Chutney's in Barnet

Another fabulous meal from Chutneys, have never been disappointed.

Ordered the set menu. Food was pretty bland and main courses sparse in terms of chicken/lamb ordered. One to avoid!

I ordered a chicken bhuna and have been throwing up all day and suffering with food poisoning!!

We ate out here a few weeks ago and I had to write a review because it was brilliant. The guy working in the restaurant was so welcoming and nice. The food was delicious! Highly recommended!

Fantastic curry Friendly staff visited last year loved it that much we wanted to dine again while visiting from Scotland we were not disappointed many curry houses outside Scotland are not so good Chutney would give the UK curry capital a run for its money. We will definitely dine here again if in the area

if I could give zero stars... Disgusting food and disgusting service. NEVER ORDERING AGAIN. They gave us the wrong order and missed items we paid for. Deliveroo works with a code so there is no way it's the drivers' fault as the manager claimed it was when I phoned on 20/04/24 between 18:40 - 18:55. He was so rude and flippant and unwilling to help or acknowledge his mistake. His customer service was disgusting and he was argumentative with phrases like "don't you think.." like I need to be the one to investigate this and the sad face is he is the MANAGER. He insists he gave the right items but I had the pictures to prove it wasn't and we had to throw the incorrect items went in the bin. I usually order for one person who wanted one particular dish rom this restaurant but otherwise none of us want food from his place. It's not authentic food and just tastes like pig swill. He is also a liar and claimed Veg Curry is always provided when ordering biryani and we always order lamb biriyani and never received Veg Curry. The items are not packaged properly so everything is spilling everywhere as well.

Wonderful service and delicious food we had this Sunday evening. We had the whole restaurant to ourselves. After speaking to the owner Sunday is a very very quiet time. I would highly recommend this wonderful establishment. They do not have a drinks licence so if you want alcy, bring your own. Fish tikka as a starter was amazing. Everything else delicious.

Rubbish food with chewy chicken, runny sauces and very late delivery. Go to Yusha or Mehek instead!

The food is always great and staff friendly, areas for improvement would be the decor (minor as I think their primary business is delivery / takeaway) and the additional charge for delivery in my area but their food really is consistently good.

The food was good and the fish was very hot. It was very very hot for me I could not enjoy it as l asked them not to put hot pepper 🌶️ but they did.

This used to be the best take away in Barnet. Now it’s a big joke. They changed a chef I think. I ordered the same food I usually order from them and everything tasted differently! Food was tasteless, portions were smaller, overall waste of money!

Without a doubt the best curry in barnet been a customer for many years, hadn't had it in a while so i had the lamb chilli garlic 👌 was out of of this world. All other food bread, rice and onion bhaji was 10/10. Many thanks to the chef... And the KP!

Very poor service, previously quite good. This delivery had problems, l ordered mushroom bhaji which came as mushroom purée and the garlic was burnt, the onion bhaji was dense and had been re-heated in oil, delivered very oily the vegetables in the vegetable curry were soft as if they came out of a tin, and the Jaipuri curry also had the taste of burnt garlic and the chicken was so dense it needed to be cut with a knife. Probably the worst curry’s I’ve ever eaten. I’m not using them again, they really need to address the issues raised. I had to give a one star rating otherwise it wouldn’t post however it didn’t deserve even a one star rating.

Me and my partner Jason have been ordering from this place for many years. The last few times we have ordered they have either got the order completely wrong or have made things undercooked and we have still been loyal customers. Never ask for discounts or anything but today is the last straw they did my partner’s dish wrong and instead of bringing a new batch and take the wrong one they decided to get their delivery driver to pick up the wrong order first and then bring my partner an amended one which we are still waiting for. Obviously we want to eat together so I’m now waiting to eat mine. What they should’ve done is brought a new one and take the old wine back instead of making us for their mistake. This will be the last time!

I’ve been ordering from this restaurant on and off for 10 years as they are just around the corner. Previously it has been just OK and I’ve persevered as it’s convenient.However tonight my chicken tikka jalfrezi balti was more than terrible. Gloopy pre-made sauce with a kilo of onions to bulk it out. I’m not one just to leave a review so I called the restaurant and explained straight away. Of course they were apologetic but they should not be producing sub-standard food like this.

Been ordering from here for a few years and it’s one of the best curry houses. I don’t know what some of the people are on about with the bad reviews…. Maybe that dish they ordered wasn’t nice… can’t please everyone I guess

Decided to try this restaurant after receiving a recommendation from a friend, and I must say the flavours were absolutely brilliant! Ordered a collection of Tandoori prawn Starter, King Prawn Tikka Massala and a few sides and they all tasted 10/10 👏🏼 The restaurant hosts a good seating selection for dining in.. Customer service was wonderful 🌟 5* Would recommend based on overall experience, I'll definitely be back to dine in the restaurant at some point 👍🏼

Great chef, good portions and fast delivery. I’ve tried nearly a dozen alternative Indian Restaurants but my go to Tandoori is Chutney’s every time.

