Very friendly staff and best coffee on the street

Just popped in for some food. We ordered 2 hot beef sandwiches. They where absolutely delicious. Friendly staff. Thank you all.

Certainly has a 1950’s Diner vibe which is great and the place is clean and well maintained. CASH ONLY so after I’d walked down the street to Lloyds Bank ATM I went for the big breakfast. Good food, good friendly service, and a good atmosphere.

My wife and I go to Citrones almost every time that we go shopping in Chester le Street. Sometimes,we have a proper meal, but, this time it was just for a drink and a snack. The staff are very friendly. The place (as usual) was spotless. We even grabbed a couple of fruit scones with jam and cream on for when we got home.

Great 1st visit to beautiful Chester le Street. Googled local cafes and found this little beauty. Loved the layout food was cooked excellently and was value for money. Great strong cuppa 👍

Called in for a quick coffee and a slice of fruit cake. I asked for an Americano with cold milk separate, which is exactly what I got. 😋 The coffee was excellent, as was the fruit cake, which I think was a Dundee cake. The service was great and the atmos relaxed. We will make this our regular coffee stop when visiting Chester le Street.

Amazing breakfast, clean and welcome environment. The lady that served us was so lovely, she cared about the food that comes out of her kitchen and you could taste it. The place is like going back in time in the best way possible. We just felt like home. A must visit place. Their menu have sweet and savory options.

Asked for full English... It came had no mushrooms, black pudding or hash browns ... £8.40 for half a breakfast

Lovely place loads of choice and very clean

Very friendly staff with a great selection of hot food and cakes. Thier milky coffee is the hottest in town! Toasted teacakes are a favourite of ours and to finish off the ice cream is the best! Plenty of seating available and tables always cleared away quickly. 👍

Service is good unfortunately food wasn't as nice as my last visit seems as though they are using cheaper products, mash potatoes weren't proper potatoes veg frozen products unfortunately its a sign of the times with the costs of living

Coffee ☕ was fantastic, food was ok , sausages could do with a better meat content for the price , service was fast getting a seat was easy without a wait , would use again

Nice cafe. Doesn't look as big from the outside but a lot of American style booth seating in the back. Nice food and drinks at great prices. Even impressed my daughter which is no mean feat!

There isn't enough words to describe citrones. One of a kind and the only pace to make a strong latte that doesn't break the bank. Staff are amazing and always give you a little biscuit with any coffee (even when you opt for a takeaway!)

I go to citrones for the coffee the coffee is lovely I could sit all day and drink their coffee the only thing I don't like about citrones is there is no toilet

Great stopped here for a lovely brekkie on trip back from Northumberland. Great service and lovely food proper breakfast. Cash only . Also had a piece of sly cake delicious

Popped in for a cooler in the heat. My partner and I were made to feel very welcome, and respected. Their milkshakes and ice creams are out of this world. Also the retro booths are so cool too This IS the place to go!!

Just called for a drink not expecting much and yet getting one of the nicest cups of coffee I've had for a long time from high street cafe. The person who served me was polite, easygoing and made sure that I got exactly what I had asked for. Hopefully if I pass this way again when restrictions are lifted I'll get chance to call in

Good little cafe with reasonable prices, I had a beef dip with chips and it was great to see it was proper beef and not sliced in the sandwich. I would definitely recommend this place.

Still a popular venue. I remember it from the 1960's with its Juke Box. Step inside love!

The atmosphere of this family run cafe is very warm. We stopped for a short snack before the bus was due, and the friendly staff were very welcoming and made us feel at home. We'll be going again whenever we're in the area.

Been coming here years used to love it but lately the food has been very poor and is the very cheapest of quality and they can't even cook chips still hard in the middle the gravy is still lumpy and cheap was absaloutely disappointed and I won't be going back

Small cafe that does a good selection of food and drinks. Pleasant staff. Reasonably priced with a drinks loyalty card that gets you a free cuppa after every 10 you buy. Good portion sizes on meals such as mince and dumplings, all day breakfast, hot beef sandwich, omelettes, to name a few.

was not pleased with the visit today at all first time i evrr been in not even from chester le street, was displeased with the price and quality of the food i was expecting nice home made chips after paying 2.90 and recieved frozen chips also had a pie witch was not the best. verry over priced for the quality of thr food service and staff were okay but quality of the food was not. eneded up me and my friend leaving most of our food

Love this little café, I go all the time! The food is brilliant and a great price, the staff are very friendly, and there is a huge variety of delicious food! Also, if you just fancy a cold treat, they do Ice creams and milkshakes! Would thoroughly recommend!
