Chinese First Takeaway in East Riding of Yorkshire

The one star is for the prawn crackers Sweet and sour is like vinegar no taste Chilli and garlic tasteless and again like vinegar Curry sauce no taste And sausage and chips and gravy, gravy look like tar sausages (3) burnt on the outside and barely done in the middle, now the service was slow, the kid taking the order couldn’t understand or hear us guessing because of his woolly hat and his long hair, the atmosphere didn’t feel clean

Horrible food, duck was boiled not roasted, sauce was like vinegar, maybe 5 pieces of meat if you could call it that, don’t go , should be shut down

Lovely atmosphere. Staff professional and more than happy to ensure you enjoy your time there. Dogs allowed in non carpeted areas. Lots of cask beers for the discerning pallate.

Friendly staff, cash only payment, prompt serving and always busy. Food normally takes 10 to 15 minutes to prepare so no long waiting times but can order by phone if needs be. Inexpensive meals for the family and have had little to complain about.

Family stay in Caravan so, had to have Chinese night. We had a large order and collected it. The order was all correct, the food was hot and very nice. No complaints. Chips a little over oily but nice nonetheless. The actual place is probably due a spruce up and couldn’t find the hygien rating in the window. That said, staff were friendly and food very nice. Thankyou.

Waited nearly 2 hour for delivey only to be told it would be another 20minutes and they had not even left, order cancelled. Will not be using these again

Why is the food tasty and hot on a Monday, and awful on a Wednesday?!? Lukewarm fried rice. Lukewarm food. Such a pity

Always consistently tasty! Staff professional and welcoming. The fried rice is tasty enough to eat on its own! I always ask for the chicken balls to be well done- hate floppy batter! They're spot on

I ordered chicken fried rice times 2 chips and curry sauce the sauce was too salty rice was flavourless peas in it was dry and over cooked the chicken was tough and slightly underdone the the only positive was the chips but I wouldn't even say they was great

We had awful food from another takeaway in withernsea so tried this one hoping it would be better. It was but it wasn't brilliant. Crab meat and sweetcorn soup was tasty but surprisingly spicy. The king prawn sweet and sour had a strange taste but the salt and chilli chicken had no spice at all. That's another takeaway we won't be using

Overall - we enjoyed our food - some 'starters' were not available shame considering you must have had the ingredients to make other products. However good value, lots of food for price. Good quality

Just bought a special chow mein, I had 2 clumps of noodles and the whole dish tasted of fish. Not a nice taste tbh. Disappointed as an understatement.

First time order.Shezhuan was vinegary and lacking in veg, just sauce that was odd and not pleasant. Special Fried rice was lacking in colour, fried egg or decent meat. Beef looked pre chewed.Ribs were hit and miss, some OK but not well cooked, some fatty. Sauce was not peking sauce. Just a really thick packet sauce full of thickener. Chips were great. Shame we don't eat many chips.Won't be returning.

WAY BETTER THAN HONG KONG! Hong Kong rip you off and steal your money. much more pleasent staff here! x

Really disappointing the majority of the four meals have just gone into the bin. Beef looked undercooked, curry sauce was bland and black bean sauce watery.

Food was not cooked, made my significant other very ill, food was just mixed together when explicitly asked for it to be wrapped separately

We ordered take out food for six people, all eating different dishes. The order was ready within 20 minutes and every one of the dishes tasted excellent. The staff were friendly and pleasent when we collected the order. Will definately be ordering food from here again.

I was away with my 8 year old, we often have the salt and pepper boxes at home so we thought we would try this chineses version. Every Chinese we have had one from is always happy to change the sauce and anything that you don't like. We hate curry so wanted to swap the sauce and the curry dumplings and wasn't fussy what too. The Chinese refused. Not everyone likes curry so this I found ridiculous.

We went for a holiday in Withernsea and fancied having some chinese takeaway. It was the biggest mistake, as soon as we opened the boxes it was no where near tempting. The food was absolutely disgusting as all the food ended up in the bin. We always visit chinese restaurants in London at least once a week and without a doubt this was the WORST chinese we ever had! Would not recommend!!!!!

Very good food and great value for money. The ribs were a bit chewy and my dad found some of the dishes to taste salty but overall the food was lovely. We were also given free prawn crackers and fortune cookies.

Absolutely rubbish.beef mushroom.chicken curry jeez looked like my beef was cooked in someone bath water.was horrendous my dogs wouldn't even touch it. Avoid it totally crap....

Fantastic food as always. Not too long for deliveries on a busy Saturday night. Nothing wrong with the order either which is great. Hot, lovely food!

I got some chicken and prawns and the prawns smelt funny so I only ate the chicken big mistake I was violently Ill for 2 days with a stomach upset. I went to complain but the owner seemed disinterested. I noticed how dirty everything is. My advice is if you value your health stay away

We ordered pancake rolls, they wasn’t that bad.

Only thing Chinese about this place is the sign. All English people serving & cooking. Food was extremely poor, chicken was full of fat, didn't taste like Chinese food, will not return

We order meal A or B (menu back page)on a monthly basis. Good selection of tasty food in each meal. Quality food,good value,always arrive hot and speedy delivery what more could you want.

