China Red in Mansfield

Been using this takeaway for the past 5 yr. Always been good food and top service. Tonight the service was excellent as always. The food on the other hand... Big shame every dish was pure salt!!! All food thrown and having a sandwich.. Not sure what has happened to the restaurant?

Tried their food at a friends, so was over the moon that they deliver as far as Rainworth. It arrived fresh, and piping hot. It was even better than I remembered, and the portion sizes were amazing ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Good quantities...fast order ..However I ordered special chowmein and a chicken chowmein both tasted exactly the same very very salty no flavour apart from tasted like soy in the special chowmein non of the meat tasted any different wouldn't recommend this dish ..but not tried anything else so carnt comment on other dishers quite disappointing 😕

Sadly the food here has gone down hill, last few times we've ordered it the food hasn't been nice, i had my gfs family try it in Forest town over their local Chinese as i said it was better just for it to turn up and be poor especially for over £40, sadly the quality no longer matches the price and i think a lot of people will start looking at others.

Top tier Chinese, I live about 3 miles away and it only took 25 mins from placing order befor the food was at my door. Super speedy and hot n fresh Staff are really polite I haven't been in to the site so am unable to rate the atmosphere

Food very bland, chilli beef smelt and tasted like fish, very dry and no sauce, won’t be using again.

Food was very bland. Chips were very overcooked and the egg fu Yung tasted like fish . Been a few times and every time food is discussing.10/10 would not recommend to anyone.

This is the best Chinese food I have ever had. Their China Red Special Fried Rice (the one in a sauce) is absolutely amazing. I highly recommend.

After many years of being a loyal customer I have to sadly update my review. The food is consistently excellent, and China Red is my favourite Chinese in Mansfield bar none. Service is great and the delivery times are always quick. The food is always hot and delicious and, in the past 5+ years and 100s of meals enjoyed I cannot remember a bad order. However it has now become so expensive and is frankly very overpriced. This will sadly only make loyal customers go elsewhere.

Order a meal for 5 of us by telephone. Very polite and helpful. Food was delivered piping hot and was absolutely delicious and plenty of it.. All of us agreed it was money well spent and we would definitely order from China Red again . 5 VERY satisfied customers. Thank you China Red.

Diabolical tonite! Firstly delivered with half the contents swilling about in the delivery bag! Also driver couldn’t find has address instructions were left in comments but were written in Chinese!When opened to serve out for our guests,Singapore fried rice had got shrimp and pork in the ingredients but they had managed to keep the ‘heat’ down has requested,as when I rang to tell them I was told the special options box hadn’t been filled in! The heat from the Singapore fried rice had been saved for the Japanese mixed meat udon,inedible! Come on chia red this is not of your usual standard

Very poor curry this evening. Rice was like jelly and this only means, very poor quality grade of rice. Phoned in and complained but said rice was OK. Beef curry we ordered but was more like mushroom curry. Poor curry and we didn't enjoy it so in the bin it went. Not be using again after so many years. Bye bye CR.

Our order came to £29.00 31 with delivery definitely wasn't worth it ....Dry satay chicken no sauce .... very dry straight in the bin, chips over cooked quarter duck very dry slimey cucumber.. majority went in the bin definitely won't order from here again

So glad back up and running! The best chinese takeaway in the area by a country mile. Had a fairly big pre-order on day one that arrived on time, piping hot and absolutely delicious. Was worried about it given the three months on hiatus but totally didn't need to be. Will be back again very soon!

Google says they are open, website says they are closed and won't take orders. Went elsewhere, sorry. EDIT, China Red have replied to say that they are closed temporarily due to a fire. I would like to wish them well and look forward to the Grand reopening. ❤

Didn't really enjoy the meal. Chicken not crispy , lemon dip too watery. Rice too dry.

Glad they are back open. Tried different places during the lockdown, none of which where even close to China reds quality. We order every week and its always great and arrives hot.

Well was told 30 minutes wait but been waiting outside now for an hour and still waiting I do understand that they are extremely busy but they need to be a little more honest with the waiting times because we certainly wouldn't have placed the order!

many delicious and delightful dishers. I'm not a keen fan of the gravy though in their English meals. Its too runny and a tad too sweet.

placed the same order from china red 4 times in the past 14 month and every time the food has been poor,the chips seem to have been re-heated,the prawn balls were beyond crispy,too hard to chew,the beef in the beef chow main didnt taste like beef at all,seemed slimy,the only thing i couldnt complain about was the rice,seems a shame because i would have used this establishment more often if the quality of the food was up to scratch.i think if after 4 orders something isnt right,then i cant be wrong,big thumbs down china red.

Regular customer for a good few yrs 1hr delivery over 2hrs later no show,always tip the delivery driver,no point ,tried to phone not answer,else where in the future.

We order a takeaway most weeks and I usually have the Mongolian beef which used to be fantastic. This week our food was nowhere near as nice and tasty so we rang up to be told there were new owners so it looks like we have to find a new place now. Very disappointing.

I go passed two other Chinese takeaways to go here. The food tastes nice and has good sized portions. My favourite in Ilkeston.
