Chimichangos in Cheshire East

Recommended by a friend who lives local. Been meaning to go for a while, went Saturday 20/04/24. Having not had Mexican since a trip to San Diego CA last year wanted to sample again. Was not disappointed. The service was spot. Waitress very helpful telling us about the different dishes. Checked back twice that our food was ok. The restaurant is full of colour great attention to detail with the wall decorations & decor. We had Dirty Nachos to share that was amazing followed by a piri piri chicken burrito. It was a “gut buster” full of favour. Very good value for money for both food and drink. my partner and I loved it will cannot wait to go back. muchas gracias, volveremos. Tim. S Cheshire.

Lovely, atmospheric Mexican, great food and a good choice. Excellent service

First time trying this place after walking past the restaurant. All the food was very spicy however it was tasty - we got the burrito and chimichanga however they both looked and tasted the same which was unusual. The tacos to start had Parmesan type cheese on which dried them up but again they tasted okay. Personally we wouldn’t go back as its wasn’t the best Mexican we have had along side the likes of Barburrito but overall it was a nice atmosphere - lots of kids who seemed to enjoy it too with their sombreros !

First time dining here will definitely be back the food was spot on. Flavoursome and plentiful, stunning. The staff were great and the Mexican mule drink is honestly my new favourite drink. Great experience, the management should be proud.

Absolutely beautiful food good atmosphere and pleasant staff

As a group of 4 we had a wonderful meal at this restaurant, it's only quite small inside but it's decorated in Mexican style which really adds to the atmosphere. It's got a really good menu with plenty of choice for starters & mains. We had the dirty nachos to start & boy there were so good but couldn't finish them as you get a really generous portion. The mains are also fantastic as we all chose something different & struggled to finish those, but we're bagged up for lunch the following day 😂 The staff are very helpful & the service was fantastic I can't wait to return to try something else on the menu, just sorry I didn't take some photos to share with you, if you visit you won't be disappointed.

This is a lovely little place. The atmosphere feels authentically Mexico with the decor and the music. The food we had was amazing better than many other Mexican food restaurants we have been. Staff where also friendly and quick service loved everything we had.

Delicious meal once again. Everything tasted really good, portions were really generous. Cocktails were amazing. Staff ever so friendly and helpful. We have been every month or so since 2020, never had a bad meal. Highly recommended.

Nice portions I can't complain about that but you have to like Mexican food to fully appreciate somewhere like this?

Food was great, fantastic service from initial enquiry all the way through to the meal. Authentic food, spicy beef blew my doors off but the flavour was incredible. Sombreros for the whole group, These guys went the extra mile. Will definitely be returning in the future. Also the churros were banging

Been a while but the quality professionalism and ambience are still top notch met up with a couple friends for a midweek treat one friend was her first time having heard all the good things she was very impressed to say the least. Stuffed jalapenos starter chicken quesadilla and ice cream to finish and took advantage of the reduced bottle beer. We aren’t one to really leave reviews however, we visited here for the first time last night after recently moving to the area and loved it! Portion sizes and the food itself were great, as was the atmosphere! We had starters so ended up taking some of our mains away because we were that full, which wasn’t a problem with the staff! The two girls that served us and the owner were lovely too. Already cant wait to visit again and make sure we have room for churros next time! Thanks again!

Amazing experience, from the staff to the decor through to the food, could not be better.

Came in on spec on a Friday night, they were full but offered us a table for an hour and a half if we wanted it between bookings. We accepted and because of the efficient service were able to enjoy a delicious two course meal without feeling we were rushing our meal. The food was exceptional and just what was needed, we'd travelled a long way for a family funeral and this was a lovely end to what had been a long and at times difficult day. Thank you.

Food was lovely and the atmosphere was great. Maybe an extra member of front of house would have made it even better.

2nd visit and again this superb place did not disappoint. The service went above and beyond for a table of 8 with differing needs and nothing was too much trouble. Fantastic food ensuring we will be back!