Who ever drives from hull here all I can say is there must be some bad Chinese’s in hull to think this place is any good !!! Worst Chinese ever noodles like leather, duck soggy schezwan was like jelly that tasted of nothing with big huge thick pieces of chicken, wan ton swimming in grease absolutely disgusting ........ paid £21 for 1 portion of egg fried rice cause that’s all that was eaten very nearly got in the car and dumped it back with them DO NOT EAT HERE YAK

Came from hull last night to try here..ordered special chowmein and spring rolls..the chowmein was just noodles in gravy with no mushrooms..no beansprouts or anything and had only small bits of shredded meat in..the beef was the only meat that was chunky unfortunately it was too chewy like leather the gravy/sauce the noodles were in was very runny and salty and the spring rolls were just packed with bean sprouts meaning you couldn't bite in to it without it going all over and only had tiny crumbs of meat in I.ll stick to my local chinese from now on

This was by far the worst Chinese takeaway experience we have ever had.

Pedí un curry house especial y quedé decepcionado con ingredientes y sabor. Me esperaba una selección de carnes en un curry especial (de cerdo, langostinos, pollo, ternera, etc.) pero esto fue sólo un pollo, aunque completa de la mama, cortada en rodajas. La salsa curry era insípida, no muy picante o sabrosa. No comer toda la comida. No me visita aquí.

A este cliente habitual es chino y muy buena calidad y cantidad por un buen precio. Hemos probado todos los otros en la ciudad y este es sin duda uno de los mejores. Continuaremos a volver y están teniendo este chino de nuevo esta noche nos traen a nuestro domicilio y este es un buen servicio también.

Bolas de pollo, patatas fritas y arroz frito. . Todos muy sabroso y abundante para dos! Todo cuesta poco más de 7 libras. . Fantástico!

Según comentarios probamos el llevar deposité todo en la papelera. El peor dulce y agria he probado costillas de ácidos grasos. Terminé pagando 14. 00 a comer arroz frito de huevo. No vayas.

Por más que intento este llevar y todo lo que puedo decir es que debe ser lo hacen porque soy rápido desarrollo un gusto por sus bolas de pollo frito y arroz. . . ñam ñam!

I am a regular here and usually call up my order before popping in to collect. I live 10 mins away and often my food is ready when I arrive, if not there is only a minimal wait. You cannot ask for better than that.The food is good - although I find the spring rolls a little greasy.My only issue is ordering too much. The portion sizes are generous and I always end up with too much food (I never learn)

We ordered a takeaway whilst staying at a caravan in Withernsea. The delivery was very prompt and the food was delicious with ample portions and very fresh. Would certainly use again and we were able to feed 4 adults for less than £20 with plenty to spare for seconds.

Excellent value and great food moved to Withernsea and had a couple of takeaways not disappointed would recommend to anyone who wants good food at a reasonable price

Had a take out and I am sorrybto say it was so insipid I really cannot recommend this place to anyone.

Order here at least once a month - very nice Chinese very time. Chicken ball portion is great - always 10 very large pieces. the curry sauce is excellent, and the rice is always very tasty. Everything is always piping hot wether we get delivery or take way. I would really like to be able to sit in a decent restaurant however, not have to take away.

Firstly am not a typical Chinese lover... and if I go I tend to stick with British dishes... have to say two visits here and I am hooked... Chinese mushroom curry was mouthwatering delicious... and when added to fried rice it was wonderful... only question is can I honestly do another Chinese later this week lol

Stayed at withernsea sands thought we would try this Chinese takeaway and it was lovely, we would definitely recommend.

Food was very nice and u get loads located within the Town near too all amenities and beach and not far to walk from where we was staying at caravan park

Have ordered from this Chinese several times now and have never been disappointed the food is always hot, fresh and very tasty plus a very reasonable price. The prawn crackers actually taste of prawn - go figure!!!Well done Chinese first you're certainly my first for Chinese food

Took a while to arrive (understandable on a Saturday night) but was hot and tasty when we got it, this place never lets me down.

lovely food and rice comes as part of price not seperate as it usually is. We had a great takeaway from here and will go back again.

We called here for the house special omelette.It is well cooked and massive it`s filled with meat and prawns and comes with a generous portion of thick cut chips included.Yet again the Chinese first have up trumps.

We were in Withernsea and called here while passing.We both ordered the special which was large well cooked filled with meats and prawns.Served with chips it was really delicious and we would recommend it.

What I like about Chinese First is it's fast :) The food is freshly cooked, always tasty, reasonably priced and the staff are always polite and friendly. What more could you ask for?

Have had a few meals from here and everyone has been very good. The staff were lovely and helpful , even told me if i jigged my order it would be cheaper. They also deliver to my holiday park Sand le mere so a big bonus.

Pink beef!!!! Wrong order. Do not order from here!!! Threw my ring up after. Rice was dry. Chicken n mushroom wad like a soup. Absolutely disgraceful

Best Chinese food we have ever had. Very cheap, friendly staff. The food was very quick considering it was freshly made, and the phone was constantly ringing with orders.

Best Chinese we had in a long time! Always use this now when we stay in Withernsea it is nicer than any in our city! Very fresh tasy meat.the prawn toast is absolutely gorgeous :)

We use this place every time after trying others in the town.The food is spot on and the portions are huge.Set meal A for two people easily feeds four just ask to change one(you get two)of the egg fried rice for chips and your away.The special omelette is massive and is well cooked as is everything we have tried.

This is our takeaway choice, the food is always fresh and hot. The staff are polite and approachable and the choice on the menu is excellent. There really is nothing bad to say about this place. Everything i have eaten from here is decent and the sweet and sour chicken in batter is lovely and easily feeds two so very economical!! If you are holidaying in Withernsea and fancy a cook free day then this is the place to order from.
