Martina was an efficient, cheerful, helpful server who knew what was required in terms of customer service. I’d hire her in a shot if I owned a restaurant. Lovely girl.

Amazing meal as always, and Jen is always a pleasure to have as our waitress. She's a diamond and makes the experience so much better.We had a wonderful dining experience. The food was delicious, and our server, Jen, was fantastic. She was attentive and friendly throughout our meal. Her excellent service truly enhanced our visit. We will definitely be back again soon.

Good pub food and reasonably priced especially if you can get discount voucher! All food arrived well prepared and in timely manner. We were not rushed with attentive staff around when needed.

Visited for a spontaneous date night, we didn’t have a reservation but we still got a nice table in the dining area. Martina looked after us and made sure we had a lovely time. The food was very good 4/5 stars as the chicken on the mixed grill was slightly overcooked and tough but very tasty none the less.

Staff polite and efficient, no real delays, but the table staff kept us informed at all stages. The food was good, overall very impressed.

We like the friendly atmosphere and the burgers are amazing and never disappoint.

Kennyah was amazing! She couldn’t do enough for us and was so helpful and patient. She was conversationally wonderful too! The drinks came before we had finished ordering as they were that quick - it was fab thank you!

Had a lovely experience at the restaurant. Our waitress Kennyah was very good at customer service. She was informative about what was or wasn’t on offer from the menu, very patient and allowing us some extra time. She was very understanding and asked if we any had an allergies etc… she also came over religiously and asked if we wanted more drinks and double checked order to see if all with correct. Would happily come back again.

We have been to the Landing Light several times, the night before a flight from Bristol Airport. We have always been impressed and last Wednesday, 19th and Thursday, 20th February we were served by Martina who was exceptionally pleasant and efficient. Whatever we asked of her was greeted with a really warm smile. Chicken Tikka Masala was extremely good.

Waitress Sarah was very polite. She listened to me when I said menu didn't have much vegetarian/vegan choice. Sarah is kind and very professional.

The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The food came fast and it tasted very good actually excellent.

Izzy was a great server. Attentive but not overbearing and very friendly

A lovely evening spent with family, staff were very pleasant and the food was excellent 👌 will definitely be eating there again.

Sarah was a good server but the pub is clearly short staffed. It took a long time for meals and drinks to arrive.

We were a party of 8, 5 had never been before. We were warmly welcomed and the waitress introduced herself as Jen, she made us aware straight away that there wasn’t any flatbreads which was helpful when choosing. The drinks came quickly and the food was hot and tasty, we were asked how our food was and if we needed any more drinks. We had 30% off vouchers which made the food great value for money. Overall a great evening.

Prefer waiter service to be fair but we booked a table too late for that. Great food and atmosphere

The food was very very poor. My fault I guess. Ordered the mini fillet steaks and pie with roast potatoes. They weren't arguably fillet. I ordered rare. They were well done, but then they would be that thin. The steak pie wasn't a pie. It was microwaved and more like steak suet pudding. The 'roast potatoes' were soft and actually what you buy in any supermarket called potato bites. They would have been crunchier done by myself in my oven at home. Very very poor. But I guess my fault for hoping for better... Hot, edible microwaved food!

In the area so had to stop before going home! Myself and my partner had an amazing meal, Camembert was cooked to perfection it was so yummy . Food was tasty and hot, service from all team members were fantastic. Our server was amazing, remembered my allergy and took very good care of me. When in the area again i will be sure so be back. Tuesday lunchtime . Good service but food below average for price - even with a 30% discount on mains. Food dry and just about warm. Quality was poor - garlic mushroom starter couldve been made by a 6 year old - just a bowl of congealed sludge - poor presentation lacked taste for nearly 8 quid. I had a mixed grill £21 - meat was dry presentation sloppy , food not hot. Just poor quality . Ive been to Wetherspoons and paid 40% less for better food. Shame because cause staff were nice. TBH not the most pleasant locations to eat. Try the coach house at locking which is just up the road. Much better quality and cheaper. Disappointed.

It was very easy to order table online, the service was excellent. Food was good, could have had more quantity, but what we had was good.

Friendly, relaxed atmosphere. Dogs allowed in bar area with water bowls already out for use. And if course tasty, well presented food which didn't need to wait too long for. The 30% off main voucher helped this compare well with prices elsewhere.

