Chinese Overseas in Newham

This was the first sit down Chinese I have been to in YEARS. This serves proper, traditional grub, fast, flavourful and authentic. We were seated and our food to us within about 10 minutes after ordering. Lovely flavour on food. We wanted to order more and more! Would recommend!

food was tasty and on time but portions was bit small

Ordered satay pork in the box meal section and rice didn’t turn up. I then called them and they argued with me that it’s not in the rice box section. Photos here to prove it is. Instead of just sending me rice, they argued with me that it isn’t in the rice box section. Very dissapointing will never order again

overpriced a lot, the quantity in the containers was very small

first time ordering, best chow mein I've had for ages, not a fan of the sticky rice though, but it's not enough of a downer to stop me ordering again

Simple Chinese restaurant with extensive, reasonable menu. Tasty.

Ate here after visiting the London Stadium. Nice local Chinese. Good fast service. I had mixed seafood chow mein which was tasty plus some prawn crackers. It was good but the portions were on the small side compared with most Chinese restaurants I have visited recently.

will never order from here again the crispy chilli beef was soggy. rice wasn't nice, lumps stuck together. spring rolls had hardly any vegetables in them very doughy. would not recommend

Food was great and still piping hot when delivered despite not being very near the restaurant. Have ordered before and will definitely do so again.

Portion size has been cut compare to before. The Singapore Vermicelli were too hot, almost inedible.

Great value & taste on vegan & vegetarian options for takeaway 👍 They always include prawn crackers too

The meat was tough, with little flavour. The fried rice was oily and no taste.

If you're looking for authentic chow mein this is where you will find true chow mein

I don’t ever really leave reviews but I’m compelled to. Simply do better how on earth can you justify charging people the prices you do for these ridiculous portion sizes, in all honesty these pictures make the portion sizes look ever bigger than it really was. Bill was roughly £60, and don’t get me wrong it wasn’t necessarily the money but in this cost of living don’t take the piss, I’ve eaten here more than once first time 5 years ago and it was never like this and obviously most recently which will be my last time never again DO BETTER!!

They watered down sweet and sour sauce that came with chicken balls.

The main course was meant to be sweet & sour sliced chicken breast and I received dry hard pieces of what was meant to be chicken but tasted like 2 year old pizza crust with a dip of sour sauce. What on earth did I just receive ! Outrages

Very disappointed, usually I leave good reviews but not today, when tracking driver he was going in the opposite direction to where my address is, therefore food was cold and had to be repeated, so the quality suffered, just 1 star, very disappointed customer

The food was tasty, we did enjoy our dinner.

Steamed prawn dumplings over cooked. Hofan noodles warmed up in the microwave were also stodgy and overcooked. For food that is quick to cook there shoild be no beed for re heating. Spent nearly £40 for bin food

Took 2 hours to be delivered. Couldn't contact the restaurant or Just Eat. Just Eat app said courier is at the restaurant for an hour. Eventually the restaurant informed me the food has been sat waiting and there is no courier. The restaurant hadn't tried to contact Just Eat. They gave me Just Eat's restaurant support number for me to call. Food arrived cold.

Worst chinese I've ever had in London. The food was so greasy I struggled to open the containers. Everything swimming in oil. Food didn't seem fresh, was scared to eat it. Never again

Ordered beef with mushrooms and bamboo shoots and loved it so much!

Everything was fine except for some of the beef in the rice noodles was a bit tough and the Sweet and sour sauce was very watery.

My spring roles were burnt and veg was just warmed not cooked as usually is

Food is cold, rice is hard, tastes like they used old oil to fry the food - in all NOT GOOD and not happy, deffo not worth the price

I ordered something for take away and while I was waiting for food, the woman who took my order she started to cut her nails in front on me. Disappointed and disgusted

I was absolutely appalled. It was worse than my local takeaway. Couldn't eat it. One part of the meal was cold on the inside, obviously not defrosted properly. The rest of the food tasted like it was all made from packet. Really really bad

The food took over 2 hours to arrive despite having an original estimate of 30-50mins. We contacted the restaurant twice to ask what was happening and they confirmed that the food was ready to be collected but no driver was allocated. The restaurant were very nice about it and helped by contacting Just Eat as we were unable to on our side. Incredibly disappointed with this service as I've never had issues with Just Eat before.

