Chicking Belfast in Belfast

First of all, the food quality was good. The roasted duck was fabulous and my husband really enjoyed 蒜蓉炒通菜 which we did not take a picture. In spite of the good food, we did not have a good experience in this restaurant. I’d have to say this is one of the places with worst service in the Uk I have encountered. When we asked about the differences of two fish dishes, the waitress replied in an unwelcoming tone, “they cooked in different ways”. I supposed if she was not sure, she could have asked other staff members? And this was not a once off event. I later asked about the portion of the bowl of rice, and she replied, “a bowl”. If one have experience of eating in a Chinese restaurant, one would know a bowl could vary a lot in size. I explained I wanted to know the portion as I didn’t want to waste the rice while I have a young child aged 4 with us. I got an answer that each person should order one bowl rice. I did so, and turned out we had to waste one full bowl of rice, as shown in picture 4. I saw some other reviews claiming staff members were helpful. It might just be us - as this was the one and will be the only time we are visiting this restaurant.

Chips were completely inedible, there was not one bit of potato inside and they seemed to have been recooked multiple times. Other items were ok but the chips really let it down. We had the same issue a couple of months ago but assumed it was a one off as they’re usually very good.

Was just ok. And expensive for what it was.

Just nipped in for a dinner on the way home

Delicious takeaway grub with very generous portions and free parking right outside the front door. So no need to rush anything. This is a family-run business with the super-friendly staff cooking your fresh food in front of you. Is this the best Chippy in Belfast? Well they have my vote and I'm there at least twice a week. May 'The Sunflower' forever blossom!!
