Busy with great service and delicious good value food.

Paella was cold, oily and full of sweetcorn. Other food arrived burnt on the ends but under cooked in the middle. Worst family meal in years. Not returning

Love the food here, fabulous flavours in abundance, probably a good thing I don't live near as it could get costly. Staff were exemplary on our latest visit and service prompt and efficient. Par excellence! Very little meat on the ribs on our latest trip.

Should I visit this place? Interesting interior, but cool. Try Mexican cuisine - yes, but here it is adapted to British tastes)) The coconut margarita really turned out to be tasty, but the steak... Thickness, medium-rare, taste - everything was missing!

Went for a meal last night and had a lovely meal. We had the nachos with chicken and chorizo to share to start with. Wow great portion size and so tasty, could have eaten this purely as a main course! For main I had the Texan burger which was huge and a portion of onion rings (not needed really but like them with a burger!) Mrs had a pork chimichanga. Both mains were very tasty and the burger nearly beat me. For desert we shared (I say shared I had the smallest piece) churros with the caramel sauce! Can recommend the flaming zombie cocktail which comes with a surprise when delivered, took us several attempts to blow out the flame let’s say! Will be back again!!

Extremely disappointed in my visit here. Have loved it in the past but this visit was awful!!! Monday night and it was not busy but we had to wait ages for everything!!! I even had to collect some drinks from the bar myself as I saw them sat there for 10 minutes. I also thought the food was substandard and not as good as it has been!!! Will not be going again for a while.

We arrived for our 7pm booking and waited about 40 minutes for our starters. In this time we had finished our drinks and were not offered more. We finished our starters and had to wait another 30-40mins for our mains to come out. During this time our starter plates hadn’t been cleared, bear in mind our server had looked at our table 3 times and noticed our empty plates. Our mains came out and the empty plates were STILL on the table and we had to ask for them to be cleared. We also asked for more drinks which did not come out until we had finished our food. Absolutely shocking service, will not be a returning. The food was lovely however front of house staff were abysmal.

Went here today for lunch for a birthday treat. The restaurant was absolutely freezing 🥶 my mum couldn't enjoy herself because it was that cold, when asked about heating we were told the heater is supposed to be on but the middle vents don't work. Waitress was nice but not really available if we needed something felt like we had to try catch her attention as she walked by to serve other tables. The food was lovely & menu good value but the burger bun on the hallumi wasn't toasted so it fell apart and had to use knife and fork to eat burger. Didn't acknowledge birthday at all. Just felt like didn't really care about the customers, such a shame as we had a birthday lunch here last year and it was fantastic. Really disappointing visit today!

Fabulous meal , very friendly service . I had tacos with pulled pork and chips I would highly recommend. The waitress with the long blond hair way excellent

Booked table for 2 Adults. Arrived at 1615 table booked for 1630 shown to table 37. Drinks ordered and delivered quickly, meal ordered at the same time loaded Nachos took 40 mins to arrive then another 30 mins after for the main courses. At best it was expensive luke warm food, no meat on ribs, southern fired chicken soggy, we had to ask for main course. Asked for bill and paid cash, the young girl asked if i wanted the change, to right I do, she went away with money, another waitress came back with change. Not a great experience even with the place being 3rd full. And very expensive.

All round great night out for couples and groups of friends. Busy Saturday night but service and atmosphere was great. Loved the selection of food and staff were very accommodating.

Went here for a graduation meal. I had a lovely time and the staff were lovely. The food was amazing and the atmosphere welcoming and relaxing. I would definitely go again!

As much as the food was amazing, the service wasn't to the same standard. We had to wait an hour for our food and, whe we were there, a few people walked out because they had to wait so long and the servers had quite a few complaints from others

First time we been, food and waiting staff were good. But waiting for food was a very long and painful. 2 hrs and 45 minutes for 3 courses. Kinda on the bench whether to return or not.

Amazing service & great Mexican Food!

