CHINA STAR Chinese Takeaway in Rotherham

We had crispy shredded beef and chips x 2. The chips at a Chinese takeaway are normally the best chips, these chips were overcooked and hard. The crispy shredded beef at this takeaway used to be really nice. Last night it was not as good as on previous visits. The food standards seem to have dropped. Almost 24 hours later and I am now suffering with diarrhoea and stomach ache. My friend is also having problems. We will not be ordering from here again!

Called past for our tea while at work. The chips were over cooked, appeared to have been re fried. The crispy beef was overcooked and dry, while the prawn crackers had a strange taste. Today my friend has got diarrhoea and I have an uneasy stomach. Standards have dropped, so I will not be going again.

First time ordering iv never had a Chinese before and omg this was absolutely amazing great food excellent delivery. Money well spent will be ordering here all the time loved it for first time

Friendly staff and food is good. Shame the online menu states 2019 meaning menu and prices are well out of date 🤔

Young man at the front desk was very polite, food was amazing and at a very affordable price. 10/10 love this place

Singapore chow mien spot on. I try different Chineses All the time searching for the best. I can honestly say ,, this was 10/10

Used the be a regular here and was one the best take-aways in town. Not been for a while as moved out of the area. Tried again tonight and it was awful. Dry rice, soggy prawn cracker and chips that would kill somebody if thrown. I don't know how you're getting away with it, absolute rubbish.

Have the chefs changed or something? Because the last couple of times we’ve had it from you guys it’s been absolutely awful… very disappointed as you were our favourite Chinese but no longer will we be using you l.

Used to rate this take away but now it’s is just terrible the food is bland and greasy and the amount of onions is just outrageous even the chips are rubbish, steer clear

Fantastic meal again, the Kung Po was absolutely perfect ! 5 stars indeed

Odered at 625 and at 820 still no food

Cant fault the food at all but someone really needs to learn how to tell the time & read the notes that can be left at the time of the order.

Just ordered from here we had 1/2 of a £45 order phoned to tell them they told me to pack the order up I must have wrong 1 the driver came with another person's order clearly not ours so I phoned to tell them only to be told jus phone " just eat and complain!" SERIOUSLY

Had food twice from here, wont be a third. Undercooked, plain. Very VERY disappointing. Definitely will not waste my money on food from here again.... Ive honestly had better from freezer shop and bunged in microwave.... oh and seriously calm down with the massive amount of crunchy greasy onions!!

Ugh . Used to love china star. Theyve recently changed owners and its gone a bit dodgy. Salt and chilli chips so bland. Pancake roll soggy and flavourless and the szechuan special looked like someone in the kitchen had got overexcited and done something in my food. Thick and like jelly 😢 so sad as we used to love it

Wow! Not had from here for a while... Used to rate it highly... Tonight different story. The chicken dry and tough as an old boot... The sauces were watery and everything g was compensated with onions! The bbq sauce was like piss watter! What on earth has happened here? Won't use again I'm afraid

Orderd chicken curry like always and was disgusted to only get 4 pieces of chicken in it and rest was just onions. Very disappointed

Absolutely appalling service from China star!! We waited 50 minutes for our order to turn up to them only fetch half they said they would get the remaining to us, 20 minutes had pasted and the delivery man came back to yet again still not all our order!! How the women on the phone had the cheek to say we never ordered it when in fact we know we did !! All this because they were closing disgusting ! Was always a regular customer will not order from here again
