If you are looking for Biriyani, then this is not the place. Either very minimum salt or no salt and the business says this is how they make it. But I am sorry, with no salt, you can't taste the flavour of the biryani

I recently visited chennai meals restaurant with a friend who was craving for indian style dosa, and I must say, the experience was fantastic. We both had dosa, and it was absolutely delicious – crispy on the outside and perfectly soft on the inside. The highlight, however, was the sambar. It was rich, flavorful, and had just the right amount of spice, complementing the dosa perfectly. The ambiance was warm and inviting, making it a great spot to enjoy authentic South Indian cuisine. If you’re in Manchester and craving a good dosa, this place is a must-visit. Semmaiya irukey ayya!

I would strongly recommend everyone please don't waste your money in this hotel .today we brought 1 chicken biryani and chicken 65 and both are not fresh at all.In biriyani we can smell the spoiled food smell and it was sticky . chicken 65 they used baji flour for marination and also it was made few days ago .totally disappointed and the hotel owner please don't cheat others of you can't give fresh food.

One of the best shop for dosa’s and the rate is way too affordable than most of the expensive Indian restaurants. A must try shop in Manchester for dosa lovers.

I order takeaway every day from different places - but today the food from this place - was TASTELESS as ever it could be As if you buy it from a local cheap supermarket for 99p and just heat it .

Very average hotel, not even a fresh dish from there. Seems, we got served with old foods that might be frozen and served. Dosai not even cooked well. But have seen one of the chef with good attitude helped us in a good manner.

I ordered parata from here , it’s not made from fresh flour , it’s a frozen flour , probably got it from supermarket and heated it . We do this a lot in our home. When I called them they replied this is their art of cooking.

Just had our dinner from Chennai meals. We had panner Marsala dosa, plain dosa and mango lassi. The food quality was excellent and justified the price. Special mention to the customer service from the staff. He was very friendly and hospitable.

Everything smelling bad chutneys waste of money

Today I bought Iddli and vada chutney sambar from here and the experience of food quality is very bad. Iddli is not fresh and coconut chutney was also not good. They charging less price but the quality is poor

They sell under the name of Tiffin Box on Uber eats. I ordered butter chicken masala, chapati, gulab jamun and most unfortunately some pulav/pilau rice! I eat rice on a daily basis and just wanted some with my curry. The chapati was not the best but not the worst. The curry was okay, but the rice…as soon as i opened the container, I could instantly tell the rice was off. Dreadful rotten smell! I ate a few grains just to be sure and it was the biggest mistake. I threw up all the food due to this nasty rice. Whether people like the food or not is everyone’s taste to an extent but pls do not send stale food. Customers are trusting you when placing an order, please please respect that! I came to Manchester only for a day and was in a good mood to get some nice Indian food as it is not easily available in my area, what a dreadful experience this has been.

I came here a few times while working nearby for a couple of months and made a different order each time. The Dosa meal in the evening at £5 is very good value while the Lamb Kulambu is also very good. Everything is freshly cooked in front of you and you can eat in as well. Service is friendly Don't be put off by the tatty look of the place, it is well worth a visit

Nice homely south Indian taste. Though almost took 90 mins to prepare the order. Idly's are better than most places.

It’s 12.30pm am outside the Chennai meals and they are not open yet they are not punctual we came to try this from salford as I heard the good reviews from my friends but this is their service .

Fantastic experience with Chennai Meals. Popped in for the first time tonight and could not belive the prices. One idli, one Vada, one masala dosa and 3 chutneys for £5. I was a bit sceptical given the price, but I needn't have worried. Everything was made fresh in front of me and was absolutely delicious.

The food was good, especially masala dosa, mutton biryani and sweets.Really affordable compared to many other indian restaurants in Manchester and Liverpool. Staff were friendly as well.

I ordered a Dosa Meal, but there was no Dosa included which was not ideal as there wasn’t enough to eat.

Really poor quality food. It was not fresh at all, everything was prepared from frozen food packs. Tasted awful 😣 It’s takeaway place but please don’t fall for it very very disappointed. Really being generous by giving 1 star.

If I could give a minus 5 review I would do that. Firstly, the quality and portion sizes are not enough. The chutney is old and doesn’t at all taste good. The gobi 65 was terrible. Dosa is hard and this and overall this has been a terrible experience. And when we called to complain they justify and disagree with you.

Ordered Lamb and Dal curry and the portions were ridiculously little. It was as if someone drained out some portion . Will not order again

Really, really good dosa for ridiculously little money. You really need to o and collect it as takeaway freshly made though, dosa doesn't travel very well. Sauces and dips are delicious and service is always friendly and really fast.