The first and last time I visited this place food serving horrible and very overpriced absolutny not worth it.food was almost cold, long waiting time too, Looks cool on the outside otherwise it’s loud and noisy bathroom was flooded I guess someone new used mop for the first time no sign it’s wet so a child or elderly person could hurt themselves.

Didn't have my 1st or 2nd choice. Otherwise great food.

Staff support allergies using iPad with detailed information. Very limited options for dessert if need combination of gluten free plus other allergy such as egg. Staff very helpful and gluten free oat milk for coffee was a welcome bonus

Food was awful... Ordered 2 enchiladas, and a not so sizzling fajita. The enchiladas were burnt to a crisp..thus tortilla became a Nacho. The Fajita was cold and not sizzling, and packed with a sack of onions, no real food to be found. Probably won't be dining there again in a hurry 😡😡

Unfortunately the branch in Peterbourugh is closed so we went all the way to Leicester as it was our favorite restaurant. Starters were disappointing. We have ordered cranberry cheese founde and the „bread” was absolutly awful. I guess it is cheep, white baguete that was at least two days old, refreshed on the grill… very bad experience…. And Blue chips with 3 dips - chips were dry not chrispy. Also refreshed with oil in some kind of oven? Mains were much better but still it is way too far from what was served in Peterbough. Don’t think i will come back again.

Now Nottingham and Derby have shut there's this is the nearest one to derby.Lovely food,I had the ultimate fajita and wife had beef burrito, everything was cooked really nice,had mini churros for dessert and wife had popcorn toffee pudding,both were excellent. Really nice staff and relatively quiet.

We have been here a few times and always received excellent service. The staff really make an effort with us. I love rum based cocktails, and the lady we had as our host/waitress recommend an excellent cocktail. We did have items missing in our meal but this was swiftly resolved. We loved the dessert! I was impressed with the service and left tip at the end.

Popped in here with a large table of 16 for a works meal. We arrived and were seated very quickly. Staff were nice and friendly. Our orders were taken quickly. Menu has been reduced since I was last there although the new menu still offers some good options. Drink selection at the bar is good and they do have cocktails. When the food arrived it all came at once and the whole table was able to eat together. Food was very tasty and we had no issues what so ever. Overall a good positive experience Which everyone enjoyed

Arrived at 19:40 on a Saturday with no booking. Told half hour wait for a table which seems pretty standard for just turning up on a Saturday night. Had us seated approximately 20:05. Host took us to our table, was lovely and explained the allergens advice to my partner. Waitress assigned to our table had absolutely no confidence, was very quiet and hardly able to hear her. Food order taken at 20:15, at 20:45 no food, waitress explains there had been a backlog in the kitchen and our food would be out shortly. Another half hour passed and we get told an error in the kitchen caused our order to get missed and our food would be another 10 minutes or so. Food arrived at approximately 21:35 we struggled to eat as we were so far past hungry. Partner nearly ended up being sick in the toilets due to waiting for food for so long. Spoke to a manager who seemed nice but somewhat dismissive, trying to shift the blame onto us for not communicating our problems sooner. Bill did get completely comped off so we did end up dining for free.

Was stood at the door for at least 5 minutes before we were greeted and then Was sat at our table for half an hour and no one came and asked for a drink order,food order or to even tell us they were busy. Very disappointed and will not be coming back ever!

Popped in for dinner on Saturday evening while we were in the area. The food was great. The atmosphere was very good - the place was busy, but not packed, and there was a good buzz. The service was also very good - quick, accurate and relaxed. Our server (I didn’t catch her name unfortunately) was very attentive, gave us plenty of time to order and was very pleasant.

Food was well cooked and presented, very nice. Service was good, friendly staff. But the whole place seemed very dull. Decor and ambience were lacking. And also found tables were not that clean found to be sticky. But overall great place.

