bracing early spring day we fancied a cuppa and snack. This was a diamond of a find, especially as dogs are welcome. Even with abig jar of doggie snacks. The food we had was wonderful and reasonably priced, with great service from friendly staff. Will certainly jump in the car and come down here for more walks and stop off here for a drink etc.
