Amazing food! Awesome chciken burgers and wings, I had a takeaway and only waited 10 mins to collect. Staff are friendly and helpful. The dirty tater tots are a must try!

Been wanting to try this place for a long time after hearing all the hype and came away feeling a little deflated if I'm honest. Tried the wings, burger and fried chicken as I wanted to get a bit of everything and while nothing I had was outright bad, it wasn't anything I'd go out of my way for either. The chicken was fine, but absolutely nothing better than what you'd get from your average high street chicken shop. The portion sizes were good, and the food arrived quickly but I was just expecting something better after hearing all the rave reviews the past couple of years, and was left feeling like I could have got something equally as good from any of the numerous Chicken Shops in Bedford for half the price. Going in I was warned by another member of our party who had been before to avoid anything resembling a sweet sauce, as they're just too overpowering and this proved to be correct for the members of our party who did order the sweet sauces. I tried one of the Sweet and Sour strips and for me, it was basically inedible. Service was okay, some members of staff were polite and friendly while others weren't at all, seems like luck of the draw and one member of our party waited a long time for a Brownie to arrive (to the point where the waitress serving us came and apologised three or four times while we were waiting) for it to be passed around the table as it tasted so weird. Can only assume it had been stored alongside savory or garlicky items, as the flavour had totally infused. All in all, good setup, but food just wasn't on the level I was expecting based on reputation.

Food was great, unique and tasty. Highly recommended for a restaurant and takeaway.

Very slow service on a Friday night. We waited over an hour for two burgers to take away. The food was reasonable but not worth the wait.

The Big Boys Food Club review one of the best chicken shops around in Bedfordshire we had to start our first food review here firstly you're greeted by a vibrant atmosphere lost of signs of that are clear and tell you exactly what you want big and bold writing very helpful staff friendly the speed of service was very good and clear as our server helped us with our foods choices we had the chicken breast chicken wings potato tots and a luke the nuke burger which came just under £40 we are Big Boys but even for us the food portions were big but they weren't just big but also full of flavours wanting you to keep eating the star of the show definitely was the potato tots which could of been a meal itself but if your looking for quality tasty food good family atmosphere definitely come here oh and they even have a old school arcade machine in the corner next to the takeaway till.

Unreal chicken shop. Couldn't believe how good the food was. The burgers are generously portioned and very well judged. Chicken strips to die for, as are the cheesy tots. Well worth the visit.

If you haven't been, Go! Great food and a great atmosphere, weekday lunch time deals are a bargain as well.

It was very expensive for the portion. Very noisy music. No one came over to ask if the food was good.

Had a really great experience here. Very nicely decorated and very clean. I must say the music was rather loud though so had to shout a little to hear eachother. I can't fault the chicken it's so juicy and crispy. If I was to say one thing that could be improved it was the garlic wings. There was too much of the mayo sauce ontop making them very sickly. Other than that I will be going again!

Shout out to Shakira who took my order. I placed my order but then changed my mind, but I had already paid. Shakira was nothing short of amazing and demonstrated great customer service even when there was a queue behind me. Food was great and Shakira made the experience even better.

No taste and slow to get up out of bed

Hands down the best chicken around. We often make the drive from Peterborough to Bedford for this amazing food. I am slowly working my way through the flavours of the wings but each time always end up with the Buffalo. This place is a little on the pricey side, but in my opinion is worth it in terms of value for money.

Cakes gone off ordered brownies please do not do it The chicken came out in 20 seconds left it all at table cold paid a lot of money for food I could have got from a very bad cafe. Waitress was picking her nose behind bar please go to hitchin it is worth the journey. We are now on our way there

If you’re in Bedford and you’re looking for fried chicken, then look no further. Chicken George Jnr is a great mix of pub meets fast food. The food was cooked to perfection, the chicken was succulent and tasty. I highly recommend the buffalo wings (which deservedly have an award) and the special Luke the Nuke burger, with a side of garlic and Parmesan potato tots. Definitely will be coming back in the future.

Bit expense for the type of food but great atmosphere and decent flavours. Was busy but had to wait for mine when everyone else's came out sooner

A must visit when in town, the food is excellent and the service very good. Went at lunchtime and the restaurant was busy.

Hello, I’ve visited chicken George today BEDFORD and I’m very disappointed with the customer service. I’ve never been more disgusted with a young girls breath in my entire life absolutely sickening experience I’m sorry to say this but I will not be visiting again!

Best chicken in the country, dont miss out

Best chicken shop around, no one else comes close in my own opinion. The box they do (pictured) has the perfect amount of food in and it's very very tasty. Chris and the staff have done a fantastic job here and continue to do so.