Extremely dissapointed, after being a loyal customer to chiquitos for over 5 years I came tonight for a treat, when we walked in we were waiting for 10 minutes before even being seated or acknowledged, we where then sat and waited for half an hour no one took a drinks order or yet alone a food order, Not one staff member apologised for the wait or said thell be over soon, got up and left not satisfied. Will not be returning ever again !!

Great staff, helpful and pleasant. Fast service on the drinks and food, food was presented nicely and the taste was " good " it just needed a little something else to help bring the flavours out.

Me and my husband went in for a meal, the next morning I vomited, that was the only thing I had eaten that day

Although this beautifully decorated restaurant was empty when we arrived (14:30 And we missed happy hour on cocktails!! 5-7). My friend and I loved the ambience of this place. Help yourself to a Mexican hat on arrival! (£2 to take home). We had the starter to share and 2 sides, it was amazing 😍 it filled us up for sure. We wanted an authentic Mexican and that's what we got! Friendly service and great cocktails to boot. AVG £30 each. Definitely going again!

Came here as never been and it was great food, good service. Food portions were a bit big so couldn’t finish it all as we also had starters but overall really tasty will come again.

Great food... the atmosphere (when I visited was very boring) Service was okay... nothing to be impressed at.

Was surprisingly busy for a weekday. Staff managed this well and ensured we had everything we needed. Vegetarian fajita was good and there was a lot choice. Great revamp on the menu. We had to remind the team about our second drinks ordered, but it was eventually sorted. Really good atmosphere. Would come here again.

Great location, lots of tables, descent menu options including plenty of vegetarian choices. Friendly staff and excellent service. We visited to celebrate my wife’s birthday and the Birthday brownie was a nice surprise at the end.

Food was average. Staff were standing around talking and was hard to get their attention when I needed to notify them my fries were cold.

Excellent service, food consistently good. Can be slow during peak times, so allow extra time if your visiting cinema afterwards. Staff are great and good value.

If you like sweet cocktails, I would recomend the hummingbird. Rum based banana drink.

We tried to book a table on Facebook explaining we had wanted to use groupon vouchers with no response so then I rang to be told they were fully booked which we thought was unusual for a Thursday, so my partner walked in on the off chance without knowing my enquiry and was told they had a table then when she told him she was using groupon vouchers his attitude was we only get 10% for groupon and we priorities fully paying customers, this is basically saying we are second class customers but he still took the booking so once my partner told me I rang him to cancel as I felt my business was not valued, if your going to use Groupon as a way of attracting customers you treat them as you would fully paid customers and not lie about not having tables.

Food was amazing. I would recommend the '10 Churros' as an excellent desert. Kieran was especially helpful.

Booked here for my anniversary! Was waiting over an hour for my food and when I asked where it was they’d forgotten about my order, poor service won’t be coming back!

Came here spare of the moment before going to the pictures nearby and managed to get a table. Food was very nice and had one of my favourite meals in which was a bonus. Food came out quick and staff were nice.

We are regular at Chiquttos leicester with atleast one visit a month if not more . We have always had excellent service always . This time shockingly it was not at all upto the mark . The person serving us looked bored , detached , did not follow the instructions with regard to food order . As it took so long for food to be delivered and due to our previous good experiences , we did did not create a fuss . We ordered for hot sauce . This always used to be brought separately but when we reminded the person who served us about this , she just pointed at the Jalapeno bottle at the table . Then there were no cutlery and napkins ( basic things ) . When this was pointed out she said it was on the table but I had to literally show her the empty space to physically show her that it was not there ! We travel quite a bit to this Chiquitto as the nearest one to us is in Dudley . The Walsall one sadly closed . The management should be aware that it is a customers market . The restaurant was slightly busier than normal saturday evening but many of the tables were empty . This was a disappointment and we did not even wait to have desserts !

A group of us visited here and had a great time plus received good service. The food was excellent as my photos will show, so I recommend a visit here if in the area.

Went for meal out as got a voucher to use, absolutely loved the starter and mains . Lovely food and service was very good , nice seeing restaurants fairly busy and not compromising and quality and service.

