Chianti Restaurant in Falkirk

We returned to Chianti and we were very pleased we did

Bought a voucher as a gift for partners parents. Only to be told after the meal that the voucher would not be honoured. Excuse "new ownership"... A company still using the Chianti name, restaurant, premises, Google reviews, social media accounts, phone numbers and branding? Not honouring vouchers with there name, branding, number and premis over it! Hmmm... I've been made aware that there are a few hundred of these complaints which are going unanswered and vouchers dishonored. Most likely totalling thousands of ££££. This should be a very easy win for a class action lawsuit in court.

5 pm on a Wednesday evening the place was nice and quiet. My dad was so in need of the attention given to him by the lovely waitress. Just the tonic he needed on his birthday. The food was delicious too. We will be back

I gave a 5 stars review last friday and I am sorry for it.today the food was so bad.chiken tasteless and carbonara pasta in a parsley sauce.i don’t know what happend today, but for sure we will not come back if the food keep taste like that.what is wrong here,one day the food is great and afyer a few days is rubbish?!

What has happened to Chianti? Over a year ago I posted a 5 star review. It ticked all the boxes for family gatherings, they couldn't do enough for you. Also I am a regular customer who visits for lunch with my dad on a weekly basis. We usually go for the lunch menu. Offering a good deal on 2 or 3 courses at lunchtime. The staff are lovely. I did notice a change in staff members but didn't know that they had changed owners. However I did book a meal for Easter Sunday for a family gathering thinking there was a lunch menu ( £17 for 2 courses, £22 for 3 courses) and also a children's menu usually £6? On last visits, old owner. When we arrived we were given the a la cart menu.No Lunch Menu or Children's Menu available. This was kind of embarrassing because this was my treat and prices were really expensive for me. I didn't want to make a fuss as this was one of the few occasions we actually all get together. It cost me just under £300 for 6 adults and 3 children? The children had to order adult priced meals and drinks that didn't really appeal to them. They just wanted crispy chicken and chips? The waitress when asked, who I knew from previous visits, just pointed to the menu? Where was the friendly helpful Italian family vibe? The Italians are very family oriented and I can't understand why they couldn't rustle something up. The restaurant was half empty, now I know why! I was surprised really and very disappointed in the fact that I wouldn't be returning to the restaurant I thought was great. I deleted the 5 star post because the restaurant has changed so much! Unfortunately we won't be returning for the weekly lunch visits or for the special family gatherings. Note to new owner - why do you not have a children's menu? You should cater for the younger family members. They are very important customers too!

CHIANTI ARE BACK! After an extended poor spell, Ristorante Chianti is right on top form! New ownership (the original owner I believe), new table staff, a new chef and new menus. We went for their set lunch on Friday. £22 for 3 courses which is £4 more than advertised on their website but the food presentation & quality plus the excellent service made £22 very good value. We had Mousse di Pate and Calamari Fritti for starters, we both had the Pollo al Limone for the main course and we shared a slice of Passion Fruit Cheesecake for dessert. Everything was absolutely brilliant! We will be back before too long!

We went with a group of friends. The food was nice the staff were friendly and it had a good atmosphere. Probably paying around £40 to £50 per person. Depending on how much you have.

We had a beautiful meal today. We booked and asked for a wheelchair friendly table with a high chair, everything was set up for us arriving. Very accessible and the staff were AMAZING, went above and beyond to make sure our meal was great. Played with our little boy, brought him lovely fresh bread and ice cream, made good conversation 10/10 service! Food was lovely, will be back in the near future!

Very disappointing- don’t believe these Google reviews! Not AT ALL as described on website- the menu was completely different. Service was the SLOWEST I have ever experienced. Waiters were setting up tables for tomorrow meanwhile we were waiting 45mins+ for 2 coffees. No apology or compensation for this at all. We were a group of 6 and out for the birthday boy. We told them it was his birthday and they completely forgot. Meanwhile 2 other people got birthday shots + cake. It was someone’s anniversary when we were there and they had live music. Not exactly our cup of tea but we ended up really enjoying it in the end- talked to the bloke whose anniversary it was and he was lovely. Only thing is when we booked restaurant didn’t mention this at all and we were just surprised by loud music and atmosphere that’s all. Food was really decent- nice Italian pizzas and pasta was pretty good too. Bill was £200 between us 6.

