We came upon this lovely, cosy, friendly place by coincidence and are very pleased we did. As it was evening time we had that with the most delicious cocktails we have ever had! The service was great and the staff very friendly. So all in all everything fit in nicely. We had a look at the 'menu' and decided that we'll definitely have to be back to sample the interesting looking dishes. See you soon

This is a great romantic restaurant in Fulham. We went there for an easy couple’s night out not expecting much, but found a new favourite restaurant in the area with great food, helpful service and reasonable price (for SW London).

pequeño restaurante encantador escondido sobre un bar en Parsons Green. ¡El chef debería estar en un restaurante michelin star! La comida fue exquisita! Me encantó mi bacalao! ¡Vino con tinta de calamar y repollo y fue el paraíso en un plato! El servicio fue muy amable y lo pasamos muy bien. El ambiente podría ser un poco mejor para un lugar tan maravilloso. ¡Se merecen más!

We have been before but not for a while and what was Claude's kitchen is now Upstairs at Amuse Bouche. We were worried it wouldn't be as good. Well our fears were not realised. Same fab food and drinks thankfully. The menu has been tweaked to a 2 course or 3 course price which for me works better, at least you know how much the bill will be! The cocktails were lovely. But worthy of a big mention was our waitress (floor manager?) Raquel, as in Only Fools and Horses, she was a delight and nothing was too much trouble. She helped to make what was already a special occasion into an extra special occasion. Can't wait to go again.

I was looking for somewhere fun to take my friend for her birthday and this was just perfect, as well as very conveniently situated opposite Parson's Green tube station. The staff were delightful and could not do enough to help. And the food was absolutely delicious. First, good toasted bread and truffle butter arrived. We chose crayfish and sweetbreads for starters. Both were perfect. The Dover sole and lamb were also wonderful, with beautiful vegetables served alongside. We enjoyed a splendid rhubarb pudding and a brilliant selection of British cheeses to finish. Nice wines choices too, and not too expensive. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Extremely poor. I’m never one to write a review but it was bitterly disappointing. - We walked in to Claude’s Kitchen and the staff member said ‘take a seat anywhere’... with only half the restaurant full, a quarter Of the tables had not been reset - were an absolute mess. - We took a seat on Valentine’s Day with two tables with old desserts next to us. Our bread came out and we had to wait 15 minutes for side plates. a wine list and cutlery. - Food was average after I was reading so many great reviews (no where near as bad as the service) - I asked the waiter to clear the dirty tables next to us which was key with attitude - At the end of the meal I said how dissatisfied I was and the girl who had been the cause of much of the poor service said that her staff weren’t trained properly and that they were also understaffed.. she suggested a free drink downstairs after the £200 meal with service charge was already paid. - Absolute disgrace - strongly suggest not to go here. Management should be absolutely ashamed of themselves on Valentine’s Day.. and I heard two tables complaining about service and the food also. -

Good and friendly service, wasn't that busy for a Saturday night, was recommended by staff to join the noisy bar down stairs which had a decent singer. Mains were good, wine by the glass also good. Dessert though was one of the worst things I have had, "rhubarb crumble" was ~1.5 inches square and was awful. Left half (so had two mouthfuls, left two mouthfuls). £7.00 for that?

