Had our dog with us so couldn't eat it so we ordered a takeaway. Quick service. Food was very good, we had the set meal. Lasted us over 2 nights. You got a lot for your money. Definitely worth a go.

We ordered a take away Special curry was very watery lost its spice Special fried rice or something that's was soup with bits of meat huge chunk of chicken that was cooked in brine It wasn't that Special Spring rolls they were nice sweet chilli sauce was watered down Disappointing wouldn't return

We had a take away - all veggie and some lovely salt and chilli tofu and salt and pepper chips plus spring rolls. Ready in 20 mins and well packaged, friendly service - yummy food I think the restuarant looked closed for refurbishment

We drove from Broadway after reading this was a dine in restaurant. After a twelve mile journey we found a shabby down at heel take away. Nothing in the advertising on their website or this one makes it clear they do not have a dine in restaurant. Avoid at all costs!

I just love this takeaway, lovely fresh Chinese all made to order, good choice on offer. Always ready on time and steaming hot. Just love the special Singapore Chow Mein, great value for the money

Finding that all the restaurants were booked up on a weekend, we stopped by this little takeaway and it didn't disappoint. The food was quick, hot and very tasty - and there was lots of it too!

Quick service, good selection available, we went for Szechuan Chicken, Special Singapore Chow Mein, Egg Fried Rice, Chips and Prawn Crackers. Everything was hot and tasty, really good value as large portions.

Visited Bourton for something to eat by the river. Ordered in person and food was ready to collect in 20 minutes. Good food, nice and hot, good portion sizes. Would recommend.

We were here on Tue 23rd Nov at 17.30 and found out they now only do takeaway service. We ordered 2 Hot & Sour Soup, Deep Fried Dumplings, Deep Fried King Prawn with Salt & Chilli, Beef Chow Mein, Mixed Veg in Black Bean Sauce. It was 27.10 £ which was inexpensive. We were told it was 15 mins wait so we went out walked around a bit. Food was nice, hot and fresh. Reasonable portions tho but no plastic or takeaway cutleries. We will definitely come back again.

Have had takeaway from this Chinese on several occasions, the last and worst was 27 May 2021. On arriving at the Bamboo Villa, (latest name used!) couldnt attract the Staff's attention, being badly redecorated!, chairs barred my access to the Restaurant, so shouted to get some attention. It was about 8.45 so not that late, food come suspiciously quiclky and was particularly average, 2 out 5. Gets lots of Tourist passing trade, at time we went was Takeaway only. Buyers beware, poor decor, poor service, limited drinks choices, food very poor! Would NOT go again, to eat in or Takeaway!! 😞

SERIOUS DECLINE THIS YEAR - decor seedy, staff always pleasant but incapable of implementing any improvements - owner(s) are absentee landlords. Tonight’s takeaway was from misleading menu, “King prawns” are very small prawns and curry sauce very watery - much inferior to their previously very good offering. All previous comments/complaints have been met with supreme nonchalance and complete inaction. As the only Chinese in a much-visited tourist village, the Bamboo Village/ Chinatown probably makes its way, but the decline is sad to experience.

It was good ... well I like to be honest... but we have had much better! Food could have been hotter but I can not argue with the amount you got and the beef was NOT a nasty rip off but good quality as we had the Fillet Steak Cantonese style... Lemon chicken sauce a bit watery but tasty, nice sauce for the Satay Chicken Duck was over cooked but great to see Crispy Noodles on the menu Looking at the previous reviews it seems hit and miss , we happened to be there in a quieter period and maybe that helps. But I would try it again.

Probablemente usaría cebolletas en lugar de las normales, pero por lo demás es muy agradable. Los otros platos que pedimos también estaban bien. Así que no es un factor sorpresa, diría que comida china estándar. Volvería. Bueno si no quiere aventurarse en el camino hacia la competencia.

We had the most delicious takeaway from this restaurant. The staff were really friendly too. I highly recommend and will definitely return.

OK, no es el mejor chino del país, no es el mejor chino del condado, pero para un pequeño pueblo cuando sientes algo diferente, entonces este establecimiento está bien. La decoración nos pareció bastante gastada y en mal estado, pero la bienvenida fue cálida y la comida era normal a buena, no tengo ninguna queja, así que pruébalo.

We weren't sure about ordering from here as heard mixed reviews but it was excellent and we have since been back. Very quick service and always ready when we arrive to collect it. The food is delicious and lots of vegetarian options that you can't get at other Chinese restaurants. The staff are friendly and welcoming!