Very disappointing. We were looking forward to this meal based on the website and the Google reviews, however when we got there the menu was totally different to the one online. Service was very poor, waiters were slow and not very professional, which wasn’t in keeping with the fancy vibe given off by the website. Food was ok, would recommend pizza over pasta.

Resteraunt had really good service and was very attentive to our needs on our wedding day. Very clean toilets.

Went to chianti two weeks ago what a change all for the better new owners food was lovely had a great new menu lots of choice also a really nice lunch menu available 12 until 3 we both enjoyed the food service was excellent we will definitely be back highly recommend

Oh my gosh. We went back to chianti for the first time in years. The guy who originally bought it and went away, is back. Amazing food. Amazing service. Great atmosphere. Will definitely be back!! Thanks for a lovely evening!! X

Nice restaurant with good service. I wouldn't recommend the veggie pasta that I had but I would still go back to try something else.

We did try to get into the Chinese banquet next door but queue was massive so chose here instead. So glad we did the food was amazing and the service was second to none

Went on a Saturday night in January, around 7pm. We ordered a calzone and ravioli, and a bowl of olives to have with our drinks. The mains took a fair time to come out - there was a table of 10 or 12 that was in, but it felt like a much longer wait than was reasonable to expect. The ravioli was lovely, but the calzone was lukewarm / cool inside, to the point that I didn't eat most of it. When I pointed this out, the waiter and manager apologised, came back with an explanation for what had happened, and took the calzone off the bill. We also ordered desserts - which were fine (I'd have liked a bit more banana and a bit less cream on the banoffee pie). At a shade over £50 for drinks, olives, a main and two desserts (after the price of the calzone came off) this still felt like a pricey evening... I'd like to be able to recommend this place, but that feels difficult given my first experience there.

Husband had his family meal here for his 60th. We have been many times and are never disappointed. The food is freshly prepared and always had a fantastic meal. Started taking grandkids and the kids meals are well worth it the grandkids both said best pizza they have ever tasted. Staff are always friendly. Dave,Megan and Sam hes always there Sam so think he's owner or manager. Sometimes out for a walk and sit outside with a drink and pizza . Inside is decorated lovely. If you want quality freshly prepared Italian food at reasonable price this is where to go for Italian meal in falkirk .

Just had a lovely meal at Chianti. Nice to see old favourites like lasagne and spaghetti bolognese back on the menu. I had the arinchini and rigatoni Norma both were lovely. The new menu has a great selection. I would definitely recommend a visit

The staff here really let the place down. The decor is nice and you can see an effort has been made in that regard. The food is ok, not the best but also not the most expensive either which creates a balance. I had the lasagna and my advice to the chef would be charge a couple of pounds more and serve it with garlic bread or a side salad. It reminds me of a restaurant I worked in a few years ago. I was a chef and we were sending good food out but the floor staff let us down massively and it ended with the restaurant failing. The staff in Chianti are very inattentive. The first issue was that the waitress taking our order misheard midori as irn bru. They sound nothing alike so from that I took that she was not listening, she returned shortly after to tell me that they had run out of midori, in my opinion she should've known that before starting service. Then when our main course arrived I ordered a white Russian, the staff congregated near the bar and had a conversation. It was clearly a social conversation as they were laughing and joking. This went on for around 15 minutes- such behavior is fine when you have no orders on. It's not OK when you have an order to deal with. it sends a clear message to customers that you do not care about providing good service to them. Staff should be attending to customers first and foremost. then my friend asked for a dessert menu, this was provided on a small blackboard- a bit gimmicky but ok, however the prices were not on the board. my friend wanted to order a tiramisu but couldn't get the attention of staff so gave up. I could understand if it was busy but there were only another 2 tables of 2 and a table of 4, that's quiet by any standard.