Ordering was ok and fairly simple Starters came out fairly quickly but the mains took over 90 minutes. The mains were average nothing like it used to be. Very disappoint this time around not sure we'll be going back anytime soon

The car park was full therefore I booked a room in the car park which was very easy. We were seated quickly and position was perfect. Paul took are drinks order immediately which was nice and the drinks arrived fast. Within 10 minutes we had ordered food. Unfortunately, after 45 mins we had to speak with Paul about where are food was. Following the prompt the food arrived within 5 minutes. We ordered more drinks when the food arrived but the drinks never arrived. Good start but ended disappointingly.

Awful food. All you can taste is oil.

Quality not brilliant, probably won't go again

On several occasions in the last year, I have visited three different Marstons Inns. The experience has been the same in all of them; the food is mediocre to bad, meagre and overpriced. The most recent visit was especially disappointing. Apparently the menu is being changed. This left my daughter with almost no vegetarian choices. My caesar's chicken had been training for the Olympics: it was incredibly tough and almost inedible. I have no criticism of the waiting staff as I am sure that they are doing their best with what Marstons provides them with. But it isn't good enough. How can £5 bottle of supermarket qualty plonk cost me five times as much on Christmas day, for example? No, you can keep sending me 30% discount vouchers but my mind is made up. Marstons Inns don't offer good food or value for money.

Unusual on a menu of your style not to have gammon dish 🤷🏽‍♂️🤷🏽‍♂️ Ordered a bottle of Malbec then total that there weren't any available but I could have a glass from an open bottle,very disappointing. Personal service received from Martina couldn't be faulted despite the faults with the establishment. In fact it is fair to say that if it hadn't been for the service, sunny disposition of Martina I would have left without ordering/eating... It is staff Ile Martina that you need to be rewarding, and using as examples for future training W. Davies 05/02/2025 Table No' 1, x2 guests.

Fantastic service and hospitality from the wonderful Martina. Looking forward to returning for the onion rings… and the smile. Definitely worth a visit.

Under Staffed but a great pub and staff

Staying in the Travelodge opposite for the week, popped in for a quick bite to eat. Service was exemplary, first by someone who sorted me a table for 1 and went so far as asking if I'd prefer a quiet corner, which I did (sorry I didn't ask for your name) and then I was handed off to Martina for perfect, speedy service. I wanted to get in and out as quick as possible, not a leisure trip. Had a burger and latte, reasonably priced, good quality and pretty tasty. Will probably go back tomorrow.

Initial surface was lovely. Staff were so friendly and accommodating. They were very welcoming of our 1 1/3 year old son, and this was lovely to see. Unfortunately food was quite a wait, with our mains being roughly 45mins after our starters which with an 18month old was tricky. However your facilities had a good climbing area which he enjoyed. After our mains despite asking for the cheque it was quite a wait (possibly due to a shift change as our waiting staff had now changed). We did tip our table as they liked after us well, it was just some of the waiting time that made some of our visit challenging. Thank you.

The steak was good however the service was really bad they didn’t have anything in and half the things on the menu was unbelievable then when ordering the stake the waitress didn’t tell us they was out of mushrooms lol you can’t add extra spice to any of the meals most of the food is prepackaged and the atmosphere was just not. The staff are quite slow as well and giving you attention and sometimes I know where about we came in the evening on a Saturday and they was out of everything they should of just closed the kitchen

The food was hot, and the service was great. Couldn't have asked for more. There were eight of us, and we all said we would go back.

Food was sent back as steak wasn't up to standard , the service was second to no e ,Martina was brilliant, attentive and always asking if we were ok , she sorted everything for us including me retuning g the steak and bringing us the menu for deserts , Martina is a very attentive employee and makes you feel welcome and takes care of your every need

Had a lovely evening celebrating a birthday, staff were friendly and went above and beyond.

We had a birthday party for 15 people, adults and kids, Service was awesome and food was great, our waitress Jen really went above and beyond.

