Restaurant Review - October 16, 2024 During our holiday from Glasgow, we stumbled upon this charming little Mexican spot, and what an incredible find it was! The atmosphere instantly transported us to the vibrant streets of Mexico. With its cosy and welcoming decor, it felt like we were dining al fresco, even though we were inside. The food was absolutely top-notch. Everything tasted fresh, and the flavors were authentic and bold. Portion sizes were perfect—not too much, not too little—and every bite was packed with deliciousness. We especially loved the halloumi fries, which were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and the fajitas, which were bursting with flavor. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made sure we had a great experience from start to finish. Overall, this restaurant exceeded our expectations in every way. If you’re in the area, it’s a must-visit. Highly recommend! 10/10.

What a great place. From the moment you walked in, to when you left it was AMAZING. There was so much option, and everything looked so good. They have a great kids menu as well. The waiters are really nice, and attentive to what ever you need. There was also kids eat free on Wednesday and Thursday which ment we got a meal free! The only problem was I couldn’t finish my food! Amazing prices, and if anything they were loosing money! I would 100% recommend!

Expected more. The setting is great but they need to plan the seating better. There were 2 large groups of women one after the other who they chose to sit right at the front of the restaurant. They were so loud and drunk that it spoilt not only our experience but given the faces of the other diners, it spoilt theirs too. We couldn’t hear ourselves think and conversation was difficult. There’s room at the back where they could sit groups like this. The food wasn’t anything special. My quesadillas were packed out with onion and barely any meat. The portions are small too. My fellow diners described their dishes as OK. With so much choice, they need to up their game. Don’t think I’ll be going again in a hurry.

Too much tomato based. Had visited before, but it was not as great as before. Just average this time

It's OK. Food was nothing special a little disappointing after my previous visits. Even in todays financial climate I feel a little overpriced. Good look for the future but I won't be returning.

Just go. Fabulous. Huge portions, lovely staff, lovely atmosphere and great value. Highly recommend. Very reasonably priced.

Had a wonderful meal at Cinco's last night. I've travelled a lot and love Mexican food. This was amongst the best, if not the best, I have tasted. Friendly service and a great atmosphere.

Fast friendly service with really good food in great portions

Visited on a Thursday night 8 of us. Service was poor and slow. We were sat down 15-20 minutes before someone came over and asked for our drinks order. A long wait before starters came which were OK nothing more. Then an even longer wait before mains arrived; had to ask young lad serving for another round of drinks twice. 7 meals arrived they had forgotten about the 8th but they took it off the bill which was fine. Food was nice just too much on each plate they must waste a lot every night. Fajita’s barely had any meat on them was mainly just peppers and onion. Would hate to visit when it’s full the service was so slow.

Visited Cinco's in Grantham today, 26th July 2024 for Lunch and it was superb. Had a range of meals, all really tasty, but the Hummus and Brisket Beef Tapas were brilliant! Also had a range to drinks too, naturally and again all really good quality and especially the cocktails. Brilliant

Really yummy food. They had sold out if all three desserts I wanted so I didn't bother having one. It was really loud in there too but I didn't mind.

We turned up here as a last minute change of plans. Staff was excellent at finding us a table and making sure we had everything we needed. We went with our five month old in her pram and had no issues. Great food and well worth the price.

Really enjoyed the food which I ordered. There were a few types of food which was off the menu the day we went. Service was very good with cheerful helpful staff. Went mid week, so it was quiet, so the atmosphere was a little flat.

We booked for a weds evening 7.30 ,3 people.A young man shows us to our table, there was a table of 6 ladies behind us, and about 3 other tables with people sat. He brought us menus over to look at, we decided what we wanted to order, but no drinks menu. We sat for around 25 mins with no service, the young man then went to the table of ladies behind us, he was apologetic that they were having problems with the chef, (which had walked through restaurant and up the road twice, since we had been there) and that they were sorting their food. The lady then told us, they were first in, 6.30 and although ordered hadn’t had anything to eat! It was now 8pm. We had waited 30 mins without even a drink and looking at the people also sat at tables with no drinks or food at 8pm decided to go elsewhere! On vacating the restaurant, the 6 ladies also decided to leave as they’d waited 1.5 hours! No idea what was happening, as we ate further up the road, but noticed the chef walking up and down breck rd. But seemed kids were left as front of house, and people were just sat waiting! If there’s a problem with the kitchen customers should be informed on arrival, not left waiting. Plenty of other places to eat in n poulton with good service!! We wouldn’t bother going back after this experience.