We had dinner at Claude’s kitchen and overall very disappointed, defo much worse than when we last visited. We go to tommy tucker a lot and the service and food is always great and tonight’s experience at Claude’s kitchen was frankly, the pits. Service was slow, our table had a bit of crusty bread left over from someone else’s dinner hanging around ( we returned it to the waitress just before our starters arrived). Our starters arrived but we had no cutlery, only napkins ( we had to ask for cutlery to eat with, as the waitress didn’t notice ) Our mains arrived but our wine did not.. by the time the wine came, our mains were cold. First world problems but this usually doesn’t happen in other restaurants.. We ordered dessert to share- the menu said “ strawberries with vanilla tofu cream, meringue and spearmint” I was apprehensive about the tofu cream but I was wrong as it was lovely - light, delicate and fresh. Unfortunately the meringue was blended into the tofu cream so the dessert tasted like strawberries with crushed aspirin in vanilla cream, mmmm. We ate the strawberries and left the rest relatively untouched.. when the waitress cleared the plates she of course didn’t notice, so I told her that the dessert was pretty awful. She shrugged, said she would tell the chef, and left. The tuna tartare, halibut were actually very good. Unfortunately a meal out is an experience which includes service, ambience etc . The starter/main was beautifully cooked but service and that god-awful dessert were a massive let down. We love to support local establishments, but not sure what to think after this frankly rubbish experience

Don't know where to start. I have eaten at thousands of restauraunts around the world and never have I actually quit dining and walked off. To give some backstory, this was my second experience at this establishment. The first time was a few weeks ago with a larger party and the experience was so poor that after one of us wrote a review on here we got invited back to an all-expenses paid dinner and drinks. So this time it was supposed to be redemption: the previous waitress had appararantly been let go and the manager was supposed to personally serve us. It took 30-minutes to get our drinks order in and the atmopshere was super tense from the moment we walked in. No one introduced us to the "all inclusive free dinner and drinks" offer that was promised via email from the general manager. We chose not to order the tasting menu, since last time it was a mess: the paired wines arrived sloppily late and the menu did not make sense on paper or on my palette. Back to this night. We ordered starters and mains hoping to finally get a taste for Claude's Kitchen and for them to redeem themselves as the "really upset" manager had wrote us in an email. The drinks were a little faster than last time (15 minutes as opposed to 45 minutes), but the whole service was just awkward. It felt like the staff despised us for taking them up on their redemption attempt to serve us a proper dinner. It felt like the staff was looking down on us and this was felt by our whole dining group. The starters arrive one hour in. Still, the server (who was definitely not the manager as promised) had said nothing about how this was supposed to be a treat on the house. So, one of us decided to double-check this by asking for the manager. The manager comes in and has a chat with one of us in the hallway and says that we are in the wrong and that we need to pay for all the drinks or they will stop serving us. Another waiter comes along and tells the manager and my friend who was dealing with him to go up to the office so other diners don't hear the sensitive conversation. I understand this, but taking a customer to your office in the middle of dinner? Wow. The manager takes my friend up to his office and further words are said. The attitude of the manager was that we were 100% wrong in thinking that the night was supposed to be free, even though his email clearly states that we were going to be treated for no expense. At Claude's the customer is always wrong. Our group was in disbelief after my friend returned from "the principals office" and we collectively took them up on their rude remark to stop the service if we would not pay for our drinks. We walked out with barely touching our starters and went next door for amazing main courses. This was an even worse experience than the first time - nothing was improved and the service was straight out of Hell's Kitchen. How can this happen? The manager and staff knew we were coming and if they wanted to redeem themselves, why were we treated like this? It just does not make sense. I would not step back in to this restauraunt even if they paid me. To the manager: I hope you learn something from this and start treating customers with the respect that they deserve and learn live up to your promises.

