Went around 6pm, was not busy but it was slow service, food took ages to come out and it was overly salty, the chicken looked anorexic. Naan and hummus was nice.

Charcoal grill TERRIBLE service!! Do not use restaurant!! Last night ordered for delivery for my self and two kids, to then receive about 10% of the order !! When contacted they decided to not answer the phone to my self or the delivery company (exact number of attempts 63 ). As a result I had to drag my kids to the store, and received nothing but rudeness on arrival. When talking to the manager I am told it’s my fault & will have to wait 30 minutes at which time it’s already been 2 hours!! Due to the fact I needed to get the kids food I agreed however in the 30 minutes my partners car was hit with the kids inside which could have all been avoided if charcoal grill had better service. To conclude I still didn’t receive all my order as on returning to the shop after the accident I was told the food was still not ready at 8:45 which was placed at 5:20.

They don't present their card machine and ask you give cash , if you don't have they ask you to go the ATM , it clearly show they don't want to pay tax, they are CORRUPT. They charge you £2 for one bottle of water which comes from Costco , the whole pack which contains 42 bottles costs nearly £4 in Costco , that means they make nearly £90 from a pack of water they buy for £3.78pp from Costco . I don't go there anymore nor recommend.

I come here on a regular basis. Twice a week now for the last 6 months maybe. Its a great place to bring family and friends or just to get a decent takeaway meal. Most recently I took 6 of my colleagues to lunch on Saturday and everyone finished giving rave reviews. One colleague even told her family about it and they came to the restaurant after we left. The food is tasty, well cooked and appeals to lots of different people. Also the portion sizes are huge and the lunchtime deals are well worth the trip to bedford for. Mahmoud and Mohammed who are both usually serving at lunchtime are quick with the service, friendly and personable. Always smiling and if there are ever any problems they are very quick to resolve them

I am so disappointed. I’ve visited a fair amount of times and have always been more than satisfied with the food , however today for the first time I was left disappointed. It seemed as if my food was taken off the plates taken back to the kitchen. The Shawrma wrap was all cut up and had chips in it which isn’t how it’s ever been. The rice on my vegetarian platter had random bits of food in it and bits of the falafel was all broken up on top of my chips and was really oily. I’m actually gutted because I really enjoy the vegetarian platter but won’t be returning.

The staff where so nice and friendly! You could strike a conversation with any of them and it woukd result in giggles and smiles. The food on the other hand the portions where verh generous and i just cant get over the rice its just so good. THE ATMOSPHERE was an absolute delight the lighting,music etc it was just so beautiful I would 100% recommend coming here beacuse I definitely will!

There was a situation where we had to listen to some weird songs in full volume, maybe the rest of them are ok with that but we felt disturbed, we even thought about cancelling the order and walk away. I'm not suggesting this place to someone who is looking for a peaceful Dine in.

Nearly 30 min'utes waithing for overpriced shawarmah. No real service, place wasn't that busy and they kept me waiting really long. Tiny portion, the meat was nice and well seasoned but even their "large" portion is not really enought for a starter...

Heard real good things about this place. Got the chicken shrwama. I dnt why but on both occassions the salad and the chilli sauce was over done with viniger. I like my food with alot of chilli sauce, so as i poured on the chilli.it was like i poured a whole lot of viniger. on this occassion the food wasnt on point for me.

Dreadful food, and expensive. Won't go there again. Tasteless and badly cooked. Chips inside the chicken shawarma, no salad, everything cated in mayonnaise and no spices. Kebeh slimy and inedible. What a disappoitment.

Floor slippery and sticky. The chicken and rice was not what i ordered. Silly enough to think i needed to check my takeaway food. It was some shredded random old sunday dinner looking and tasting chicken.not the red chicken i ordered. £9 for old sunday dinner leftover chicken and rice. Never again. Then i looked at the council food hygeine level. Threw the food away.

Got my order wrong and made me pay for it. Threatened me with one of their male staff members and chased me down the street into another restaurant. If you dine in, be sure not to lock eyes with light skin bar maid, she’ll take your your soul away, shes a demon.

The food is nice but every time I get a delivery they have a problem sending the correct drinks ordered, Today I spent £38 for two meals and 3 drinks and received one can. They charge over £2.50 for one can of drink so that’s over £5 they earned off me for today. If they do this to a lot of customers who order online. That’s a nice tidy sum they are making I feel it’s a little over priced also

Randomly came across this place whilst driving thru Bedford. So happy we did! Food was amazing, We had the sharing platter for 2 and the portion size was perfect. Service was how we like it, you get your food and you're left alone to eat it without any bother. Even better was when I went to pay and found out it was 15% off entire menu from 12-4pm. Definitely will be going back soon.

Prices have skyrocketed. For around £20 per head I expect them to take our order at the table. You wait at the till's forever for them to take your order. Staff can't even crack a smile and are like headless chickens. All unorganised. Use to like going here but will never be returning. Absolutely rubbish service.

There prices are of 5* Michelin restaurants it’s outrageous, £15 a burger whole chicken 26.50 proper restaurants in london dont have these prices and this is bedford! food is really nice for this town however service is not the best and prices are outrageously high for what it is!

They’ve had a refurb done very recently; so it’s got a nice vibrant atmosphere inside. Prices have gone up noticeably, although not extremely high, certain items are probably a bit too much for what they are. Their shawarma, and burgers are good. Grilled meats are nice too. I’ve always found portion sizes to be big too. Food is always decent here, and it’s probably one of the best halal places to eat out in Bedford; although not much competition around in fairness. Feedback to management; A water bottle is £2.50. And it’s one of those plastic ones, where you can get 24 for around £4. If it’s going to be £2.50, it should be a good brand/bottle, even if the margins are crazy for you atm, lol.

