Chilli Club in Warrington

Have lived in Lymm for 20 years and over the years enjoyed our meals at the Chilli Club, even enjoying the takeaways during lockdown!. However, being honest our last couple of visits have not been the usual standard and our most recent visit in February was not great, some of the meal was good and it is still popular but having enjoyed real Thai food I find the quality in the Chilli Club is slipping!. Why no papaya salad? found at least one other dish sloppy with a thick bland source. I have always recommended this restaurant to friends but questioning it now!. Perhaps the Manager and chef need to sit down and be honest about their offering. Recently had a meal in a Thai restaurant in St Helens which was far superior and another in Newton le Willows which offers a real authentic menu/taste experience!. Anyway, still a pleasant evening but instead of risking a different dish, it would be selecting the old faithful like Thai Green Curry but even that does not include the pea aubergine which makes so much difference. Better to be honest, but if I need a Thai meal in the future I would probably drive to one of the others.

Used to visit a lot post covid but the food is always up and down. If you order on a Friday evening it tends to be the best but later in the weekend or earlier in the week the prawn crackers will be stale and the meals lack some of the key components (e.g no Tofu in the Pad Thai)

We were greeted by the door and shown to our seats, drinks were ordered and shortly after food was ordered, it wasn't long when the food came, piping hot and very tasty, service was excellent and staff were very helpful,would definitely recommend this place 😀 😋

Popped in early. Initially quiet, but custom built up, despite it being mid week. Food and service excellent. No hesitation in reccomending a visit. We will certainly return.

Liked it so much that I have booked for a small family party in April. If it is as good as before there will be a very happy table.

Not sure why this place doesn't have many recent reviews, but we've been twice in the past few months and the food has been absolutely amazing. The chicken massaman, crispy chicken dish with cashew nuts and pad thai dishes were all delicious. The staff are very friendly and attentive. The only criticism I would have is that you can't book a table online and have to call, but this isn't that big a deal. We love Thai food and this is easily the best Thai restaurant in Warrington.

Would recommend trying their fried rice in a pinaple. Was so flavoursome and also served beautifully :) staff was lovely as well and they even let us in few minutes before opening so we could sit in warm :) the other dish - flat noodles in gravy was also delicious :) we're hoping to come back soon. Prices are very reasonable for the quality and quantity of food that you get :)

Took friends. Wasn’t the best by any means. Pad Thai missing peanuts and lime. When I informed waitress she brought the smallest bowl of chilli and crushed peanuts. Tasteless. Ribs were dry. Staff never came to ask how meal was. Although local to us won’t be taking friends again.On a positive Bottled water was very nice.

Visited this restaurant yesterday and to say I was disappointed would be an understatement. The food was very bland, not much taste compared to other Thai restaurants. Felt I could have cooked better myself at home. I had ribs to start and they were very dry and lacked taste. Service was not great either, all in all a rather disappointing visit and won’t go again.

Excellent every time. Why this place isn't busy all the time it baffles me. By far the best food in Lymm. Would recommend the pad kra pao Thai style with crispy fried egg. And the prawn curry/ and crispy fish! Papaya salad is also a must!! Great service always - especially by our waiter Roger who was exceptional!

Very disappointed this evening, asked for no meat in my dish, got home and i had eaten half of it when i realised there was small pieces of shredded chicken hiding amongst my veggies. Not happy! Wont be ordering again!

Great food, however service was a little inattentive and the restaurant is over due a refurbishment. Otherwise 5 stars.

The food here is fairly good, I had the Massaman Curry and it was piping hot and very tasty. But one member of our group couldn't eat the fried chicken and cashew nut as the it was quite hard and tough. The restaurant did refund us for this dish. Service was the worst we've had in a while. Surly, miserable waiter who, when I asked if I could have a vegetable side dish instead of rice just said a curt, "No" and didn't explain why even though there were vegetables in all the main dishes. You mean the chef couldn't have given me a plate of stir fried greens? The lady waiter was pleasant and smiled but the male waiters had no table manners and instead of bringing our plates to each of us, handed them out at the head of the table and expected us to pass it all down. One of us could have been scalded. A good waiter will bring each dish to the person individually. The staff need some serious training in customer service. We were also not offered hot hand towels after the meal to clean our hands, most of us had finger food for starters. Needless to say, the place was practically empty on a Friday night, a time when most restaurants are packed to the gills. And I'm not surprised. We didn't have a good experience and won't visit again. I hate to leave a harsh review but if management don't listen to their customers, they won't have a successful restaurant.