Had one of the worst London restaurant experiences in memory last night at Claude's Kitchen due to the incompetent and unfriendly staff, led by a chap called George who purported himself to be one of the owners. If true, that's unfortunate for Claude and his partners as George is one of the most incompetent and rude (un)professionals I've had the misfortune to encounter. We originally had a booking for 7 people. Unfortunately, three people had to cancel so I tried to ring the restaurant 24 hours in advance to advise them. They didn't answer the phone several times during dinner service (first warning). When I was able to finally get through at lunchtime on the day, they updated our booking to 4 people for 7:30pm dinner. On the evening, it was snowing in London and one of the quartet was also unable to make it while the remaining three of us turned up a range of times from 7pm-7:45. Upon arriving at 7:45, I discovered that George had failed to inform the first person she had arrived 30 min early for the booking, interrogated my other friend about the size of our party as he wanted to accept another booking - at 7:35, 5 minutes after our schedule time. As my friend wasn't sure but mistakenly thought we might actually only be two, George downsized our table. When it transpired there was a mistake and that we were three for dinner, he couldn't have less polite, accommodating or imaginative in coming up with a solution, despite there being empty four and two top tables. He also complained that we had changed the size of the original booking despite having done so well in advance (we didn't feel the need to pass on his irritation to the friends that couldn't make it due to a family emergency).Trying to make the best of a bad situation, we even suggested we would be willing to squeeze on to the smaller table he had assigned us but that idea was also struck down by George. His solution? A table for us at 9pm, 75 minutes later (and 85 minutes after he gave our table away 5 minutes past the booking). He even had the cheek to say that we were "putting him in a difficult situation" and to smugly repeat "I'm sorry, there is nothing I can do" with empty tables on hand. Sorry indeed is Old George. On one of the colder London evenings replete with light snow, it essentially ruined the evening spent trekking to Parsons Green and then having to scramble to find an alternative on a Saturday evening. We didn't eat at Claude's and never will with the shambolic treatment we received by one of the owners who was so out of his depth and ill-equipped to handle a situation with any class or grace, so focused was he on selling tables. Be warned the atmosphere was quite pedestrian and lacking in charm, not the warm and cosy scene it's advertised as. In our short time there, we could also see other patrons not being served properly and looking irritated at the lack of attention they received so this unfortunate incident was clearly not an isolated one. There are many wonderful restaurants in London. Poorly run establishments with this service deserve to go out of business - or at least Claude may want to choose his front of house more wisely and think about the customer experience. Avoid at all costs or be prepared for a mediocre, underwhelming experience and London's most incompetent staff.

I have been here 7 or 8 times but have waited till now to write a review. Why? Because of the rating I'm giving it. The cooking here is fabulous, and the ingredients and the way they're prepared are just a little bit different and utterly delicious.Claude's is under a minute's walk from Parsons Green tube station. The restaurant is upstairs - the door on the right as you face the building - and is simply furnished. This place is all about the food. The menu is constantly changing depending on what produce is available. British produce is used where possible; in their words, "Claude's Kitchen uses weird and wonderful produce from the British Isles" and the choices are kept to a minimum; usually 4 starters, 4 mains and 3 sides plus a couple of specials and 4 or 5 desserts. In this way, the kitchen can concentrate on getting everything right; and they do, big time.On my last visit the starters included Bone Marrow, Roasted Baby Beets, Crayfish Risotto and Venison Tartare. Mains included Wild Halibut with sprouts and tops, lardo, watermelon and cauliflower mayo, and Venison Haunch with cider, salsify, pickled pears, nasturtium, chestnuts and chocolate. Sides included B-B-Q turnip tops with bacon and marjoram. The portions are not huge, but not small either, and are all the better for it. You can taste every mouthful, clear your plate and not be bursting at the seams. You will not be hungry either. The Amuse Bouche are also delicious, as is the bread and Marmite butter. There is always a vegetarian option, for those who like that sort of thing. The wine list is a decent length and with enough variety to satisfy most palates and wallets. In all my visits I have never been even slightly disappointed; totally the opposite; the food has been a stand-out on every occasion. If you love food, and are keen to try something a little bit different, come to Claude's. You will have one of the best meals of your life.

