Great food and great service. Loved the Salad and the rice bowl. Afnan was great at his job

Food is ok nothing amazing but felt the staff were a bit lacking and rude at times. For what you’re getting I wouldn’t think it’s worth the price. Ceaser salad is absolutely terrible compared to how it is described on the menu. I’d not be running to go back if back up in Belfast

I’ve never been one to write reviews, but this place had the best comfort food during my trip. Everything was fresh, packed with flavour, and the service was fantastic—especially Afnan and Mahir, who were an absolute pleasure to chat with! In case you’re curious, I ordered the Chicken Caesar Salad, Piri Piri Chicken Pizza, and Chicken Strips with Fries. No judgement—sometimes, you just need some good, hearty food that hits the spot. Haha!

Had an amazing time in city picnic. Had spicy bird which was really good and seeing their picnic boxes getting ready to deliver was an absolute delight. Recommend 10/10. Afnan is a great server and really funny as well as Mahir who is amazing at his job.

I have been here before in October 2024 and felt that time was better than this time. It’s disappointing you can’t order starters and mains separately. We ordered buffalo wings which I presumed came with a garlic dip, but unfortunately the garlic is all over the wings, which was not great as my partner doesn’t like garlic sauce and we hoped to share. The pizza pocket dough balls are a 11/10 can’t fault them. We also got the brisket fries which were amazing. Unfortunately I can’t say the same for the burgers, the meat wasn’t the best and didn’t enjoy the toppings. As for the cocktails I ordered a loop the loop which was completely different from last time was 1/10’this time. But I enjoyed the rest of them. I will return but would order differently next time!

I hadn't been here for years, so thought that I would go back with a friend. We really enjoyed it. The menu is varied from burgers to wings to pizzas. We had a pizza each and really enjoyed it. Very pleasant staff and quick service. Reasonably priced. Highly recommended!

City picnic was absolutely mobbed when we got there which made for a brilliant atmosphere. Had the Maple Bird chicken burger and the garlic fries and both were delicious. Best fries I had in as long as I don't remember when. Cocktails are bonkers good and the young lads who whipped up these joys certainly know their stuff. If you want one reason to visit Belfast then this is it. Fantastic!

I was looking for somewhere to eat during a short trip to Belfast, and always struggle to find somewhere safe due to being coeliac. A friend recommended City Picnic, and after looking at the menu we gave it a go. The staff were wonderful, super knowledgeable about the gluten free aspect of ordering, and very reassuring! It was a busy Saturday lunch, but nothing seemed a problem, the team were very attentive. I had a gluten free pizza that was so lush, absolutely loved it, and wonderful truffle fries. The service was quick, the team were fab, the cocktails were wonderful and the atmosphere topped it all off. Definitely worth a visit, I will be returning next time I’m over for sure!

Usually don't leave reviews but I was in City Picnic today for lunch and it was absolutely amazing. The staff were really friendly and attentive. I had the big smoke burger and it had to be one of the best burgers I've ever had. Defo recommend trying their cocktails as well, not like anything I've had before 10/10. Will be back soon!

Would come back For full coeliacs nothing here for you They use the same utensils so everything is cross contaminated The fryer is not dedicated frye¹r and they fryer gluten foid in ut so the fries and chicken are not coeliac friendly The bugers are made on a shared service that had gluten For gluten intolerant people may be ok

Went for something to eat & got seated right away. The burger was fine but not really any sauce on it so the chicken was slightly dry. So I'll try a regular burger next time. The fries were pretty good too with the addition of the bacon bits & cheese, bbq was a good choice to get aswell. The strawberry milkshake was my favourite and I'd definitely try another one next time.

Really good burger, had the Maple chicken burger and the girlfriend had the Carnivore, plus the salt caramel shake, highly recommend.

Great little restaurant, very clean and great atmosphere. Food was great and surface was perfect. Did get lost looking for the toilet though hint: its not the door on the right thats the kitchen.

We had dinner at this restaurant with my husband, he had a pizza which was quite good. For my part I took boneless chicken, I found that it lacked sauce and the accompanying cheese sauce was forgotten. A normal restaurant, quite good but which didn't impress us.

Atmosphere was amazing and staff were really friendly. Seating was a bit cramped and burgers were a bit bland but still delicious! Really enjoyed lunch here!

We saw this on line and walked past and was always busy so thought it was worth a visit. There was seven of us.

My order was not delivered at all. I am at a children’s hospital and my order was marked as delivered and it was not given to me. How did this happen when I had confirmation number? Called restaurant who said to contact Just Eat. Waiting on Just Eat to advise and refund me. I also tipped the courier.