First time in the area, wanted something tasty. Saw this place and gave it a try. Was not disappointed, very nice dishes excellent flavor and I really enjoyed the food. Will call in again when in the area.

Been here many times in the past. Used to be fabulous and very good value for money. Gone downhill. The food was poor and not cheap Staff friendly but wouldn't rush to return such a shame when good places deteriorate.

Food was lovely. Cooked fresh and piping hot. Reasonable prices. Service was polite and was quick. No complaints. Only thing for me is that I feel the chilli oil could have more taste and be a bit hotter.

Food was revolting, weird smell from it. We asked for more tap water and the woman picked the glasses up by putting her fingers in it and gave us the same glasses back, very unhygienic. They stared at you while you were eating

Food is good, service is average although there is more atmosphere in a morgue. It may be different in the evening but I've only ever been here at lunchtime.

Ordered chicken fried rice and when it arrived it was burnt and very dark in colour. Even opening the container you can smell the burnt smell. Not impressed

I have ordered a few times from here without any problems until recently. My wife and me had ordered dinner via takeout app and we had a very bad dose of food poisoning which has literally crippled us for a few days. On this experience alone this will be my last order from them

I suspect that the food was prepared for the original delivery time which was over an hour ago. The delivery slot was push back waiter for a delivery person. So the chips and curry sauce are very cold whilst the mains have retained some heat but are Luke warn

The staff were amazing and incredibly welcoming. The food was fantastic and the crispy aromatic duck was brilliant. My husband really enjoyed his spicy chow mein and we had an enjoyable night and ate so much.

We ate in. Superb food served as soon as it was cooked. Very good value for money indeed. Between the 2 of us we had: lemon chicken, satay chicken, boiled rice, plain chow mein and 2 pancake rolls for £33.00 Highly recommended

The sweet and sour sauce was not filled to the top it was only 2 thirds of a cup like the other third was given to someone else because they didn't have enough! I only go 3 prawns in my sweet and sour prawns, honestly guys if you going to do a box deal at least put a good portion of prawns in the food 3 is totally unacceptable!!

Visiting from the states we dined here because we had had a long day and it was close to our hotel. Our family of three all enjoyed it so much we went back for another meal before heading home

Really bland food taste like it was kept in the freezer then warmed up to give to me would not recommend ,end at all!!!

The chicken slices were super dryer and the overcooked broken container was received with the chicken slices, the food was cold.

It was after the delivery man left that I noticed one of the food I ordered sauce was spilled and all the sauce was at the bottom of the bag.

Food does not taste as authentic Chinese at all😒Rice and sweet and savour prawns box big portion of boiled rice and 4 prawns only! For £8.30?! That’s a joke. It was my first and last time ordering from this place sorry.

Rice was overcooked and salty. Beef ordered was so hard it was impossible to chew. The vegetable spring rolls were nice however

The satay sauce is not what I expected. Very watery and no signs of any peanuts. I ordered this because I wanted extra satay sauce. Very little chicken in the chicken and vegetables. Poor.

Ordered dry ribs +2 but only got 1

Really nice and spicy schezuan. Very fast service. My only beef with this style of restaurant is paying £3-4 for plain rice which is worth about 20p. Nevertheless a very good experience. Thank you

I asked for no peas cause my mum is alergic to it and there is peas in my meal

Came around 3:00pm and had three dishes. Good and authentic food than what I expected from reviews in google map. The service is quick and warm. Recommend if you want try something more authentic. 猪肚鸡煲（大致两人份） 夫妻肺片（量大，辣口微甜） 溜肉段（外酥里嫩但肉有点碎，不介意的话可以尝试）

Not worth the money!! Will never go back again, not recommended!! The food was tasteless, expensive and portions were far too small. We had to Order 2 chicken fried rice per person ... Around £18 for just rice per person , that's Ridiculous! Management needs to revise the whole thing again and train their staff too. Some of them were rude. We were served by another staff named lisa when we arrived who seems the only nice one.

Food taste is below average, small portions for the price. Turn out to be an expensive local done in. One waitress was rude ( not Lisa) and dismissive with poor English ( although, I believe she understands English fully). £8.50 for a chicken fried rice which hardly enough for I person. Poor experience and expensive....hence why it was empty when we reached.