We booked this restaurant in order to celebrate our anniversary and were somewhat disappointed with our experience. We started with a drink in the downstairs and then moved upstairs for dinner. The menu was fairly limted and not entirely clear as to what was on offer so we asked for some guidance from the waitress who had recently started working at the establishment and was not totally sure about some of the dishes but tried very hard to help us. We decided to go for the tasting menu which proceeded to be served at a very fast pace which gave a very rushed feeling. This was probably due to the microscopic size of the portions of each of the dishes. At first, we thought the amount of food would increase as the menu was served but sadly this was not the case. After the 5th dish we finally had to draw attention to our dissatisfaction and tbe fact that we were both still very hungry. We were offered an additional dish to the menu which we gratefully accepted. We both agreed that the food tasted very good but overall felt that the meal was poor value for money. We have eaten taster menus in many top restaurants and appreciate that the portions are smaller but this was extreme. One of the courses was a slice of toast cut in two ( yes half a slice of toast each!) with a tiny blob of Marmite butter which almost disappeared under the knife. Don't think we will returning for a second visit- especially as I later noticed that a service charge had been added to our drinks bill which had been transferred from the downstairs bar!

Claude’s Kitchen can be found upstairs from Amuse Bouche, a local champagne bar in Parsons Green. The interior is stripped back, giving a somewhat shabby chic feel to the enterprise. The restaurant itself consists of basic tables and the sort of chairs one might have found in a school hall - some are still numbered and others have pupils(?) names on the backs. What was really interesting about the restaurant was the food, or rather the in some cases highly unusual combinations of ingredients. For example, asparagus with lovage, peas and coal; pollock with cabbage variations, jersey royals and ink; or burnt pear, pickled pumpkin and crisp bread; all highlighted with onion, fennel or other seeds. The menu is short and to the point - 4 starters, 4 mains and 4 sweets - and changes regularly. Cooking on the whole is good and the majority of dishes seem to work well - we were four so were able to eat our way through most of the menu. We enjoyed being teased as spiced, pickled, sweet or sour elements played with more familiar ingredients. Staff are attentive, but in our experience plates took a while to come - partly because a lot of the food is cooked to order and perhaps also due to the kitchen’s physical size (small).Overall, an experience worth repeating. About £50 a head including wine.

Went as a family and friend. The welcome at the bar was fine, music and a general good atmosphere. Then upstairs in anticipation of food. It was a complete mix. The goose main was acceptable , not too much taste from a good bird and the portion was extremely small. Do not go here if you have a big appetite! The sea bass to the 'elder ladies' apparently was very good. However my daughter had the vegetarian dish and it was inedible! We all tried thinking she was being overly fussy, but it was awful. And for presentation it actually looked like cat sick on a plate. So not a good dish. The waiters did try to placate by offering another dish or 'free' dessert. But our faith was lost. Eventually they charged us a starter portion! Which was disappointing! So all in all a very mixed experience. As said if you have a larger appetite do not visit, the menu is very limited but atmosphere good.

This is not a usual may I say 'run of the mill' restaurant. The menu (see photos) is wonderfully short and to the point. Ask the waiter for a description of what you will actually get but again you can match the photo of the menu to the photos of what is served. The others chose smoked beef while I went for the sea trout as a starter. The black rice crisps were to die for and I stupidly shared. The trout might have looked nicer if sliced but the whole combo tasted so fresh and healthy. Clean plates all round. Next up was the Goose. Ok the only fault was the turnip. Unless combo with the purée it was a little tasteless and bitter. The ginger beer pear, pear and goose was terrific. Again clean plates all round. We all had puddings, all different so basically between us we had practically everything on the menu and all agreed it was a refreshing change and looked forward to going back and trying a new menu. Looks like about 36 covers so delighted that although close to full, clearly still a quiet gem. Service was friendly and cost expected for food of this quality. Recommended for adventurous foodies.

