First class service started with the lovely lady answering the phone she was so helpful,polite and very friendly We all enjoyed the special curry sweet and sour and lemon chicken very nice to find such a tasty Chinese takeaway on our doorstep highly recommend

Chens is probably the best Chinese I’ve every had as all staff are sooo kind and caring. The food is always hot and good quality as well as the delivery is quick and fast!! Really recommend to all people who want to have Chinese for dinner or lunch! SO AMAZING!!!

I love chens the lady that works there is sooo nice give her a raise. Best egg fried rice i have ever had in my life. I am vegan though, but this was worth every second spent on the toilet. bit expensive though xxxx

Service was great but the food received a mixed review from us. The rice and meat was nice but the curry sauce was bland and the chips were very overcooked.

Had family over last night and ordered from Chen’s, it was one of the best Chinese meals I have ever had. Everyone enjoyed their meal, definitely recommend. Lemon Chicken, Beef & Black Bean, BBQ Chicken.

Chips were hard, noodles were bland & greasy, asked for crispy chicken in BBQ sauce to be soft .. it was hard , the lemon chicken wasn’t lemon chicken. Will we be back ? Definitely not. What a waste of money and majority of food was binned.

I usually don't like Chinese takeaway. The monosodium glutamate makes it feel slimy. This was really tasty and didn't turn into that congealed lump overnight. So tasty had the rest for lunch on Saturday morning 😉

Every time we order, the food is delivered quick & hot. There is a great variety of dishes including European & Vegetarian, Kids menu as well & if you want to change part of your meal, no problems.

All food was delivered on time, was hot and really good quality. Wouldn't hesitate to go here again. Staff very friendly.

Late home from work and couldn't be bothered cooking. Ordered prawn on toast, salt and chilli chicken and a boiled rice. Was delivered quickly, the order was correct and it tasted great. The price is around average for the area. Have used before and will use again

Meal deal was nice only £10.50 for 2 main dishes. BBQ ribs and sauce is really nice would deff return. Salt and chilli chicken lemon chicken style is also very good. Very local. Food was ready in under 5 minutes and hot

ordered sweet and sour chicken but given sweet and sour king prawn even though under special instructions it tells them sweet and sour chicken. I can't have prawn I tell them this and they did not correct their error or refund the payment. it was a glitch on the website I ordered from fortunate for Chen just eat refunded me with a voucher thanks just eat.

First time using this take away, after reading all the good reviews I thought I would try them, delivery was quick but not all our food arrived, called and they sent the driver back which took a while and the missing food arrived cold so went in the bin, will stick with our usual take away

Food was excellent. The delivery was very prompt. I spent over £10 but I never got my complementary prawn crackers as advertised.

Chen's has always been my go to for Chinese takeaway. Always met with a friendly reception by the woman on the counter or over the phone. Food portions are very generous and of good quality. Always seem to stay safe with my Orange chicken and fried rice because that's always been my favourite. Can't beat it, fancied trying my order via Just Eat and delivery was specified between 45-60 minutes. It arrived in 20, fantastic as always. Delivery guys are always really nice too. Amazing!

Delivery very quick. Food hot and tasty only thing was I asked for no mushrooms. Meal had a couple in it nothing I couldn't pick out

Asked to be delivered at 8.30, turned up at 9.15. The food was not good the salt and chilli chips were soggy and didn't have much taste. The noodles were quite greasy and the beef in black bean sauce was cold. First and last time ordering from this Chinese

Delivery took over an hour and half!! Lay out of the deliveries is shocking because the delivery guy said he'd already been to Tranent then had to come back to give me mine?? Why not have all Tranent together

Mess up with order meant that someone else picked mine up and by the time they realised, I had to wait until nearly 7pm for a 6.30pm order. Sadly they didn't even offer any discount or gesture of bottle juice? Sad

took over 1 and a half hours then I called to cancel order because was taking too long. no apology either, total waste of time and a tediculous amount of time to order 2 portions of food

What I ordered was different to what was delivered. The food was cold, awful Chinese tonight.

I asked for food to be delivered at 11.00 food arrived at 10.00 not good when person who wanted food not in till 11.00

My meal was spicy the way I like it. But the sauce was very watery.

While there was a slight error in what i ordered, the food was amazing and the delivery time was more than reasonable but aside from that they were more than willing to make up for the error by either e delivering the one thing that was a mistake or giving it (or an equivalent item) free on my next order, which was more than ok by me with having nothing but great service from them in the past anyway.

