I have eaten from this shop for over 40yrs it’s a family run takeaway and the food is like the proprietors fantastic you can’t want for a more authentic and delicious Chinese meal ! Well worth the money “once you’ve eaten here you will be back the foods that good”

Very disappointed in the quantity and quality of the meal, it not worth all the hype will not be going there again

We tried it the first day we moved on in the UK, we had nothing in our apartment and we were "omg it's so late what we can eat with no plates and no forks ???!" We went to China kitchen and seriously it was one of our fav !! Miss our meal for three !! 🇫🇷

Tried this Chinese takeaway for a change and had very high hopes as it gets so busy and high rated reviews but sadly didn't live up to the hype. Curry sauce is quite sweet, chips are awful like rubber but the rest we had was alright. I've had far worse but it didn't leave me wanting to come back in a hurry. Service is great lovely lady who took my order and very friendly atmosphere amongst the people waiting for their orders. I wouldn't put anyone off going here but it is sadly average like many in and around the surrounding area.

I read the reviews, which said dry food, dry ribs etc, I was a little undecided and I tried to order my food anyway. And it was delicious, the fried food wasn't drowned in oil, the onions were perfect and didn't swim in the liquid mixed with oil, and so I asked myself why? Then I remembered that here if they don't have sauces for everything and the food doesn't resemble what Homer Simpson ate to gain weight, they're not happy! Rating 5⭐️ congratulations

Went here for the first time on a Saturday night. Our usual Chinese takeaway has closed so I thought I would give this place a go. SO glad I did. Not only was the food absolutely delicious, but the lady who took my order was so lovely and friendly. As I sat there waiting (not for too long) for my order, people were coming in and out who obviously go there a lot and she welcomed all of them like old friends. Such a lovely atmosphere and great value for money. I will certainly order from here again and this will be our new usual. Highly recommend.

The food at china kitchen has legitimately reignited my love for food. By far the best Chinese in Cardiff and the owners are absolutely lovely. Couldn't recommend more

On many occasions have ordered meals for an agreed time with the staff but always fail to have food ready. Not talking a few minutes but 20 minutes plus

My favorite Chinese food in Cardiff, always hot and freshly cooked with great taste and reasonably well priced, you can also get a bottle of wine or a beer to go with it.

I prefer this takeaway to the others in the area. I have had orders mixed up in the past but they have been very good at putting things right. I highly recommend you give them a try and see if you enjoy the food as much as myself.

Very good food. My ideal take on the crispy beef wouldn't be the same as this place but it's pretty good.

Always was (and still is) excellent value

Food well over an hour late even though ordered 2 hours prior to collection. Then to top things off when i got back home and dished out to the rest of the family one portion of chips was missing

The special fried rice was very disappointing....it was soggy and wettish...and no pinky sauce on it..a bit bland too..most unusual!!

The man that takes the orders is such a lovely person, so genuine and wholesome (sorry for not asking your name!) The food is absolutely delicious! They clearly do not cut corners when it comes to flavour or ingredients. I recommend the hot and sour soup and the cashew chicken 🖤🍜

Had a take out meal, I collected it. Special fried rice, soft noodles, barbecue sauce and prawn crackers. It was ready when they said. Place clean and the food was great. I would definitely eat here again, in fact it's the best chinese meal I have had in a long while. The staff were friendly which is always a plus.

Excellent sweet and sour chicken balls, delicious chicken with mushrooms in a black bean sauce. Yung chow rice was good, but a bit too hammy for my taste

Have been having food from here since i was 16,when living in Dr barnardos, now in my 50s, and still enjoying meals from China kitchen, highly recommended, best Chinese in Cardiff, great size portions and very tasy food, especially the Singapore fried rice, best curry sauce and bbq sauce in Cardiff, can't wait to get my order tonight!

Haven't been here for about 20 years as moved away from area. One word AMAZING, cant believe its been so long since back. Must make the effort now to go back more often. The chicken curry was to die for yummy.

Food is good except this time chicken was so dry and old couldn't eat ended up in the bin.

This is the only Chinese I will eat from, been a customer here for nearly 30 yrs and would very highly recommend, staff are lovely, food is AMAZING, i travel quite a way to collect, you would never be disappointed

Nice food, pleasant and friendly service

The person who is taking the order when this review is being written (9.45 pm 18 jan 2020) was not able to understand the order on phone. We got sliced boneless chicken instead of whole chicken (with bone). When we enquired the reason she just said "we don't do it". Common it is written on your menu and you gave us wrong food.

It was my local in late 80s. Still stellar and ive tried hundreds in UK and nothing comes close. Special fried rice and a tub of sweet and sour sauce is a world class plate of food and highly recommended for under £10 pp.

A birthday take away, the special curry was runny gravy, the crispy beef was dry and crunchy with no sauce. We threw it away barely eaten the next day.

Absolutely amazing food my favourite Chinese!

My usual Chinese takeaway was closed so tried China kitchen as reviews seemed to be really good, so I was expecting something amazing but it did sadly disappoint, ribs were so dry, and generally food was bland and tasteless. But on the good side prawn toast was so moreish and one of the best I've ever tasted

Not as good as people make out. Ribs are dry even though they a in a sauce. Not for me👎🏾

Haven't been here for a couple of years as they were always late (pick up) Happy to report another family member went there a couple of weeks ago and the food came out on time and was very nice. Same again tonight, the food came out on time and was delicious, I'll be back again!

Fantastic chinese and iv had a few over the years now this is the only place I would get it from . The owners are also very friendly you just won't get a better chinese anywhere.

I love China Kitchen. My dad has been coming here for at least 35 years and I have no issue with traipsing 20 minutes away from home (and past 2 other Chinese takeaways) in order to get food. Best to telephone orders through on the weekend as it does get busy but midweek maybe just a 15-20 minute wait should you just turn up, if that.

Waited 1 hour 15 minutes for a telephone order. When I went to collect it people arrived and ordered after me but were served first. They didn't give two hoots about the poor service either!
