Love this place, nice option for a south indian meal

Had a really good lunch here, they do a lunch deal which is a large portion and well priced. Variety of mini dishes with rice and they even put in a chapati as well.

Had Sunday buffet , very poor quality food chicken biriyani was too salty , no human being should be served such a dish. Curries were also not tasty. I don’t understand why people are so cruel that they care only about money . If something goes wrong in cooking they should recall that food item and either mark as unavailable or prepare a new batch but please don’t forget that the money spend here is hard earned .

Highly recommended south Indian restaurant to ponder traditional taste.

Given the restaurant is situated along the A6 in a busy area, they've done everything possible to create a comfortable and authentic atmosphere. The service is relaxed, and allows one the time enjoy the food and the setting. I loved the food. We ordered the veg masala dosa, chicken dosa, mutton dosa, butter chicken, idli, vada, and chicken 65. We were therefore able to sample a variety of flavours. The food was nostalgic and brought back memories of home. I highly recommend giving it a try. Small businesses such as this need all the support they can get.

We come here regularly. Good South Indian food at our doorstep. Idlis, medhu vada and dosas are all prepared well. We enjoy the food here and are glad we don’t have to travel a distance to have nice south Indian food. Recommend!

Great Breakfast Buffet Experience at Chennai Dosa, Stockport This morning, my family and I visited Chennai Dosa in Stockport for their breakfast buffet, available weekends from 11am to 2pm. At £7.99 per adult and £4.99 for kids, the pricing was very reasonable. The buffet menu changes weekly, offering a variety of South Indian dishes. Today’s spread included Vegetable Pakora, Vadai, Kal Dosa, Dosa, Idly, Sambar & Chutney, Uppuma & Kesari, and a choice of Poori or Masala Dosai—all of which were delicious and definitely worth the money. The restaurant was impeccably clean with attractive arrangements, and there’s a small car park for customers behind the building. The restroom facilities were well-maintained as well. Special mention goes to Aswethree (if I remember correctly), who managed the place with a friendly and professional demeanor. Overall, Chennai Dosa provided a delightful dining experience with tasty food, excellent service, and a clean environment. Highly recommended!

Very nice place, would suggest to go early rather late so you have time to enjoy their delicacies. I must say, I had no expectations at first but their Lamb biryani is simply to die for. MUST TRY ...

DON'T TRY THEIR DOSAS,the masala dosa had little to no masala and the masala was disgusting and tasteless. Kheer was delicious and sweet but overall poor experience

I had dine in and take out from Chennai Dosa Stockport, many times. I enjoyed the amazing food and incredible customer service on all occasions. Tried to get into the Purple Pakora last night but was too busy so we thought we would try the Chennai Dosa next door but one. What a great choice the food was lovely as was the beer and the service and the price. Totally different from your traditional curry house , we didn't have a clue what to order so we just chose two random meals and they were gorgeous, will definitely return . Highly reccomended

This is the worst Indian I've ever had. Food flavourless, dosa extremely soggy, chicken biryani is 2 chicken drumsticks in rice? Never seen anything like it. Nothing positive to say.

Food is above average and Service was good

The food was nice but the portion size was stingy. For example the main dish with king prawn with mango curry for £12.99 had only 3 prawns in it. I still felt hungry when I left the place so won’t be going back. Service was slow despite only 2 other tables in restaurant.

Only experienced take away service so far- must book to eat in sometime. Lovely food, very different menu. Really good veggie and vegan options.

Went on Christmas Day, the food was fabulous, no set menu, could order anything from the menu, the food was just amazing, and definitely more authentic food than your average Indian restaurant, I highly recommend!and will be a regular from now on!

I had come here few days ago to have good dosa. We had podi dosa, podi idli and plain dosa- good quality and sambar was amazing. Much better than many other branches of Chennai dosa in England. But what surprised me more was takeaway we had- mutton biryani (one of the best biriyani I had in UK),chicken chukka and mutton pepper fry (tender and nicely flavoured). Will definitely come back again to try other dishes -would highly recommend this restaurant if around Stockport area.

Fantastic! I’m sat in the restaurant as I write this. Had the Manchurian cauliflower starter, potato dosa and chicken biriyani and chicken bhuna. All absolutely delicious. Proper authentic Indian food, great service. Asked the lady to serve us her favourite dishes and she did not disappoint. Try this place if you haven’t already!

We came here for our wedding anniversary and were certainly not disappointed. Staff were so friendly and the food, delicious. Paneer was perfect and my husband had the lamb which just melted in the mouth! Great atmosphere, we will definitely be back for more. Thank you.

It was absolutely amazing, delicious food, great service. The taste was authentic. This is the place to go if you crave an incredible South Indian food experience. Their dosas are divine and the portion size is huge.

We were party of 11. we had selection of main course and desserts. Rava dosa, chicken and muton dosa and as a surprise Bhatura were very good. Service provision was good. All the food does not come at same time, may be due to lack of staff as they are just setting up but the quality of food was brilliant .Highly recommended.

Great food, prompt service, quite reasonably priced too. NB this isn't your standard curry house fayre it's more like south indian street food.

We have best food. Chicken kotthu, onion rava chicken masala dosa we recommend to try. We will visit again. The student/ NHS 25% offer running now for whole month.

The food was delicious. We had a selection of starters and main dishes which we shared. We felt it was reasonably priced. The service was very good. We would certainly recommend it to friends and family, and would certainly return.

We went as a family to Chennai Dosa and had a lovely meal. The menu is varied yet traditional. Very tasty and flavourful. A good choice of drinks including Kingfisher on draught. Will definitely be going again and look forward to ordering a takeaway soon.

First time visit, will definitely not be our last.the food was excellent and the service even better. The staff explained the menu to us and made several recommendations that did not disappoint. You have to try the Paneer Manchurian!!

Delicious South Indian food. Dosas, chilli paneer, chilli chicken etc. Freshly prepared, beautifully spiced and good portion sizes. Would highly recommend and we will be going again. We are early so only gave a 4 for atmosphere as we were the first in. Went with our 2 children who also loved it. Staff friendly and polite so everything very good. What's not to like about that?

Quite good food like any other Chennai dosa franchise. The idly was a bit hard but the other dishes vere very good. The coffee was also quite good. The place is very small so could fill up quite easily with around 15 people. The service was also good. Would definitely recommend.