By far the best food in lymm. I go regularly to the Chilli Club and believe it really isn't celebrated enough! Favourites are the king prawns with green beans, chicken and cashew nuts and the pad gaprao, Thai style! If you ask they do it they way you have it in Thailand ( with a fried egg) Amazing! X

We went to The Chilli club in Lymm with friends who live in the village in November and we were disappointed. Fish cakes came in small portions and quite salty. Mussaman curry was lack of aroma and too sweet. Thai fried noodles with chicken was very greasy and bland. We were expecting to get an authentic Thai food but we had British style Thai food instead. It was a very expensive meal and very sweet and greasy foods. It wasn’t the kind of Thai food we had in Thailand.

Great food produced and served by a wonderful staff. Always so calm and caring. The beers are excellent as are the desserts.

Massaman was absolutely delicious and well worth a visit just for this. The place is very bland though. The table presentation is poor considering where the restaurant is and the prices. Not that the prices are over the top, but I’d expect a table cloth or something and not just a table on its own. Not sure if this is a Covid precaution or not, other places I’ve eaten recently have been much better. The staff are friendly enough, maybe a couple of them could smile more and look like they enjoy their job. The only other downside was the huge gang of youths hanging around outside and in the village itself. Foul-mouthed anti-social. This certainly doesn’t help the local businesses. I will return as the food was really nice, just a shame about the blandness and lack of atmosphere.

Food here is competent as British high street-type Thai food goes. The chicken and cashew nut stirfry is lovely and nicely crispy, though the Massaman was disappointing and lacking in authentic fragrance and flavour. The mixed starter was tasty enough, but nothing special. I would have enjoyed it so much more however had it not been for the gloomy interior, with zero attempt at any cosiness whatever: in fact it's the most stark, bare dining environment I have ever been in. We almost walked out after being shown to the table, but we had booked and didn't want to offend... If they could just see that it would be relatively simple and not that costly to transform the atmosphere by investing in a bit of warm lighting, colour, flowers etc. Even if the food had been stellar, I still wouldn't want to return here. Such a pity!

Amazing quality thai food. We have recently had no kitchen and we have visiited the Chilli Club a few more times than usual, and the food there is always superb. Don't forget to try their banana fritters for dessert, as they are by far the best we've ever eaten! Thanks so much.

We have dined in a number of times as we live in Lymm. The food and service has always been consistently good. We recently brought our Indian friends for lunch, who were visiting from Solihull. They were blown away by the layers of indochina flavour and variety of dishes. Well presented and tasted equally great. I am a lover of umami (the 6th magic flavour) and I can taste it in the food. As usual, the ambience of the place is well done and lines up with the natural charm and beauty of Lymm village.

We have visited twice recently and both times the food has been excellent. We'll done. Not kept waiting for ages as we are in some places, food fresh and very flavoursome. The ribs were excellent and very meaty I had chicken cashew nut stir fry, it was wonderful, friend hat Thai red chicken curry, an explosion of flavour. Thankyou

Friendly restaurant with good food send pleasant service. We are on a boat on the Bridgewater canal and visit every time we are in the area.

Great food, we have a take away as a treat every now and again when the kids are at their grandparents. We would have it more often if they opened earlier at 5 instead of 6.

Have eaten here on numerous occasions with the family. Tonight was special as it was a wedding anniversary dinner. Extremely disappointed. Service was very very slow, and not one of the 5 in our party enjoyed the meal. All the mains were really greasy, left a nasty after taste . When we complained, they offered to replace the meals but given we all had the same problem with different meals there seemed little point! Their solution was to knock £10 of the bill. Sad to say but this was most definitely our last visit to this place….. with hind sight we should have realised there was a problem as we were the only customers in the place!

Lovely Thai restaurant! Tasty food, great service and very clean inside. Felt very safe with plastic deviders between tables, provided hand sanitizer and staff wearing masks all the time. A pot of tea/£4.8 is a bit much though.