Not being local to Bedford, my friends had raved about restaurant and it did not disappoint. The food and service was second to none and I’d highly recommend visiting. I had accidentally forgotten my card holder at our table and only realised once I was back home. A member of staff kindly offered to post it back to me, free of charge, despite my many attempts to reimburse the cost!! I think this is a true testament to the level of care they provide to their customers and their wonderful ethics amongst the staff and management. I will no doubt be back when I return to Bedford.

Another good feed from Chicken George. Big fan of the specials that they rotate. Booking a table is a must on the weekend, but that's because it's always busy! Great place to watch sports with a nice drink and food. Plus it has Vimto on tap, genius!

Overall the food was of a good standard, coming at lunch time there is some excellent value for money. Some of the food didn’t quite work for me I.e garlic butter wings, but overall definitely worth trying. Some of the best fried chicken you will ever eat.

Took 1 of my residents there for lunch the atmosphere was great the people that work there were friendly and amazing the food was incredible if you think KFC is good ure definitely love this place way better and the loaded fries to die for and price is very good definitely go back again 😀

Great place for lunch, some of the best chicken I’ve eaten. Chilled atmosphere, great staff, plenty of choice of drinks, ordered from the lunch menu, amazing value. Would definitely recommend if you like fried chicken, enjoy a drink, like sport or actually just want a chilled time. I’ll definitely be going back!!

Great customer service for a start. The team confirmed we were able to watch F1 on a Saturday lunchtime which was a nice surprise when there is football available. We booked an early table and were able to get our food quite quickly. 45 mins later the queue to order was really long so recommend booking early. We could see why as the chicken wings were simply the best a couple of us had ever eaten (no joke). Large wings, cooked well and with the most amazing flavours. Definitely going back for more. With or without F1!

We Ordered the whoppa, saw it on a YT review and it was a lot bigger (I think this was the Hitchin branch) the fillets were bland and a bit dry but it was a bit steep for £11.50, tried the el chapo wings and the guac on there was tasteless and the wings were spicy beyond being edible which is a shame because they absolutely nailed the coating and it had a nice crunch but the flavour profile wasn't all there, the Mac N Cheese tasted like parmesan with cream and was unseasoned, was lacking a crust of some kind. It has potential if it gets the flavour profiles right and it's pretty cool there's and arcade machine but I don't think it's anything special

Ribs we're lovely, chicken ok, where you can eat and what part of the menu you order from was a bit weird. Some do the customers were a bit culturally deprived.

Always great to come and have a Chicken George, I'm a returning customer who was a regular Friday night pop in when I lived in Luton, where the shop was originally before they moved to Bedford. Food is always fab. Just love the ribs. Had a chilli wings today, which nearly blew my head off! was hot but good!

Popped in for lunch and both of us got the chicken wings with a burger to go, restaurant/takeaway with plenty of seating and big garden. Food was delicious 10/10 definitely worth the wait and money.

Just love the food but have noticed the chicken portions are a lot smaller than they used to be. When you get takeout I think they put the small stuff in the box and keep the big pieces for the restaurant customers

A little disappointing finding out that an American based chicken/wing spot doesn't have ranch on the menu. Forgivable as the real deal can be difficult to source in the UK, but we weren't impressed with the food altogether. I ordered the Buffalo strips which the menu indicated came with bleu cheese mayo and celery but only the chicken strips were brought to our table. I brushed it off thinking maybe I'd somehow ordered wrong, but as we were leaving, we saw on the receipt that I was charged the full menu price for the strips so I'm not sure what happened there. My husband ordered the Buffalo chicken sandwich, took one bite and looked ill, saying the buffalo sauce tasted "like sweat". He choked down a few more bites and then we decided to leave, still hungry and disappointed. The service was fine and friendly.

Had to measure a job up in Bedford so googled chicken George to see how far hitchin was as I knew there was a CG there. How lucky there was one in Bedford too! The original one in Luton will always be the best in my opinion, but Bedford continues with the next level chicken. The normal fried chicken is fab but the wings are on a different level, the restaurant is really cool and staff are excellent

Missing all chips from order, ribs were dry as anything and smothered in sauce to attempt to hide the dryness, chicken just mediocre, ( pig out box bought)

Probably the best fried chicken I've eaten. If I'm working in Bedford I try to make time for their lunch deal as it is amazing value. The wings and sauces are great and I can see why they have won so many awards

Amazing chicken burgers only let down by location. If you know Bedford you'll know Tavistock street is a pain to park. But that aside, highly recommend.