I recently dined at Chiquito Restaurant and I would like to provide feedback on my experience. I must express my disappointment with the fajitas that I ordered, as they did not meet my expectations in terms of taste and quality. The chicken served was simply reheated and had an unpleasant, bitter flavor due to being completely burned. It appeared that the restaurant had prepared a large quantity of grilled chicken in the morning, and throughout the day, they reheated the burned portions to cut costs. This approach, unfortunately, resulted in a noticeable decline in the freshness and overall quality of the food. As a result, I am left with a sense of complete dissatisfaction, especially considering that the food was not freshly prepared. It is disheartening to have such an experience, particularly because I used to hold a great appreciation for the food served at Chiquito Restaurant. However, my recent encounters have significantly diminished my previous enthusiasm. When I voiced my concerns about the food, the staff offered to replace the chicken with a fresh serving. Regrettably, the new portion arrived in the same burned and unappetizing state. It seemed that the issue stemmed from a dirty grill grate coupled with the use of old, reheated chicken. I politely declined to finish the dish, thanking the staff for their attempt to resolve the situation. To their credit, the manager approached me and extended a sincere apology for the inconvenience caused. I appreciate the manager's kind gesture and willingness to address the matter. In light of my experience, I would strongly recommend thoroughly inspecting your food before beginning your meal. This extra precaution can help prevent any potential disappointment or dissatisfaction.

Group of us met for drinks & meal Nice interior About 70% full Drinks took totally ages Ages before we could order food Food then took ages Out of 7 people one dish was cold another dish was wrong Took ages to correct When we eventually got the bill they had overcharged by duplicating the dishes that were wrong eg charged for 2 dishes when it was just one adding about £30 to the bill This was corrected after we pointed it out A few things going in here If your a group they want to keep you there as long as possible in hope you keep ordering alcohol , then hoping you’ve spent loads of money on their over priced drinks they’ll also attempt to over charge you on the food as you’ll be slightly to intoxicated to notice In conclusion a scam outfit that should be avoided at all costs Total shame as Leicester really does need some decent Mexican food outlets

Friendly and attentive staff. Food always spot on.

I came to the restaurant with 5 other friends for a celebratory meal, and I was utterly disappointed at our service. Aneta (I believe her name was) was rude to us and even rolled her eyes at us when we would order certain items! She seemed to talk down at certain members of staff and in general was not a pleasant character. It is so sad to see staff act like this.

Came for food with my partner on a Saturday night, it was absolutely amazing! So much flavour… A massive thank you to our waitress Ella W , you were so polite and kind , made the experience 10x better.

Food was terrible for the price you pay and was served just warm enough to eat. Dont bother with the nacho starters we ordered chili top up and got just over a teaspoons worth of chili. Not going back there again.

I saw how stuffs treat delivery drivers. It is horrible!!! Drivers came first than visitors after them customers but stuffs pretended even they don't see drivers and serviced customers. It is TERRIBLE!!!

It’s no wonder the Restaurant group are closing restaurants when they have staff telling customers they are fully booked when the restaurant is half empty!!!! Chiquitos has been a favourite for us for over 20 years . We have seen a decline in service and menu choices and quality over the years but tonight is the last straw being turned away when we could see the restaurant was less then half full . This will be the last chance of our business. Very disappointed and I predict Chiquitos will soon be a restaurant chain we will see disappearing from our high street. Very sad !!!!

Food and service is very good, all awesome only downside on the day was some couple who were sitting behind their friends turned up drunk so they were being loud and swearing a lot my kids were finding it annoying and so were we.

Just dropped in on our way home, seated quickly and given attentive and very professional service by our waitress who was also training a new member of the team. My paella wasn't hot and we were given cold plates which was a bit disappointing. It was tasty hence the rating given. The fajita brownie was thoroughly enjoyed and disappeared before the I've cream melted.

Popped in after travelling back from a holiday and the restaurant provided the same great service and food that we can come to expect. We will certainly be back!