Had a take away from here and was one of the worst I've had. Duck and Spring Onion was full of onions. Not much evidence of duck or spring onions to be honest and taste was insipid. Also ordered BBQ Spare ribs but when I got back there was BBQ sauce but no ribs. I'm sure this may have been a one off but unfortunately this was my experience.

Having read the previous reviews I thought we had been to a different restaurant. We telephoned our order as we were staying in a nearby cottage. We collected it within 30 minutes and we were warmly greeted by a staff member. We ordered two sharing starters - prawn toast, seaweed, spare ribs and spring rolls. As well as chicken chow mien, sweet and sour chicken, chicken curry with one portion of chips and one rice.We had so much food for the 4 of us and less than £10 a person. All very tasty and piping hot. Definitely will return when in the area.

My husband and I ordered take away from here and it was awful. The crispy chili beef tasted like deep fried flour and the sweet and sour chicken was very acidic. Would not recommend.

We often use China Town for take aways. It's an unpretentious restaurant but the food is consistently good. The set meals are excellent value and include generous portions. At week-ends it gets very busy so 'phoning through your order in advance is recommended. There is a bar area in which to wait. Perhaps some redecoration is overdue. It appears to be a family run business and staff are polite and efficient. We are pleased to have China Town within a short drive.

We ate here one evening on a whim. The food was good, pricing as you'd expect and portion sizes were fine too. However the decoration is very tired and it all needed a good clean.

First of all, this restaurant has changed its name to Bamboo Villa to escape the bad reviews which is why we didn’t manage to avoid it in the first place!

Eat at lots of Chinese restaurants and decided to come here as away on holiday at the moment. Really regretted our choice as concerned that we will have upset stomachs tomorrow. Had a starter of spring rolls and they came rock hard and thrown on a plate. My husband’s salt and pepper meat selection looked like something you’d uncover in an Egyptian archaeology trip. The main courses weren’t much better. I had dried up tofu in curry sauce with suspicious looking egg fried rice: never had it brown coloured before. My husband’s sweet and sour chicken - a dish you can’t go wrong with - was congealed and vile. Food aside, I will contact trading standards as my half pint was nowhere near a half pint. There was no care and attention to he table and the toilets were vile. Overall, I hope our hotel has enough toilet roll for us both tonight.

El chino es mi comida favorita, y siempre consigo los mismos platos. Comí arroz frito de Singapur, gambas Satay y cangrejo y sopa de maíz dulce para llevar. En primer lugar, la sopa era bastante suave y acuosa, no cremosa y llena de sabor como debería ser. El sabor de Satay era regular, y en su mayoría cebolla, que era muy decepcionante. Las fotos muestran lo que quedaba después de que saqué las 8 x langostinos y la mayoría de los pimientos, así que los tiré. Lo más positivo fue que el arroz frito era bastante sabroso. En general, no fue genial, y nunca volvería a comer allí.

What a little find in Bouton-on - the Water a little Chinese Restuarant than could easily be mistaken for a Cotswold Tea Shop

The seats are tatty, decor is awful, menus old/tatty and sticky, toilets dated and not as clean as I would have liked. These were all off-putting, but we had booked a table so decided to stay. Glad we did.

We visited here a few years ago and found it to be very good. Whilst in the area again we decided to return. It is a very nice Chinese. Great value for money, good portions. Friendly staff. Cheap wine. Highly advised to visit!

¡HORRIBLE! ! ! Esta es la peor comida que he probado en mi vida. Ignoré la decoración, y pensé que tal vez la comida sería buena, y el camarero era muy dulce. Tuvimos un arranque mixto, que fue lanzado en el plato. (Parecía terrible). El pollo sabía muy raro, así que no comió. Luego llegó el principal. El arroz estaba todo agrupado, y parecía viejo. La carne tenía un sabor estofado y el pollo estaba muy duro y tenía un color extraño, también olía fatal, solo comimos unos bocados y dejamos el resto. Nos quejamos con la cocinera, una mujer de rostro agrio, que no se disculpó ni explicó. Nos enviaron la factura, nos negamos a pagar ya que teníamos solo unos cuantos bocados. Tenía un malestar estomacal al día siguiente. Este lugar es un peligro para la salud, y debe cerrarse. Evitar a toda costa. Normalmente no me quejo ni escribo comentarios, solo sentí que necesitaba advertir a las personas.