Superb Thai restaurant with a really good reputation locally. The stir-fried chicken with cashew nuts is a classic. Very efficient take-away service continues to operate since the lock-down, but the restaurant is now open for dining.

Not a bad Thai, cosy atmosphere, food is decent. But the staff are quite slow, they forgot we where waiting to order, we had to wave to get their attention and remind them that we where waiting. Even thou we where basically next to the bar.

Excellent food. The restaurant was spotlessly clean, well organised and safe. Screens between tables, sanitiser on entry and contact details taken. Felt really safe!!

I have visited the Chilli club on several occasions but have never taken the time to review! I visited here for the first time in around a year, and I am happy to report it is as good as ever. They have taken extra precautions to ensure customer safety which includes perspex between a number of tables, disposable menus and the staff in PPE. Staff were also disinfecting tables between covers which was reassuring to see! The food here is sublime. Their mixed starter is always a winner, but the real star of the menu has to be the chicken and cashew nuts. Every time we visit here, we always get it. And every last bit of it is gone by the end of our meal. It truly is worth the visit just to taste this!! The staff are always friendly and attentive, the food arrives quickly and is always first class. You won't find better Thai food in the area!!

Fabulous food and great covid control! I went last Tuesday and have never been before. Sanitize on entry and by the time we sat down felt like a pretty normal meal. Staff wore masks and clearly taking all the right precautions. Food was delicious and can’t wait to go back. Can’t believe this has been on my doorstep and never been. Top notch!

Went to the Chilli Club for the first time tonight - the food was delicious and the staff were very friendly and professional. The tables were spaced out to adhere to social distancing guidelines with Perspex screens in between the tables. We had a lovely meal and will definitely return in the future.

I have been enjoying top quality Thai food at the Chilli club in Lymm since it opened. Their standards have never fallen below excellent and it is far and away the best Thai restaurant I’ve ever been to - including 3 months working in Thailand! The lady in charge knows our favourite meals and for us that is another sign of the superb quality service they provide. So good to be able to enjoy the food ‘in-restaurant’ again 😁

Can't fault this place for the cuisine, staff and locality. Only one comment to make was that we were seated next to windows and found it a little chilly. I think they would've moved us but it was much later in the evening and went colder. Must try the stir fries, very tasty.

Been going to The Chilli Club, three or four times a month, for many years. We generally go as a couple but sometimes with family who also enjoy it. The food is consistently fresh and delicious - we love it! We've eaten in most restaurants in the village and this is definitely our favourite. I'm salivating just thinking about the red curry, or spicy noodles, or chicken and cashewnuts, or stiry fried chicken/beef with green beans - you get the drift... :)

We have been meaning to go to the Chilli Club for ages first time on Sunday. Staff were friendly, food was delicious, the kids loved it. Definitely going back soon.

Best thai around for me, we travel 30 mins to come here, it is that's good. Love the way they cook the chicken, its crispy and not battered. The chicken cashew is out of this world. Although everything we have had is always amazing.

This is the best restaurant in Lymm and the best Thai food for miles.Food is consistently good. Service is the same every single time, extremely friendly and efficient. Take away service is the same standard as sitting in. One visit will make you a regular.

Food was delicious! We were staying in Lymm for one night and after a little research and a recommendation, we visited on a Thursday night. Although it was very quiet (we were the only people in the restaurant) the service was great and the food was lovely, we had starters and mains.Would definitely return if I was in the area again!!

Always a nice lunchtime meal when in Lymm. The Chilli Club ,for those who do not know , is quite close to the car park which is just around the corner, near to the old Lymm cross and stocks.and is very reasonable,the first hour is free. I recently visited here with a relative and had a very enjoyable lunch starting with a nice warming Tom Kha coconut mushroom soup which I always really enjoy and then, on this visit, a Vegetable Massaman curry .Massaman curry is a mild type of curry although it has a multitude of fragrant flavours and spices and a sweetness that other currys do not have .For a hot and spicy one ,try a red or green curry, both are very good as is Pad thai with chilli flakes.

This Thai restaurant is so good, all the food is so fresh, the flavours are fantastic and true. I just wish I lived closer so I could go more often, and the staff are great too. I really recommend this restaurant.

Excellent Sunday evening meal with friends and true Thai food.

We visited the Chilli Club with friends on a Sunday evening and though it was rather quiet the food and service was excellent we all had different meals which everyone enjoyed all with a cool bottle of Chang.

