Sunday Roast Lunch as ever excellent (one of our favourites). Great cooking by Paul & fab service from Niamh & the team. Always consistently great presentation & taste. Thanks guys you do an amazing job.

Had a family birthday dinner here last night. I can unconditionally recommend Chez Nous. The menu was extensive and interesting. The food cooked to perfection (chicken supreme so so tender). The service was good (maybe a tad slow to bring beers - but not too bad). The service was friendly and engaging. Great option of set menu - 3 courses for £27. And BYOB

We went for Sunday lunch, we took 2 menus of 3 courses, each of them at 25£. There are some supplements but just if you choose them. Good value for the dishes that they offer. We really enjoyed the food and we were full, the portions are big. The service was very good along with the food, the only dish that I didn’t appreciate too much was the cheesecake. This was our first time but we will come back 😊

Went with family for Sunday lunch. Starter of deep-fried goats cheese with salad was okay. When they brought the mains they all looked impressive - food piled high and topped with a Yorkshire pudding. However, I had the ‘nut roast’. This turned out to be a bland lump of gooey rice with no obvious trace of nuts or vegetables - no texture whatsoever. The waitress dealt with my questions well and offered to get me another meal but I chose not to given I was with my family. She returned to the table to explain what was in the nut roast (chestnuts, pine nuts, something else and brown rice) but I still couldn’t detect anything beyond the rice. I’m guessing the nuts were so ground up that the texture was lost. It was basically virtually tasteless slop. However, the Sticky Toffee Pudding was excellent.

Exceptional as ever, best mussels and perfect steak and afogatto.. . 👏👏👏

I've been to Chez Nous twice in the past month and in both occasions the food was fabulous.

All I can say is fantastic, fabulous, perfect,unbelievable staff were perfect couldn't do enough for you our waiter was cian thankyou so much for a very enjoyable evening we had the steak and I must say I totally enjoyed every bite incredible place to enjoy food and the price was not bad at all thankyou chez nous 🥰🥰

Beautiful Bistro. Very Welcoming by lovely, friendly staff. Service was efficient & professional. Food was Delicious! Foods amazing and very professional staff

Fantastic from top to bottom. Pleasantly greeted on arrival by 2 very happy polite members of staff, escorted to our seat within a couple of minutes and drinks served fairly quickly afterwards. Now I'm a man of simple tastes and simple pallette, I like what I like and make no apologies for it. The starter was an easy pick, Chicken Satay Indonesian style, but having been in the past the calimari is also excellent as is the Pate with toast. Now back to my simple man tastes, I'm not massively into fancy food, so was thinking Haddock and Chips, knowing the size of the portions at Chez Nous I thought it might be a bit much after a decent starter, but didn't fancy the "Greek" double cheeseburger, with Feta, Tzatziki, and Halloumi, on it, but felt embarrassed about asking for just a simple double cheeseburger. So we come to order and literally said can I have Greek Double Cheeseburger without the Greek please 🤣 Whilst the waiter laughed he said absolutely no problem at all. WHAT A BURGER. From the first bite I turned into Joey from Friends, rolling my eyes in immense satisfaction at the fantastic taste. Each mouthful was the same from start to finish absolute heaven. (They even threw on an extra burger to make it a triple which was unbelievable service given it wouldn't be cheap) The Mrs had the same satisfaction from her meal, and we both said we could not eat another mouthful never mind consider pudding. All in all its our 2nd night in Chez Nous and they have been nothing apart from excellent on both nights. Great food, great atmosphere, fantastic staff and all in all cannot be faulted. Well done Chez Nous and thanks for your amazing hospitality ♥️

Went with friends on a Saturday evening to celebrate our wedding anniversary ❤️ What an amazing evening from the greeting to the wonderful polite helpful staff . food was excellent the fillet steak rossini the fillet just melted cooked perfectly all food to everyone at the table was top class. Finally the bill absolutely exceptional for what we had all had. Thank you chez nou for a perfect evening. X

Only niggle, and it didn't bother me personally, was volume of music making it difficult for my Dad (79) to hear. Also not sure if, as much as I love it personally, Radiohead Creep is the best choice for Sunday lunch with its 'F-bombs'

Having dined at Chez Nous this evening, I felt compelled to write a review. The service provided by the staff on duty this evening was simply outstanding, nothing was too much trouble from the time we arrived to the time we left. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal too, which was delicious. It’s unusual to find such high standards of service these days, which is why I was keen to put pen to paper. Thank you for a lovely evening.

We booked the private room at the back for an 80th recently on a Sunday afternoon. The food was amazing, although we only managed 2 courses as the portions were so good! The Sunday roasts were outstanding. The staff were also brilliant, helpful, friendly and willing to help with anything we needed. An all round very pleasant experience and would definitely recommend

Visited here many times over the years. A few years ago under old management the quality dropped but for old times sake we visited yesterday evening. Well I am pleased to say the quality of everyone's starters, mains and desserts was right up there again. All four of us thoroughly enjoyed it. Very happy for the new management.