First time I visited this restaurant, I was amazed by the food...and I'm very fussy....I will definitely say don't leave it as long as I did...its worth it. Friendly staff and great service...can't wait to return....

I just been to the restaurant after the re opening it's just amazing a whole different atmosphere the food is so delicious I have alwys been a customer but this time i went to dine in with my family the restaurant looked immaculate a complete different vibe and the prices are not that expensive like other restaurants. Will definitely come back and I do recommend It .

Great to see charcoal grill back open, they have most definitely improved the place it's no longer run down, it's fresh and vibrant and everything and more you would exspect from a Lebanese restaurant. There chicken and lamb have always been the best in bedford marinated to perfection - we got a group platter which had more food than we could physically eat. Would highly recommend weather a quick date or out with mates hit them up. Authentic and tasty!!

Very nice food and service. Best place to eat out in Bedford I always get a mix grill which has a little something for everyone. They also have a good vegetarian options as-well as some traditional dishes.

Firstly love, the refurb but most importantly delicious food as always! Yes it is a little more expensive, but then who’s food shopping bill isn’t and I’d much rather they put their prices up than lose this gem of a restaurant, they are a business after all, if you wanna have go, blame government they responsible for inflated food, energy etc prices Charcoal Grill are not to blame, they put their money back into the business by way of a re furb for us customers to eat in comfort

£15.80 for wings and chips and it’s a smaller portion now dahm it was £10.80 and a bigger portion looks like I ain’t coming back was nice while it lasted if you go back too £10.80 and the portions are bigger then I will come back and maybe even leave a tip but for now peace ✌️

Charcoal Grill has always been my spot since college days which I’m talking is since the very beginning of their opening days. Since then service, quality and portion sizes have dropped. Whether this is because there’s new management or whatever, but personally I’m disappointed and let down. Prices have increased massively, understandable inflation everywhere but portion sizes have massively reduced. Food is no longer fresh. It’s no longer that happy place to go to. They take ever so long to take your order and once you’re served they go hide in their little hut behind the counter or either stay at the back of the kitchen. Coming today after their opening after their refurbishment which is amazing, I was only left further disappointed with the food. No longer fresh, rice tasted stale with an after taste, tad cold and meat was quite undercooked but flavour was nice. Don’t think I’ll be returning which really upsets me. New manager is also rude, a woman asked why they were closed during ramadan that they missed and he rudely responded “well as you can see we’ve refurbished” poor customer service

10/10 lamb shish. The rice is also the best rice in Bedford.

Lovely food never disappointed worth every penny

This places used to be quite nice from last visits, but I ordered some food for collection about a week ago, the bill was £108. I understand you guys have to break your fast and so did we but honestly the food quality was terrible and I mean terrible. The service is poor, they don’t give or keep receipts and they gave 1 salad for 6 meals. I asked for chips with the meals and they must’ve decided to just give rice in all of them because they’re lazy. The wraps were dryer than sandpaper and the sauce was watered so much, when I was waiting for my collection I was told to wait 15 minutes longer which I had no problem with except it took about double that time. They have like 1 portion of chips and looked like they just gave everything from the fryer all the deep fryed black bits, was disgusting actually, NO WONDER THEY HAVE 2 STAR HYGIENE

The food in this places is very nice and the portions are huge. They sometimes have issues if you ask for something that differs slightly from the menu. The only thing I didn’t like was when I went to pay the guy got annoyed when I took my card out to pay. He goes they don’t like taking cards and want cash only. This is despite the fact the card machine was next to him. I don’t care what tax dodge you’re doing if you say you take card payments just take it.

Food was ok. Massively overpriced tho. Had only small amounts of chicken in shawarma wrap and hardly any chips. 2 shawarma wrap meals and 5 dead little wings cost me nearly £30. Not worth the money. Go somewhere else. I won't be going again any time soon.

The best Shwarma & Rice in town by a mile, they’ve made massive improvements, I had given a poor review in the past & now have changed to a 5 star after trying again on many occasions, seems this place values their customers reviews….& takes all accountability in making changes, great mindset, keep it up guys.

Charcoal grill is my favorite restaurant in Bedford. The food is extremely delicious, the price is incredibly affordable. The meat is marinated to perfection and expertly grilled over charcoal in the open kitchen. The rice is so flavourful and delicious and the home made chilli sauce and garlic mayo is amazing. Overall a perfect dining experience or take away.

My favourite restaurant around bedord is Charcoal. I have always been coming to charcoal with my family because of the atmosphere and the wide range of food and deals that are always available no matter what day of the week. We usually get the family plater which is enough for more than 10 people and the taste is amazing without talking the the taste of the meat which amazingly delightful as the meat is is always fresh. That's why I Recommend anyone who's looking for a perfect restaurant with a decent price to go there and I bet you will leave there very satisfied.

Coke was missing Awful service A female gave my food to the Uber driver Uber driver confirmed he was only handed this one bag But a guy answered the phone at charcoal grill I told him coke can is missing He said driver must’ve kept it He put it in bag But it’s not in the bag of hot food and there is no other bag He just blatantly lied as he couldn’t be bothered Loser You just Lost a customer Also had burnt shawarma in there too

The food was amazing! They were very helpful when catering towards a big group. We all don’t live local to here but the food was that good we had to come here again. Definitely recommend this place it’s family friendly!