Not an option for those who like Parotta and chicken curry Spent £16 for 2 parotta (£2.5 for each frozen parotta) and chettinad chicken curry which is absolutely overpriced. £8 for chicken curry which contains 8 tiny chicken breast pieces and box full of gravy Not to try this place if you crave for the same 👎🏻 In regards to your reply, Well, It's not for giving wrong info to your customers, 8 pieces of chicken in a curry is more than enough for a person, but see the size of each piece( hope one part of a equally divided chicken breast cut into 8 pieces) I'm absolutely sure how chettinad chicken curry and Indian parotta will be. it's not just an assumption, Obviously, you are a highly recommended place for Indian cuisine, I have had several other items from here before; those were amazingly delicious, just pointing out this particular dish based on what we have got this time. Inmediatamente dijeron que faltaba la bebida y que era su culpa, así que pregunté más sobre las heces y luego di vueltas en círculos con ellos repetidamente diciéndome que lo habían hecho ellos mismos y que no estaba vacío y acusándonos de estar equivocados sobre su contenido y luego que debemos haber pedido lo incorrecto. Me tomó levantar la voz e incluso sudar en un momento para pedir perdón y luego continuaron tratando de decir que fue nuestra culpa. Dijeron que ordenarían la bebida y cuando pregunté por la dosa, después de más círculos y negación, dijeron que podíamos recogerlos. A pesar de haber ordenado la entrega. 5. 95 para un panqueque empapado con 10 g de paneer rallado unidad (si soy generoso, 25 g). Valor absolutamente impactante en el resto de la comida. Ni siquiera me atreví a mencionar la salsa que está claramente fuera de lugar, no la mezcla de salsa de mango antes de que terminara la llamada. . . Delicious and really good value for money!

Second time ordering from here- unfortunately, the idli’s were not fresh and the coconut chutney had a funky taste. The mutton biryani was good but the curry that came along with it was absolute fire! Both husband and I had a terrible stomach ache the next day. Sorry, but this time around the food wasn’t as great as expected.

I have ordered from here since October 2018. My most favourite Indian restaurant - especially Tamil food. Unparalleled in taste. Homely food, excellent Lassi and chicken nuggets. Even if they miss out on one of the food items, they compensate with more. Once they even called me to tell that they had to cancel my order because of an error while taking the order and told me to book it again. Decent people.

Ordered 2x lamb biryanis and 2x popcorn chicken through the Uber Eats app. Paid £13 for it after using a buy one get one free uber promotion (supposedly should have been £26). They operate under a different name for uber, called Indian Tiffin. The food was poor, 3 tiny lumps of 'lamb' in each portion and the chicken was literally chicken shop fried chicken, nothing Indian about it. The worst part was the 'raita', which contained no mint at all, it was basically very watery lumpy yoghurt containing raw onion, disgusting and inedible. When I look at their website, I see that normally they only charge £2 per portion of chicken and £4.50 for 'mutton' biryani, so it should have come £13 anyway without a promotional BOGOF code. I highly doubt an 'authentic' Indian cook would actually serve this food.

Very tasty and authentic Paneer Masala Dosa, Sambar and Dal. Delivery was slightly over an hour, but still earlier than scheduled delivery time. I wonder if there might be a more environmentally friendly way to deliver all the chutneys, rather than many plastic pots?

Fresh and hot, delivered early and real south indian taste of the masala dosa but i think the mysore masala was more like a normal masala dosa but still taste wise great but if it would be more of an actual mysore masala then would have been fantastic.. Cheers keep up the good work.

A much needed meal after having a poorly child, lack of sleep and time to cook. very happy with the results: the food was very tasty and good value. would be happy to buy from again.

Good selection of very authentic food. Tasted really good and decent value for money. Might be some of it was microwaved. Called to say food would be ready for collection in 10 minutes and it was more like 20, though still earlier than the original specified collection time.

This is one of the best indian takeaway's in Manchester for sure. The food tasted freshly prepared and really very nice, not swimming in oil like other takeaway's i've had. 100% would recommend, i'll be coming back for sure.

Some of the food was so cold like it was taken out of a fridge. I had to reheat and eat. The rest of the food and service was good. I would advice Chennai Meals against sending ice cold food to customers.

This is the second time I’m ordering for collection. Food is good both the time, but the quantity is very little. it only feeds one kid. one of my orders was Chennai's Super Four's Vegetable which had only one kid size chapathi, two spoons of Gobi 65 and very little veg curry. highly disappointed as I had to buy food again from other restaurant on the same night. wouldn’t recommend

Dosa excellent, veg curry nice, chapati a little on the small side, around 7" (bit disappointing), vegetable roll nice and different to usual, dahi puri was a little soggy and not chilled enough, maybe that's how it is supposed to be but not to my liking

The vegetarian food was delicious. Great curry and very nice pilau. Chappatis were really good but a little small so order two per person if you are having chappatis. Loads of vegetarian options and very fair prices. Well impressed, will definitely order again.

I had the Chennai wings once before and they were really good not like fried chicken. Today they were really poor and just like any another chicken shop. Biryani was below average. Food arrived late but the staff called to apologised so was good on that front. Shame about the food
