The food is excellentttt, i can’t stop thinking about that chicken burrito the staff recommended me. I live in soho with a chilango nearby but I travel all this distance to the angel chilango just for the amazing team they have and the service they provide me EVERY TIME. You must come and try their homemade lemonade, tastes just like my grandma’s.

I got served by Jordan last Monday evening and the experience was amazing. He was very helpful/ diligent & cheerful. The fella deserves a promotion. It makes a real difference to the food when the service is amazing. Got the burrito in no time and also tasted great. Really changed the end of an average day

The most honest review I can give is that the food is amazing…probably the best in that genre of food. The food choice isn’t huge but I think that is a good thing because I think the focus is really on the quality. Four stars is because they have been slowly reducing the size of the meals and it’s disappointing. I know what the size of the hot boxed used to be. It seems to happen each order I make.

Tiny portions of tasteless nothing. The kind of place that gives oxygen to the non Londoners who think London is rubbish and overpriced. Avoid.

I've had the best experience in London all because of Maxwell, Ravi, Kailash. I've never felt so welcome and been helped with my dietary needs to the T. I recommend this to anyone.

The phone number for this place doesn’t work and it’s been a problem the last couple times I’ve tried to contact them. I just got someone else order and I’m getting a refund separate to that but I’ve reordered and I wan to clarify something but can’t get through. I love chilango like been a loyal customer for years and years but they put peppers in my veg burrito all the time despite having strict instructions to put anything but those in. I just want to call and double check but I can’t get though. Chilango is my comfort meal. I have been eating there since 2016. Please I hate grilled peppers and you guys don’t have clear enough options to select on your delivery sites like Uber eats or deliveroo. I just want a veg burrito with guacamole but NO seasonal grilled veg ESPECIALLY peppers. Please guys fix the phone or fix the delivery apps. EDIT July 13th 2024 - the phone still doesn’t work it’s listed different on google versus delivery sites. I am really frustrated. The burrito is not worth it if the delivery instructions aren’t followed!

I don’t know what they put in their loaded fries but it must be crack… also wish it came with the tall mixed race girl who made it, definitely returning for her- I mean the loaded fries, they were great!

Every time I’ve come into Chilango upper street, it’s clean, tidy and the staff are very friendly. I’ve found Maxwell and Maamie to be especially helpful - always going to great lengths to be as helpful as they can. Everyone is very nice and the level of customer service here is very high. Fardin is also very nice. The food is always excellent and prepared to a very high standard and I enjoy the atmosphere.

Okay first off!!! Let me just start by saying the food is absolutely delicious and so fresh. I can eat healthy but have the food genuinely taste amazing what a dream come true. Secondly the team are so sweet :,)… I’m not sure which team member was working on wednesday evening - but I made an online order mentioning my birthday in the comments and they left me such a sweet sweet note I wish I could thank them :(. Not only will I be returning for the food, but 100% for the lovely customer service too. #chilangoalltheway

Great Burito, great passion from staff and great service.

Today I went to chilango in upper Street Islington. I was greeted by Alba and served by Fardin both their presence and service were impeccable. I was greeted immediately and Fardin had nice banter with me whist making my order. Both lovely people great for your business 5 stars 👍🙏🏾💯

So we ordered a delivery of 2 hotboxes and a burrito. Although the picture of the hotboxes looked big, I was expecting something quite small . When it arrived, it did appear to be a standard size but there was more than enough food in each rice box to possibly get 2 lunches, out of 1 box. They were enjoyed and would definitely be re ordered. Th burrito was huge and fell apart while I was eating it but very tasty. The waffle fries were very tasty but the portion size was as very small and quite pricey.

Despite being a proud Mexican eatery no one speaks Spanish. I ordered the vegetarian burrito. They only had few scraps of the vegetables. The girl said she would give me extra guacamole to compensate. The burrito ended up being really full. I suspected it was going to be a nightmare to eat it as it was, also given the fact that they only wanted to give me, initially, a small napkin. So I asked the girl if she could cut the burrito in half. She said they're not allowed because of "cross contamination". I didn't understand the relationship between my question and her answer... I said: "you can use a clean knife and there won't be any cross contamination". Still she said they're not allowed. It was a very frustrating first experience at this restaurant. The reguetón music doesn't help either. The positives: the girl was very friendly and despite everything she tried to help. The burrito was really good, big and cheap. Nice decoration.

