Clapham Fish And Chip Shop in Bedford

My second time buying from here. Very good chips, generous portions. It was a Friday so very busy but worth the wait and the 20 minute drive from my home. Clean shop. Happy to give 5 stars.

Proper traditional chippy serving the full proper chippy range up to and including, spam fritters and pineapple rings (always a good sign). Fish is fresh, chips are marvellous. Staff are friendly. Good slap-up portions.

Just visited and had the most amazing fish and chips we've had for very long time. Very friendly service too. Definitely 10/10 👏

The only thing that I think could make it better is if it was open a little bit later as sometimes i cannot get there until after 9pm and thats when they close. Also,delivery option in and around clapham would help those who cannot get out but love their food. I also cannot say enough how tasty their curry sauce is and their chips are always nice. Friendly service too

I have recently moved to the area and I had walked past this place a couple of times and it smelt great so I decided to try it. Unfortunately I was very disappointed with the quality of the Fish and Chips, the quality of the fish was fine but everything was dripping in oil and the batter was of such poor quality and the chips were undercooked. It may have been an off night as there is always a que out of the door so I will try again but my first experience was not a good one.

I have just eaten a lovely piece of fish with chips from the fish shop in Clapham. It was very good far too many chips for 1 person but someone else may eat them all. The chips were crunchy on the outside and soft in the middle. I can't understand the reviews that said they didnt like it. The staff very helpfull and cheerful and I couldnt have ask for anything more from a chip shop.

Best fish and chips in the Bedford area, always has been. I drive from south side of town to go there, it is always quality. I 30 or more years of eating here ihave never had a bad meal.

Chips tasted as though they had been warmed up from yesterday! Should be crisp on the outside and soft n fluffy on the inside.....not these, awful. Fish was chewy. Will not be recommending to anyone.

Food is rubbish, sausage roll was that hard could wedge a door open with it

Real tasty, value for money, traditional fish 'n' chips or, in my case (as a veggie), chips 'n' veg pasty, spring roll, cheese and onion fritter, pineapple fritter, pickled egg and mushy peas (not necessarily all at once!). The fish looked good too with a lovely golden batter.

Made to wait 10mins for chips after being told only a min. The man serving was miserable, £1:80 for a very small portion of under cooked chips that gave me the sqits for 24hrs.

Always very friendly and their food is great