Nice venue ,staff are very friendly Food was spot on. Highly recommended if you want some Mexican good food.

Been to Cincos a few times and always had great service and great food. Have sombreros available in all different colours for those customers wanting to wear one

Burrito was forgotten off order, I was told I could get a refund or get another one out to me, food was good though

Absolutely amazing from start to finish my partner had the platter and I had the fajitas cocktails were very nice and refreshing and the desserts were also amazing great staff and beautiful venue will definitely visit again thank you

We had to take a 17:30 hrs. booking as it was the only time available for our party of six. We arrived at the venue at 17:25, but we couldn't gain access, so had to wait outside on the pavement with several other diners: not a great welcome... If you take bookings for 17:30, you make sure you're ready for your diners: it ain't rocket science, guys..! On being seated we were asked if drinks were required: obviously yes, so asking for beers we were then told they had no cold beer available so we had to wait for some hastily cooled, semi-warm beer. We clocked a member of staff nipping over to another bar across the road & returning with a bucket of ice: total chaos & crap service!! The menu has improved greatly since our last dining experience here which was a real plus. I reckon if you pitch up a little later in the evening when they've had time to wake their ass up, do a little prep, & remember that people might return if you're ready to welcome them...

Food was good but the quantity for the amount the platter cost wasn't good as it wasn't a lot of food for £16. The churros could of been done for abit longer other than that it was good.

We usually really enjoy it here but we're not as impressed this time. No free nachos anymore, sharing nachos with the tiniest amount of salsa and a long wait of 1 hour between arrival and food. The chilli consisted of little more than beans so was glad I hadn't ordered this one. Was impressed that the wine prices are reasonable though.

Really strange experience when my husband and little sister went here, nobody was in the restauraunt and the waitress possibly owner seemed really off , asked if we could sit by the window as it was empty and very dark lit and she replied "its dirty but you can" whilst rolling her eyes and gave me a dirty look, she didn't clean the table and just brought us menus to which was dirty,tatty and scribbled on , we decided we was going to stay despite the attitude and weird vibe as the reviews seemed good and it was getting late. When we went to order she firstly was going to take our drink order and I asked for a corona to which she said "have You got ID" (which ofcourse theres no problem with) I replied 'no' and was taken aback as I'm almost 30 and she looked at me and said 'not my problem' repeatedly with a sloppy approach. We then took another look at the menu and she just walked off mid order. We decided to get up and leave as throughout our time there the experience was awful and her attitude was the worst we have ever experienced in any establishment. She was rude,and doesn't know how to approach people. Its difficult to put into words how it was but we will not reccomend or return here.it was a scruffy looking establishment and so we can only think that she is the way she is due to embarrassment.never have we been treat that way. When we left she came out after us and then said to another establishment "if they come in don't serve them" which is very odd and poor form really as we was respectful throughout. We found this very strange and she treated us like utter rubbish and with dis-respect. Appauling also how she could act that way since we was her only customers and we had my young sister with us. We usually have pleasant experiences when we go out for food and never come across such behaviour. Poor customer service from the moment we walked in and could do with a clean ideally. Hopefully the food is of better taste than the staff and decor.

The waitress in there needs a lesson on how to talk to people, she was rude, inpatient and full of attitude, she asked for ID for my wife which in itself is fine but when we tried to explain she is 26 years old she just walked off mid food order so we decided to leave, then she proceeded to walk across the road to tell the other food place that if we where to go in there then they don’t serve us what an horrible establishment and horrible person

We went for a meal (12 of us) for my great nieces 18th birthday. The staff were lovely, nothing was too much trouble. The restaurant was full but the service was prompt. The food was great, between us we had enchiladas, tacos, burritos, nachos, quesadillas and fajitas and everyone said that their food was lovely and it was excellent value. If I didn't live a 3 hour drive away I would be a regular!