1 hour and 40 minutes for delivery. Crispy chicken wasn't crispy and salt and chilli chips where reheats it tasted like.

Always order from here and normally great, however past few times we have ordered the chilli and salt chicken wings they have been worse and worse which is disappointing as they are our favourite

I have ordered few times from this place but tonight order was not up to standards. Chicken wings tasted like they have just been cooked from frozen and noodles with beef was bland with minimal flavor and taste! Not impressed..

Really enjoyed food before but tonight I was disappointed. The food was nice but not much meat as normal and sauce watered down. We did recieve a complimentary dish but would have rather received a better quality dish of what we ordered.

Asked for no veg or beansprouts in my " soft plain noodles " ended up getting veg and beansprouts !! And ordered 2 tubs of curry sauce, and one tub was completely burst open.

Because of a delivery driver walking out, out order was late and when it did arrive it was lukewarm. Majority of chips when in bucket as too cold and they don't heat up in the microwave without going soggy. Rice wasn't too bad once reheated .

£30 order was cold when arrived! a week ago they also missed a meal of the order and that took an extra hour to arrive, staff were not helpful and no refund was issued, poor service! will be going somewhere else, pathetic excuse for a Chinese

First time from this place. Food came 25 minutes earlier than expected and was lovely :) chips were a bit soggy but that'll be from the container it was delivered in. Overall great service! Will no doubt order again!

Not the best food. Cheap of the cheap meat used but for the amount u get for the money is worth it but personally I'd pay a bit more for better quality food next time

Good was ok, but took ages to deliver, and when it was finally delivered the driver delivered it to wrong address , only received my meal as a neighbour bothered to go round the doors looking to see who the food was for.

Food quality good and better than other Chinese restaurants locally. However, the portion size of my shredded chilli chicken was poor and the chicken came swimming in a pool of water like sauce. I had to drain it. The worst portion size of any Chinese I've had in the area. The portion size of the chicken curry was good and in line with other Chinese restaurants in the area

Didn't show up. Paid £28 for nothing. No phone call from restaurant and said it has been delivered. Waited 45 minutes till delivery and then another 45minutes over estimated delivery and now it's closed!

I found meat in a vegetarian spring roll. I requested meal mild and it was extremely hot.

Not bad. But expect you to walk/ to meet them. Also told where to meet them, they turned up 15 mins later (25 mins after the leave now call)and delivery driver was a bit rude. We could have picked up food. Was going to order again, but on the strength of the delivery driver, we won't.

I'm afraid I was totally disappointed with this meal. I had chicken satay starter and lamb with ginger and spring onions. Both were gloopy and thick and tasted like bland Chinese chip shop curry. The fried rice and complimentary prawn crackers were lovely but everything else was so bad it went in the bin.

Gone massively downhill, worst spare ribs ive ever tasted. Chips were soggy, and the curry was watery. Not good at all.

This is my local Chinese. I have been to many others but I definitely recommend this one to other friends and family when they have having Chinese take away.

i ordered a beef fried rice i got a beef chow mein i asked for a dry chicken chow mein there was more sauce than normal spring rolls tasted very sweet i have orded from chem before was good maybe chef was having a bad day..will try 1 more time if the quality does not improve i will find a new takeaway

I used to love Chen's food and delivery time was good but the last couple of times something's changed! Delivery has taken a long time and my meal wasn't as nice. The rice was dry, the chicken had too much chilli and there wasn't much of it. The prices have gone up a fair amount (old prices still on menu online so can compare!) And they were already more expensive than other takeaways I use. Prawn crackers and prawn toast still yummy but think due to the long wait (55minutes on a Wednesday!!!) And price hike etc I will go elsewhere. Fair enough if they had phones to apologise for the delay. Delivery driver was friendly enough though and apologised when I asked if they were busy as it took so long! It's a shame because they used to make my favourite shredded chicken in chilli and honey sauce :(

Well first of all we ordered our meal at half five then they only decided to contact us at ten to seven to let us know that they would be charging a surplus of £4 to our order as they had mucked up their delivery prices they then proceeded to inform me that my food would not be ready never mind leaving the takeaway for another hour at least. The food then arrived cold and with human hair in it, fair to say I am greatly disappointed with the whole entire experience of ordering with Chens!!

I was totally speechless and amazed on how fast the delivery was yesterday! Hats off! The quality of food was excellent too. So I may order the same thing today! :)

I'm certain the prawn dumplings were not fresh. The case was rubbery and hard. But apart from that I enjoyed the rest of my meal.