Seated immediately and given good advice on the food. When we asked about allergies (coeliac), the (new) waitress asked the chef/owner to help. We had a detailed discussion about what was fully gluten free, what was no gluten ingredients and what wasn't gluten free. Really helpful and understanding. Just about the best I've seen. And the food (rice bowls) was great. Just the right amount, filling and really tasty. Definitely would recommend it to anyone with allergies.

The manager, Katie showcased great ownership and invited us back to try again, with assurances the service would be better. It most certainly was!! Staff attentive, food amazing and atmosphere was lovely! Very well decorated for Christmas and a great ‘buzz’ in the restaurant. Service was really on point! It was busy when we visited today 19/12/24, but the service and quality of food was not lacking!! Originally 2 stars based on service, now a well deserved 5 stars! Well done Katie and team 😀 Original review below… Dined here with my wife around 3pm 14/11/24. Not one to leave low star reviews but I’ll explain why….. Staff really friendly and pleasant ✅ Food was fantastic ✅ But, that’s where it ends. We were one of only 2 couples in at the time and 3 staff were working. Seated immediately and given menus. 10-15 mins passed and my wife had to go to the bar to ask if we needed to order there, or if someone comes to take the order. Guy behind the bar came over and placed order. Asked for water for the table….. Food arrived within 10 mins, but no water - had to ask for it again. Nobody checked in during the meal to see if everything was ok. I found this disappointing. In this day and age - service is everything. Staff as I said were very pleasant, but lack the attentiveness expected in hospitality. One member of the team was constantly looking at his phone and ignoring customers. Not a good look. We would come back as the food was first class, but I would hope the management would address the lack of service. I could appreciate delays and a lack of attentiveness if it had been busy - but it wasn’t.

The only thing I had an issue with was the tables were very rocky , I had to keep my foot on the leg through the meal to stop it from spilling our drinks

Waited 30 mins for starters which in all honesty were actually quite nice. We ordered some pizza for main, one arrived shortly after while another had to wait another 10 minutes. Pizza I ordered mention a garlic drizzle, I assumed this would be a garlic drizzle not a massive pouring of garlic mayo. When I mentioned this and asked for a new one due to my egg allergy I was almost refused. I was asked if I mentioned this to my server and I said no because it did not mention anything to do with Mayo and the lady at the table next to us agreed that she would interpret the menu this way. Lady just said fine and walked off. Customer service was not understanding or helpful. I will always mention my allergy if anything on the menu states any form of egg, mayo or coleslaw which it doesn't. Even the burgers stated they come with a mayo not a sauce. Not happy and won't be back. I've actually edited this. Table next to us ordered parmesan and truffle fries, only to be told by the same server she didn't even tho ourselves and the table on their right heard this. This server had been nothing but rude, did not catch her name but retraining needed.

Third time eating out of city picnic. Got a rice bowl with half rice and chips and chicken wings. Drinks came first and 30 mins later the food came. There was another table seated after us and had the food ate before we got ours. The chips were cold and the chicken wings tasted off. Portion sizes were small. Very disappointed.

Took over an hour to be delivered, asked for the burger with no salad or sauce and it came with everything on it

Looked around for City Picnic whilst visiting Belfast as they serve gluten free food. Was welcomed by Gavin and all the lovely waiters/waitresses. The food was amazing and being celiac was the best experience as it's so understood and inclusive ! The best chicken burger and chips I've eaten in a while (3 years) . Also enjoyed a gluten free beer and the best music taste ! :) recommend to anyone celiac and non-celiac !! Worth a visit to Belfast for this place alone !

I never leave reviews but I felt i had to so others could avoid and City Picnic can hopefully improve! The food was really hard to eat and I left near all of it, I got a margarita pizza and garlic pizza balls - both were completely bland and cardboard texture. I really wanted to eat it but it was very poor - Im not fussy and I never leave food!! My boyfriend had the same experience. Had the atmosphere of a posh uni campus dining hall/canteen Our order was messed up as well but the servers were polite and prices were okay. Could be a nice city spot if they sort out the food!!

The food was nice but the staff wasnt friendly, i was told i was getting chips with my burger then when the food came there was no chips and i questioned this with the staff member who was rude towards me!

Chicken burger tasted good though it had the tiniest onion ring in it and it came with the smallest portion of chips. The nachos were even worse in term of size, wouldn’t have filled a hole and the cost £10. Overall food tasted good but small portions and not worth the money.

The food was a bit slow. And the taste is just ok. Wouldn’t recommend the nachos.

Dined here recently and I have to say this has to be up there with the best food and cocktails I’ve had, the place is present staff are amazing and I wouldn’t hesitate on coming here again.

Good place to eat, I was sick and that's why I didn't take any photos of the food, but everything we ate was delicious and well prepared; The service took a little while, but it was worth it.