We have been here several times in the past and always been impressed with the food but Last night we returned for the first time In a while and were blown away not only with the quality of the food, (we both had burritos that were absolutely amazing with equally tasty sides) but the staff were fantastic, service was excellent and the whole restaurant while being compact and cosy is constantly filled efficiently with many covers over the evening. We will be back soon

Hands down the best Mexican I have been to, food is superb, great choice, reasonably priced, lovely staff - my husband's favourite restaurant!

Haven’t been here for many years. The place maybe small but brilliant! (Went with another couple.) we were greeted straight away by the owner. Drinks order taken quickly. The boys wanted two jugs of beer and he was very quick to say one jug at a time to keep it cold 👍 never had to wait for top ups. Great music. Great food - we all had different things and everyone was impressed. Another great thing is even though it was busy. We could here each other. Sounds silly but when at a certain age some places can drowned out your voices. Finally the price is good value too. We will definitely be going back - well done!!!

Love Chimichangos - a wonderful vibrant restaurant with happiness, smiles and amazing value food. The sides of Mexican potatoes and corn on the cob are my favourites. The more traditional burger is delicious and chicken enchilada full of flavour - keep going Chimis - you are amazing

Been in this Evening for My Hubbys birthday… Food was brilliant.. great atmosphere… We especially liked the nachos, the Salsa was clearly homemade and tasted Amazing!!!!!!!! The waitress was very lovely and attentive. We even got a big sparkler for our birthday pudding which the Kids LOVed!!! Thank you very much. We will be back again.. even if it is just for the Salsa! 😋

Why would a restaurant turn away customers? Came in at 6:30 was told sorry were fully booked and would not let me Oder take away!! There was one table… one. Not good business. Wish I could tell you how the food was. But. Edit to owner: I know this, if a restaurant turns away hungry customers they’re likely to get a bad review. No one likes to be hungry. It’s even worse if you have a craving! I’ve eaten in hundreds of restaurants and I’ve never had this happen. If full/busy they will offer take away to avoid a bad review. It’s your business to feed people. You really should think about you take away protocol. After Covid it’s even more important to have that sorted. And not make people order several hours in advance, that is silly.

Absolutely great night for our daughters birthday last night, the service is outstanding, Jason and his team always go the extra mile. The food is just gorgeous, freshly cooked ingredients that makes for very well presented filling meals.Drinks a plenty and lots and lots of choice.The atmosphere as always very Mexican feel and the surroundings and decor, its like lil old town Mexico of Middlewich. Book a table now you won't regret it. If 1 could give it 10 stars 🌟 🤩 I would!

What a great place! The staff are friendly and helpful. We had vegans in our party and the choice for them was excellent and the food was amazingly good. The decor is fun too.

Tony and the staff work extremely hard and I was impressed at how efficient they are with clearing plates, serving food and making sure that everything is okay. The whole place had a very warm and friendly atmosphere and the portion sizes were perfect. It's definitely somewhere you should consider going to.

Absolute joke came here especially for a Mexican and detoured here on the way to our hotel to find 6 empty tables but they wouldn't serve us as they had a party of 6 coming in and the chef said no! Won't bother trying again as I have never been treated like this before in a restaurant!

I would certainly recommend Chimichangos . Had such a lovely night. The lady who served us (wish I had got her mane) was amazing. The service was excellent & she couldn’t do enough for us. The food was lovely and can also recommend the cocktails & the sangria, I’ve never been before but will certainly be back.

Not our first time visiting…and will definitely not be our last. Incredible food! Great atmosphere and fab service. We can not fault this place. It’s a favourite for all the family from 6 to 60 years old. I have a special needs son and this is his all time favourite restaurant. Our favourite comment from him being “if Gordon Ramsey came here he would have nothing to complain about” Never a true word spoken. Best Mexican we have ever visited!

Party of 4, we only live couple of miles away, was our first visit. Absolutely fantastic, the food , service. Could not be faulted. Will defo be going back in the near future.