Visited on Easter Sunday during a weekend away with family. The food was amazing, all 3 courses. The Trio of meats meal we had was outstanding. The staff were also brilliant, helpful, friendly and willing to help with anything you needed. An all round very pleasant experience and would definitely recommend.

We visited on Easter Sunday and had a lovely meal. An improvement to the experience for us would be having allergens marked next to meals and gluten free option available next to those that can be adapted. They were able to adapt some dishes but you have to ask about each dish. Also Gluten free yorkshire puddings would be a great addition to the roast, a lot of pubs and restaurants use the becky excell gluten free yorkshire pudding recipe for all their yorkshires

Superb Sunday lunch for 16 of us in the private dining room. The food was delicious and all served nice and hot which isn’t easy with 16 people and a full restaurant. The staff were excellent, highly professional and very friendly! Thank you for making our Easter Sunday so lovely. We can’t wait to return!

What a shame we booked to celebrate a birthday 4 of us out of the 8 meals starts and main they managed 1.5 the one being goats cheese salad. The Food was poor. Crispy Prawn starter was like a packet for a frozen shop no taste no flavour. Mussels smallest we have ever had the sauce lacked flavour. Main course Lamb was basically a bone surrounded by fat Steaks came unfortunately cooked wrong and 1 was extremely fatty. Asked for mash instead of chips served with both ? The gammon was very salty but was ok for a pub lunch not restaurant quality. I’ve given it an average due to the service we received however the Food was well below standard. We had entered a restaurant for a birthday celebration- Walked out feeling we had been in greasy cafe very disappointed.

We ate here last Sunday and we all had, either the Sunday roast or fish and chips. We were all very impressed with the food. I had roast pork with all the trimmings and the pork was cooked to perfection, it was moist and flavoursome and a very good portion. To start, I had salt and pepper crispy prawns, they were ok but nothing special and not freshly prepared, they were frozen. That did not take away from the main meal, which was one of the best I've had. The gravy was delicious, the veg was cooked to perfection and the Yorkshire pud was crispy and light. For dessert, I had raspberry crumble sponge and that was very good. Another person in the party had sticky toffee pudding and that was also delicious. The staff were fantastic and very attentive.

Absolutely beautiful meal at Chez Nous this afternoon for a family birthday. Their Sunday menu is expansive and the quality is exceptional value for money. All the servers were great, but especially Daisy who was friendly, funny and so attentive. Don’t snooze on this place, a great Sunday Roast and a lovely restaurant. 5*’s

Absolute gem of a place, absolutely recommend and the guy who served us today was so lovely.

The food was very good BUT it was very rushed. We were eating our dessert when we were informed that our table was needed in 10 minutes. No mention of this was made during making a booking with the restaurant. It completely ruined our evening, and I for one will not be using the restaurant again.

Went with friends Saturday evening absolutely a lovely time seeing its coming up to Christmas and they were busy nothing was to much trouble. Food was excellent and served well didn't have to wait. Only one thing I would say we had chesse and biscuits to finish would have liked perhaps a hard chesse we were given goats chesse blue Stilton And brie which were all nice but a either cheddar Lancashire. X But seriously thank you for a lovely evening.

Another fantastic meal for a large family birthday celebration. All 13 of us thoroughly enjoyed it yet again so thank you so much. I would also like to say a special thank you for the time and care you took to ensure that my daughter who is only recently diagnosed as suffering from Coeliac felt 100% confident that her meal would be completely Gluten free. After many bad experiences at restaurants in the past . Chez Nous is certainly now her go to restaurant of choice. I genuinely can’t thank you enough. It is fantastic to be able to go for a high quality, great value meal at a restaurant that also has the knowledge and full understanding to cater for a Coeliac. I would highly recommend Chez Nous and would certainly advise anyone who is Coeliac to give it a try. Thanks again for a great meal

I visited Chez Nous on 3/11/23 for my Birthday Meal with family. On arrival we were greeted with a warm welcome and the twinkling window lights set the scene for a fabulous night. The restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere and the ambience is fabulous and decor is beautiful. The music playing was not too loud and the air tempersture was very comfortable. The Menu was absolutely stunning and it was hard to choose as everything was described perfectly and to my taste. When the food arrived it was hot and presentation was outstanding, it was literally the best sebass I'd ever tasted, and the Tomato soup was devine and warmed me up on a cold rainy evening, we shared various desserts, so yummy. I didn't want my evening to end, and I'll definitely return for sure. I can't leave without praising Mason the best waiter I've ever been served by, he was polite with the best personality to keep you entertained, he is a darling and deserves the very best of everything in life. Thankyou Mason and Chez Nous for making my Birthday meal spectacular ❤️

First visit and it won't be our last food was excellent and the staff were patient, friendly and helpful can't fault it.