We booked a Valentine's Meal on the basis of a recommendation in the Good Food Guide and were delighted with our experience. We started with a glass of fizz in the bar downstairs where a live pianist was playing and enjoyed them both while waiting for the meal to start. When called, we moved upstairs via the candle lit staircase to the dining room and started on a multi course tasting menu. I am dairy intolerant and this was handled very well by our waitress ( Swede who spoke excellent English) who was friendly and informative throughout. Some of the courses were unconventional (there was a course of heritage carrots) but we enjoyed them all feeling that flavours were well balanced, long on the palate and interesting. Extra interest came from the use of nuts and the introduction of strongly flavoured seeds that gave some "sparks" of flavour. We particularly enjoyed a refresher course based on fennel, pistachio nuts, garlic and, I think, mint. The fish course was superb and the Goose delicious. Overall we rated this as an interesting menu that kept us engaged throughout. We drank (by the glass) a south African Sauvignon Blanc which stood up very well and the house red (a Carignan I think) and both were good value. So often we go to a restaurant, pay good money and come away feeling we could have cooked something not dissimilar at home - this was not one of those. We paid good money for something we certainly couldn't have produced ourselves and regarded the meal as good value even though we live in the West Country and normally find London prices to be a bit fierce.

My partner and I had the Valentines taster menu yesterday (valentines day). We sat down at 3pm and didn't leave until 6.30 - it was quite a long lunch. The menu didn't read very easily, and left us a little confused (we overheard other tables saying similar things), and some of the dishes left us even more confused after tasting them. Confident in combining alternative ingredients together, I would say that in the majority of dishes yesterday, it just didn't quite work. Either lacking in seasoning, or just plain odd. The fish dish was good, if a little small, and the goose cheek had serious potential, but the meat was quite dry and it needed more seasoning. We had a bottle of wine with the meal, which was just the house red at £21 (lovely enough), and still ended up with a bill of £175. I'd happily pay this for the wow factor we were expecting, but unfortunately it didn't win me over. Left feeling a bit bemused. Perhaps the 'normal' menu works slightly better?

This restaurant is upstairs and as such has little street presence, but it makes the other eating places in the area seem pedestrian with the quality of its food. My wife and I ate at Claude's Kitchen last Saturday. We had high expectations, having had a wonderful meal there last year. Unfortunately, this time it was a big disappointment. My starter of pork jowl looked very impressive but the jowl was simply 2 chunks of fairly bland, slightly tough and slightly cold, pork. Definitely didn't live up to the fancy look of it. My wife had mallard for main and we had to send it back. We both love our game and rare steaks but this was, quite literally, raw. So raw it was cold on the inside. To give the restaurant their credit, they took the price of her dish off the bill. Our puddings were utterly divine but could still not redeem the meal from being a disappointment. A real shame for somewhere that we completely loved first time round. Perhaps we'll go straight to pudding next time.

A great evening. We are in our 60s and all around us were people half our age. We took people less than half our age and all had a great time. The choice on the menu is small but there was something there for all of us. Those that ordered the lamb loved it and it was cooked to perfection. My fish dish was impeccable as was the vegetarian main and we all loved the choices we made for our starters. Could hardly fit a pudding in but did and the two we shared amongst 6 were tremendous. The atmosphere was vibrant, the choice of wines were good and we will be going again to go there again. Feel we could do this alone too. Lovely waiter who was very helpful and did his very best for us. There was absolutely nothing to dislike about Claude's Kitchen. We all had a really good time, with good food and a lovely waiter and we could hear ourselves speak!. All- in-all a terrific diniing experience.

Funnily enough and in line with the title, this place is frequented by Made in Chelsea crowd. I do not watch the show but my girlfriend spotted a couple of 'actors' next to us. This may make this place quite appealing to some Triapdvisees, especially since this place has a very "Made in Chelsea" atmosphere. Some may not, however, appreciate the overly 'rustic' feel as it seems to detract from the hygienic standard that the place purports to represent. This 'posh' ambiance does disappoints since the food, although presented in a neat and fairly artistic manner, falls quite far short of expectations. The beef I had was quite bland and the seabass likewise did not have much going for it. The deserts are slightly better. The menu is also very limited and so may not cater for most needs. The wait staff is also quite slow. Prices are a bit expensive for the quality of the food but had there been slightly better quality food the price may be justified.