Had a wonderful meal here tonight! The service was great, very attentive and friendly and food was lovely. I booked the table for our 1 year anniversary and had completey forgotten that I had mentioned that in my email when I reserved the table.. After our meal we were presented with a dessert with a sparkle, I was so impressed with the gesture and that they had taken note of the occasion. I moved to the local area just before covid hit and first tried their food via take away during lockdown. The food was delicious and very good value for money. Once the restaurant was back open myself and my new husband came regularly for our date night. He's a chef so this was always mid week but I have also visited with friends at the weekends. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere, service is always fantastic and food full of flavour. My husband is a massive fan of the cocktails. We eloped abroad so were after somewhere to host a family meal. GIven its one of our favourite restaurants and Mexican is our favourite cuisine Chimichangos felt like the perfect option. We unfortunately got delayed in getting back from our holiday and they were kind enough to allow us to move the date. We had a set menu of sharing patters and they threw in extra sides. The portions were plentiful and lots of our family members commented on how good the food was and are exicited to go back. The lovely waitresses and waiter were SO patient with us. The combination of 29 people, lots of whom had drank quite abit, road closures dealing to half the party arriving late didnt seem the phase them. We had no realised how late it had got but they didn't rush out at the door at all. The sombreros kept everyone entertained seeing how many they would get on their heads! I'd most definitely recommend to anyone considering a cute date night, catch up with friends or a family gathering. I look forward to returning regularly, the menu has so many options and the food never disappoints so hopefully il make my way through it! This is my 2nd time at this stunning little Mexican restaurant. The food is absolutely spectacular. I had the Street Tacos to start with crispy chilli beef, so fresh and tasty! I then had a Chilli Beef Burrito along with Peppered garlic Mushrooms and Fried potatoes which were cooked to perfection and so filling. We will defo be back!

We live locally to Chimichangos and absolutely love it here. Never a bad visit - the food is absolutely delicious and loads to choose from. They also do a great range of cocktails! I usually go for the Chimichanga which is unreal, and on my most recent visit had some yummy tacos and halloumi. The service is slow but everything else totally makes up for it! Would definitely recommend.

Absolute superb experience! We had our 20th wedding anniversary 3rd August & the staff made us feel special. The food was amazing & the cocktails & a lovely anniversary cake for dessert were fabulous! The two young waitresses were fantastic. Credit to the chefs too. Well worth a visit!

We went last night 30 july22 and we had a fantastic experience, the service was first class and the food was excellent and very authentic. Our server was amazing and couldn’t do enough to make my birthday a memorable one. Thanks so much for making my day one I will remember for a long time. I would definitely recommend this little gem. We came with quite low expectations because Mexican food is hard to veganise. We weren't disappointed - we were amazed! The food quality, portions and vegan alternatives were BRILLIANT! The service was good too - considering how few staff there were and how busy they were. Will DEFINITELY be back again!

As always amazing food so much choice for Vegas, with choice of vegi chilli, Jack fruit and 3 different flavours of quorn in the usual mains. Never disappointed here and the coronarita is a must

Had a lovely time with the friends from work . Our friend was 60 . The meals were lovely . And the staff and service was great . The only thing we all found that the menus definitely need up dating as we couldn't read them . The writing on them was that small . You needed a magnifying glass to read them .

We have ordered food from there and it's lovely but nothing beats actually eating there. The atmosphere is great and lively. The staff were very friendly as well from when my husband was booking to the servers on last night for Mother's Day. The food is absolutely delicious and has generous portion sizes. I definitely recommend here and will absolutely come again.

Awful what a disappointment we went with friends on Saturday night, the two girls were very pleasant but we could not read the menu as it was too dark so the suggestion was to ‘take a screenshot on one’s phone’ to enable us to read the menu! We ordered and the food looked very presentable until we started to enjoy it, the chilli content was far too extreme to the point whereby myself and one of my friends could not manage the meal. The table next to us were complaining about the fact that they had booked for s special occasion but could not order sweets due to the fact that the chef had ‘left the building’ locking in the two girls and therefore no further food could be ordered. I’m not sure whether the restaurant has changed hands but last time we went it was lovely, hence why we booked again. Shame, it’s a pleasant venue with pleasant staff, over hot food and lack of flexibility on the part of the chef/owner lets it down.