Great food, very slow service this time but never happened before so maybe a blip lovely atmosphere.. Been loads and keep going back love it!

Chianti used to be out go to Italian but we had to ask for 4 out of our 8 meals to be sent back to the kitchen as the food was cold. The Carbonara used to be the best we'd had but now with the new recipe I wouldn't recommend at all. I see you've recently updated the menu but I would say for the worse. Our family celebration dinner was very disappointing and the service wasn't great. We used to recommend this restaurant to anyone but now I don't think we'll be back.

I’m staying in the Falkirk Travel lodge for a month whilst I work at Grangemouth , so tonight I thought I’d give Chianti Italian restaurant a try and I definitely wasn’t disappointed. The food was great and the 2 young women running front of house were very welcoming & doing a great job. Arancini was very fresh and authentic and you’ll see from the photos the beer and steak was also on point. I’d advise anyone local thinking about going , or anyone staying near by in one of hotels to get yourself booked in.

The gnocchi was pretty good, but the sauce was just a little bland. The seafood spaghetti was very good.

Must be under new management. Food is more heavy; more northern Italian (heavy sauces). The only salad, ceasar salad, was way to heavily dressed. Two "specials" were out. The bruschetta was simply a small pizza.Not up to it's usual standard.

Was very impressed to find such a great place with an excellent kitchen. If you're around and looking for a tasty meal with decent price, this place is for you.

An Italian restaurant in the middle os Scotland. We were with a big group without reservations but that went well. Parking is easy and the welcome was ok. Especially coming in with 10 people. They had to arrange some tables but when that was done it was cosy and comfortable. The staff is friendly and professional. Now the food: the food was typical Italian and that in the middle of an other country surprised me a little. Because we had a bigger group I could see (not taste) all different dishes. It looked amazing The dish I had was good.

We stayed in the hotel close by and found this gem. By far the best Italian food I've ever had. So good in fact we dined here again the following evening . Daves service was brilliant and the Chef needs commending for producing quality food time and time again. thank you to the Chianti team.

Poor service less than average food badly prepared

I really do not want to give a poor review, but we have seen some changes in this restaurant recently, and sadly, not for the better. The menu has been reduced, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. However, it is when there are dishes not available. We have been here twice in 3 weeks due to birthday celebrations. The first time, we had booked early as we had children needing home for bed. On this occasion, the service was appalling. 3 members on staff on, and I constantly had to keep approaching them for service. In brief, the pulled beef was unavailable, the focaccia didn't arrive, and when it did (after being prompted ), it was sodden in oil. The mushroom tortellini was a very small dish. The scallops were £13 for one very small scallop. The kids' menu describes bolognaise. However, this is mince in tomato sauce. Only half our coffees arrived, and the birthday cake we had brought with us was served as the children were putting their jackets on. And that was just the first visit! And once again, we were the only table in for the majority of this visit. We were guests at a friend's birthday on the second visit. The mushroom tortellini was equally as small. The scallops consisted of 2 this time. All other dishes were enjoyed, and to put something positive, I very much appreciated them changing the aubergine spaghetti dish to rigatoni. The big issue we had here was them adding 20% service charge to the bill, then when questioned what this was, they couldn't tell us. In order to charge 20% service charge, the service is got to be outstanding. As demonstrated before, it was below par at best. I'm gutted as we really like this restaurant, but we'll not be back in a hurry.

Nice clean place. Plenty of parking. Food is always tasty no matter what you order. Great for a quick meal or a full evening event.

The menu has changed and let me tell you it’s not for the better the carbonara is vile not like their previous one which was the best I’ve ever tasted, will not be back such a shame

As I write this I am enjoying a beautiful meal the second in 2 days. Definitely my new favourite Italian restaurant. If you have the chance definitely pay them a visit. Staff are friendly and the new revised menu would be a crime to miss. The olives are a must in my humble opinion. Oh the risotto in the pic was gorgeous.