Me and my two friends went here on Thursday, the guy who served us called Rory went out of his way for us. It’s hard enough working in hospitality so we really appreciated his friendliness & the free milkshakes made our day, thanks Rory chick

I ordered a chicken caesar salad for dinner and I must say the chicken was well seasoned and had a crispy crunch. The ingredients in the salad were all fresh and delicious. My friend also got a chicken burger with bacon chips and he said it was quite good. Overall it was a good experience where the staff were accommodating and the atmosphere was nice. My only criticism would be that the food did take a while to prepare which was over 40 mins despite 3/4 of the restaurants capacity being empty. However it was worth the wait.

Good prices, great food and drinks. Got the chicken Caesar salad and cotton candy drink. 10/10

What a shame, the food here was NOT GOOD! Service was just as bad, management and staff are just not friendly; I would not recommend this place! How everyone in Belfast with a bad personality wised up employed here 😔

My burger was absolutely delicious I might even go as far as to say top 5 best burgers I have ever eaten, unfortunately what put the score down was the insulting portion of chips that was provided and the price that they charge for them. The milkshakes were sublime so all and all I great experience and I would definitely recommend to friends.

Absolutely beautiful food, tables were a little small and close together would have liked more room but other than that it was a fantastic experience

Waited at the door for around 10 minutes to be seated, once seated it took about 10 minutes to be served due to be placed in a hidden spot behind the bar, we both had chicken burgers and found the chicken to be dry, garlic chips were nice never had them before, expensive for what you get, you buy the burger separately and then have to add on fries etc. the burgers start at £9 on there own?? Saw quite a few people leaving most of the food and walking out.

I was genuinely excited to dine at this venue as the photos look great and the menu descriptions were mouth water, but, don't let that trick you! Whilst the food was good to look at, it was actually rather bland! I was extremely disappointed! Drinks service was completely inadequate and the food service wasn't far behind hit. I felt that an extra member of staff on the bar and one more on food was definitely required.

Really nice food for a fair price!

We have ordered the pizza and burgers and they were great. Flavors that we had not seen in other restaurants and we were surprised by the quality of the ingredients. The food took a while to be served but it was worth it.

Went in with my daughter for a few birthday drinks but it seems you have to eat to be served alcohol. We had already ate but didn't want to find somewhere else so just ordered chicken goujons, they were alright. Waiting for a server to come to your table is very slow although it is a busy place. The cocktails were delicious but again slow to come to table. I would go again though maybe for food as the meals I saw coming out looked good.

Great place. Mahir and Ewelina are the best, definately recommend that place. Those guys reserve a raise, customership that came out of them today was remarkable. Great cocktails also.

the atmosphere was super nice and a really friendly team , only shame was the food was clearly left under the heat lamp far too long , my boyfriends burger was lukewarm when it arrived and my rice bowl was dry around the edges . we could tell it would’ve been amazing had it come out when it was ready but just a shame it was left so long :(

Great potential but slow service on a not particularly busy Sunday and cold food. I saw my burger sat under the heat lamp a whole 10 minutes before we were served it. No one came to checkup on us or give us the bill. We had to get up to pay a while after finishing.

Great music, an amazing playlist playing during our meal. friendly staff, food good to fill a gap, teenagers and tween loved the nachos and chips!

The best restaurant of my life Being vegan the pizza was wonderful I highly recommended it. A very large card that adapts to everyone's desires. One meal was not enough for me, I very, very highly recommended!!!

Absolutely amazing, especially the young lady I believe she was called Grace, our taxi couldn’t find us so Grace walked us to the pick up point. An absolute diamond and a credit to the company. Food was bloody banging for the price (also halal beef so big up for that)

Waited 45 mins for our order to be taken. A further 15 mins for drinks to be brought down. Food wasn't really warm when served. A few people actually walked out. Manager was sarky

The food was good, milkshakes were another level, staff were lovely, only downside is that the music was way to loud and had to shout across the table to the people I came with. Id recommend getting an extra serving of the sauce your burger has because they don't put much on.

They doubled charged us for multiple items that they messed up when ordering. This was despite them saying that they would take them off the bill. Overall staff was confrontational.

Just landed in Belfast and needed food. City Picnic was such a find. The chorizo bhaji were unbelievable, tangy and hot. My burger was really nice. Recommended.

Very slow to service had to ask repeatedly to get served after waiting at least 10 minutes with no staff coming near me. Food was decidedly average, edible but lacking in anything to make it stand out. Why waste your money on below average food.

Nachos were okay but none of the flavours went together, in that the toppings were dumped on different parts of the nachos. Also a large piece of pure fat in almost it all. Won't go back again.

Some of the best gluten free food I’ve been had! Almost all the menu is GF/able to do gluten free. So delicious and great service and atmosphere.