Amazing friendly staff. Workers took time to explain how the menu worked and really gave us the Chilango experience. Loved the surf n turf burrito and also loaded waffle fries. Would defo recommend !

I had excellent service, the surf and turf was 10 /10 and ayo the chef was super polite and he catered to my needs , and the bbq sauce was saucey . I would recommend this place I’ve been here a few years ago and I was not disappointed.. someone give this man a raise

Food: portions aren’t as big as they used to be. Also complimentary sauces on the table which were the main attraction for me aren’t there anymore?! Bring them back. Service: very very sweet and friendly. Atmosphere: clean

Experience eating here recently has been awful. It’s a shame cause the burritos are generally good but whenever I’ve come in recently there’s been an issue (cold burrito, not told about missing ingredients before I go ahead with the order, etc.) gone downhill.

Become very stingy and inconsistent. Even stopped the complementary hot sauce on tables. Compared to Chipotle and Tortilla this ranks 3rd. Shame used to be great. Recommend Chipotle which is 1min walk away from here.

The tacos are a stick soggy mess without much a flavour. I guess other reviewers must be ordering the burito? Not sure. Horrible tacos in any case.

So. Lovely Taco (prawn) Fries (which I waited for so as they were hot and fresh) were spot on. The only thing I would say is that iceberg lettuce is a disappointment. There are so many other great lettuce leaves out there. £15.50 for taco, fries and coke a little bit on the steep side but I understand given the prices of food, fuel etc. Guac was lovely but a tiny bit more lime juice would have been appreciated. Tasted like it was made with bottled lime juice rather than freshly squeezed. I might be wrong. The fresh lime is the difference between a good guac and a great guac IMO. I will be back. John

I was tempted to give the food a 4 because of the limited vegan options. But that wouldn’t be fair as it’s not a vegan restaurant and there are sufficient options. Besides the taste and quality is excellent as well as super filling. This was my first time and the staff were great at explaining the process and options. It is fun and reassuring to watch them prepare your meal and be asked what you want included; an anxious vegans’ dream. The decor is super colourful and fun. My only critique of the atmosphere was the music was really loud; which was a little much during the day while the restaurant wasn’t full. Great Latin vibe though. A fantastic experience and I will come again.

Food is great at most times I visit; steak is my favourite and portions sometimes vary depending on who is serving, when the staff member serves a good portion is very satisfying.

I will say, this isn’t my first time coming into Chilango. I love exploring resteraunts and their foods. With a tortilla and chipotle also here, I’ve explored each option but returned to Chilango, due to the consistent amazing customer service and atmosphere. I often find that these type of businesses lose their charm, but not chilango. There was no music, but the workers kindly explained it was a technical issue. I would like to say the Worker “Alice” was very kind and informative on the new Carnitas. I hope Chilango doesn’t lose its charm. It really brought a smile to my day.

I like their food but I noticed that the person who is making the burrito is also touching the till with the gloves.. Made me wonder if she was making my burrito after touching the till and what not. Person who’s in charge of the till and making orders needs to be separated. Please.

I don't know if I went at a bad time or what happened, but I was so disappointed with the food here. I lived in Mexico and this is not what tacos are. I should have known when the woman behind the counter took out HUGE flour tortillas to make the tacos - if they were out of taco tortillas why didn't they just say? The place could really use some finesse to make it truly chilango, for example chopping the Cilantro and not just putting huge sprigs on the tacos. I asked for Pico de gallo on mine and they poured a load of the liquid on it at well meaning they fell apart instantly. Overall the taste was okay but these are not authentic and they could literally just put a few more minutes into incredient prep and teaching them how to serve properly.

