We bought a meal as a takeaway for three people. All I can say is totally awful . Everything swimming in oil not just oil but old dirty oil everything from the chow mein to the chicken balls all tasted the same just dirty oil . Hence not one single dish was eaten and 90 % of the purchased meal was binned

Always enjoyed a lovely meal from here when we’ve ordered takeaways. They take card which makes it very convenient too and have always been so pleasant.

Spent a lovely evening at China Town restaurant. Food was all very delicious, and my 11 year old dining companion went from saying she didn't like noodles to loving them! Hard to believe we'd never eaten here before, and we hope to come again soon.

Ordered takeaway as we were visiting family in the area. They had never tried it before and they had lived near by for nearly 6 years. All 4 of us enjoyed every dish. It was extremely well cooked, very fresh ingredients and we all felt it was amazing value. Definitely be back and would also consider eating in the restaurant as it was spotless. Shame they don't deliver to co. Durham

The worst Chinese food I’ve eaten in my life. I’ve lived in Singapore and travelled and lived in Asia most of my life. But I’ve never tasted such bland and atrocious food. Small portions, poor quality. We ordered the Szechuan tofu that was sweet. The prawns were overcooked and rubbery. Egg fried rice had practically no eggs and zero taste.

We have been coming to this restaurant quite a few times now and the food is always consistant really good .... the lemon chicken is the best I have ever tasted in fact all the food we have tried has been excellent the service is very good too. A really lovely friendly couple run this restaurant.

Very small portions. Ordered a curry sauce to share between 2 meals and it was barely enough for one. Pretty bland chow mein and fried rice was more like boiled rice. Was just visiting area but wouldn't order again. Bit disappointing.

We love getting a takeaway from the China Town restaurant, without a doubt the best Chinese restaurant we've been to (and we've sampled a fair few!). We even treat ourselves when we're back in town having moved away a few years ago!

We love the consistant excellent food on offer and the understated quiet service. Authentic tastes and quality ingredients. Had numerous takeaways recently, all good. You will need to wait around an hour but it is worth it for freshly cooked dishes. The interior is basic if you want to eat in.

Absolutely delicious. Friendly and timely service by proprietors who seem to really care that you enjoy your food and experience. Take away is always packed perfectly to keep warm and avoid spills. My favorite is the house special fine fried noodles and crispy won ton. 😋

A pleasant dining experience with friendly, accommodating staff. Child friendly, with french fries and egg-fried rice (both of which were devoured by a two year old). Ambiance was quiet at 5:30 with music playing at the perfect conversational volume. Soup was absolutely fantastic (shredded duck). Mains were spot-on and appropriately portioned, if a little large. Could do with a larger drinks selection, especially spirits.

Trading time says 10pm close went at 8.30pm to only be served takeaway as they were closing so might as well not have trading times if your not going to stick to them , ordered food , Beef Curry - Sause was greasy and Beef was pink and rubbery , Chicken Balls were undercooked batter was still raw on the inside , Egg fried rice but literally no Egg so might as well of not bothered , safe to say was £30 wasted on a meal i didn't enjoy at all overall felt like i was inconviencing the restaurant with ordering and order was rushed to be cooked to get rid of us.

Ordered over an hour ago and been told we have another hour to wait. This was always our go to place but will caution anyone from ordering as all they were interested in was cancelling out order even though it has paid for ???? No idea why it has deteriorated so much that they no longer value their regular customers. I will not order from here again. Anyone ordering from here unless you order at least two hours prior and get food that was cooked a long time beforehand please be careful.

We went to the Axe and Compass on Friday the 28th of February. The pub was busy but not over crowded. As I was driving I tried the Thatcher's Zero alcohol cider And found it to be very good. There were a selection of crusty roll sandwiches available and they were excellent. The pub is divided into two halves and in the other half a band was playing. The band room was great with a stage a couple of feet high so every one could see. All in all a brilliant Friday night out, in a highly recommended pub.