The service was amazing and the staff, the food was also great well cooked tasty. The only reason they got 4 stars was the price was expensive in comparison to other places in the area. But they were very accommodating and looked after us well. The service charge/tip was added to the bill which I think should be offered by the customer.

Went for a meal for Valentines Day. We were both really happy. Seating nice and spaced out, it was busy but not too noisy. Food came out quickly and tasted great. Drinks the same. Staff very attentive and helpful. Will happily come back. Reasonably priced too.

The service from management was absolutely terrible. Took my dad who is disabled & in a wheelchair, we had to wait for an hour for the table, firstly they didn't even acknowledge my dad was in a wheelchair & secondly they were happy for us to wait on the car with a disabled person, although there were plenty tables we could have been sat at whilst waiting

We came here for drinks with a date that had given me a 2nd chance after I text her a free box of hello fresh (what was I thinking) Anyway, Ewan (hope that’s the correct spelling) was a fantastic barman and host, very engaging, chatty, and accommodating when my date asked for a change of drink (her fault not Ewan’s) Thanks again to Ewan for his superb hospitality and great drinks making skills.

I came to Chiquitos for after dinner drinks, with a date, who I had given a second chance to, after things had fizzled out last summer, when he sent me a voucher for Hello Fresh. Euan (I hope I've spelt his name right) was patient and accomodating, after I had ordered the wrong drink. He was attentive, but gave us enough space to get reacquainted and not regret meeting this lovely man again and remember why I liked him so much when we first met. Thank you for being so awesome Euan...I hope you get all the promotions!!

Came for my sister birthday. Walk in work no booking. Staff really helpful and friendly. Order a couple of mocktails...really nice (both of us were driving) We didn't know what we wanted so did tapas style with lots of dishes. All were really good! Fresh and very tasty. Due to a call from my niece had to rush off but accommodated us and sorted the bill quick. Would recommend again.

Food was amazing only to be let down by the service . Other customers and us had to chase members of staff down to get tables cleared and get the bill. No check backs were given which is a shame as we had a problem with our garlic bread . Staff members were seen to be talking to friends that were in at the time and giving hugs whilst customers were left waiting

Found this restaurant by chance in Leicestershire. Great lunch offer off a set lunch menu in addition to the full menu. Lunch menu offers 1,2,3 courses 3 course was £13. Servers were attentive and quick. Only brought it down to 1 star because the churros let the rest of meal down. No cinnamon and chocolate was watery.

A party of 9 of us descended on the restaurant, gradually, over a two and half hour period on Saturday night. The manager was incredibly helpful and flexible in accommodating us at a late stage, when the restaurant wasn't empty by any means (others might have just said no). We were all ordering in different groups, at different times, it could have been confusing for the staff. But GRACE, our wonderful, personable, helpful waitress handled us all with absolute ease. The service was wonderful. We really appreciated it. The atmostphere in there was chilled and cheerful. We all enjoyed our food, and the cocktails were a great standard! We would definitely recommend. Thank you to all the staff.

Very let down by the new menu, the place was empty, and the food was not good. Bring back the tapas menu. The staff service was excellent. Cannot fault them.

I had a juicy Mexican stake, chips, veg skewer & pepper corn sauce. The Missus had tender bbq pork ribs & chicken wings with chips. For puds brownie, ice cream with chocolate & toffee sauce on a hot skillet....DELISH!

Great place, great atmosphere and to top it off great food. We haven't been for a while and we wasnt disappointed it's such a relaxing place and the staff were great. A special shout to Anetta our server tonight nothing was too much trouble and always a smile on her face. Update to this review it is still great and have just been for the wife's 40th birthday. Anetta was our server again and is an absolute credit to this place. Thank you for making the night so wonderful.

I love the tacos from here way better than taco bell not usually massively busy in there service is quick good and polite start with bowl of nachos and then main smokey bbq tacos cannot go wrong . Would definitely recommend if you love Mexican food win win !