Very impressed with the new menu, delicious food. Most of the staff were lovely, except one young lady, hopefully she was just having a bad day but we were made to feel a little uncomfortable. Always been one of my favourite places to eat.

Went there last week for my wife's birthday, but food lacked authentic taste, pasta didn't seem cooked, plus we both had upset stomachs within hours of visiting, probably won't go back 😢

Nice friendly restaurant a very short walk from the Premier Inn. Nice pizza and risotto.

The food was ok but not amazing not somewhere I'd rush back to. The worst part was the mold in the rim of the lid of tap water bottle. That really needs to be looked at as they are obviously not cleaned.

Staying at the Macdonald Ichyra nearby, we had a nice 25 min walk to get here and it was so worth it! My husband and I both had the specials which were absolutely delicious. So pleased we ventured out here, service was very friendly, drinks came quickly and food was fabulous. Definitely recommend.

Staff good and decor lovely. Not sure whats happened it's changed so much, seems to have changed hands. I actually left my starter and the food was very bland, not the usual restaurant standard from Chianti. I agree with the other reviewer...tasted like shop bought pasta and the meatballs were fatty, hard tasted like cheap meat, Staff was made aware. Menu options reduced also. Such a shame as been going for years and handy to get to, better places to eat.

first review ive ever done and its worth it - staff are absolutely lovely. was in tonight for a meal with my boyfriend and the food was to die for. the restaurant is very beautiful and perfect for couples and families

Service was really slow and pretty unfriendly. We waited over half an hour to order drinks and had to chase down staff to order more. It felt like we weren't wanted and staff were keen to get us out quickly (even though it wasn't particularly busy). Last time we visited (2 years ago) it was good, but everyone in our party was disappointed this time. The pasta dishes were likened to those packet pastas where you 'just add water', the pizzas were OK and my sister enjoyed her steak. But who cares about her. What about MY dinner??

It was my first time at Chianti with being gluten and milk intolerant. Lunch menu had a couple options for myself, starters; smoked salmon and minestrone soup, mains; gf pasta in arrabiata sauce, minute steak. I had minestrone soup (and it still came with normal bread and butter) and minute steak with chips in a tomato sauce and then peppermint tea. It was delicious, and I would have it again. My family had spaghetti carbonara, minute steak and strawberry cheesecake and 3 scoops of ice cream; vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry. All meals were amazing, and I must admit, I would have loved to have the spaghetti carbonara, but there was no alternative for my intolerances.

Visited by chance, excellent food and wine. Staff were welcoming and friendly. Not many customers when we arrived but started filling up quickly.

Fillet steak was amazing with excellent pepper sauce, group of 5 all had different choices and no complaints whatsoever. Quality well cooked and presented food. Second visit and standards are being maintained - highly recommended

My goodness best gluten free pizza ! Service is amazing! you can eat anything on the menu despite allergies. They accommodate vegetarian, gluten free and, vegan Stuff is very welcoming and polite place is amazing

Good atmosphere but very slow service

Having high expectations due to past experiences, we were utterly let down and highly disappointed on this occasion. We booked weeks in advance yet there was unsufficient service and nil customer care! 23 of us were ignored for over 40 minutes, it has gone so downhill, can no longer recommend.

Great setting away on it's own with free parking. Food was so so for me but I'm not a chef so that's just my option. Big main room but didn't really understand why kitchen staff spent so much time wandering in and out of kitchen staring at dinners. Kind of put me of. Probably a better place for older types as that was what the majority of customers appeared to be.

Can't fault the food or the service, but nothing particularly exciting in the menu and prices a bit high, but I suppose they are everywhere these days. Enjoyed the entertainment. Photo is the "Chanti Surprise" dessert, which was a white chocolate mousse in a white chocolate ball.