I would say that for the price it is punching slightly above its weight - some of the combinations in the dishes are a bit overkill, and simplicity would be better. We first visited Claude's kitchen a year or so ago, and thoroughly enjoyed it, so thought we would return. Now I have always taken Jay Rayner's views on food with a pinch of salt. However, I suspect Claude's Kitchen would have Mr Rayner pulling his flowing locks out, and on balance I would have to agree. First the menu does at times leave you scratching your head as to what you are actually ordering. Further there is a reason you don't see some flavour combinations together - they simply don't work. A good piece of beef brisket does not need a cold pear as an accompaniment, nor does sea-bass need cold peaches. Portions are also a tad on the meagre side. We really liked this restaurant but I fear success has lead to hubris, and things are not going in the right direction.

Came here for dinner and could not really fault the place! The female waitress was friendly and attentive but not pushy. As it is a converted residential home it had a cosy feel - only the chairs and benches were not the most comfortable to sit on. Downstairs more the bistro style and upstairs where we were sitting a fine dining tendency without over straining guests. The Black Fig starter was pleasant to eat; Duck Breast - the plate was slightly chaotic; Chocolate Dessert - high quality chocolate - the spicy tuille is surely a matter of taste; for us a good average eating place - we come again

Claude’s Kitchen clearly aims to build a following by serving creative food whilst refraining from being overly pretentious and on this basis we certainly found the restaurant to be a success. It would be a stretch to claim that the dining room was packed with all sorts (the restaurant is situated on the periphery of Fulham after all) but there was definitely a pleasantly laid back, casual atmosphere which was supplemented by highly attentive service. I found the food had a tendency to be a touch minimalist (in terms of the flavour combinations as opposed to portion size) but this actually added a certain charm to the proceedings. A nice evening was had there by all from our party for sure.

Met up with a friend I hadn't seen for a while on a Monday evening, the welcome was warm and everyone looked busy and most importantly happy! So off we went up to our table in the most beautiful romantic looking restaurant space I've ever eaten in.. The first thing that hits you is the smell of freshly baked bread! You know it's going to be good if they put the effort into doing this each day! Seated to out table we were given water and a great slab of herb butter with the warm crusty sourdough. Bliss Starters arrived promptly without feeling rushed. We had been recommended wine to go with our meal which I think is always great to have an experts opinion Starter I had rabbit leg and for main slow cooked pork belly and terrine. Both were standout dishes for me and these guys seem to come up with interesting combinations with equally technical brilliance! Jerusalem artichoke cloud! So light and fabulous with the pork! Nothing seemed overbearing and portion sizes were perfect. Cardamon and carrot for dessert with an apple ice and raspberries was a great clean finish to the meal washed down with a glass of dessert wine..Three courses of inspired cooking for £20 Monday and Tuesday!! With the menu changing each week these chefs clearly like to push themselves and love feedback from guests. Will be happily placing my comments on menus in the future.. What an absolute find!

The manager Emma needs to go on a course to learn how to speak to her customers. She needs to learn the concept of customer is always right. In this day and age as we have so many wonderful restaurants to choose from, good food ovbiously is a must, however we must not neglect service and professionalism. I booked for a table of 10 people for a special deal 2 courses for £16. At the time of the booking I was informed that we had to be seated as 2 tables of 5 and I requested that the tables should be next to each other. So I was horrified that the 2 tables were in two opposite corners of the restaurant, I appreciate that they do not have a table for 10 people, however this could be easily accommodated by moving a couple of tables around as this booking was booked well in advance. When I queried re the special offer, I was told it was only for Mon and Tues, however this was not communicated at the time of booking. The food was average, starters were very small portion but the size of the main is acceptable, however there were no vegetables as side dishes. The affogato which some reviews raved about was average.I had a coversation with the manager Emma at the end of the meal and her attitude came across was 'this is how it is, tough!' When my husband mentioned that it was his birthday celebration, Emma replied that she did ask me to point out to her the birthday boy but I felt that being a profesional she should ask me when we arrived. However the best thing of the eveing was that we did have a very friendly and lovely waitress! The sad thing is that now all my friends including myself are not prepared to go back to Claude's kitchen again.