I have visited many times and every time I do it is outstanding, the staff are extremely friendly and helpful, the food and drinks are out of this world and the atmosphere is lovely, I would highly recommend visiting.

We had our daughter’s 18th birthday meal here! Couldn’t have asked for better service! Nothing was too much trouble. They catered for 11 of us with no issues. Good and service was amazing. Would definitely recommend 🎂🍾🥂

Absolutely gem of a place.. The food and service are excellent. The drink I had was a beer bottle upside down in a large glass (Margarita beer cocktail) was so refreshing and tasted lovely. This is my 2nd visit here and both times was really good.. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back again when I'm up that way again..

This place is bangin good service great atmosphere foot really tasty definitely be goin again when we stay at windy hourbour.if I had any complaints I'd say portion could be abit bigger but had a face melting night it's a great spot

Came here for a works night out with 8 of us on a Thursday evening. Place was a little cramped, was very busy & was understaffed, but we enjoyed our night. Food took longer than expected but when it came it was well presented & very nice. The cocktails on offer were brilliant but unfortunately as they were understaffed, only one person could make them which an age as all tables were ordering. Would definitely come here again in the future though

Great food , great atmosphere but feel rushed to leave as it’s a small place. We had half a bottle of wine left and a member of staff told us she needed the table and didn’t offer us anywhere else to sit to finish our drinks.

I went with a friend and we sat outside in the courtyard as it was a lovely evening. You can't go to a Mexican restaurant and not have Desperados beer so we had a nice cold one then we ordered the chilli beef chimichanga. It was delicious 😋 We were too full for dessert but enjoyed a nice coffee. The atmosphere was nice and relaxed and the waiter did a good job. All in all a very enjoyable evening.

Really disappointed…shocking service, waiting 40 minutes for starters then no cutlery to eat it…30 mins for main, no cutlery, ordered drinks didn’t come, then £56 bill. Going for a takeaway

If you are looking for an authentic Mexican restaurant look no further. If you are sitting outside and it gets a bit chilly they give you a poncho to keep you warm and if you are inside you get a sombrero and a moustache to wear. Sounds a bit bonkers but just adds to the night..

This is one of those places that you're not sure of at first but once you've been that first time, it's your first choice in town! A really cute, very authentic seeming restaurant (tacky tourist sombrero hats aside), this place serves great selection of Mexican fast food with generous portions and helpful, friendly & attentive staff. Understandably it gets very busy at times so bear that in mind if you're after a quiet meal.

Couldn't fault this place whatsoever. The staff were really attentive throughout, the atmosphere was really nice, it all looked authentic and the food was born plentiful and tasted fantastic.

It’s really not that great! For the price the food is not Worth it and it’s understaffed and your left waiting for ages and not particular good service. Although, an exception is to The young waiter who was very polite.

The delivery food is up to restaurant standards. The quality is exceptional, although it is also priced at the premium end, we still think it was worth it. Highly recommend.

Food was tasty but did NOT like the receipt under it. Had a bite with the paper in (unintentionally) which spoiled the meal in my opinion.

Busy which impacted upon service. Weight watcher sized portions on three of the mains. Maybe just unlucky this time🤔.

The food was really good and despite worries that it would be fairly small, it was properly hearty food that hit the spot. Down side, the service was poor. Despite the restaurant running on bookings, there were only 2 staff on and they must have got their daily steps in whilst we were there. We waited a long while and drinks weren't cheap which made it pretty rough, but eventually the food came and all was good from then on. Might go again.

Great food just needs to speed up delivery

Took my partner for a meal out here after she’d mithered me for tacos for weeks! Took her to Cinco’s as my previous experiences here had been great. Arrived and the floor was oddly slippy - still the case when we left over an hour later, bear in mind it was not a wet night outside and we were sat in an area that does not have people walking past. Upon arrival we ordered drinks. No draft beers anymore. Only beers available are watery bottled beers, Corona types… eek! Very disappointing to start but hey ho, we move. 25 minutes later these arrived along with starters. Don’t get us wrong the food is pretty good, can’t deny that. However, the service was very poor and not up to the standard received on previous visits. When having our mains empty plates collected (again food pretty good, as expected) we asked for the bill which was brought and paid but with no personality, it seemed a very clinical exchange. I wasn’t even offered a receipt after paying and had to go out of my way to ask for one! After hyping Cinco’s up to my partner who had come all the way from Manchester we left feeling rather deflated and I looked a bit of a pillock as it came nowhere near the rave reviews I’d given based on previous visits.. we’ve had better service in fast ‘Mexican’ food joints back in Manchester recently. Change of ownership or change of staff, I don’t know, but it’s nowhere near the heights it was a couple of years ago.