Comimos aquí con nuestros dos hijos y hemos comido aquí varias veces antes. La comida ha mejorado mucho desde nuestra última visita; y estaba muy por encima del estándar de su restaurante / comida china británica promedio. Teníamos albóndigas / pato crujiente / rojo curry tailandés / ternera en salsa de frijoles negros / agridulce, etc. Todo estaba muy bien preparado y el servicio fue muy amable. El lugar está un poco en mal estado, pero esto no resta valor a una comida excelente.

Realmente disfrutamos de nuestra comida china aquí. No comemos carne de res ni de cerdo, por lo que cambiaron el menú a pollo en lugar de bolitas agridulces, etc. Sin ningún costo diferente.

Avoid at all cost I told some people outside looking at the menu not to go in they got a sandwich from local shop as all the other restaurants full WHAT does that tel, you.

We were looking to get a takeaway and realised they had a restaurant at the back so opted to dine in. The decor is a bit tired but the staff were very attentive. We chose the eat as much as you want meal which included 4 courses. We could at any time order more if we were still hungry but the portions were generous so we didn’t need more. Nice not to feel rushed as well. A very pleasant relaxed evening.

On the first night we took the set menu which in a Chinese restaurant experience says will give you a good idea of the quality and quantity of their food. It was very good and the choice quite large. We came out having eaten probably more than we should have, but went back the next day and chose only a starter and one mains, which was quite sufficient. Recommended

Went here for lunch as a couple. Lunch finished at 2 and we arrived at 1:45. They still let us eat which they didn't have to at that time. I asked for a dish not on the menu that I saw some Chinese tourists eating and they were happy to cook that for and it was lovely. My partner had a chow mein and prawn balls. Not at all greasy and really nice.

We hadn't read any of the (poor) reviews and were very pleased with the service we received and the meal itself was good. We chose from the all you can eat menu and thought it was tasty food and there was more than enough for two of us. There were quite a few other diners in the restaurant, some of them locals. Would definitely eat there again if we were in the area. The sweet and sour chicken was very good and so was the duck and hoi sin sauce. Good value for money.

My wife and I dined here during Cheltenham Festival Week. We ordered the top priced banquet for two. The food was virtually inedible. The crispy duck and pancakes were horrible. Rather than being shredded the duck appeared to have been minced and tasted nothing like...

We went in here as we did just wanted something different. The food was fine, nothing magical or dire. You get good sized portions, a good sized menu and staff were helpful. No complaints.

The complete lack of people in the restaurant should have been a warning although to be fair it was early and mid-week. The prawn toast was burnt. Spare ribs tasteless. Chicken in Ginger, was anaemic and only just cooked. On the plus side, the pekin duck was done to perfection, it did just need some decent cucumber and onion to go with it. You can't complain about the value, an absolute steal,but maybe I am happy to pay a bit more. Wouldn't return.

Lovely food with pleasant attentive staff.. Food choice in abundance and provided hot and promptly but....... The appearance and disgusting public female toilets have let this establishment down. The floor was covered in dirt and insects with the toilet brush and surrounding floor really dirty. We quickly headed out of this place and unknowingly this restaurant was not displaying their food hygiene rating. Will not be returning here. Advise if you want to eat here don't go near the toilets wait u til you use conveniences outside

Typisch Chinees-Engelse menu kaart aangevuld met gerechten uit andere landen uit het oosten; Thais,indonesisch enz. De uitgeprobeerde gerechten waren goed van smaak, een en ander had wel wat warmer gemogen. Voor de variatie op het engelse pubfood toch wel een aanrader.

First time here, having recently moved into the area. Food is great, prices are good, midweek special menu on offer all you can eat. Decor could do with updating however the food is delightful as are the staff.

Absolutely awful Went with friends who are vegetarian, ordered king prawn Thai green curry, came with chicken in so sent back but they obviously just took out the chicken & added king prawns because there was a piece of chicken still in the dish after she had eaten some of it! Also seen them emptying the left over prawn crackers back in the box twice!! We will never eat there again!!!

Since we are Asian we know very well Chinese food. China Town restaurant is the only Asian restaurant in this tiny village. Taste wise is just average but they have wide selection of Chinese food and most importantly we can have dinner with rice. So far we are satisfied with the variety of the food offer but we would like to try other restaurant if there is another choice of Asian food. Price is reasonable for Chinese food in England. The atmosphere is typical Chinese restaurants with lots of Chinese ornament. However, the room is warm inside due to hot summer nights. Overall, we enjoy our dinner to satisfy our hunger.