Chilango’s is still our go-to spot for a burrito. They always make it exactly how you like it, unlike other competitors. Staff are always welcoming and pleasant to deal with. Will be back again.

Left a review for Chilangos 2 years ago and gave it all round 5 stars, but a lot has changed. Staff didn't seem motivated or happy, the cleanliness of the store was questionable and the toilets had septic water coming out of the toilet (the whole floor was covered in dirty water). The burrito too, everything was wrong. It wasn't wrapped properly and just fell apart even with the foil still around. There was an insane amount of liquid pouring out of the burrito all over the tray and the flavours just lacked. Really disappointing from my "go to" burrito place.

Loved the pork and steak burrito I ordered and the waffle fries were tasty as well, will definitely come back again at some point!

How did Chilango get so bad?? Went here after years when this was a firm favourite and so shocked. Terrible terrible food:( Staff seemed so busy with half of the ingredients missing from the counter. Had a burrito which I regretted after the first bite. Burrito wasn’t even warm when I ate it. The quality of the food has gone down the drain. Think twice before you come here.

Between us, we had a steak burrito, cheesy nachos, a water and a coke, and the bill came to over £20. Quite pricey, all things considered, but the service was great and the food was decent.

Great place to have tasty burritos. We have been going for many years and have never been disappointed. Food is tasty and quite fresh due to so much demand, plenty of seating, staff is helpful, and music adds to the chill out atmosphere. Its quite easy to get to given the tube and bus stations nearby. There's also a mall with cinema right next to this place for spending more time in the area.

Always a good meal at chilangos

I gave the food a 4* because I genuinely like this franchise. When I came in I asked the staff member for 3 tacos and I wanted 3 different toppings on each one(eg chicken, shrimp, steak) as I've always done, she told me they all have to be same, so I responded I used to work here, (which I did in the past) different branch and this was never a problem and not only that, I just got chilango a few weeks back and did this!! So I asked her is this something new? She replies no, so I'm confused. So either she's new and has been trained wrong or she's just rude, could be either. I literally travelled 40 minutes for nothing. I'll stick to the other branches. I rather travel for good customer service, and no I did not proceed to purchase a meal form here. Funny thing is they have images on their previous reviews with tacos with different toppings, looks like someone made a mistake and it's not me.

This place has ruined burritos for me because it’s the best quick service Mexican place I’ve ever been to. Usually burrito bars barely season the different elements that make it but absolutely everything I got was delicious. If they ever open one in Ireland I’ll be the first in the door.

If you want to try Mexican food, this is the right place. Nice flavour and helpful staff. Highly recommend this place !

Stop off here before our visit or the O2 Islington. A very short walk from the venue and you get delicious, generously made tacos and burritos. Packed full of fresh filling and tasty chicken. First time here, and definitely won’t be my last. Great prices, along with cool corona to balance the spice…throughly recommend coming here.

For a fast food Mexican, this place delivers. I ordered the 3 soft tacos veggie and when I asked for beans, the young girl serving told me that you only get the beans (remember this is a vegetarian order) with the burritos because it makes the tacos too wet…what?? I have been eating Mexican food for over 40 years and I have NEVER been told I can’t have beans in my tacos! After I insisted, she then told me off! “I’ll do it this time but next time you come in you won’t be served beans with your VEGETARIAN tacos.” Well, what do you think folks?

Used to be the best Burrito in Angel. Went back yesterday after not going for a few months. The portion size is now an absolute joke, tiny spoon of rice and scrap of meat. The thing looked like a skinny thin Fajita not a burrito. Unfortunately won't be going back unless they increase back to their normal sizes. Will stick to Chipotle for now, they still do a decent size and tasty Burrito. Such a shame.

Came in today at lunch and was not left disappointed, the food is tasty as always and staff are so friendly ! Price is also quite reasonable for the quality.

The two stars are purely for the decor. The good reviews influenced me to eat here and I ended up bitterly disappointed. Absolutely dreadful customer service and ridiculously bland food.

What i liked most is the real guacamole they use - not just crushed avocados like everywhere else