The food was absolutely dreadful. Firstly the menu is extremely limited: 3 starters, and 4 main plates. My wife ordered the herring as a starter, which left us speechless. It had a slab of what seemed to be canned herring, with a slice of grapefruit on the side, surrounded by stale popcorn. This was truly one of the worst starters we have ever had. Given the limited selection of main plates, I had their 'cornbread' main dish which was one of the four main plates. It lacked any taste and was a slab of cornbread, covered in a bit of salad. This was certainly a surprise, and at £16 for the cornbread entree it was exceptionally poor value for money, except for entertainment value of recounting this story to loads of friends.

Unfortunately our last two visits have been disappointing. After many excellent meals over the past year or two, we visited in May and then again a few weeks ago. On both occasions the food had lost what it used to have – combining many good ingredients in a fairly complex way, but with the natural flavours and textures still coming through. After 3 different courses and 2 meals, virtually all of them showed much less imagination in concept and heavy in their execution. For example. a lamb dish had a pretty much single appearance (as opposed to previous visits where plates showed a real mix of different bits to the meal) and rather heavy flavor. Other dishes much the same. Some dishes seem to combine ingredients that simply didn’t work well. Only two dishes (sardines with flavoured ice, and a 70% chocolate pudding with accompaniments) out of the ten or so we had, showed the original flare that these guys became known for. The food was really just what would be served in a decent gastro pub, not a restaurant known for its imagination and ability to deliver that on a plate. We used to trek a few miles across town to visit, take people here, and recommend it, but unfortunately not currently, after two disappointing experiences. Otherwise, it showed the every lovely service and atmosphere.

Ok, so I love what they are trying to do. But damn, it's as simple as this... I've sent back the main course 2 out of 3 times that I've been! While I appreciate hugely that the chefs (ex-Petersham Nurseries) are trying to do some really interesting menus all the time, they just need to tone it down a bit. I like unusual and edgy, but NOT experimental. I am not a guinea pig! Guys, keep the experimenting to your guests at home, and serve us the ones you know work. Give you an example, muscles with beef fillet... their take on surf and turf. Absoutely, and unambiguously disgusting. These just don't work as a combination. And surprise surprise there's only one incidence of this dish anywhere in the world on the internet - some Saturday morning 10am chef on UK morning television. Forget it. The other times I've been unhappy, the meat was simply awful. How can they possibly get this wrong. What annoyed us most was that on initially addressing the waitress, she said without prompting, "is it the lamb?" - clearly others had already sent their's back. We said yes and it was whisked away instantly. This is amateur behaviour from chefs of such calibre. I get that there's only 4 mains on the menu so to shut one down for the whole evening gives diners little choice, but if you don't, you get reviews like this on TripAdvisor!! Really, I hope these are teething problems because what this restaurant is trying to do is what Parsons Green wants - high quality food experience. If they cleaned up the act properly and got some decent waiting staff in (although the current staff are lovely), it could ultimately be Michelin starred, but not even close carrying on like this. The cloud dessert thingy is to die for by the way. Do it. But don't be scared to tell the chef if your main isn't up to scratch! You'll be doing us all a favour.

My first visit to Claude's Kitchen was not a disappointment. The homemade butter was absolutely divine, and although I had sworn off the carbs, I had to indulge as it was just rude not to. The starters were a little fussy, the many flavours detracting from the great taste of the grilled octopus or rabbit terrine on their own, but the mains were damn tasty. My chef boyfriend's only gripe with the mains was the lack of sauce/gravy to go with my lamb rump or his guinea fowl. There is a 3 course deal on a Monday or Tuesday evening, which I highly recommend. The place is cosy, romantic, and perfect for a date. I shall be returning.