Nice decor but no atmosphere.Staff not friendly.Very pushy, hadn't taken our jackets off before sitting and they were asking for drinks order. Starter was nice not much can go wrong with bruchettie. I ordered chicken risotto,when it came it was a deep brown colour. Couldn't see any chicken just cubes of fatty meat. Sorry can't remember what it was called. Looked disgusting, should have sent it back. But no decided to give it a try. Tasted even worse than the look. Waiter asked if it was to much since I had left it all. Answered no it was horrible, taste was too strong and couldn't eat any. He never commented on it nor came back with any explanation. Drink was fresh orange and soda,it was so pale had to ask waiter to put more orange in as all you could taste was the soda water. Went there for my birthday treat after having a major operation 3 weeks previous. First time out, ruined my day. Needless to say won't recommend and will not return.

Went for lunch and we were not offered lunch menu ! The restaurant policy is only to present the a la carte menu unless customers specifically ask for this. No lunch offer was mentioned on internet sites. Food was lovely but the experience was marred as the tables around us , being in the know, had therefore greater choices available to them. The irony was, that I still would have chosen my lunch from the a la carte menu but the whole experience left a bitter taste and a feeling of Innate dishonesty which did not have the customer at the centre.

Had a lovely family meal. Food delicious. Service very good. We ate quite early at 6pm so was fairly quiet, however was filling up lovely as we left. Lovely little restaurant. Would recommend and we'll be back when we are next in this area. Thank you .

I have visited Chianti several time and always the food was very good. There is plenty free parking at the restaurant. That tree in the restaurant doesn't do anything for the atmosphere but that is a personal opinion some people might love it I rather have an authentic Italian feel in an Italian restaurant. The service was OK no pleasantries but can't blame the girl who served us. The patio with the outdoor pizza oven could do with a tidy up it looks abandoned. It's a shame that little easily fixed details let it down a bit as the food is really good. I don't know if it happened to anyone else but I got charged for items I didn't have once I put it down to an honest mistake but can't help asking for the receipt to see if my bill is right. It never happened after that one time The food is good so I will keep going back to Chianti. If you like Italian food, who doesn't, I can recommend Chianti.

Food was really good and the place is lovely but the staff were not very attentive which was a big let down we had no drinks left when our meal arrived and not one member of staff came near us so after our meal we just paid and left and went to a shop for juice as we were parched our table wasn't even cleared until we left so we had our meal and 1 drink which was disappointing as we were going to have a dessert but knowone came to our table so we just went up Paid and left not sure if it was new staff they were huddled round the till area chatting and the place was quite empty so you would think they would be more attentive

We were staying nearby at the Macdonald Inchyra and didn't really fancy the restaurant at the hotel so we searched what was nearby and this came up with good reviews so we hopped in the car think it was about a 4 min journey and it was pretty quiet when we arrived about 5pm'ish on a Mon night just one other family in. The decor is beautiful. I would of loved to have seen it on a darker night all lit up. Food and drinks came pretty quick. Food was lovely. Great prices too. Staff very friendly. Would definitely return again if we were in the area.

Went for our anniversary dinner. Cold calzone server to me so he had to take it away to make another but I had yo get him to take my wife's dinner so we could dine together and not 30 mins apart. It arrived back on a cold plate.. we will never eat here again as the waiter/ manager did not apologise or help....AVOID.

Lovely authentic Italian restaurant. Great atmosphere and very positive, welcoming staff. The food was tasty and definitely worth a try. If I go back I'd rather just go for drinks and nibbles. Great outdoor space, would be ideal on a sunny day for cocktails.

Had a lovely birthday celebration meal. Wine delish food delish service acceptable for a busy Saturday night. Felt a bit pushed to finish up at 9pm with remarks of "do you wish to order sweet before sweet kitchen closes" and then asked if we wanted coffee before the coffee machine got cleaned that I felt was a hint to leave now so lost a star on that basis. Table covers were clean and fresh which made it a bit more sophisticated. Most restaurants go for low maintenance bare table tops now so hats off as this is a luxury to most places.

Family night out ruined. Poor service , main course arrived 10 minutes after the rest of the party and to make matters worse the pizza was served under cooked with cold mushrooms on top absolutey disgusting..And the response from the staff was OH !! Will never go back ..