This was for a family occasion and 1 st time of trying, only small restaurant but good atmosphere. Would go again for sure.

Bought myself and my daughter a takeaway from Cincos as we haven't eaten there for ages and I fancied something different.. We got it delivered and it came about half an hour earlier than I thought which I was happy about as I was hungry. I had the burrito, it was amazing and just what I fancied. Would definitely recommend. Won't be leaving it so long to eat from there next time!

Always fantastic when eating in, just as good when ordering!

Love the food, love the atmosphere. The server didn't get our order spot on but was enjoyable nonetheless. Only other comment I'd make is that with fajitas you pay extra for cheese, jalapenos etc but the amount you get of the cheese is pitiful! Don't let that put you off though as it's a great night out with great food.

We were prepared for the long wait for the food but it arrived so much quicker. The food was hot and very, very good. Will absolutely order from here again. Thank you

First and last time at Cinco's. The staff took every opportunity they had to get it wrong, and then some. Ordered two tap waters and got bottled water. This was changed but not removed from the final bill (for which there was no apology. Just removed and given a new bill without a word). Ordered a glass of wine and the waitress came back twice to ask me what it was I wanted. I'm not sure if it was her first day/what was going on but she seemed to have never heard of a pinot grigio. Eventually, a woman who I assume was the bar manager came over to ask for my ID. I showed it and she also asked my girlfriend. I told her she wasn't drinking and she said 'oh she's put it through as a bottle.' Great. Eventually got my glass of wine. Ordered sharing nachos and a burger, both to come as a main. Nachos came as a starter. I was so explicitly clear in wanting everything to come together as I could tell the waitress had no confidence and had already made a few mistakes. The waitress was very sweet but was clearly completely out of her depth processing a simple order. I can only assume she was a young relative of the bar managers as I didn't feel she wanted to be there and surely couldn't have been given a job for her waitressing skills. We ordered a side of pinto beans that never came. The nachos sat there for ages and when the waitress tried to clear them I told her that we wanted to hold on to them and that we were waiting for my main because we'd wanted the food to come together. The nachos were my girlfriend's meal. She seemed very confused by this and then came over again to see if we were finished with them and I explained again that we wanted to still have them on the table and that we were ready for my main to be brought out too... I'm not sure what was so hard to understand but she said ok and then just started avoiding our table out of embarrassment after this and we were left unattended with the nachos getting colder by the minute. Eventually, a waiter came over and I repeated this all to him. He went to the bar manager and said that we'd wanted them to come together. She rolled her eyes and sent him to the kitchen to get my main out. This clearly hadn't been communicated by the waitress despite the times we'd told her already. Nobody came over to apologise for the mistake. My food was nice but it was spicy and I couldn't finish it without more water. Unfortunately, the staff had given up on our table completely so I was never able to request more water, or the beans we ordered and never got. We went elsewhere for dessert. Really bad service. Shame.

Normally rave about the place but today wasn’t great. Staff member I assume manager had no people skills, everything asked was an effort and she was rude. Food was average, again not great at all. Steak was over cooked and chewy, tacos had no hard shells as ordered, Wouldn’t go out of my way to go back. Disappointed.

Great Mexican food, good atmosphere as well

We came here recommended by a air BnB post. The atmosphere is great and a lovely place. But the staff (not all) were not particularly friendly. We had to send back our jalapeno poppers as they were FROZEN in the middle! None of the staff apologised for it and seemed very dismissive of us. We struggled to get attention of any staff and multiple customers who arrived after us had their order taken before us. The food was okay. Overall wasn't a great experience and we were just quite keen to leave by the end.