Ate here with friends last night, after having had a fabulous meal here previously Very disappointing They were using temporary printed out paper menus, (which they advised us of when we complained that, due to the poor lighting and 'unusual ' font, we were unable to see the menu adequately) Staff advised us to look at the menu online so that we could enlarge it?! My beef chilli enchilada was SO spicy that it was painful trying to eat it. The accompanying mex coleslaw and salad had so many finely sliced chillies in them that it was impossible to remove some of them as respite from the extreme heat. 2 of my friends had the Quorn chimichangas Same issues, so hot that practically inedible! I love hot and spicy food, grow and cook with my own homegrown super hot chillies, however, I had to admit defeat with my meal I politely requested whether I could exchange my main course for something milder I was informed that all the sauces were pre made, therefore, all the same level of heat? I was offered a chicken and cheese wrap, which when it came was ridiculously bland? Obviously a shop bought wrap and the whole point was that I did not want a 'wrap', just a less spicy enchilada I was so disappointed, ( and hungry), that I requested that the charge for my main course was removed from the bill? This resulted in the staff making telephone calls to the manager , as they did not appear to be on the premises, which made us feel very uncomfortable as we could hear the conversations. One of the waiting on staff then 'rolled' her eyes and stated that the food was 'mexican' I advised her that I have eaten mexican food in many different locations previously, in fact, one of my favourite cuisines, however, that I had never encountered these issues before? There was a large table of customers celebrating a special birthday sat immediately behind us They were advised that they could not order desserts as the chef left the kitchen at 9.30 pm, ( this was at approx 9.20),? The exit to the restaurant was locked, due to there only being 2 young female staff on the premises at this point, and we had to ask them to unlock the door before we could leave I understand the impact of Covid on the hospitality industry/ post Covid staffing issues, and have made every effort to support small local businesses throughout It was not the fault of the 2 young female staff in the restaurant, and I did tell them this The fault lies with the owners/ chef What restaurant closes at 9.30 pm on a Saturday evening and the chef goes home? Bulk hot sauces made and unable to cater for milder spiced dishes? Very disappointed, and we will NOT be returning.

Nice spicy food well worth a visit, the lady serving (Morgan) had such a nice demeanor as well, really looked after us and considering she was on her own with us and a large table of 7, she did exceptionally well. Kept on coming over to make sure we were OK and apologising that we had had to wait (which truly we hadnt) The restaurant is slap bang in the middle of the high street with parking outside (including disabled). Its built around a friendly ethos and has been her for many years, it's a funky fun place to be. Cost wise we had the three course option with cocktails wine and beer and it came to 50 quid for two of us which was brill.

Stopped here on the way to the Harry Potter forbidden forest event in Northwich. Stumbled across this place. Was absolutely blown away, food was incredible some of the best Mexican I've ever had. Service was great and with a smile. Absoloutely loved the place. Live in London but will be back one day Keep up the great work!

Best to book in advance as its tiny as are a lot of places in Middlewich - and if you order a dish that comes with the 2 free sides definitely choose the "bit of everything" option, we did and they are all delicious! Oh and if they have churros make sure you get some (we got them to go as we were stuffed lol) you won't regret it!!!

Following a long days chugging on the canal we stopped at Middlewich and had a lovely meal at Chimichango's, which had a special that night of a free Natcho's starter which was massive itself, they had a freezer break down so snot to waste probably sensibly thought not have to throw it away best give it away. Next our lovely meals seen attached, only a small thing but some of the meal mainly the garlic mushrooms were a little bit too salty for me. To top it off a free pud of Chimichang which were beautiful we were fit to burst as we left. The waitresses wo works Fridays is Kirby she was lovely and great fun and made it a wonderful evening. Would go back again just hope the salt was a one off.

We're big fans of Mexican food but there really isn't much choice closer to us - although Loco in Nantwich will hopefully fill that void. If it doesn't though, we're more than happy to trek that bit further into Middlewich for this brilliant Mexican! One...

We'd been meaning to visit since we moved to the area, as we love Mexican food. The restaurant itself is cosy with a real family run feel. It's not a big place so I would advise booking early to avoid dissapointment. The food itself is excellent, with a good variety of styles. The Nacho portions are decivingly large- the image attached is of the 2 person sharing portion but I'd hazard that it'd happily feed 3 or 4 people. We opted for the Quesadilla and loved every mouthful. All dishes come with a choice of sides but if you can finish all of it, you're doing really well! We will definitely be going back!
