Please don’t be fooled by the pictures had my mums funeral wake their last Wednesday where do we start sandwiches cheese tuna seafood egg all chucked in one basket one of my elderly guests was allergic to seafood and before you mention this it’s impossible to check all guests hence they should have been separate and with labels on . One bowl of crisps and pasty looking sausage rolls. As for sweet selection one piece of cake per person it possibly may look like the buffet had been over catered for no people didn’t want it. Must also mention and this was brought to my attention by a number of guests the one staff left was quite rude had we been told we only had 90 minutes from the first guest arriving we would have been aware to leave the room wasn’t nice to be told sternly we should have been out of the room 25 mins ago. Ok so all the above is not a good look so here’s some constructive feedback do the catering in house cus years gone by it was superb.

We had refreshments here after my mother's funeral. The food was fresh and plentiful. I am told the cakes were delicious, although I didn't get chance to try them! The staff were really helpful, making lovely hot chocolates for the children in the party, and catering separately for people needing gluten free food. There were plenty of small boxes available to pack up remaining food so nothing was wasted.

Although the setting for this cafe is in a crematorium I often visit on a lunchtime for a sandwich. The staff are v friendly. Food range is both hot and cold. Can be busy depending if they are hosting a wake. But a great place to visit 9/10 would be a full 10 if they opened weekends

Would just like to say a huge thank you to all the friendly staff at The Clock House Cafe, you catered for all our needs and more. These times are difficult enough (funeral) and you couldn't do enough for our guests. Definitely highly recommend !!

Got charged an extra £55 because there was 12 more people than we had said. We didn't get any more food so can't understand why it was much extra. For £11a head I found the the food poor wouldn't use them again sorry

A good place for meeting and chatting to friends old & new after the service as it's within the crematorium grounds, saving people travelling any distance to eat elsewhere. Basic food choice, but more than enough & at a reasonable price. Pleasant staff & recommended.

Lovely staff and great food. Sadly we've lost count of the number of times we've been here but everyone goes the extra mile to make you welcome. Perfect place to say goodbye and come together to remember loved ones and friends in the best way. Keep up the good work and thankyou.

As a regular guest and customer of The Clock House Tea Rooms, I wanted to personally thank the superb staff, who make this charming cafe such a pleasure to visit. Kevin you and your team should be proud of the excellent menu and buffet's you create for your families who book to celebrate the life of loved one's recently lost. It's rare to find a level of service and attitude that warrants taking time to write a review, however this is such an occasion. I was kindly invited this afternoon by a lovely family to join them and the food, drinks and desserts were amazing. Keep up the good work and the welcoming smile on arrival, it is very much appreciated by many people and families. Kind regards Clive Pashley Civil Celebrant

Staff at the Clock House Tea Rooms were rude, insensitive and should not have been in the role - they upset my 87 year old father-in-law yesterday as we retired to the rooms after my mother-in-law's service/ cremation. Upon arrival, we ordered drinks for our party, and requested some fresh milk in a jug only to be told by the man serving (Kevin?) that we could only have plastic cartons of UHT milk. We thought he was joking - but he wasn't and only after protesting, he very grudgingly put a very small amount of fresh milk in a small jug to share between us; who, these days, gives customers UHT milk? My father-in-law then set up a tab for drinks with the man serving behind the counter making a note, only to be deliberately ignored by the man for over 5 minutes when we wanted to settle up, as he chatted to a staff member. Also, despite no notice on the tea room door, we were told another party had booked to arrive in 10 minutes - this was just after ordering food for two diabetic friends who had to eat sone thing before leaving. Had we been aware upon arrival, we would he ordered food straightaway. Dreadful staff and service in a place where compassion and sensitivity is needed - they need sacking.

Sadly had a very poor meal. It was awful ; calamari like chewing rubber bands - did tell the waiter who just said “ sorry”, undercooked chips , burned fishcake that only tasted of salt , salad that looked 5 days old . Most worrying was no one asked about allergies. Not to is incredibly dangerous practice. Last year I left a great review. I’ve eaten here upteen times. I won’t return. It’s genuinely so far removed from how it used to be. (Also note all the recent 5 star reviews are from 1st time reviewers. Interesting. )
