Lovely breakfast, great staff couldn’t have wished for a better service. Small cafe but really clean. Will definitely keep going back.

Only 16 seats inside so lucky to get one. Not a fan of almost every dish being given a trendy name and the menu holders take up too much table space and the writing is too small, poor colour choice and hard to navigate in the silly perspex holders. Food was fabulous and the service very attentive and friendly.

Was in the area for work one day, and was in need of some on the go lunch, and decided to pop in to Christine's Cafe, as I juts happened to be passing by and was able to park right outside. Nice little cafe, and the usual stuff on the menu, so ordered a cheese roll and a roll with sausage and scone to go. Freshly prepared in no time, and for 1pm on a Saturday it was very busy, and not being the biggest of places, you find that you will probably have to wait outside, as it does not take many people to feel rather cramped. Excellent prices and food is really tasty, so will most certainly be back again in future when in the area again.

Staff are just so polite and helpful and give nothing but great service during your visit! Breakfast is absolutely one of the best I've ordered in east end - Dennistoun! Been to many places in this area and I simply couldn't recommend anywhere but here if I ever fancy a roll or take my mother for some tea / biscuits and breakfast off course it will be here again and again... Thank you Christine & Gus!

Anytime I’m up in this area of Glasgow I always try and stop there. The foods always lovely no reheated breakfasts there all cooked fresh. Christine and Gus always helpful service is great so are their prices hard to see how they can do it. Good selection of foods and drinks plenty of tea and coffee top ups. Well worse a visit.

I can only say good things about this cafe, always spotless. Food for money hard to beat. Full Scottish breakfast inc Stornaway black pudding. The soup is as good as you’ll taste anywhere and I mean anywhere. I spend a lot of time traveling, and over the years I don’t think I’ve had better soup anywhere. Great service no reheated food all cooked fresh in front of you. Five stars. Unfortunately dropped my phone a cameras not working, but place is spotless. You won’t be disappointed.

I have frequented this cafe for years now and although it's 15 minute drive for me I don't mind the travel as the food and service is 10/10 everytime. A family run business who always makes you feel welcome. Cheers 😊

Currently sitting in whilst waiting for my car that’s in the local garage. It’s clean and tidy which I always like. The service is excellent. I’m a bit of a pest about my tea and it was given to me just as I asked. I had a bacon butty and a cuppa thoroughly enjoyed them both. I’m now eyeing the cakes. I’ll def be back again an highly recommend it.

I live across from Christine's and she's sorted me out with some 10/10 rolls in my life. The cakes are also brilliant, as well as the pots of pasta that they sell to take away. Always friendly and always great.

I Pop by when I’ve got reason to be in the area but it’s somewhere I’d go regularly if I were a local resident. Great attentive staff and warm welcome guaranteed. Place is cozy but perfect for what it is. Definitely recommend for passerby’s and locals should use more to promote local traditional cafes.

We moved to southside just over a year ago and Toro has been such a find! The loveliest staff, the best coffee and the cakes, pastries and bread are wonderful. A regular Sunday morning haunt for us, just brilliant!

May I begin by saying I am not an expert but a keen amateur. I have a Rancilio Sylvia classic and Rancilio Rocky Grinder and my own belief is that the type of been you need corresponds to your Grinder and setting. May I also say these coffee beans are all excellent, but I have found different results with each of them. With Papercup I have serious channelling I believe there is much more moisture in the bean andto be honest didn’t get a decent pull on any shots. Tin donkey was a great tasting coffee, but again I had to adjust my grind setting which is at zero on the rocky; despite numerous attempts at both paper cup and tindonkey I failed miserably. however I have 100% success with DearGreen on any of their beans. I don’t think there is much difference in the quality of these beans- I think it comes down to user error or capacity to pull good shots. I have learned to clean out my Grindr courtesy of Gail from Seattle coffee ha ha and I’ve owned this machine for roughly 10 years. DearGreen coffee works for me I hope you find this helpful