We have not been here to eat for over 25 years, we knew the original owner who was a good friend. Don't know why we haven't been for so long, just one of those things keep saying we will go and don't. We received a warm welcome and pleasantly surprised at the change. It was fairly busy for early doors on a Saturday so a good atmosphere. Our meal comprised of 1no Goats Cheese and 1no Black pudding, both were excellent. Mains comprised 1no 6oz steak and mine was the lamb Shank, both again excellent, in fact the lamb was of a large size, well received by me. Drinks were a Bacardi Coke and a Large glass of Rose'. Total bill was £71.45 without service. Have to say were were pleased we had finally been there again and will not hesitate in going back.

Lovely Restaurant. Took my friend for her first visit and she was really impressed. We had the set menu 3 courses for £25.00 food was delicious. We brought our own wine as you can BYO on Wednesday. Which was great. The staff were lovely and could not do enough for us. I highly recommend you try this hidden gem.

I visited for the first time on 14th July for a family celebration and cannot rate this place highly enough and would highly recommend it.....Delicious food, good size portions and great value 2 & 3 course menu's. The young waitresses are welcoming, extremely accommodating have great personalities and provide an excellent level of service.

It is a superb place to eat we have been there a number of times and service and food is always first class well done guys !

Just had a mid week meal here with friends (Thursday eve). Was made to feel very welcome by the friendly staff. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was amazing! I ordered the vegetarian tortellini not expecting anything too special but it was absolutely delicious. Plenty of dishes to choose from and all cooked fresh. They will try and adapt the menu for veggie/vegan eaters. Lots of desserts on offer but I asked for chocolate ice cream which they had. Very cosy atmosphere. Nice music. Enjoyed the wine! Would love to return again soon. Thank you!

My second time at Chez Nous Bistro. The Sunday lunch / roast was excellent. Roast beef perfect medium rare as requested. It is a lovely, quaint bistro with nice, pleasant staff. 3 course meal at £22 with £3 supplement for the roast beef was good value for money. Keep up the good work.

I love this place. Been here a few times now. Not the cheapest of restaurants but you definitely get what you pay for; quality food, lovely venue and truly attentive staff, nothing is too much trouble.

The staff were very welcoming, only one vegan option though but the meal I had was delicious Menu did say that other meals could be made vegan though but it wasn’t clear how Friend had a dairy allergy and was told that no non dairy...

Booked for a large group (four families) for a 50th birthday. Staff were friendly and accommodating pre arrival. We dropped the cake off and some decorations and they did the rest. Sunday lunches were delicious and service was friendly and attentive. Thanks Chez Nous !!

Booked a table for 7 people to celebrate my birthday waited ages for starter which fine finely arrived after several requests. the table had been booked for 7pm our mains served at 8.45pm! all dishes were terrible -the duck was tough and the sauce burnt,...

Used to love this place, but after this 2nd bad experience here, we will never visit again, I booked weeks in advance for myself and my husband's first wedding anniversary, our requested seating area was declined, front of house was obnoxious to say the least , food was rushed and not to the high standard expected of this establishment, completely ruined a memorable occasion. With the current cost of living crisis this restaurant needs to up it's game not lower it's standards. Really Wish I'd saved the 70 pounds spent, and got a takeaway instead, really not impressed, will never ever visit again.

Booked in advance by 2 weeks asked for the private area in the back! Was refused due to a birthday party on arrival wasn't given time to order it was very rushed constantly disrupted! Front of house disinterested and rude no acknowledgement to our 1st wedding anniversary even though told in advance will never visit again spoilt our evening wish we had gone elsewhere and we will in the future end of a fantastic restaurant goodbye chez nous

The food is excellent with a great menu selection and the place has a really lovely atmosphere. Highly recommended, we will be back.

Been meaning to try this place for years and finally got round to it. Really enjoyed the food and the wine. I got a steak and was happy with my choice. I've heard many people complement Chez Nous for a long time and would recommend giving it a go.

We had a family meal at Chez Nous which included three vegans and three vegetarians and it was really excellent. There was a special menu for the vegans/vegetarians, the food was lovely and the staff were attentive and friendly.

Excellent food and good service. Would recommend booking as it is clearly popular even at lunchtime. The Dortmunder Pils is also to be recommended.

First time we have been in three years and had a very enjoyable meal and lovely friendly staff

Food was good however the owner was abrupt and not really interested. Didn't smile once and made us feel we were a hinderance. We went here for the first time on recommendation....... Menu is good and standard of the food is high - sadly let down for us for all the wrong reasons.