Dining experience @ the landing light is absolutely perfect, good experience from being greeted by the main booking desk, throughout our whole visit, of ordering food/drinks, the arrival of our orders and the way we were treated and looked after by all the staff who dealt with us were impeccable. We will definitely be visiting again and would highly recommend anyone to visit The Landing Light, be it for a drink with friends, or a full dining experience, I would definitely say ' do it, you won't regret it ' 10/10 👌👍

Food was very good when it eventually arrived, the staff were rushed off their feet, management needs to wake up and employ more people. Would not go again or recommend until this issue is resolved.

Very clean , friendly staff, good atmosphere, food lovely, I had a Sunday roast, it was only warm. I prefer my food to be hot. Lovely selection of desserts. My table was back to back with the kitchen, I did ask, as it felt like a child was constantly kicking the wall, very frustrating and not comfortable . The waitress apologised and said she would relay my comments back. I suppose it must have been a dishwasher?

My wife and I had a meal on 18th Jan 2025 and was served by Courtney. The service was impeccable from start to finish. Although other staff bought our food and drinks, Courtney was out main server and was very attentive, served us with a smile and couldn't have been more helpful. She is an asset to the Landing Light and we hope to return soon.

We have just been to the landing light for a friend’s birthday lunch and I have to say, what an experience! Paul made it such an enjoyable meal! He had us all in absolute stitches throughout with his kind and funny approach. The food was lovely, we all had roast dinners, and service was quick. Big thanks to Paul, we will definitely be back!

Disgusting service. Spent lots of money having a couple of drinks with friends. I'll admit swearing occurred ( which I apologised to a mum of a child to) All ok until my friend got up to go to toilet and the cocky bloke of child had to start again to remind us to stop swearing ( which we had!) but felt it necessary to get in my friends face to tell him so! Obviously not the best thing to do. My friend pushed him back into his seat as he felt intimated. This escalated to the manager/staff getting involved, making things a lot worst than they needed to be, all because they are friends! The manager states he didn't know the couple, they were just customers but all hugged when arrived at pub! We got made to feel like criminals and had to leave the pub! We were in a nice conversation together, yes admittedly swore a little but tried to keep it down once realising a little one was there. Disgusting how we were treated. Food shit too.

Shown to a nice table. We had booked at about 7.55 for 8.00. On way home from my brother-in-laws on the Bournville Estate. It was snowing and easy to access via Haywood Village and of course my email offer of 30% off mains sealed the deal. We ordered a bottle of Qulara Shiraz which we were both very pleased with and would recommend. Our lovely server Martina advised that most of the steaks weren't available so my husband ordered the Chicken Tikka and myself the sea bass. My husband is not usually one to complain but his curry was very dry, so when Martina asked if we were happy with the meal, I mentioned the curry was very dry and asked if there was a little more sauce that could be added. Martina enquired but was told it came in a packet and so extra sauce wasn't available. However, they offered to 'do' another one for him, which he agreed to. The second one was much more moist. My seabass I understood was to come with crushed new potatoes but unfortunately they were just halved new potatoes. Martina was lovely and when given our bill as well the 30%:off mains the Chicken Tikka had not been charged for. To summarise a lovely table and server but not enough care taken over the meals spoiled our experience.

Christmas dinner, amazing service

I accidentally book a non festive table on boxing day and when the staff heard they decorated the table and gave us tge festive table!!! This was above and beyond and made for a wonderful experience. Such lovely staff!!!! Thank you so much!!!

Food not as good as we had last year about the same time. Got served soda instead of tonic, but this was replaced without question. But it's a pleasant atmosphere, staff are friendly.

Circumstances forced us to use The Landing Light and we weren’t overly happy about this. However the meal was somewhat better than expected, the atmosphere was pretty good but the staff one lad apart were really good. Emily however was absolutely superb and this really elevated our experience.

I’d like to say a huge thank you to Mia and the girls for making our Christmas Day so special, with my son and his mummy coming over from Spain, and with his Autism I only get to see him twice a year so thank you. The food was absolutely amazing so huge compliments to the chef. A very special day and nobody could ruin it for us, not even the extremely rude bearded guy behind the bar. Thank you so much.

We have just had a really lovely meal, which was most enjoyable and good value. The atmosphere was relaxed and the service from the team exceptional. Keira who served us was friendly, attentive, and professional and is a credit to the team at the landing light.

Some of the chairs could do with a re do. All the staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. Keira and Paul are so chatty and really make the experience enjoyable.