Was unsure when we walked in, the decor needs a lot to be desired. Comprehensive menu made us think mmmmm. However we ate the best dim sum outside of Asia and fantastic singapore noodles.Toilets needs a good clean and an update.Try it for yourself, do not be put off.

We almost walked out again when realising we were almost the only diners. Food was quite nice. Shame about the group of youngsters who came in and sat behind us discussing their drunken bowel movements and mishaps and all the staff took it in turns to go out the front for a fag. Wasn't dreadful but wouldn't rush back.

This is the second time me and my partner have been here for the all you can eat. The service is quick and friendly and everything was correct with our order.I feel the restaurant could do with a lick of paint here and there and the toilets could do with a good clean! That aside that didn't effect the quality of the food and I would return if I fancied Chinese on my next visit to Bourton in the water.

Large restaurant with only a few tables occupied....Should have walked away then! Big menu, we ordered two different Thai dishes red/green with rice. Both arrived within a minute of ordering ?!?!?!? looking identical other than one was prawn, the other was chicken (cubed, as in frozen) both had lots of potato in, no baby cob, water chestnut, mange tout etc which is what I have always had elsewhere. Bottle of wine was plonked on the table, not poured let alone offered to taste! We listened to Auld Lang Syne three times within the 45 mins we were there! Decor was dire! On leaving I needed the loo...the floor was sticky and there was no toilet roll, I went back to the waiter and told them there was no toilet roll in the ladies, he disappeared, only to reappear with one toilet roll for me to replace for them! I voiced my dissatisfaction when paying the bill. They showed no remorse / concern/ care. I would strongly recommend you avoid.

Ate here last weekend, it was the only place with empty tables, as we had not booked anywhere in advance. We were staying in Bourton on the Water for a weekend to celebrate my husband's rehabilitation from heart surgery. Visiting here was the only low point of the trip. The food was average take-away type food, this was to be expected, when we checked out the prices, they were reasonable. But it was the dreadful service that we received that was the main thing that will stand out in our memories. The attitude of the staff was sloppy and insolent. We left as soon as we could, and even then we were given the wrong bill, which was for twice as much as it should have been. This was corrected once we pointed it out. We would never go back here!

Had the four-course special, a very reasonable £15.50 each. Food not the very best Chinese ever, but far from the worst as other reviews suggest. Service good. Interior of restaurant not overly atmospheric.

Decided to follow other trip advisor recommendation and went along as hotel food looked uninspiring. Great choice on menu , good variety with Malaysian food too, well cooked and tasty and very good value

A family visit and we chose a wide variety of food, some was great, bit my hot and sour soup was bland and needed some sour... my main was a watery curry with over cooked prawns again fairly bland ..My family enjoyed their starters and some mains were good but overall I can only give a mid range review ... sorry!

The menu covered a large range of Chinese, Malaysian and Thai dishes offering a great selection of tasty dishes at good value.What More could you ask for.

Travel in burton and call to ask whether they offer delivery or not, the woman just answered quite rudely that 'No! We don't offer delivery! Bye!' I don't whether the quality of the food is good or not, at least the way they treat customers is quite disappointing!

I'm a local, always hit and miss here but tonight was awful and I won't be returning again! Worst 27 pound I've spent yet so disappointed. We had our usual.. Duck chowmein which had loads of fat in with little meat and the noodles were overcooked and mushy.The sweet and sour pork was terribly bitter, I expect a little bitterness with pineapple but this was unbearable. The smoked shredded chicken and chips were both extremely over cooked, chicken was just about edible but the chips we had to throw away. We decided to try something new so decided to have the duck in plum sauce.... After looking up online what it looks like I can definitely say I didn't have that! It was sat in a clear vinegar tasting sauce with thin slices of uncooked carrot and it had that horrible gone off meat taste that lingers in your mouth! Such a let down as there's not many takeaways available in Bourton that also aren't too expensive but this won't be one I will be visiting again.

Arrived home and the meal was different to what we ordered!. Chips were over cooked also egg fried rice had the smallest pieces of egg mixed in with the rice. Not the best Chinese we have eaten.

We were staying in the hotel next door and ate here one night. The food an staff were great and I would definitely eat here again.

Bland, greasy and not nice.Everything about the meal was poor - the chicken satay tasted of cardboard and the satay sauce was their general curry sauce with a few chopped peanuts mixed in. the General Tso chicken was greasy beyond belief and tasted of nothing apart from a handful of chills - a far cry from anything remotely authentic Sichuanese. I will never be eating from here again, unless you want to be disappointed, avoid, avoid avoid