Been ordered takeaways for a few years now and they’ve never disappointed, food is always tasty!

Placed an order through UberEats, which was absolutely fine in terms of process and delivery was straight forward. The order that turned up was incorrect. My wife ordered a vegetable korma and we received a chicken korma but the resturant did rectify and send the right order 20 minutes later. The food was pretty tasteless if I'm honest and we really did not enjoy it. We often order from Anuraag but thought we would try another curry house but would not recommend this place.

If there was an option to leave no stars, I would. We ate in the restaurant and it was absolutely appalling from start to finish. We had to wait a considerable amount of time to be served, even though we were the only ones in the restaurant, as they prioritised take away orders. The food was inedible and dissatisfactory. The popadoms were stale, the food was dry, the chicken was tough and it didn’t taste like any of the dishes ordered. The rice, particularly egg fried rice, was disgusting. The Naan bread was not Naan bread, it was a loaf covered in butter. We complained to the waiter, as we couldn’t eat the food and their response was simply disgraceful. Upon complaining we were told “thanks for the compliment”. Following complaining further, the waiter thought it appropriate to stand and argue across the restaurant, in an aggressive manner, saying that they have never had complaints before and that they have good reviews. I felt leaving a review was the only way to express this, as raising the issue directly was met with a terrible response. Honestly, this is the worst Indian I have ever had and the worst customer service I have experienced. It was inedible, inadequate and I would discourage anyone who wanted to come to this restaurant.

We’ve just finished our second delivery this month and this one was even better than the first. Really delicious food - generous portions of meat in the curries and guys, seriously, the sweet corn bahji was 🔥. A+ from us.

Delicious food, good value and a friendly waiter. Definitely will be going there instead of our other local. Only thing I’d say to them is to be slightly more attentive to customers when they come in (we waited a little while to have our order taken).

Been getting food here when i lived in Barnet and now im back nothing has changed, still delivering the most delicious meals and good quality. I hope they continue with this and reap the rewards for their hard work (dont be like the rest when you get busy and popular cut quality for profit)

The food here is always perfect, I have been using chutneys for a few years, and speak to them due to having allergies. They are so friendly and make every accommodation for my allergy. Everything is seasoned and tasty. Best Indian I’ve had, and I’ve tried a few! Would highly recommend them. Lovely people lovely food and always arrives earlier than expected. ☺️

The food was delicious and I take my hat off to the chef but the service was poor. Had to ask for a plate. Had to ask for dessert menu after waiting for Ages There were no pleasentaries and it was not very friendly. A real shame as the food was 10/10

A complete waste of time and money. I ordered a take away from Just eat with them, after 2 hours of waiting they had no delivered so we called them up. They proceeded to tell my Girlfriend she was lying and they had already delivered the takeaway, and after much arguing they would send a driver to checkout the address (and not send the food?) assuming we were lieing and being aggressive over the phone claiming his delivery driver had _10 years of experience_ and hes never had a problem. After 15 minutes a man turns up at our door, says a word and then runs back to his van then produces our food. What a joke, never order from this company they are out to scam you by their shear incompetence.

This is our favourite local Indian restaurant and you can take your own alcohol, which keeps the bill down, and it means you will know what you wine will taste like (important for me). Favourite starter is prawn puri, spicy prawns on a fried pancake. The aubergine brinjal bhaji is one of my favourite side dishes, (fried soft aubergine slightly spicy, tarka daal, (a type of yellow lentil puree, lovely), and for main chicken tikka jalfrezi, fairly hot curry), with special fried rice. The restaurant is small, service always outstanding and very welcoming. The waiter will offer you advice re the foods and in case you forget to take wine or beers there is an off licence across the road

That was a really delicious dinner. I had lamb tikka biryani and it was soft and moist amd lightly spiced I loved it. It came with a curry of vegetables which was lightly spiced also which tasted great but looked very oily. Also can you please put less in the foil box please as it spilled everywhere. I had onion bhaji and it came generously with 4 pieces and they tasted nice too but can you pat them down with a kitchen tissue to reduce the oil please? Also the poppadoms tasted as good as they get including the mango chutney. Thank you for a lovely meal. I will be ordering again in the future. Also it came 10 minutes faster than expected 55m delivery time which was great. Also the live chat online was very useful on their website. Very easy to pay.

Awful. Probably the worst takeaway of any kind that i have had in a long time. I decided to try them because they did quite a few vegetarian options but every single thing we tried, whether meat or vege was dreadful. The sag was inedible. Almost all of it has gone immediately in the bin, except the poppodums and dips. Without being too harsh, someone honestly needs to take the chef to a decent Indian restaurant and perhaps he could learn from this i.e. how the food is meant to taste not of salt and grease.

Spoke to Amin who is the proprietor - we wanted our order delivered at 7, phoned at 5.53 told it would take an hour, perfect. It arrived at 6.20. Weird - can send it back & have it delivered again at 7. An order of £43? Really? Good food but when we complained, was told we could have re delivered your order to another customer!!!