Booked for my wife's birthday and was not disappointed. The food was absolutely fabulous, both in flavour and portion sizes. Staff were also very accommodating and helpful. We had a fantastic evening and will definitely be back.

We go to Cincos all the time and it was only this time the staff have been extremely rude and unreasonable. We booked in advance but were placed at the back away from everyone even though there were two tables available in the front of the restaurant for starters. It's much very in that part of the restaurant and wasn't a great start but it is what it is, we ordered two diet cokes and they tasted like carbonated water with the flavour of the limes in them. I took it back, and it was remade and I tasted it again when brought to me (this time out of a bottle) and it still tasted funny. My partner this time took it back and simply asked for a regular coke instead, but was greeted with 'well it's out a bottle it's the exact same' from the bartender, no simple apology given or a 'what could I get you instead?', instead just a ride attitude. The coke wasn't great but at this point I didn't want to go back and ask for even water. I'm a hospitality worker myself and my first reaction would be to apologise and offer an alternative, so I was a bit shocked at my partner receiving that treatment. Can't fault the food, it was great as always, but then throughout our 45 minute visit we were continually stared at and given looks up and down by the staff! I could only count one out of the 6/7 that were there that didn't. It was extremely uncomfortable for us. We asked for a dessert menu because we did enjoy the food and were left waiting for 10 minutes while the young lad spoke to the kitchen staff and the other waitresses, at what point we left and raised this with the manager on shift and were given 'right okay thanks for letting me know', not even a sorry.

Our family (2 kids) had travelled to the area from Scotland. We had a fantastic meal, good food and good service.

Food was delicious, service was excellent (well looked after by Emma and Reuben) for what was a large party of 11 people. Will definitely return

Food was OK, service was poor. Appreciate they had a big table of lads in, but no need to keep sweet talking them after they'd paid. All servers crowded round the bar chatting and ignoring tables.

Myself and my partner visited here a little while ago. I ordered beef burritos, they were okay. I've eaten them in authentic Mexican restaurants elsewhere and they have been better. My partner ordered a Mexican mixed grill dish, whilst he ate some of it, it was very over-facing. I tried some and all I could taste was the harsh uncooked Mexican spice mix, they use. I found it unpleasant. We would probably return but order different dishes. The atmosphere was plesant

Me and Georgia just arrived at Sarah's and lees bro in law with mum today and Sarah my sister rang up the restaurant for a table of 5 so we went tonight and we ordered drinks we ordered 2x cola with ice one with a lime and many cocktails they enjoyed and then we ordered the starters the starters are brilliant and we ordered Mains and they were delicious loved the decoration and the staff were polite and staff was nice we will come again

Food excellent, staff friendly and helpful. Only downside if large parties are in is it can get a little loud.

We’ve been to Cincos multiple times in the past and absolutely loved it. Unfortunately, its quality has significantly declined since our last visit. Our nachos included a half-hearted sprinkle of cheese, a spoonful of tomatoes, and a slice of brown avocado. Our mains were hardly better, with my husband stating that his plate was so hot he was certain his meal had just been microwaved. My quesadilla was soggy and the margarita was a pre-made overly sweetened mix. The staff were lovely and attentive, hence the 2 stars, but the food was severely lacking.

Not proper Mexican. Don’t know where to start. But I feel brits will still enjoy as they do the curries that are not properly made.

Over rated food and over priced . Marinated stead tuff as old boots . Pulled beef soft tortillas. Dripping in oil and juice. Starters chicken wrapped in tortilla fried chicken was dry . Rice was reheated and beans tasted out of a can . Very disappointed as it was recommended by my son . He also was disappointed. Wont be going bk or recommending

Great and friendly mexican restaurant with welcoming and attentive staff. Generous portion sizes left us completely satisfied by the excellent food. Tables for at least 30 people inside, and an exterior garden dining area. Good selection of wines, spirits, beers and cocktails. The strawberry mojito was fantastic! The menu was well laid out and offered a good variety of dishes, including several gluten free dishes or gluten free options of dishes. Reasonably priced - 3 courses and a couple of drinks each cost about £30 per person. This was my first visit, but won't be my last! Well done team.