The server at the bar was very friendly! He told me that have a vegan/vegetarian menu then admitted that there wasn't a physical menu and I could modify almost everything to make it vegan lol So, that's what I did! I ordered the quesadilla but substituted the cheese for refried black beans, and it was the best quesadilla I've ever had! I really wish I lived nearby so that I could be a regular here.

Just had Lunch at the Chilli Club. Had heard/read great reports about this place & I can see why. Lovely decor and soft music playing made it have a welcoming ambiance. Went for the 2 Course Lunch Menu, set price at £10-90pp. Lots of choice on this menu & we both went for the Hot, Sour Chicken Soup. Bit of a kick to it but what a taste!! Gorgeous. Packed full of chicken & the freshest vegetables/herbs I’ve tasted. Main course, chose Chicken in Black Bean sauce. Delicious. Again so fresh & tasty. Choice of egg fried rice or boiled rice, served with it. Food piping hot which is always a bonus. Staff pleasant, quiet but attentive. Can’t wait to return.

Great location, great atmosphere and great food and drink. Fresh fish, rolls, nigiri and sashimi great. Service is friendly and quick. So far best sushi in Bremen. Outdoor terrace right on the river, just fantastic.The best sushi restaurant in Bremen, Maybe they can put some more diffirent sushi rolls on the menu.

Delicious food a touch on the pricey side but tasty food and nice staff. Steamed muscles are delicious. Enjoyed it all!

Absolutely fabulous food and staff

This has been a favourite for a while, the food is great the service is friendly and not intrusive and they have improved their wine selection. My husband used to live in Thailand and is pretty hard to please when it comes to Thai food, but he loves the food here and it is a favourite for lunch as well as for an evening meal. You can also get a take away, but we have only ever eaten in.

Had a meal here last night. Nice surroundings. Starters very mediocre although pleasant enough. Main course was delightful and this is what would tempt me back. Generous portions and full of flavour. Price’s reasonable.

Ended up here after a lovely walk about Lymm. We thought we would try somewhere new and different and the lunch deal was very reasonably priced. The food was fresh with lots of flavour and very decent portion sizes. Will definitely be back if I’m in the area!

This fabulous Thai restaurant does an amazing 2 course lunch for just £10.00. There is a huge choice and the food is wonderful. We visit here regularly and have never been disappointed. More people should visit here.

Great food, good quality, pleasant atmosphere, comfortable, can be a little noisy when busy later on in the evening. Ideal for couples or larger groups. Worth a visit, recommended, would go again.

we dropped in to the Chilli Club off the cuff, I had the Rendang Curry my partner the Pad King, a reasonable food but to be honest I've had better (leeds market street food for example), would go there again but it didn't knock my socks off

Eat here most weeks for a quick lunch and also use for takeaways. Classic tasting Thai flavours, very chilled and laid back and always great service. If you’ve not been, give the Club a go and you will love it

Visited the Chill club a number of times, it’s always as good! Staff are very attentive and welcoming! Tasty Thai food, lovely restaurant, if you haven’t been and tried then get booked in!

This restaurant is consistently the best in the area. Everything freshly cooked, the most delicious Thai dishes. Staff are lovely and helpful. Try the chicken with cashew nuts (gai pad ped mammuang himmapan) - it’s the best I have ever tasted (and I tried a lot). Trip advisor times are currently incorrect- it’s open lunchtimes and evenings (hopefully this will be corrected soon)

I had lunch yesterday with my cousin, and we both had the most authentic Thai meal, the flavours are so fresh and true, believe me you won’t get a better lunch anywhere. And the staff are lovely.

We discovered the chili club about 2 years ago and have been numerous times since. Each time the food has been excellent. It is fresh, really tasty and not too sweet, which I find many Thai restaurants (in England) do. The service is excellent too, the staff are friendly, attentive and not too in your face. I am always so surprised it is not busier. If you like proper Thai food and not the westernised sweetness then you really should try here. I quite often order the mussels starter, which I'd really recommend!

It was an early evening meal on a Friday, first time visit to the Chilli Club after being recommended by a friend. As expected it was fairly quiet as it was early, a few other tables occupied and one larger party. The food was very nice, service was great and we really enjoyed the visit.
