Ordered veg chow and veg Thai green which was more like wallpaper paste. The prawn crackers were stale too and the satay sauce had no flavor. Definitely won't be back for food from here anytime soon.

We always get Chinese food from here and it's always tasty and the ingredients are fresh. We usually order the same few dishes , last time I tried the Lemon chicken but the sauce that came with it (luckily in a separate pot) tasted like Lemsip so I threw it away and ate the plain chicken. However all the other dishes we ever tried were very tasty, I recommend with confidence

Ordered the house chow mein, chilli beef, thai ribs, crispy seaweed this evening. Honestly the best chinese we had in years. Food was beautiful. The lady who answered the phone was lovely and patient with finding address of a new build of the system. The delivery was fast and the driver polite and friendly..very impressed. Hope all at the star have a fab weekend

Good food. I go there regularly. As with any place, the very occasional average dish is served.

Food quality is average, portions are small for the prices they charge,the service was quick for order to colection!!!

First time ordering from this takeaway. The girl on the phone was very helpful. Waiting time advised as we're a little further away (And Saturday) was 1 to 1.5 hrs. Arrived in an hour which was great. Ordered king prawn chow mein, sweet and sour chicken, crispy lamb and duck. Was all very tasty, even the chips. Will definitely be ordering again.

First order this evening & very impressed. Delivery to Nailsea & not to long a wait. Food turned up hot & very flavoursome.. Decent size portions - we had Singapore Chow Mein, Chilli Beef, Sweet & Sour Pork & Lemon Chicken main dishes & will definitely order again.

First time ordering, food was fantastic - best Chinese takeaway I’ve had for a long time and definitely the best in the area. Delivery guy was friendly & our food arrived earlier than expected which was a bonus. Our new favourite (the crispy noodles are 5 star)

Ordered our first (and on the basis of the taste not our last) take away meal from here. Everything tasted lovely .. the last time we had pork balls that good was in China town in London, I heartily recommend this place.

Not for vegetarians or vegans, as 99% of the dishes, which contain something non-vegetarian/vegan!! The chef answers the phones, handles, cash and cooks, and I haven’t seen them washing their hands either! Not to mention that ..,The moment you enter into the moment you leave, you are covered in VEEEERY strong rather unpleasant burned, oil and food smell— I don’t really know what people like about it, but I only popped in for the very first time tonight.., never again🤢🤮

In an area where many takeaways close early it's good to find one open until 10.00pm and only 3 miles from home King prawns with ginger and spring onions was very good. Friendly service

Chicken was hard in the middle and weirdly soft outside. Chips was solid. Chow mien was flavourless. The food is awfull here I spent £50 and threw most of it away. I don’t usually mean ever I burn pizzas lol but this food was honestly so horrible

Waited for over an hour and half for delivery. It didn’t show up. Will never order from here again. Would give zero stars if google allowed that.

Spent 60 pounds for flavourless bland food. The ribs were grey and fatty I'll give it two stars for the steamed pork dumplings

Great starters and mains, especially the dim sum and Bao buns. My only one grumble is you need to spend £75 to get prawn crackers.

The best Chinese in the area! Since moving from Cleeve we have been driving from Clevedon to pick our order, it's definitely worth it. Dishes we would highly recommend are crispy chilli beef, salt and pepper squid and Singapore style rice 🤤. The staff have been always very friendly and polite.

My order tonight has taken 1hr 45mins and still not here, I’ve phoned and they tell me again it’s on its way, they’ve lost my custom now, shame cos the food isn’t bad

Haven’t had a Chinese for ages so was really looking forward to it, im so sorry to say but it was absolutely awful, the chicken skews were really stringy chewy chicken, the chicken in the chicken curry was so rubbery it didn’t even look or taste like chicken and the egg fried rice tasted like it had been cooked and then left and then fried up again. The whole meal was un edible, I Won’t be able ordering from here again!

Not good if you have allergies... (I'm allergic to eggs, chillis and peppers and other things). I've had takeaways from here twice in the last 18 months - both times I've had an allergic reaction - i believe that these were caused by pepper juice and/or chillis. Both times I've stressed the fact when I've ordered that I have these allergies yet the same outcome. Their dim sum are very tasty (hence why 2 stars not 1). Why did I go back a second time? 2 reasons, the other local Chinese Takeaway was closed for annual holiday, and I wanted to give China Star a second chance (which turned out to be a mistake). Will not return.

Probably the best Chinese I had in ages, Dad did his national service in china and he said that how it should be , Definitely going back again Staff where friendly and a very quick service,food was hot and tasty

Really disappointed with our food tonight. Chips were awful, obviously been fried several times not edible at all! This isn't the first time this has happened either. We phoned up to complain but was only offered money off next time we ordered but it's ruined our meal so we won't be ordering from here again.

The food is always spot-on if you want to change anything on a meal then more than happy to and the staff are friendly and welcome and delivery staff are awesome.

Stone cold food delivered 39 minutes late. When reheated in microwave food was bland and meat tough. Rang to complain and bolshy woman was unapologetic and disinterested. Don’t bother with this place if you want a decent meal 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼

Lived in the back and beyond takeaway delivery for 5 years now. Since April due to Covid? They deliver to Blagdon!!! this has been our little perk in these trying times. Dim sum, Mongolian lamb and crispy chilli beef is amazing. Their menu is vast.

I hadn't been here for some and I was pleasantly surprised. Nice staff and food cooked in good time and all enjoyed their dinner when I got home. The decor could benefit from a make over. But overall good.

Really enjoyed our first experience with China Star! The generous portions of incredible food were still hot after being delivered by the friendly delivery man. Look forward to ordering food here again in future!

Very excellent food lovely takeaway

Takeaway took 92 mins to arrive. Chased for time of delivery twice but still no truthful answer was given. We ordered online and if they couldn't deliver within the time they tell the customer on order, then they should let us know. At the 1hr point we chased and we were told it's on its way, 30 minutes later still nothing. Called the takeaway and the lady was rude, I asked about compensation but she outright declined. She also claimed to be the only takeaway in the area, which is untrue. We won't be ordering from this Chinese again.

Fast fresh food. Cooked to order. Nice and tasty

Good quality Chinese food, reasonably priced. Speed of service has improved greatly with the changeover to China Star. Good to see fully recyclable plastic and paper packaging used, where others still favour cheap polystyrene. Chips are good but not my favourite locally. Always my first choice for a Chinese.

Staff were rude and arrogant food was vile messed up my order shut the place down

Although I used to be my favourite Chinese in the area, since it was taken over last year it has gone down hill and I now drive to Weston instead. The times I have been since it was taken over I have been dissapointed and regretted it.
