Form Texas, we stayed near Southfields station for 5 days. We came for dinner on our third day of vacation and ended up coming back on our last day because it was so amazing. Service was great, and so was the food!! Everything we tried both times. Plus, great value for the price. Would definitely recommend and wish we could come back often!

We have been living in this area of london for a year and this is the only restaurant we keep coming back to. Food it's always tasty and portions are generous. The service is also very good and friendly. Definitely recommended!

I have to say that despite one or two odd reviews this place has wonderful food and is at least 1,000 times better than Thai Girder ever was. I ate at Thai Girder years ago - it was the only “Thai” restaurant I have eaten at anywhere in the world that didn’t have and couldn’t make Prik nam Pla. Its food was totally uninspiring and heavily Anglicised - perhaps that is what people in Southfields like? I lived and worked in Bangkok for a couple of years and can confirm that the food in the new Chili and Basil restaurant is now very good and authentic: warm rich Green Curry, lovely Pad Thai and finally some proper Prik nam Pla ! Excellent and we will be back regularly.

Used to go a lot to this place when it was the Thai Girder. It has changed hands and gone down the pan. The menu is now anodyne, half the size and the service entirely offhand. My partner’s duck dish was tasty enough, but they only bothered to listen to and produce half my order. What I did get was a fairly sad pad Thai, the veg used to be fresh and crunchy but now it’s what I would describe as beige cooking. They didn’t bother to offer desserts or coffee which would have been nice. It’s not like they were even hugely busy. Cut our losses and left. It’s sad, but that’ll be our last visit.

Lovely food, very friendly and great value. We had the Panang curry and Pad Kee Mao noodles which were both great.

Really lovely service, the people are very friendly and the food was so delicious! Penang curry is a must, especially with the lunch menu it’s a great deal!

I have visited this restaurant for my daughter's birthday. Once a fairly good thai, which had gone the way of Covid and now reopened under a new name. Simpler layout, this place is not big, Our starters came of soft shell crab, duck and squid. The starters arrived in about 20 minutes, the mains took more than 45 minutes to follow. The restaurant was not even half full. Also we ordered prawn crackers which were charged at £3.50 and came to our table quite a deep yellow. (Cooked in old oil). The mains were disappointing. Very bland. I expect thai cuisine to punch above its weight in flavour, freshness and vibrancy. These did not. Tried again with a takeaway meal. Too much use of 'fill in' old vegetables. The brocolli had yellow tips and there were far too many cabbage stalks, hard and inedible. The sauces again so bland they could've come from any supermarket. The price was eyewatering for the mediocre quality of the food.
