They always have at least; one fish/meat dish, one vegetarian dish and one vegan dish. Today my cousin and I visited. She had the vegan soup and I had the veggie pasta. It was beautiful and has actually given me ideas for future leftover cauliflower. The chef also made my daughter a cheese sandwich and opened a new cake especially for her as the other wasn’t vegetarian. I was also able to take two bakewell slices home for me and my husband to share after dinner tonight. I’ve just eaten mine and it was divine! We will definitely be visiting again 😎

What an amazing centre for the community! We visited the cafe because I had supported a crowdfunder for Food Works (formerly The Real Junk Food Project) and we had a voucher to use. The lady running the kitchen was lovely, she introduced herself and was very kind to us, allowing us to choose two types of cake (both were lovely). The system is pay as you feel and the food would otherwise be wasted so it is a fantastic initiative. Also amazing that the cafe overlooks the library and is right next to a community leisure space too. If you are in the area you really owe it to yourself to check it out.

This cafe is part of the Real Junk Food Project, saving and using food that would otherwise be dumped and wasted. Using professional chefs, backed up by volunteer assistance, they provide breakfasts and lunches, all cooked freshly on the premises. Coffee, tea and cakes are always available. The cafe has a Pay as You Feel system, and all payments go directly into running the project and saving more food from being wasted. I have been there on numerous occasions and had delicious meals, served by friendly volunteers in a nice bright cafe inside the library at Upperthorpe, part of the Zest Centre. Highly recommend it, very family friendly. Disabled access via ramp, and disabled loo facilities close by.

Check your bill . Added loads of drinks on my bill and were then rude an u apologetic when I brought this to their attention . Even when I brought it to their attention they did not refund me properly and walked off with my receipt and did not give me a new updated one.

Visited for afternoon tea for my birthday, gorgeous as usual :) Friendly efficient staff, the food was wonderful, so full had to take the cake home. Also picked up a birthday cake I had ordered for my son's birthday and that was amazing, thank you very much.