Review: 1yr old - updated. Revisit was great. Very honest review for first time visit and for a newly opened location. Pros: This was an enjoyable experience. Great Bedford location and atmosphere, with a beer garden area and with additional food van service. Very busy, very lively, good music, friendly staff and live sports bar experience. What more can you want? Variety of menu choices, wing flavours that you probably never tried before, but always a variety to choose from and options for everyone. Love this place! Cons: The sauce was all over and under my burger. This was very difficult to eat. Sauce was drowning the burger, with a soggy bun and the burger fell apart trying to eat this. Was a very messy process. Overall, this is a new establishment and only been open for a week. Great place and glad there’s one finally in Bedford. Will come again!

First visit and it certainly lived upto its reputation. The best chicken we have eaten, superb.

Really friendly staff nice and relaxed atmosphere. I used the takeaway service which was really easy. The food was nicely presented and smelled amazing.

DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU HAVE ALLERGIES. Came out of dinner with a friend. I have a dairy allergy. The staff at the bar were sweet but clueless about allergies. They stumbled through the scrappy allergen paper and I had to take it off them to read it. Turns out it was 2 years out of date and did not represent their current menu. After ordering I was bought the dish I originally enquired about but told the girl I couldn’t have. It contained alllll the dairy. Realised I’d also been charged for it so I approached the manager and explained I wasn’t able to have that dish due to allergies she immediately damanded if I’d told the girl about it and when I said I had and confirmed myself on the allergen guide she began to give me a refund in cash without asking when I’d paid card. I then let her know her allergen guide was two years out of date and did not represent her current menu, her response was ‘oh well we’re Updating the menu’ For the last two years??? After that she gave me the refund and asked if I wanted to take the dish home. The one I can’t eat and didn't Want due to allergies???? Some extreme updating and training is required before they’re shut down for killing someone! Allergies are no joke and as someone who works in the food service industry they better step up before it’s too late.

food was good but the service was DIABOLICAL I ordered some chicken tenders and then asked if they had dairy in as have a severe allergy to which they replied yes so asked to see the allergen menu which was two years out of date! I proceeded to order a kids meal as that’s all they had that didn’t contain milk . Food arrived with original chicken tenders I’d asked to be cancelled that had diary in and I was charged for them (staff still charged me and sent out food I am severely allergic to) so I spoke to the manager and asked for a refund as they contained dairy she rudely asked me if I had made my allergy clear when ordering to which I replied of course I did! I kindly let her know that the allergen menu was 2 years out of date and didn’t contain half their current menu she abruptly replied they were in the process of updating it (two years on!!)… I received my refund and was then was shoved on and told I may as well take the tenders away and eat them anyway when I had clearly made it clear I have a severe allergy to dairy. For the staff and then the management not to take my allergy seriously is extremely concerning! This is very dangerous that a food chain is not taking their allergens seriously or even seemed to care when it was kindly pointed out to them. The food was nice and great restaurant and atmosphere but the service from the staff and management was so disappointing.

Yeah, first visit for a family birthday, chicken burger 🍔 wad excellent and atmosphere was good with live sports. Music and commentary was quite loud, so other than talking to nearby family members, it was impossible to talk across the table.

Absolutely fantastic food as it has been since I've known, I always used it in Luton while living there, and moved to Bedford now it's still top quality..

Foods decent, service and speed decent. If anything, I always leave with a doggy bag.

From the get go my wife and I were greeted sat and shown how the restaurant works we were also with a baby so they had plenty of seating for prams wheelchair access ect but we ordered the Pig Out with a side of Mac and Cheese to be honest we didn't need it I thought it would be a little while wait as it was a big order but looking into the open kitchen I can see it being prepared I just knew that it was our meal coming in about 15 mins it was too our table the food was hot fresh and not been sitting there waiting the friend chicken was what I personally only came for and it lived up to the hype I'm a big eater and was done after two big peices of breast it definitely was real meat full of flavor because unlike alot of other restaurants you eat your hunger again 20 mins later we'll at least I am lol, but I was still stuff a few hours after I'd definitely recommend this place next time we return will look at their burgers and other menu items and definitely give their retro games machine a go they definitely lived up to word of mouth and catered to my family's taste bud Chicken George is finally a chicken shop that will put KFC to shame KUDOS to the owner and staff members on excellent service

Fantastic spot with a very sports bar skew audience. A lads night out more than a romantic spot for 2. However the food is the star of the show whilst also good beer selection. 4 stars for service as everything is served in cardboard disposables but I'm being harsh. Love it and the vibes / atmosphere is great. Superbowl party perhaps?!!?
